From what Danny could tell no one seemed to judge him for being a pickpocket, or even worry he was dumb enough to try something while they were still in the air. Before he could really think about that, Collins and Clementine started their little speech, and with how Collins introduced himself Danny could tell he probably wasn't going to like the man.

He wasn't too sure about Clementine given the fact that his second chances could just as easily be a way to pick up people that wouldn't be missed but he was willing to give both him and Maniacles the benefit of the doubt for now.

Since he didn't have a phone to check he just looked outside again, curious about their new "home" and wondering what he would use that Noetic Energy for. "Maybe telekinesis to make it easier to get money. Ugh I'm thinking too small. I'll worry about it later, if it actually works."

"Why not just call it magic? I mean that is what that Noetic Energy is supposed to be.

Danny hadn't expected the helicopter or all the other people the Maniacles Corporation had recruited for their experiment. "Who knows, maybe they really do believe that magic crap. At least it should be better than sleeping on the streets again." Despite the surprisingly loud engines it seemed some people were actually trying to talk but he had no idea what about.

He briefly wondered if he should try to get some cash before they landed in Alaska of all place, but decided against it. He had already messed up once recently and if he did so here he had nowhere to run. So instead he killed time by looking outside though he quickly lost interest when all there was to see was ocean.

Luckily for him, just when the sight of water, water and more water was getting too much some darkhaired girl managed to get a conversation going by asking why people were would sign up to learn magic.

"I tried pickpocketing a Maniacles suit but got caught and was given the offer of joining their little experiment or dealing with the police. Seemed like an easy choice.
@Duthguy

Accepted, but I would change "dumpster diving" to "perception" and "shoplifting" to "stealth." I tried to make the skills list shorter, plus changing those will just expand your character's capabilities.

"They're running at us head-on. Closing in from being spread out." Eric had no idea what that meant for the fight but it did get him to look up and notice the door starting to glow before the heat affected him or the injured soldier.
" Move, move!" He haphazardly put everything back in the medkit and closed it before joining the soldier in running to a different safe location, making sure to stay low and to cover the medkit.

Once he arrived at the space the soldier had ran too Eric put the medkit down and wondered what he should do. With the truck between him and the ET's he wasn't sure if he could hit any of them if he used his gun but he also didn't feel like getting close enough to use his knife was an option.

Deciding that he should at least try something Eric picked up his gun and aimed it at one of the ET's far away enough from any soldiers that he didn't have to worry about friendly fire. Unaware that his armband was glowing he pulled the trigger, only for nothing to happen. After a few seconds he realized the safety was still on.

Having turned the safety off Eric pulled the trigger again. As expected he missed the ET he had been aiming at but hit one next to it in the arm, not that it did much besides draw it's attention.
It took Eric a few seconds to figure out what Ivor's gestures meant but eventually he took cover behind the truck. He didn't think about gun etiquette as he headed for cover and ended up pointing his weapon at one soldier, luckily nothing else went wrong.

During another lesson on gun use this time about the safety and the different modes of fire Ivor joined the fight by firing at one of the aliens, just barely missing its "eye". Eric wanted to compliment him for his aim but was instead told to help an injured soldier. "On it!"

Trusting Ivor to keep his word and cover him Eric, doing his best to stay low, made his way to the injured soldier. This time due to going slow he did remember not to point his gun at any humans, though he did have to move it around a few times to accomplish that. Eventually he reached his destination, and nearly got hit by one of the ETs himself, though by sheer luck the laser missed his hand. He wondered if he should return fire or focus on helping out the soldier but decided to trust Ivor to take of the threat. He grabbed the soldier by the arm to help him up and guided him back to the armored truck.

Once they got back Eric looked under the seats until he found the medkit and began applying both burn ointment and bandages to the soldier's hands. Due to his lack of training he didn't do the best job though. "This'll have to do." "Thanks for the help."
I'll try to get a post up before the weekend
This could be interesting
Do we roll for our starter stats or not?
Eric nodded when Ivor basically restated the reason why going for a headshot was a bad idea and decided to do his best to keep it in mind. His face was bright red after the bayonet incident but asides from a few chuckles no one said anything about it, he wasn't the first person to make that mistake and wouldn't be the last after all.

Still he was grateful when Ivor took the rifle over to attach the blade for him and thanked both him and the female guard for their help. "Thanks for helping me out." After getting the rifle back he made sure to both keep his fingers away from the trigger and to keep the barrel aiming away from anyone, showing he did learn from what just happened.

He listened as Ivor explained how to use the bayonet and decided he would try to mainly focus on the stabbing, just so that there was less chance of him hurting the wrong person. Of course if necessary he would shoot it. "Yeah, that makes sense. Seems easier than shooting too."

Eventually the group arrived at the aliens' location and Eric was reminded of how weird they looked, especially with how their "eye" was in different spots. He watched as the soldiers got out of the truck and quickly took their positions but decided to stick close to Ivor since he was the familiar with him. "So about the safety?"

In the meantime the aliens seemed to be too preoccupied scanning the ground to attack the soldiers, though that changed after one got shot. The bullet was less effective than it would be against a hum but still clearly hurt. The shot alien turned toward to the soldier that attacked it and fired a beam form the "eye" on its chest. This attack wasn't instantly fatal either but it did leave some nasty burn wounds on the soldier's hands and caused him to drop his rifle.
