For a long while, she had lurked just out of the trappings of contact, she was fine by herself most of the time, but this was not the time. She observed something new, it was different from all others she had seen lately, it lacked something, what she could not tell yet, but it would do just fine.

She took the ethereal equivalent of a deep breath and went forward.

She took a deep breath, at first looking down, only seeing the bare earth beneath her feet. With time, she looked up, and saw the bare earth that was not near her feet. She arrived early, good.

She felt cold, too much contact with that which was not her. In response to her needs, a silky hood formed around her face, and from it, a coat made of wood-like blocks grew. That felt better.

This time it did not seem any voice was telling her what to think and what to do and who she was. Good, yet... "I will need a name." she whispered to herself, using any old name would just alert the snake-like threads of Fate, even in a universe like this. With some thought, she continued. "I am Kap... Gam."

Just saying that felt very revitalizing, as if her being was in better connection with this universe. It probably was. Yet, one issue remained, in a soulless world breathing and asphyxiating felt the exact same to the goddess. She would need to fix that.

The options to bring souls about were many. Gates, rivers, trees, auroras, moons, stones, chests... She wished one of her knights was by her side, they always helped when she was indecisive. She wondered about her issue, she wanted something discreet yet big, something that would spread fast and be ever present without one noticing it, a fit mirror to souls.

"Grow." Kap Gam extended her hand, and a pale purple fungus spore materialized in it. The goddess gently buried it in the sand, the organism quickly spreading underground like mold, sometimes sprouting upward and forming little mushrooms.

Around the area of the Door, where she planted the spore, a proper presence of souls was felt. Mortal beings created within the area will become imbued with a soul, should they provide a proper husk for one.

With time the fungi would grow, spread its tendrils from one pole to another. Kap Gam was pleased with the result, she thought about raising her hand and bringing about a few beings to serve her, but it felt too soon. She had learned not to be impulsive.

We are doing the oasis idea? Or is the change in god power enough to make it unecessary?

Oh wow, I completely missed that the thread was up >_>

As of right now I am the only chaotic evil god, and one of the only evil gods. A majority of the gods are neutral which is good and a few are good or lawful so they probably won't like what he does. As such, I have a sense of purpose to bring true terror into the world.

Haha, I kinda expected this to happen, Divinus Mk I and Mk II had this one thing where a lot of players played neutral, few players were good, and there was so much chaos eventually that most neutral gods started becoming comparatively good. I know that is why I pushed for good in this version, at least.
Eldritch abominations are always fun.

Oh, you are having so much fun in Divinus then! So much fun, you will not even know what to do with all the fun, you will be like "damn, how do I contain all this fun?" and later be like "Okay, this might be too much fun" but it will be too late, the fun is seeping from under your door, soon it will fill the room with pure fun, and there is no escape.
@Dawnscroll What was the last post you remember reading?
I do like the idea of it being a place in the map, lots of RP potential in that. Plus it look cools and is a sensible center to the map while also making it look more mystical.
@Antarctic Termite Is that something we should try discussing once the thread is up? Feels odd to leave the new players out.

Also, we are doing that "God Oasis" idea right? If so, an area that is convenient for a super secret divine land would be nice.
Post

Well, it's not exactly a nation RP even if a lot of time is spent on nation-building, furthermore, it takes place on a planet, which makes it not really artificially huge, just huge, it makes sense why something in a continent is not having action with another, the same way the Romans did not have a lot of action with the Chinese and Maya, and just a bit with the Ethiopians.

I won't lie I prefer this style to Mk1's style, as it gives a lot of breathing space, but I understand what your issue with it is. But I do not think its a land factor, but instead something with the way the game is played.

-Each player picks up a region and develops it, instead of doing multiple smaller world building projects in a variety of regions.

Its very understandable behavior really. But I feel like, say, Gerrik living in Eastern Mesathalassa, is an interesting experience.

-Players have regional storylines which are not good to interrupt.

For example, Vetros was stuck in one of these for a long time, making it hard for anyone to interact with it. Same is happening now with Western Mesathalassa, I made sure to leave huge chunks of time where much can happen, but the next a hundred years of the continent are set, and then I will be free to leave it be.

-Not many heroes and gods interact with other civilizations

Which seems to be again a result of the cordiality, it is a bit better than having a dragon god crashing in mid-plot, but it has its own issues. Collabs can fix that.

So, down to it, I see two issues:

Regions are more malleable than they look, a lot of people seem intimidated to act in regions where others are active, but the distance between say, the northmost to the southmost harbor kingdom is the same as Lisbon-Baghdad I think, so there is room for even someone outright deciding to build up a town in there. The big issue seems to be history wise, which can be quickly solved by asking the player who is working the region.

Collabs too, collabs are always good but there aren't many that don't involve a god, inviting players to interact with your region could work. It's an issue I have myself, even with BBeast having a character next door.

What I don't think will help is to make the world too small or giving everyone impossibly fast boats and horses. It makes sense that all the average MSTLS noble knows about Vetros are distant stories because that is a distant region.
