"Oh you don't have to worry, pumpkin pie is my favourite," Morthos called to Jax as she went out the door. He gave Ophelia a polite smile as she sat with him, "well thank you. It's a good thing I took Jax along, I would have had no idea what to buy for myself to look better." He took a drink of water and nearly spat it all out when Ophelia asked if anything happened between him and Jax. He was usually pretty good at lying but the question really took him off guard. After a brief coughing fit he managed to get out, "what? No, no, why would you think that?"

But there was no hiding it, she clearly already knew something was up, that grin on her face said it all. "Okay fine," he relented, "but you tell Jax that you threatened to withhold pie unless I talked." He took a proper drink of water before continuing, "Jax and I.... We kinda, sorta, maybe, kissed a bit." He half mumbled the last bit but was sure Ophelia heard him. There, he said it, it was out there as a thing that happened. He hoped Jax wouldn't be mad, she would have told Ophelia at some point, right? They were sisters after all.
Morthos thanked Ophelia for the compliment then just kind of stood there a bit awkwardly as the girls talked, eventually sitting down at the table and getting himself some ramen. He tuned out most of the conversation, at the mention of the agreement they came to at the shop Morthos just stared in to his food. Her comment about no fairy tail made him a bit sad, ya, there's no fairy tail here, so get it out of your thick skull dummy. He smiled at Jax when she asked how the ramen was, "ya, it's good, don't usually eat ramen."

He knew he couldn't stay here all night again, he planned on fighting Mitsukini tomorrow and he still had to make all his preparations. But he supposed he could stay here a bit longer, it probably wouldn't take him all night to get everything ready. "I don't usually have ramen, nothing against it, just tend not to eat it."
"Don't deserve it? Jax if anyone deserves this it's you," Morthos went up and put his arm around her as she looked through the window. "I know my money doesn't mean anything to you, I look like a homeless person with that cloak on. Do you want me to put it back on? It's in one of these bags we have." He chuckled and kept talking, "Jax it's because you don't care about my money that I want to spend it on you. Or rather, with you. You're my friend, really my only friend, and what's the point of friends if you can't spoil them?"

Morthos was quiet a moment then had an idea, "how about this? You tell me why you think you don't deserve the scythe, and I'll tell you why you're wrong. If I convince you you accept my generous gift and crown me your best friend, deal?" Thinking of Valgotl, Morthos had heard that sometimes he watched people outside his shop, listening to them to see if they were worthy of his master craftsmanship. Morthos wondered if he was listening right now.
Morthos laughed, "no, it's not a bikini shop. I'm pretty sure you're going to like this a whole lot more, you said it's your birthday soon, right?" Soon after they made it to Valgotl's shop, "tada, you said this is the place to get the best scythe, right? I know he only does jobs he thinks are worth it. So you can make your case, and if he thinks your worth his time, which I think he will, your new scythe will be funded by yours truly." Morthos knew this would go one of two ways, either she'd be really excited, or yell at him for spending so much money on her. He really hoped it was the former.
The Elf guy who came up to them made Jax blush with his comment, but Morthos had a feeling that he may be playing for the other team. Or maybe not, it was always kind of hard to tell with elves, they just had that feeling about them. At any rate, Jax spotted a jacket for Morthos to try so he doffed his cloak and donned the jacket as Edwin came back with some more things for him to try, Jax sent him away as she turned back and asked how he licked the jacket.

"Well, it fits? I'm terrible with clothing, I've always just bought the first thing that fit and was acceptable to me." The jacket was pretty comfortable though, and it had pockets which was a must have feature for him. He could definitely see himself replacing his normal cloak with this jacket. "Come on, there's a changing room with my name on it?" It turned out the room did indeed have a name on it, but since they never gave Edwin his name he had to improvise. So on the door written in fittingly red marker was Hellboy. "I mean, he's not wrong?" Morthos laughed and entered the changing room to try on his first set of clothes.
Morthos caught the end of Jax telling Roxas to stay away from her and keep Ophelia happy before asking him if he was ready to go shopping. "ya, totally ready to get my makeover," he said with a smile as they left, "so what's the deal with Roxas? Are you guys on at least civil terms now?" They made their way to the expensive part of town with all the best and priciest stores. "Don't worry about cost, if I'm changing my look I wanna do it right."

He ran his hand through his long hair, "guess that probably means a haircut too, huh?" He'd had his hair long as long as he could remember, he had no clue what short hair would be like. But this whole week was full of changes for Morthos. He'd made a friend, possibly started developing romantic feelings for her, was going to challenge someone to a fight to try and increase his standing at SPA, and now he was trying to be more comfortable with who he was. So with all of that in mind, a haircut really seemed like the least he could do with this whole makeover thing.
They watched Ophelia fight and it looked like she was starting to lose steam, but Jax reassured him she would win before asking if he was angry with her. "What? No, no I'm not mad..." he wasn't going to ask why she thought that, he was sure he'd been a bit weird when she came out of church. "I just have stuff on my mind, you know, fighting Honey and that." He wasn't sure he was making a very good case for himself, probably because he wasn't sure himself if he was mad or not, he'd need some time to think about it. Changing the subject seemed to be his best course of action, and he had something he'd wanted to ask since she mentioned it the other day anyways.

"Are you free after this? You were right about what you said the other day, I need a new look. I can't just keep being the creepy demon guy in the hood my whole life. Maybe we could go on a shopping trip? As you could probably guess I'm not particularly fashion savvy." This would also be his chance to get her to that shop where the guy could make her the scythe she really wants. There wasn't much point in him being from a well off family if he couldn't use that wealth to make his friends happy.

Ophelia had won her fight and was being taken to the medical examiners. "Go be with your sister, Honey fights next, so I'm gonna stay here," Morthos gave her a bit of a smile, "tell her she did great. I'll be down after Honey's fight." Looking back at the arena Honey was fighting his cousin Takashi Morinozuka, Mori for short. It was clearly just a fun match for them, there was no ill will between the two of them. They were both marital arts specialists so it would come down to strategy and general skill, no fancy tricks here.

As soon as the match started the two were on each other and from his seat Morthos could feel the impact of their blows on each other. Honey was using his small stature to his advantage against his much taller cousin. He seemed to prefer hopping right to avoid blows, the times he hopped left he seemed much slower, Morthos would have to take advantage of that. The match was quick, Honey got himself behind Mori and knocked him down at the knees. Mori conceded the match, knowing that if this were actually a fight to the death he would have lost right then. Morthos had learned what he needed to, so he left his seat and made his way down to the medical area to find Jax.
Morthos said nothing in response to Jax just straight up saying he shouldn't expect anything more than friendship from her. He just nodded and gave her a little wave as she went off in to church. While Morthos had little respect for most gods as they usually hated demons, he still had to admit churches had impressive architecture.

Who did Jax think she was, he was just getting comfortable with the idea of having a friend, he hadn't even considered looking at her romantically.

The shadow of the church loomed over him as the sun rose, Morthos felt as though he was being judged for some reason.

He even said sorry for cuddling up to her, he could have just stayed quiet and said nothing. But he did what he thought was the gentlemanly thing and told her, even apologizing for making such advances without her knowledge.

He tried to get his mind off Jax, thinking to his fight with Miksukini. He still needed to mix together his concoction, he wasn't even sure it would work but he had to try.

Jax was a perfectly fine girl, she was pretty, but he hadn't thought of her in a romantic way. Had he given those signals? Did she think them getting desert together was a date? He'd simply meant it as a thing friends do.

He also needed to figure out how he would disperse this elixr, through his shoes seemed like the best plan, so he'd need to modify those too.

Clearly his mind was very scattered, so he was thankful when Jax came back out and gave a little chuckle at her joke "Ya, SPA, think we could check out the arena? I have a feeling Miksukini might be fighting today, I wanna see how he is in combat before I challenge him." As they approached the arena Morthos looked at the list of fight scheduled for today, the first one had a familiar name, though not one he was expecting. "Ophelia? Well now we have to check it out." The fight after was Mitsukini but right now Ophelia's fight was the more interesting one.
"Hm? Oh, ya, morning," Morthos was still lost in his own thoughts, at least he didn't need to decide whether to wake Jax or not. She turned her back on him and stripped down to change in to new clothes for the day. "Oh, okay, I guess this is how things are then," he muttered to himself. It was very difficult for him to blush given his already red skin, but Jax sure was trying her best to do that. "I'm pretty sure I was cuddled up to you last night," Morthos mentioned a bit nervously, "I mean, I sometimes cuddle a pillow at night, and you were there while I was half asleep, so...sorry?" He wasn't sure if he should be sorry or not, but apologizing felt kind of right.

Her mentioning church just made him think of the fact that he hadn't been in a proper church in a very long time. He personally followed Ioun, goddess of knowledge, she didn't ask for worship, she just wished for her followers to seek knowledge and share it with others. Going to church would be a strange experience, then Jax teased him about them sleeping together and how church may not be a good idea. "I was gonna say it might not be a good idea because of," he gestured at his body, "all of this." He wasn't sure she was listening, she was looking for Ophelia, who apparently was not home because Jax was pissed. She gave the excuse of hunting but both of them knew where she really was, whenever Roxas lived.

"Ya, sure, church sounds fun, just lemme grab my cloak from the other room." He went to the living room and grabbed his cloak, then did a simple magical spell on his clothes to clean any dirt that may have soiled them. Much easier than laundry. Morthos didn't have any other plans for the day, unless Mitsukini happened to be fighting someone today, in which case he had to watch that fight. He either needed to observe him in action or fight him himself to get a feel for his technique and come up with an appropriate strategy. He met up with Jax at the door, "okay, so, church. Been a while, I won't explode when I enter," he paused a moment before finishing with, "probably," and laughing.
At some point in the night Morthos stretched his legs and one of them cramped up. He immediately jumped out of bed, throwing the blanket to the floor and taking the pillow with him. He the proceeded to half walk, half jump around the bed, it was a very strange maneuver, and if anyone saw they'd probably be very confused as to why he was dancing. But he was for sure not dancing, and after a minute or two his leg relaxed and he could get back to sleep. Now, being that he was still mostly asleep, he didn't notice that he was not in his room or even in his house, or that the bed had another sleeping occupant in it. He simply set up his pillow once more, laid down and put his arm around the other form in bed because that was most comfortable for him.

Morthos awoke in the morning and wandered to the bathroom, he did his business then while washing his hands he splashed some water in his face. That's when it hit him, this sink had two taps, his house only had one. He went back to the room and sure enough there was Jax, sleeping there. He'd slept in the same bed as Jax, more than that, he was holding her while he slept. It's not like they slept together, but they were in the same bed all night. This was not something he had thought would happen. Now he needed to decide if he was going to wake her or not, he stood in the doorway as he pondered.
