Y'know, Doc, the Pater reminds me of Dodgeman from RS. Incredibly flexible, damn good at letting reflexes and contortionism carry its way through fights, and pisses off everybody he fights because hitting him is like pissing in to a shot glass taped to a cheetahs back in full sprint while riding on the back of a chevy with bad shocks on a pothole-riddled back alley on a unicycle blindfolded. With no urine. Once I make it back here, I'll see about doing a brawl with you. You're currently the best fighter here (knew you'd make it buddy), so let's see if I can keep up on forums, not just in-game.

I knew I would too, just like how I know we'll soon meet at the top. I must say though, it took more effort OOC'ly than IC'ly.

@MelonHead

Hey now, don't get ahead of yourself. If you make me look too bad and lose, it'll look all the worse on ya. Regardless, glad you can look forward to a potential victory against a stone age boogeybeast quantifiably dozens of times weaker than your own character.

Perhaps when we fight on more even ground during the Black Mountain Tournament, you without an absolute defence and me with a character that can actually fight aggressively, thou mayest find even more merriment in analysing my limitations. I hear that the best vantage point to initiate said analysis is upside-down, with the cranium tombstoned through several inches of firm peat.
@LeeRoy

Sure, they can look on from a macroversal stadium, all wearing night vision goggles of course.

Seriously, look at the join status now.
The gunfire filled the cavern with one hell of a ruckus. It was clever of Higan to aim at his head again, but no, the monster wasn't dumb enough to try the same trick twice. It wasn't on the mech or in reach of the rifle barrel. Certainly with such noise the creature could move about as it pleased, as any shifting or clattering of old bones would be muffled. It was planning something terrible, that much was true. The idea had buzzed into its skull like a cloud of black flies when it had left the mech's head. It was a diabolical strategy. The machine of war was sturdy, but it had little vulnerabilities all over. Joints. If the slime could get in deep enough, perhaps a metal thing could be gummed up. Ah, but to do so would take tact, effort, and time. Lots of time. So very much time. Good thing the monster now had plenty of it. The big question was, how would this occur? It would require close proximity. Or maybe not, with enough cunning...

Battleship ain't nothing like this.
@MelonHead

Excuses and more excuses. You just hate not having excuses to whine. If venting at me helps relieve that pent up complex, have at it. As as for story, please say no more. Reading your stuff is like looking at an IKEA manual. I don't try to predict outcomes, but I will say that you should be keeping your words soft and unabrasive. If they get shoved back up from whence they came, it won't feel good.
@MelonHead

Uhh, because it sensed the lens wasn't in a million pieces? If you're quite done vainly trying to turn the tables on me, perhaps we can get back to the roleplay. I know bickering comes second nature to you, and for the first half dozen whining intermissions, things were still tolerable. Now its starting to get stale.

I'm here to fight a robot, not a grandma.
@MelonHead

All I see are sputtering excuses. My bullshit? Au contraire, I'm simply not letting you run amok with information you shouldn't know anyways. If you aren't metagaming, then you should be fine trusting Pollens judgement and your own instincts.

And yes, please DO provide those links.
@Enki

The monster appeared to understand what Nergal had said. It seemed to smile or leer back at him, sopping muzzle crinkled back into a strange, dog-like grin. The horrible creature had lips, and what lay behind them it didn't reveal. Its sightless eyes had taken on the aspect of a cruel child that was about to enjoy pulling the wings from a fly. It looked stupid-smart.

As the tetrahedron's trap snapped shut, it would have no captive within. The monster was a thing that defied sane description, but at the core and disregarding the ways its terrible form defied reason, it most resembled a cross between a serpent and a bat. Certainly it moved just as quickly as either of the two. It had used its gangly arms and powerful tail to propel itself to the side, contracting its tail after it. Its heat pits could detect light, hence its awareness of the glow. Now on Nergal's right, it would begin trying to slowly circle around him. It would continue hauling its body to its left, leaving a snail trail of slime wherever it slid. Its tail coiled and uncoiled in the air above its back, like a writhing vertical python. It was waiting for Nergal to make the first move.
@MelonHead
I'm done with having Higan constantly "guess" where the Magna Pater is. All I can say is that he can't see what he can't see, so it will be a threat from outside of his newly limited vision. You can ask @Drifting Pollen yourself if my secret moves are fair or not, but you'll not be getting any hints. You need to be in the dark as much as Higan is to keep things on the straight and narrow. But seriously, no more of this convenient instinctual stuff unless it turns out that Higan really is damn good at looking in the right direction at the right time.

And Slimy's autocannibalism is about as fair as Higan's anomoly vision and grip sensors. At least I had provided a link to the thread where it used its selective autocannibalism before, back on the first page, rather than simply invent it out of the blue.
@MelonHead

Finished. I sent Pollen the details of the Magna Pater's next series of actions to keep them from being too easy to guess.
<Snipped quote by Doc Doctor>

As in, Rick Scott the governor of Florida?

Anyways, I'd be up for it, if there's anyone else insane enough to get themselves into a fight like this.

Okay, so Pollen needs someone on their team!
