Bio

21 year old white man. Do I get Social Justice points for being gay?

Lame (and somewhat rude) jokes aside, I'm an American college student majoring in Media Studies and hoping to work in game design. I've run several tabletop RPGs over the years, mostly in the vein of D&D and Pathfinder. I dabbled in forum RP years ago, and am hoping to have a joyous reunion with the art now.

My greatest strength is probably my ability to realize my weaknesses and take honest criticism without feeling put down. One of said weaknesses is my bad tendency to proofread after posting something, so feel free to point out spelling mistakes or small grammatical errors if I've left a post lying around a little while.

I swear I don't bite, though the zombies might. (Ask me about my moral position on Necromancy.)

Y'all giving your actual names and I'm just over here going, "Uh, I'm Shy, yup. Not actually shy, but that's what I'm called."

That's what you'd think, but I guess Mercenary Lord is just a master of deception.

That said, I'm Drew. I'd kinda prefer to still be called Draken, though. Keep this as a "fun fact".
@Draken I think Lovejoy said we had something like a month of free time.

Oh, snap. That's a lot more luxury than I thought... I'll have to go back and do something.
@Draken I don't think each character is necessarily on the same day timeline wise, but I think Hassan, Ragnar, Stina and Ilya are on their last night before they need to travel to T'sarae to board the Karamzina. I'm not sure how long Ilya's visit took place, but I think if you wanted to join the rest of the group we can make it so that he was at his parent's estate earlier in the evening.

Oh, that was in the afternoon. That said, I meant how long is our break in total. From ceremony to departure.
@Draken you haven't responded to let me know if you want me to include an in for Ilya to join us or not. I want to have an update for Ragnar in the next reply and I'd like for them to meet up, but if you're not into this idea let me know.

Nah, though I thought this break was just one day. How long is the thing? 2 nights?

Madrys has two ether circuits:

1) her core, which never loses any energy and is thus a perpetual motion machine

2) her body, or frame, which does use up energy. However, this energy comes from a separate tank of fuel, not her core.

Also, as for violating thermodynamics, we can always say that the Generator works by forcibly drawing power out of Omestris through the ether of his people, however no one has realized this as of yet.

You mean a continual, gradual drain on the occupants of the Karamzina? Provided its marginally less than the occupants' natural ether regrowth, that sounds great at well. And also pretty revolutionary, for lack of a needle and specific extraction time.
Are we all just skimming over the fact that we just had an implied perpetual motion machine? I mean, even if the Omestrian Ether created (is it still technically Omestrian? Can we create more kinds?) isn't as much as is consumed in operation, this is an incredibly massive breakthrough. If we could engineer it to create more artificial ethers, there could be new, more potent forms of ether produced in these machines for field use. If Omestrian ether is, say, 5% fire 95% ice, and it's so significantly more powerful... Getting it even to 8% fire would be major for the Inquisitors, at least.
Well, even though I'm still trying to figure out a better way for Oren's relationship with Ilya, since I misinterpreted and all, I would still think that Oren would put Ilya up for leader.

I just reread what you have written, and it doesn't seem wrong. Plus, I imagine that would be most of the warband: putting up with Father Ilya as leader. He'd be one of perhaps two willing to take the job, and he is reliable.
This reminds me: how many more people are there in Warband Leviathan? I think it was mentioned half of us are going to El, and the (not player) half is staying in Varya. We might want to just cut that half out and chalk it up to the dropout and mortality rates.
For that matter, I would recommend Father Ilya as the put-up-with leader of Leviathan, but if Mother Indra had any say in the matter (and she most certainly did), that would never be the case. Unless perhaps it was decided at the very end? Only that does not make sense to me - the Red Seminary would want to hammer out the major kinks in group dynamics before letting a warband loose in the world.
Aside from administrative/leaderships positions (for which I like High Inquisitor, Grand Inquisitor, and Prime Inquisitor (to somewhat reflect "Primus")), do the Inquisitors need to be separated so finely? There are few of us, so surely it could not be too difficult to distinguish us by the individual. When easy sorting is needed, they can simply refer to our warbands. For that matter, what if it's not the inquisitors who and separated into Xth-Grade, but the warbands since we often remain in those groups for years?

Fixed. Don’t know if they would be possible with magic, either.

I have no doubt magic could be used, but wouldn't it need to be somewhat specialized? Also, in general, I think most of why we don't notice eye color is because it doesn't matter. We profile on skin color, but I imagine that when you're born in a world where eye color matters, you'd pay it more mind.
