Current Its a fun feeling to just sit and think about what to do for responses. The flipside is feeling locked in place, waiting for another to go first on something.

You ever take a look at the forum board, not see anything of ready interest, and decide to just go about your day? Figured I'd see if a new game was interesting, nope, ah well.

Writer's block is a pain, but if I happen to owe anyone apost, I'll be working on them tonight, hopefully. Might go surfing, see if any games catch my attention.

Bio

I already did an earlier introduction, but this is something one could always see, so let's roll.

Serene is the pen name that I use over on my old G+ account, which if you're able to find the account before the site shuts down, is Serene Selphia, but no fancy url, lol. But to those I'm close enough to, my nickname is Chris, and if I ask you to not use it, its nothing personal, I'm just not ready for that level of friendliness. That isn't to say I'm not a friendly person, just that I can be a bit professional when it comes to stuff. I've been rping since like...2011 I think? If I could find the Minecraft rp forums I started on(yes those were a thing, it was actually full of good rpers, but all good things come to an end of course), I'd have a precise date.

I roleplay a lot of things, well, that was the old system. About four years back, I settled down in a roleplay community on G+ called Temple of Glory, and began to stick to just one character who I kept working on, using other characters as I felt the need. That was my current primary character's father, a character I'll call the Professor for now, as I intend to post a version of his character sheet later. Probably when doing so wouldn't spoil what became of him in a storyline. Anyway, after a point I burned out as him, and switched focus to his daughter, who I use primarily in the old roleplay hub I come from. The Good Doctor, and here, no spoilers, mostly because ahaha, I'm shy about that.

I love a lot of series, but my heart goes out mainly to Rune Factory, Sonic, Mega Man, Metroid, Mario, Pokemon, and Duel Monsters. Especially Rune Factory and Sonic, though lately I've fostered a love for the Nasuverse, Fate Grand Order is a fun time. I love to read a variety of things, and I'm always online unless sleeping, so feel free to drop me a line if you need it. While I'm relatively new to the site here, I'm an rp veteran, and a skilled writer, as you'll see whenever I post the Doctor's current profile.

Ah right, more on me. I'm a college senior presently, I just had my capstone for my history degree wrapped up, and I'm proud of my progress. While I am a loner by nature(I mean my writing often keeps me trapped in my room to meet paper deadlines), I'm still a sociable person, and if you can't reach me here, my Discord is Serene Selphia#1064. So I suppose that's a bit of a spoiler, but to who, I won't say. Just be forewarned, if you ask me about a character of mine, there's a risk I'll write a lot, so make sure you're totally fine with that.

In terms of roleplay, while I do mainly fantasy/science-fiction, I can roll with just about anything(as far as I know), but if I tell you its not working for me, don't take it personally. I'm a fairly detailed writer, and in terms of style, I'm good with both combat and non-combat related narratives, I mean, my current main was built for combat initially, whereas her father is more the sociable type. The most detailed things tend to when I describe the world around, or when writing profiles for characters I adore. Basically, if I'm in tune or really love something, you could get a lot. I once wrote about twenty pages on a google doc in two hours because I loved it so much. Weird flex sure, but you can understand it. I don't look for much in rp partners, so long as you can write me enough that I understand either what you're doing, or what's going on, I'm usually good. I'll generally drop a line if I need more information.

I love learning, so if you ask me about something, and I don't have an answer, I'll gladly take the time to do at least a basic amount of research. And if you're ever stumped for ideas, drop me a line, I'm always glad to help fellow veterans or the newer folk. Heck, at one point for a friend's group I wrote an entire(albeit unused) document full of random plot ideas for the group drawn from throughout film and video games. Point is, if you need someone to talk to, unless I'm in a bad mood, or its a bad time(aka I'm about to go to bed, or in class), I'm always up for at least a quick chat. I do take commissions, so if you want a fanfiction written, give me a holler, or if you just want a custom story about a character of mine, or just ask for them to give their input on something in a non-serious setting. Still debating what to set prices for, or if I work totally free...I mean I should charge something, but anyways, wew, talk about a ramble, eh?

Anyways, that's about it. I'll probably rewrite this as needed.
Restating ways to reach me as needed!

Belated commenting, but I'd be up to help, even though I've not been here "long."

I'm a hard worker when it comes to world building, so I'm quite interested in assisting. If a sample of any world building I've done is required, I have some stuff.
Nothing off the top of my head, but I can mull over things for a bit, see what I come up with.
@The Fool

All good, I may need to adjust my character's backstory accordingly, since I was operating off the idea that it was a year or so after the imperium fell. I mean, either way, it ends with her attaining her power at around her current age, just means accounting for the time difference. I guess. Unless it looks fine atm. I won't make changes unless you feel I need to, boss.

Life does come first, so if I go quiet for a day or two at any point(beyond talking on Discord), it may be winter term stuff, since I have a 3-5 page paper due end of winter term.
Alright, thanks, expect something by the end of the day, Netflix permitting. Winter break means plenty of movies to binge so yeah-
Present and accounted for. Dragonoid Artificer will be hopefully ready within six hours, still working on ideas in my head. Do you want us to put the unapproved sheets here in OOC, or just PM them?
(Country roads would be nice right about now...but gotta avoid the temptation...) The thought shot through the driver's mind as a free hand played with the dials of the radio on her dashboard, one hand on the wheel, working by touch, rather than sight. Each twist of the knob, whether quick, slow, long, or short, changed it to a different station. Or to static, if the area she was driving through held no station on a given frequency. Her phone charged from the jack, having run low during one of her brief pitstops. Unlimited data didn't mean unlimited battery power. Least her grandmother was willing to foot the bill, for someone who should have looked to be in their eighties, but looked to be in their late forties at most, she was pretty chill with modern technology. Even if the look on her face when Serene had declared her desire to drive west had been...less than happy. Perhaps the death of her father had effected Grandmother differently, but it had driven the young magitek user forward since the lab accident seven years before. Or perhaps it was the thought of Serene going off into danger, all the way across the country, from familiar territories, to a new turf full of chaos.

The thought of what laid ahead made her glance up to the rearview mirror, even as her hand found a celtic radio station, stopping her hunting, a look of relief flooding her face. The music was part of it, but the rear view let her look into the truck bed, which was covered with one of those plastic things that made it look more like a weird van counterpart, albeit with strange windows, and where her power suit lay, along with that staff. Plus a lot of other stuff, like a sleeping bag, tent, parts of her "god"(or whatever it was she had summoned, she was pretty sure it was the Broken God she'd read about on an internet forum once, but it wasn't like she was an expert in extra-dimesional machinery), and other odds and ends. The seat next to her held a small box, snack wrappers and the remains of her lunch being its contents, one of the cup holders holding an energy drink.

Thankfully, the high way she was on was mainly a straight away, and deserted at that for the most part, it let her take the time to well, think and mull over it all. She'd grown up idolizing her father, and while she'd at first believed that the age of the superhero was past, and that magic was dying out as a serious profession(even if her own self-professed technological magic was, in fact, improperly identified non-magical technokinesis), by the time she'd gotten onto the road to drive west, this had changed in her mind. Learning of Santa Celia, and going over her father's own records that were at her Grandmothers, she'd been able to plot a cross-country route, as whatever her father had done over the years, it had made him friends and enemies across the country, so she'd taken a route where when she stopped at night, it was at places that she'd marked as safe. From a small enclave of people who had to be former spies who her father had apparently been friends with, to giving a place that possibly was anti-witch a wide berth, she'd made her way across the country, sometimes it felt as though people were expecting her, which seemed odd, in all honesty, her father was dead. And far as she knew, none of these people she had ever met. And yet, it was this strange kindness that had helped her, leaving the usually closed off wanna be hero wondering what kind of person her father really had been. She'd never known much about his life before her birth, and now part of her wondered what had really made him retire. Curiously, Santa Celia had not been a place visited by her father, most of his notes that did refer to the place said stuff about "climate not yet right, wait for the winds to call." Cryptic stuff like that, which made her wonder if he'd originally planned to help the city out, but that the time wasn't right, which made her wonder...if she was on the right track.

She wasn't her father, that was for sure. Young, silly perhaps, maybe even a little crazy. But she had a chip on her shoulder, a passed on father to make proud. And as she passed the sign that told her the turn off to Celia's city limits was five miles ahead, her hand tightened on the wheel. A week of driving, had all led to this, the final approach to the start of her first, and hopefully not last, heroic tale. No tutorial levels, no extra lives, this was the real world. The sun had long since, and the moon was rising at her back...and on into the night she drove, to whatever chaos laid ahead in the villainous cesspool that was already rife with good elements trying to turn it from a vile den of evil into something...beautiful. Hopefully she'd fit in. Even if her magic was fake, and she had a serious case of eighth grader syndrome...

//Not my best, but I did try. Feedback always welcome.
Lol, I still learned something, pffft.
Before I do try and submit a sheet, would a dragonborn artificer esque character be welcome?

Asking incase I can adapt a DnD character of mine to the setting. Instead of ground based Dragon Indiana Jones, it'd be a space archeologist on the ship's crew. I dunno, I'm open to ideas.
@The Harbinger of Ferocity@Rawk
Thank you both for the feedback, it means a lot.

I agree, its an art that seems under valued. Sure, where I came from, our version of a forum was all one interconnected story, with each thread focused on a specific group of people's tales. Like say, a G+ post that's just one big raid battle, rather than dropping in the middle of an ongoing thread, is its own thing.

I'd certainly be interested in what you said Harb. My own character, Doctor Rockwoman, is not someone I can readily import, due to the years of development, plus the monster amount of data I have in the wings for her(such as her immense treasury from her adventures, or even the fact she's designed multiple android models in a vein like her grandfather, or other genius's who design such), would likely spook some. Its why the CS I'm posting soon for her is going to be a slimmed down version for ease of reading(as opposed to the google document that is her current G+ profile, as I've yet to begin work on her post G+ version 7.0 profile, yes, I had patchnote style profiles, good times). If folks did say, want to see her treasury, I could make a separate thread devoted to posts that chronicle each piece of her treasury, and the memories of those she honors by having said items.

My original approach to rp was much like how the forum is now, at least when I got to G+, back in my original forum days, we had characters we built up over time, but at the same time, switched to a new generation as needed. By the end of my first forum run, I was on the third generation of our tales. We'd battled Eggman in the first and second generations, battled Enerjak of Archie fame alongside Xehanort in the second generation, and made it home to Earth by the advent of the third(after one of our android buddies crashed our space ship into a mountain on purpose), and all around, had fun.

Not that I have any issue with how we do things currently in the Threads, just that since each tend to be their own canon, it's not what I'm used to in these days. Expanding Horizons is close to what I'd do with the Rockwoman, but since it seems dead(unless a dedicated group of rpers wants to revive it's interconnectedness), we'd have to do something else. Something I have planned(a variant of what I submitted to All-Verse in fact), could be used by folks who want to bring their characters together, since I do see some threads that do massive-crossovers. It's just a matter of dedication. Those like myself may be a dying breed, as even where I came from, folks could never remain active, they'd make alts like candy on G+, make hundreds of various CCs, and never stick around, make OCs, and vanish within a day. It was sad, since I'd written the world lore of the G+ comm I focused my efforts in until plot drove me to a friend's community, where I've been since(being comatose and getting transported along with another landmass to another universe by a creator deity to avoid the final boss of Fate Grand Order destroying the entire world makes for interesting adventures, as does being unable to return home when the universal barriers harden and prevent cross-universal travel).

Am I rambling? Perhaps, If so, I do apologize a tad. Folks I know in a few places do love it when I ramble about the stuff I've written, not out of boasting, but just, guess they like to hear the months, nay, years of effort put in. From combing through game lore, to carefully trying to justify a given power, and then built upon foundations. To an entire google document devoted to each person met after a character was metaphorically refreshed and given a second chance at life, to just hours spent compiling the treasury's links, to eventually flesh out with more data. To even notes on the races that inhabit the world.

Whoops, rambled again. As a published writer, and as a long time rper, I like to discuss the written word too much for my own good. Or typed, in this case, I suppose. I should start importing the species list of the Rock Imperium here at some point, but still waiting for G+ to archive all my stream data, I think, so I can share my work with the world.

tl;dr: I wanna do interconnected tales beyond what massive year spanning threads do, but also don't know how to do so here, or how to fit in, perhaps? I dunno if this is a good sum up, lol.
You can send me the notes in a pm here, or hit me up on Discord, whichever is easier! I can post every day if needed, but I'm used to turn order type stuff, so if I end up in a group segment with others, rather than off on my own with the GM here providing relevant commentary for my exploring guy whenever he gets approved, I'll reply when its my turn!

Hope I can make edits with ease!
