knock knock......
Celine didn't pay much attention to the jagged blade forged by the hands of an orc. She knew very little about them. These creatures were a gruesome attempt at something resembling a man or woman of the fields. The fact she lacked any knowledge on these creatures worried her. She was a worldly woman and took pride in what she knew. However some of her wisdom was still limited to the stories told by the ones who came to her. Rangers who'd been attacked by wild animals, villagers having fallen ill after drinking from poisoned streams, or perhaps even more disturbing a cup of poisoned wine. She never forgot their stories, they were tied to their requests. For each she would perform long hours of ritual, cleanse and sew their wounds and ease their haunted minds. There hadn't been one mention about Orcs or a wound inflicted by one. It worried her not because she feared them, but she was afraid of not being able to do what she set out to do, without them getting in her way. Though she might be worried inside her face betrayed no such emotion, the same enigmatic expression ruling her fine features. It only changed when she chose to.

There were many ways to remedy a lack of knowledge and since this bothered her greatly she sought to do something about it. As much as she disliked the help of others she was smart enough to recognize some things could not be accomplished alone. It would not be the first time she used others for personal gain and certainly not the last. Had her doors not remained open to people from all walks of life? They made use of her services and Celine thought of this as a fair trade.

The young farmer Edward had seen the Orcs and even fought against them, or that was what they wanted her to believe. The blade he acquired though was proof enough for her. Aside from the Watchful Man he probably had the most useful information. As Thaddeus jovially urged them all to join in with drink, the serving girl also placed a mug full of ale in front of her. She took it but didn't drink like the rest of the fellowship. Instead she got up from her chair to speak with the heroic farmer.

The young woman urged her untouched mug of ale into the farmers hands with a knowing smile. There was a look in her eyes that was hard to decipher, her kindness was obviously forced yet there was still something genuine there. Though it was buried so deep it was barely visible. "You look like you could use another" "I can imagine your encounter with the foul creature has changed your life completely." She spoke calmly. "Have you been cleansed afterwards?" She asked with a serious expression. Woodhaven wasn't among the villages in her service, yet she did not know of another Godswife living in these parts. A meeting with a creature as foul as an Orc left its mark. Such a thing should be removed as soon as possible. "I can do it for you Edward, but it doesn't come for free" She continued hoping to gain his favor. They were interrupted by the barkeeper, she had seen him approach and turned to him as he addressed both Edward and herself. "Sir Wolmak wanted me to mention he has free beds available if you'd like to make use of them"
Great I'll take you up on that offer!
I'm working on a post right now ^.^
Alright Lillian I get where you're coming from and I'd like to bring this to a proper end too. I'll change the ending so that Floure spots Chavi and Edimer and we'll try to finish in a couple of last posts. ^.^
Where is everyone though really? A couple of players made a CS but never posted or made just one IC post. I say we could create a spot for J2 I mean once the mission starts the pace might pick up a bit more. It would be nice to know who have been active at that point and who haven't.
She didn't like the stillness of the roads, it was like everything around her was holding its breath. Preparing for something great. All the while she had been walking she had tried to ignore the pit forming in her stomach. It warned her something bad was going to happen, just like she knew the spirits had taken Tasarla's horse. But she hadn't wanted to be right about that. Ignoring it had never done her any good. She started to run and despite her battered shape she kept running until she reached the entrance of Croftshire. Only when she stopped running she heard her own heart beating furiously inside her chest. She still had not seen Chavi, Edimer, V, Abe or anyone else since they left the circus grounds. Abe and her had stayed behind but he had left and ordered her to stay behind. After the attack no one had returned. She was scared........really scared. It made her knees weak and she bit her lip to stop from quivering. The possibility they could be hurt or worse, scared her to death. She would go through anything, face any danger as long as she knew they were waiting for her. Safe and sound, sitting by the fire surrounded by their homes and spinning one tall tale after the other.

When Floure entered the town, she felt an intense feeling of dread brought on by the misery spirits. It made the air heavy and she realized with a sickening clarity she had felt this before. Only then she hadn't realized it was caused by the spirits. It was a revelation she didn't even have time to register as her eyes grew wide at the scene in front of her.

There were gallows set up in the town square and the procession had already started. When she recognized Drust and Maggie, her lips parted to let out a scream but just like the roads she had walked before, there was no sound. Her hands had instinctively shot up to muffle her non existing scream and the pain from her scraped palms forced her to focus.
Floure gritted her teeth she let out a shuddering breath. No no no, this could not be happening.

She could feel the panic starting to paralyzed her, forcing her to be nothing more than a spectator to this tragedy. But she wouldn't let it. With fierce determination made her way to the front where the townspeople had gathered. She tried to hide her face behind her veil best she could. Though the shimmering fabric did just the opposite, it covered her raven hair like a curtain of stars. Floure couldn't believe what she was seeing. She needed to find the others, they could come up with a way to save them, they just had to. She didn't know what she would do if............. But where in this forsaken town were they? Then she spotted the unmistakeable tall form of Eri. Despite her feelings of trepidation a small but happy smile found its way to her face. She quietly weaved between the possessed townspeople to reach him, relief washing over her like pleasant summer breeze. The young fortune teller did not look at animal master directly not wanting to draw attention to the fact they were conversing. "What is going on?" She whispered worriedly.
I'm sorry guys, the last couple of days have been unexpectedly bussy. I promise to have something up tonight! And posted finally, sorry everyone. I know Igraine and Ani were working an a collab together and I didn't want to get too much in the way. So I put Floure in the square near the gallows but she hasn't done anything. Maybe if and when Heroes posts he can have Vandilo join her. I'm not sure he's in on Edimer's plans, or is he also in the collab with Ani?
Amani saw Nate snicker next to Superboy and as much as she wanted to throw the dishcloth at him his laugh was annoyingly infectious. It resulted in a half hearted throw which Nate could easily dodge, especially with his speed. "That's not funny you now, he could really be hurt for all I knew" She said laughingly which made it so much less convincing. She wasn't really angry or upset. It took a lot to make her mad and she didn't believe Nate had it in him to do that to her. So........what next? She thought, looking at the stack of pancakes which was growing smaller steadily. Thank God they liked them, it would be really awkward if both plates were left over.

Amani smiled listening to Nate who was talking to Superboy about being a team. They were a team and she was really happy about that. A team looked out for each other, had fun together and shared good times as well as the bad. Almost like a family did and as much as she wanted to get a life of her own away from her family, she was still going to miss them. Maybe not right away but eventually she would get homesick. It happened every time she went somewhere by herself for a time, which wasn´t all that often. Being part of a team would definitely help to make her less homesick.

" Plus the girls man. They're awesome." Well Nate was right about that, female superheroes were awesome and unfortunately not equal in numbers to the guys. It was just like the Justice League, too many guys. Though she was pretty sure Nate meant a different sort of awesome. Two could play at that game. Besides a whole team of cute guys was definitely fun to be around. "You are spot on" Amani said with a giggle flipping her hair over shoulder and batting her lashes dramatically. "Where would the team be without some girl power" "Besides, the guys are pretty cute too" She winked at Ember, of course it was all for a good laugh.
