Also to answer the previous question: I'm using Kingthings Xander [Regular] for names.
No.

It's like a Kojima game.

They aren't all widely variant and unrelated though...

There are similar cultural threads, and referencing each others posts while also borrowing cultural elements will help to make our world seem somewhat similar too. I'm not saying everyone be the same in everything. I'm just saying we should all make sure to show that all of our stuff is happening in the same world.

The other factor too would be the influence of an basic regional domination by the Visha who use terms like Raja and Maharaja anyways, which are predominately Sanskrit words. So with that as a factor we'd have that to support some sort of lingual hemegony in that regard. Unless someone's an "invader", which I wouldn't be opposed to.

I'll also account for Chapa later today. But right now I'm already on late crunch time before going to class. I'm just waiting for my tea to boil.
Given India also took a shit, albeit in the 70's that would be something that explains it. Sometime in 1971 I think the post-colonial government of India decided to up and explode one day plunging the country into a state similar to Russia. Regionalization ensued with each having their own psuedo war-lord government and local military on hand. Any one could have potentially overwhelmed French and Portugese India before Persian and Chinese interests moved in on the nation.

And then both got bored and sort of decided to make something of the former nation, rebuilding it as the Indian Federation and left.

Timor could have been swallowed up by the Japanese war machine in the thirties-fifties.

For everything else, I'm not sure. Somehow in the period between 'then' and now something had to have happened. But for the tiny islands, I haven't touched the map in a long time and that's been relegated to the guy who brought the new one in (Mihndar) and Chapatrap.
Trying to figure out realism in our exaggerated Great War has been an exercise in bashing our head against a brick wall for about four years now :P. It's kind of gotten to the point for us old fags that we pretty much gave up trying and are working with it, though a few helpful things happened in mainland Europe to make it more believable. As Vilage has said, our Great War compliments the over all absurdity of the Precipice brand, where Spain can be the US, and China can become a thing in ten-fifteen years, where Ethiopians who never heard of 'food' can dominate the entire center of the African continent, and where the Germans decide to elect in referendum a construction worker to be the Kaiser because he's related to House Hohenstaufen.

But there's a lot of empty space in the lore concerning the Great War that from a story standpoint there's a lot that could have gone on. I think on and off we've tried to do something to explore that period, but we never got around to it.
