Jett’s grogginess was starting to wear off thanks to the second cup of coffee. He looked less like a pinball in a kitchen designed machine and more like a normal person. When she said that was it, he gave her a look that said ‘I don’t believe you’ but he was too tired to actually say it so he just shot her the gaze and took a drink of his coffee to help bring himself to life.

A small chuckle left him behind his coffee when she called him boss before finishing up his second cup of coffee. It was funny to think that they would have a secret from the world. The likeliness of that happening was little to none considering the press was always at the gate of his house asking him questions and wanting to know information of his personal life; especially with the new album coming out. The press loved to follow him about and ask him multiple questions and with how open and hate-filled (mostly from Veronica) his recent break up was, he had enough attention for one lifetime. Then again to hide the best from the vampire hunters it was easiest to hide in plain sight, no matter how much it pissed off his parents that he would be so open. But the caps on his teeth really helped hide who he was no one’s onto him yet and that’s how he’d prefer to keep it.

Her sudden wrapping around his neck through him off and that was easily read on his sleepy face. A small laugh left him as he placed his empty mug down on the table top and forced back another laugh as she nuzzled his neck. It both tickled and felt weird. She had never done that to him before, he was used to getting hugged but that was new. “No I haven’t heard that lately, you might need to say it more often since I’m letting you live here and all.” He said playfully in a sarcastic manner as he settled back down in the chair when she let him go. His head turned looking at her as she walked away. This seemed a little bit of a coincidence that he would break up with Veronica and she was suddenly want to move in with him. “Did my parents put you up to this?”

His large hand rose up and scratched his sleepy head as he watched her closer with his chocolate eyes and tilted his head very slightly to one side. “I have fresh blood in pantry above the sink. I get it from a guy who works at the hospital. He takes good care of me.” Jett said with a nod as he finished up his coffee and slowly stood up and headed to the kitchen and put the coffee cup into the dishwasher and pushed it shut with his foot before leaning up against the counter pushing his hand through his hair again. “There are five bedrooms you can choose from but you can’t have mine. Just so we’re clear.” His ‘just so we’re clear’ was said in a playful and joking way as if she was going to try to claim his bedroom for her own. She was a goofball but she wouldn’t try something foolish like that.

The exchange between the two men was interesting. So Quill likes to steal things from people and keep all the profit. Her chocolate gaze flicked to the man she was with as her eyes narrowed in a disapproving glare. If he thought he was going to cheat her out of her share of the profit he didn’t know what was coming and let’s just say… it would be bad for him and his kneecaps if he tried to double cross her. Her gaze moved back to the blue man on the screen who began to ramble on about how he saved Quill from getting eaten by his men and seeing as though Nikki was half Terran, it probably wouldn’t be the best idea for her to be around his men. Where his men the so called ‘friends’ of Quill’s that tried to beat the crap out of him. Huh, interesting choice of ‘friends’.

Though Quill’s reaction to the story said that he had heard it multiple times; so this was ‘Yondu’s’ fall back story when Quill did something wrong; almost lecturing him like a small child. What an interesting relationship these two must have. Nikki’s gaze turned back to Quill as Yondu began to yell at him about not hanging up; Quill’s comical way of doing it did cause her to smirk slightly before the screen went black and the dining area lost the glow from the screen. Just because what he did was humorous didn’t mean that Nikki forgot the point that was made to her thanks to Yondu, Quill was all for himself and could double cross her. Could, being the key word if he could handle her trying to slice him in half. Maybe she needed to demonstrate her skills whenever they got to their destination so she could instill the idea of ‘DO NOT CROSS HER’ in his head. Actions do speak louder than words.

A blue eyebrow rose in his direction as he gave her the scolding look and told her the first rule of his ship. Her eyes rolled dramatically before she turned the gaze back to him. “What rule is clean up after yourself?” She said in a sarcastic manner, he couldn’t kick her out into the depths of Space for being a smartass but she gestured towards the mess on the table and the plaster of purple goop on the screen. “If you didn’t have a mess, things wouldn’t get accidently turned on.” She wasn’t very playful in her tone but her hint of sarcasm showed that somewhere, deep down inside of her was the joking sarcastic fun-loving princess that used to be on her home planet. But for now… well she wasn’t exactly present.

Rising from the seat she leaned against the table slightly and looked around, “All and all it’s not a bad ship.” She said in a simple matter-of-fact tone. “How many rooms and bathrooms does it have?” It’s funny how a ship is pretty much Terran mobile home. Except in a lot better state than most mobile homes; at least that’s the way her mother described it. She’s never actually been to Earth.
Sharon’s arms hung at her side, her hands sliding into the pockets of her blue jeans. Her face winced slightly as she felt the rope burn rub against her pockets, ouch! Instead of sticking her hands in, she hooked her thumbs into her pockets, not wanting to stand there like a weirdo with her arms hanging at her sides waiting for the storm to pass. Her blue gaze stayed locked on the ground until those words left his lips, we don’t have to tell him rang through her ears like fireworks on the fourth of July. Her gaze shot up to him instantly, expanding as they did so in surprise. Did she expect that to come out of Captain America’s lips? No way. What did she think about it… well can you guess by the smile curling up her lips and expanding across her face to show her straight white teeth, she was probably okay with it.

“Personally I hated Jersey.” She said softly stepping towards him again, her thumbs leaving her pockets before placing gently on his chest. His large muscles underneath her hands felt like a little piece of heaven in a t-shirt. This was a bit awkward, exciting and tempting at the same time. Awkward because of his past relationship/feelings with her aunt, exciting because it was new experience for Sharon and tempting because she had never been in a situation of liking someone and having them like her back. Yes, she wasn’t that dense, he liked her and he made it known by being able to get passed what happened (at least for the most part) and be willing to have a personal secret between just the two of them and away from the rest of the world. It’s funny how much of the recent events with Steve now made sense knowing who he was. His story of his family coming from Ireland, his love for his country, his natural gentleman manners in an ungentleman-world and his innocent shyness when around her (and probably women since he’s not used to being the Greek god he currently was). It all fell into place for Sharon as she finally did the math of two and two equals one man.

“Plus if I left I’d have no one to stand in my door and laugh at me for dancing or want to watch movies with me or enjoy my homemade apple pie. I just see so many problems with this; I think Director Fury doesn’t need to know either.” It wasn’t a bad thing to keep this from him, in fact; the likeliness of him asking her if she followed through with telling him isn’t very high anyway. If she ‘avoided’ the topic or didn’t tell him that she went through with it, he’d assume she chickened out and didn’t tell him and right now, that was the idea both she and Steve would like him to think. “So…” She asked softly, her hands slowly beginning to travel up his chest, her eyes locked onto him; tears gone and only twinkles of hope and happiness remained. “Are we alright?”

“Potential danger?” Lexi asked playfully as she danced a hand up her boyfriend’s arm that was holding him up and now his camera. “The only danger I can think of is being left alone in the house without my beloved boyfriend by my side.” She said with a nod, knowing full well that the city could call them out at any minute to do something around the city but she didn’t care. It just meant she got more time with Peter, even if he was dressed as Spider-Man… which still wasn’t a bad thing.

After a bunch of unscripted photos they climbed into her car and started back down the road. “Do you want to stop by your house so you can get some supplies? Do you want to swing home and pick up stuff or are you fine with what you have in your backpack? I mean if I have to wait before I can feel all safe and protected so you can have a fresh change of underwear I completely understand.” Her voice was full of teasing and playfulness that could only be done with him. She could pick on him just like he picked on her but it was all in good fun with a twinkle in her eyes, a smirk on the right corner of her lips and her bottom lip curling under from time to time, it was all for fun just like it had been for years. This, this was the break she needed.
He didn’t shake on it! The dick! She was about to retort to him, ready to demand that he shake her hand before the sounds of angry men calling out a mixture of names that weren’t anything in relation to Peter, Quill or Star-Lord, the two unlikely pair hurried through the streets to the ship bay. The look on her face was one of surprise to see such a nice ship awaiting them. Blue eyebrow cocked upwards as she followed him up the ramp in a hurry and she followed him to the cockpit, her bag firmly over her shoulder as they began to rise away from the fist-shaking and gun-firing me on the ground before they shout out into the atmosphere which wasn’t exactly the smoothest ride so Nikki fell into a near-by sit and strapped in for the impact of the takeoff and breaking through the atmosphere.

When he turned to her and stretched out his arms welcoming her to his ship, she looked at him with slightly wide eyes. She had never been in a ship that had such an intense take off and that could easily be read on the expression on her face. Hopefully they wouldn’t need to take off often. The ships the Metras built were a lot smoother with their take offs but they never really mastered the intense gunfire, they typically were used for stealth. So this, this was a little different…

Upon his exit, she sat there, taking in a couple deep breathes to calm herself before unbuckling herself and standing upwards. Walking back to what could best be described as a dining area she let out a small sigh and placed her bag on the table. How many rooms did this thing have? Was she going to have a bed? That would be nice, and kind of nice to have a place to call her own that wasn’t a cot. Nikki was at least kind enough to leave him to his bunk room instead of following him into the room to ask him about what they were going after and where they were going.

Sitting down at the table she placed her bag gently on top of the slightly cluttered table before pulling the sword from her back and placing it with the utmost care onto the table in front of her. Her hand danced softly along the sheath. The last thing she had have of her father’s lay before her and the last thing of her mother’s was a simple gold necklace with a little blue stone in the middle about the size of a nickel. All of her people now gone, and the only one left is forced to collecting bounties and trades in order to get by; what a sad existence. She was ripped out of her thoughts by a sudden ring and the appearance of a face on the screen near her. In her fright she jumped and hit a cup which tumbled into a bowl which threw a spoon and landed on the answer button with a beautiful splatter of purple liquid onto the side of the screen.

“Uh… Quill, you have a phone call…” Nikki called over her shoulder not taking her eyes off of the blue man; she was rather shocked to see someone who was blue. That was slightly new for her.

Yondu on the other end of the screen stared at the girl as she stared at him back. “Your hair is blue girl.” He said in a simple tone only to get a simple retort from her of, “Your skin is blue sir.” Obviously her seeing someone with blue skin and he seeing someone with blue hair seemed to surprise both of them. In Nikki’s mind she couldn’t understand why her having blue hair would be a surprise, and in his mind him having blue skin shouldn’t be a shock. Funny how encounters are huh?
As you can imagine, Sharon was on cloud 9 kissing Steve. The tingle of awkwardness faded slightly as she realized that even though Steve was from the era in which he was, her aunt has passed and her aunt married someone else when her love was gone. It wasn’t a bad thing for one must move on when they think the one they love is dead. Her uncle treated her aunt amazing and her aunt seemed happy but not as happy as when she was about to pass… did that mean that Steve visited her before she died? Not wanting to think about it anymore, Sharon focused only on the man in front of her. When she was just about to lean into him more, he pulled back and her blue eyes flickered open to look up at him.

She nodded softly as he talked. He had been through a lot and now it was easier on him with technology and the knowledge now held by the present day public; life is a lot easier. The only thing that threw her off was when he said that he didn’t want any more S.H.I.E.L.D. agents in his life more than what he got at work. And while she could relate, a look of realization came over her face as she slowly turned her gaze away from him. “When Director Fury finds out I told you who I am, he’ll have me moved. And probably replaced with someone else who knows who you are and still will want to follow orders… But,” A small sigh left her, the realization that she’d be asking Steve to lie was upon her and she didn’t want to back him into a corner like that. They’d just have to pretend like they knew each other as Captain America and Agent 13 at work, Nick Fury couldn’t know that he was aware of her identity and her purpose of being across the hall but… well she didn’t want to have him have that linger on his mind. Then again, Fury might never ask if she told him or not. She wasn’t that high on his radar and it really only came up when she brought it up. “if that does happen, it’s not going to stop me from coming over and seeing you. New Jersey’s a heck of a lot scarier than New York City, I don’t care what people say.” She said in a soft attempt to lighten the mood, even though it was obvious that she didn’t want to move…
The laugh wasn’t a ‘oh my god Lexi you look ridiculous’ laugh like he would give her back in middle school when she would give longing-eyes to boys she thought she wanted to be with. Isn’t it funny how wrong she was back then? But now, she couldn’t be happier. Even sitting next to Peter, he was still a good head taller than her so even as she sat up straight, he had to slouch a bit to get their faces next to each other as he held out the camera. During his count down, she twitched her nose to get rid of the on-coming sniffle she could feel and that’s when he snapped at his extremely quick ‘two three’!

“Hey!” She said in a playful tone. She should have known and now he has a picture of his girlfriend scrunching up her face in an attempt to stop it from bothering her. Typical goofy Peter, always catching her off guard; should she have expected something else, nah. “Evil Peter’s never gone, he lays dormant and waits for his moment to attack me with random snapshots of me doing… whatever.” Of course she had to say ‘whatever’ because narrowing down exactly what Peter took pictures of when it came to people, places or things could best be described as ‘whatever’. ‘Do whatever’ was his favorite phrase to say to her when she’d model for him. It’s funny how ‘whatever’ turned into some pretty good shots.

The kiss he gave her should have melted all the snow around them and brought upon spring. She completely forgot that he was snapping photos of them kissing much like she took when they first got together. Only this time they weren’t above time square, he wasn’t in his suit and she had super powers too. Sure it was a bit different but one thing surely didn’t change; and that was their feelings for each other. Lexi pulled back from the kiss before she was tempted to knock him to the ground, the last thing she wanted was to mess up his camera and brand new lens. Laying her forehead against her boyfriends she gave him a cheesy playful grin. “So my parents are out of town for a convention this weekend. Do you think you want to come over and spend a night or two?” Her grin turned into a playful biting of her lower lip; sure sometimes it was controllable and sometimes it wasn’t but this time, it was on purpose.
Nikki wasn’t going to let this lead get away from her. She kept pace with him rather closely as they continued down the road. Does he have a ship? If he does than she found a real score! She didn’t have one, if it wasn’t for the Galactic Police, also known as Nova Corps, she wouldn’t have made it off of her home planet before it exploded but she was never taken to the planet for healing. When he started naming off amounts she gave him the standard ‘you’ve got to be kidding me’ look that every woman seems to be born with being able to do. “50-50 and I’ll buy you dinner once we get paid. There’s no way that the beer and potato fingers cost 5 percent of the job!” She said with a nod and extended her hand to him. “Deal?” Loud bangs and shouts echoed behind them from the bar. This friends were waking up.
