When Steve arrived, Sharon was red faced and her cheeks were puffed out with her last desperate attempt to open the bottle before he go into the kitchen and, of course, she stood there looking like, what she would consider, a fool trying to open a bottle of wine. Non-verbally admitting defeat, she handed over the bottle looking obviously disappointment that she wasn’t able to open it prior to his arrival. But he always had a way of making her feel like she was able to do something or that what she did in fact helped when truth be told, the stupid thing didn’t even budge. He was such a kind hearted person and made everyone feel special. She felt very flattered when he was someone who could make Hercules jealous… and Tony Stark.

A smile moved across her lips as she picked up the bottle and followed him to the pizzas, gently pouring the wine into each of the glasses. Right now, they both needed good wine, a greasy pizza and great company; and Sharon felt like she had both. Pouring the final glass she placed the bottle back down and took up both the glasses. She handed one of them to him with a smile. “Well, seeing as though you have a beautiful dame with you and I have an amazingly wonderful and handsome man with me this evening so work can shove it and I’m going to enjoy my time with him.” With that she turned to him, leaning against her counter, she held up her glass. “To telling work to shove it and relaxing.”
Nikki’s chocolate colored eyes stayed locked on the floor beneath her feet. The idea of being left behind somewhere wasn’t exactly profitable, the idea of getting dropped off with the galaxy police wasn’t exactly her idea of fun. In her mind, she’d probably end up in the same place she was in with The Collector, except she’d have to play some form of diplomatic roll and put into the lime light. Her father did a lot of work with the galaxy organization to try and bring peace. She got dragged to one of those things before and it was so boring; but right now, boring seemed nice.

At the words of his official apology, her gaze flicked upwards to him, blue eyebrows raised slightly in confusion and surprise. When he was done she couldn’t help but laugh, a tear falling from her right eye and travel down her tan cheek as she looked at him in almost disbelief. Did she ever think they’d cross paths again? No way, did she expect to find a helping hand? Yeah right! She expected to introduce her fist to his face; she really should be mad at him for even thinking about trying to sell her but he seemed apologetic and it was meaningful for her. A small sigh left her as her attention turned to the ground, her hand quickly raising up and wiping away the fallen tear. Sitting up in a much more straight fashion she let out a small sigh and gave him a tender smile that moved across her full lips, the first time she had smiled since they had ‘reunited’. “Thanks Peter, I’ll try not to be a burden.”
When it came down to it, she hated bringing up the topic of doing activities that involved the higher society. While Marian herself may live in it, it wasn’t uncommon to see her giving homeless people money (or in one case a donut), donating time to help as many individuals that she could and even in her job, she does her best to help make sure that everything that is important stays important and she’s been known to talk back to the judge when asked to strike something from the record that she shouldn’t. In fact it’s so common that when she gives a dirty look to the attorneys when they say something and give the judge a look that explains that they should strike that from the record. She may live in the section of society that was doing a lot wrong but she’s always tried to do what was right.

“Search my feelings?” She repeated between bites staring up at him in confusion. Swallowing her final bite of her plate she pushed it away and grabbed her cup of coffee, holding onto it for dear life and spitting on it as a saving grace. “I don’t even know who he is outside of the persona he displays. He could be some weirdo crap or some obnoxious annoying brat.” With that she waved her hand as a single she wanted to drop the subject. If Allan had his way he would most likely try to make something happen, he knew her work schedule since it was practically clock work anyway and so did Aria if she happened to get herself involved. While she secretly liked the idea of getting a chance to meet the infamous Robin Hood, which could probably be read on her face, she had a feeling it couldn’t be done.

Her attention moved to Aria as she opened her mouth to speak, only to have Allan jump in, her blue gaze flicked to him as her eyes narrowed in a playful manner, “I’d rather take Robert Locksley over you, I couldn’t play guard dog if you ticked off the wrong person. I refuse to take that much responsibility on my shoulders!” With that she gave him a playful stick out of her tongue before turning her attention back to Aria. “You, however, could handle that job if you would want to bring him.” Robert Locksley was her fall-backs for insulting people, mainly because when he was lawyer he was a pain in her ass as a Court Stenographer; his ending was a rather sad one. Poor guy was a pain in the ass but he didn’t deserve how it all went down.

“Anyway, the Taylor family, remember Bonnie Taylor, the annoying redhead from our Math group that would paint her toes in class and fuss when someone would bump the table.” The blonde shuddered at the thought. She didn’t get along much with most of the people from her boarding school but Aria, “Her dad’s throwing a fundraiser with intention on running for mayor and it’s a big masquerade party with fancy dresses and the works. Will you please come, your family’s invited but they won’t even know it’s you but you’re still on the invite list and my dad’s making me go. Please come! I don’t want to be alone!”
Hey everyone I've been very sick, stuck in bed sick.
But I'm feeling somewhat better, meaning I can walk to my desktop so I'll answer back later this even!
His worry about her and her arm was cute. He really didn’t like the fact that she was hurt but seemed to be more worried about the fact that she was hungry. As he left, she ventured into his apartment, one of the rare times she had been in there. Sharon really didn’t want to snoop but she did find herself looking around; the place was simple, almost empty compared to hers. It didn’t have very many memorabilia’s but he was frozen for most of his life anyway so finding things from his time frame would be difficult.

During her search for the wine, she ran across some open old files of people he used to work with spread out on his desk, there was a file for her aunt, a few people she didn’t recognize and one of Tony’s father Howard Stark. Was she all that surprised to see that the two looked a lot alike? Not really. And they both seemed to have a sense of arrogance about them, and on his paperwork; just like it says on Tony’s, the word genius was in all capitals. Typical Starks, always wanting to draw attention to themselves while pretending they don’t.

The beautiful bottle of wine sat in one of his cabinets which did actually take her a while to go through. But she found it! Excitement built inside of her, she didn’t drink wine very often but aged wine was always something that was considered ‘fancy’ and Sharon Carter was anything but in her opinion. But here she was! Getting treated all fancy like by the man of her dreams… literally, when she was little and even… admittedly, into her adulthood, she dreamt about Steve Rogers and what it was like to be around him. Would you say her dreams lived up to the reality? No, reality was so much better.

She couldn’t help but skip from his apartment, locking the door behind her and back into hers. Into the kitchen she skipped, placing the bottle down with a gentle grace before pulling a pair of wine glasses from one of her cabinets and placed them on her counter. The next trick was to attempt to open the bottle. She got the cork screw in just fine but---with the bottle being as old as it was--- she was nearly red faced by the time Steve returned; knocking on his door like he always did.

Letting out a huge puff of air and leaning back against the counter top, she called out breathlessly, “In the kitchen. Geeze…” She said with a glare at the bottle in her hand. She wrapped her fingers around the wooden handle and attempted to give another pull, only to let out a disappointed grunt. “Well my goal was to have this poured before you got back but the cork as different plans!”
There was a small signal from Quill out of the corner of her eye that said she shouldn’t be addressing Rocket by a title but, it was too late and it already had gone to the little guy’s head before long. Especially when he turned his attention to Quill and began barking orders at him; this was something that Nikki had to cover her mouth in order to attempt not to laugh at the situation. She obviously didn’t realize how big of head it would have given Rocket to be called Sir Rocket; then again someone in that very room got a big head when Star-Lord was ever said aloud.

It was rather amusing to see Quill stand up for her, that was something she didn’t expect. He was unintentionally offering for her to stay aboard the ship with the very odd mixture of individuals who were the working for of the Guardians of the Galaxy. The raising of hands to show that Rocket wanted her to stay and the mimicking response from Groot with that smile was reassuring, maybe; for the first time in a long time, she was finally safe somewhere… ironically. And the romantic comment from Rocket which was obviously shot her way made her smile as she averted her gaze from him in embarrassment. She would have never pictured in a million years to see one of the famed creatures from her planet talking, much less hitting on her.

“Well,” She began softly shifting slightly where she sat, “I don’t know how your partner Gamora would feel about me staying. She… well we kind of got off on the wrong foot.”

“The wrong foot?” Rocket repeated as Nikki’s attention turned back to them.

“Yeah… I want to kill her sister; her sister led the assault and completed genocide of my people. So as you can imagine, bringing that up bothered me and me threatening her sister bothered her.”

“Nah!” Rocket said waving his paw which caused her to raise an eyebrow at him, “I’m sure she’s fine with it. Hell I’ll go ask her myself. Sir Rocket will take care of this!” With that he marched with way more confidence than he should have to get Gamora’s vote on Nikki staying or leaving. Groot gave her a final smile before following after Rocket.

“Quill there is a problem though…” She said softly, her hands pulling from the bed and sitting on her lap. Her thumbs began to dance together in a nervous fashion. “The Collector still has a bounty out for me. He’s offering 500,000 units for me; alive only. The bounty isn’t well known but the people who do know are some of the best in the galaxy. I… I don’t know where I would be safe.”
The second the phrase ‘I can see it in your eyes’ left Allan’s lips, she very quickly averted them from him. Crap crap crap! He was seeing through her and she didn’t want it to get out like this. Her face flashed a deep shade of red as she continued to eat in a sad attempt to ignore the man’s pressuring about the situation at hand. She didn’t want to dive any deeper with this crush of hers. And half the girls in the city felt the same way about him so why would her feelings make anything all the more special? After chewing more of her pancakes, she took a drink of her coffee. ..

Which she nearly spit all over him when he said claimed she was deeply in love with him and that he could arrange a date for them. “HA!” She said aloud, echoing around the restaurant before pointing her empty syrup covered fork at him. “First off, I never said I was in love with him! It’s just a fan girl crush of sorts; I’m sure there are women out there who are obsessed with him verses my little idea of ‘oh that would be cute’. Second off, even if you actually knew who he was I don’t think it would be a good idea for you to go spreading it around to people. He and the Merry Men are doing good things for the city and really should be keeping themselves under-wraps.” A small roll of her blue eyes was her first response which was followed by a playful twinkle in them with a curled smirk. She didn’t believe that Allan knew who Robin Hood was, the idea was intriguing and it was obvious she was interested in the possibility but logically, as much as she attempted to think logically, it wouldn’t be a good idea for anyone to know who the Merry Men were unless they were Merry Men.

“Speaking of doing good…” She said, her attention moving from her friend to the kitchen doors, “Aria, when you’re free I’ve got a proposition for you!” A small smile played across her lips, if her father was forcing her to go to the stupid banquet charity ball thingy with a bunch of rich class obnoxious brats, she surely didn’t want to go alone and have no one to talk to. Maybe if she begged, and pleaded and ask nicely, Aria would come along. She had the social stands and maybe there was a guy she was sweet on that she could bring. Plus it’s a masquerade theme, what girl doesn’t love to dress up!?
The matter of fact tone that came out of Quill’s mouth shot Nikki’s head up and she quickly washed away the tears from her cheeks and composed herself. Sure, she wasn’t aware how long he had been standing there but there was no way she’d want to admit to anyone, including him that she had been crying. Crying was a sign of weakness and right now, she couldn’t afford to display weakness in front of someone. No matter whom that someone is.

Listening to him speak was rather surprising, her face would react to the things he said. From dropped eyebrows to raised; small curls of a smile to drops of a frown and everything in between. At this moment, she didn’t feel the need to mask any other emotion aside from sadness. When he apologized for ever giving off the vibe that he would trade her for money, she sat upright, placing her small tan hands on each side of her listening closely to what he had to say. ‘Tricking’ her to go on vacation with him caused her to give him a small smile; her gaze moving down to the ground and once he finished speaking she gave a small nod. “It’s too bad you had intended on ditching me after that vacation; admittedly, I was looking forward to the idea.”

Sighing softly she continued, “I’ve lived in fear since my planet was destroyed of being sold off to some rich bastard as a display because I am the last of my people… at least that originated from the planet. So having that happened just made me witness one of the worst fears I have, so I ran. And you can’t blame me, in our line of work; money’s money no matter how you earn it. So naturally I assumed you’d do it, be the easiest money you could ever make; which is why I ran.” A small shrug lifted her shoulders, “But, I wouldn’t call you talking about being the Star-Lord as a lie, you lived up to the reputation you set for yourself.” A small smile curled her lips as she looked up at him with those chocolate brown eyes of hers. “You saved the galaxy, though, I didn’t honestly believe it when everyone told me it the was ‘The Star-Lord’ who did it, because of who I knew before.” Her eyes dropped slightly looking down at her feet as she kicked the toe of her shoe against the floor. “I owe you an apology too. I’m sorry I misjudged you at the Collectors. But I’m glad that our paths crossed again.”

“Quill! Are you upsetting her again!?” Rocket shouted as he hurried down the hall, Groot following behind him with long strides.

“It’s just a pleasant conversation Sir Rocket, I assure you.” Nikki said to him, addressing him by a title she had seemed to pull out of thin air… which was probably not the best idea with Rocket’s already huge echo.

“Sir Rocket.” He repeated with a grin sliding in the room as if wanting to create a barrier between Quill and Nikki. “I like that. You will address me as Sir Rocket from now on.” Rocket said before looking at Nikki, realizing the redness in her eyes before turning to Quill and pointing at her. “You made her cry?! Why the hell did you make her cry?!”

“No, please.” Nikki said quickly, jumping to Quill’s defense which caused Rocket’s ears to twitch before he turned to her direction. “I was crying over something else. Quill had nothing to do with it.”

“I am Groot.” Groot said, his large head picking through the doorway as his body bent forward.

“Nah, I don’t think she was crying about that; it had to be something Quill had done.”

Groot’s attention turned to Nikki as he repeated his sentence. “I am Groot.”

“Yes… you are…” She said in a slight confusion as a response, her eyebrows pressing together and her head jerking back slightly in a state of confusion.

“No,” Rocket began before stopping, “Well, yes he is Groot. But he said he can relate to your loss. He is the last of his kind as well.”

“Oh,” Nikki said in a bit of a surprised tone as he looked up at Groot. His face seemed almost calm, peaceful like as he looked down at her through the doorway; a gentle understanding of what she was going through. A smile crept across her lips as she nodded to him. “Thank you.”

“So anyway,” Rocket said jumping into the conversation and turning to Quill. “did I hear you say something about her leaving? Because that’s not going to happen, Sir Rocket forbids it.”
It’s funny to think there was a chance that something could have happened between Sharon Carter and Tony Stark, but it didn’t. Sharon didn’t want it, she had a feeling in her gut that someone would show up… someone who would remind her of the past and how important it was but someone she could also remind that the future is just as important. Would she have ever guessed it would be Captain America himself? Probably not, but her girl-ish childhood dreams always painted a picture of what it would be like to be in a relationship with the legend himself. Did she ever picture that he would be kissing her neck at this point in her life? That she’d be working for S.H.I.E.L.D., employed next to him and now finding something more than just a work relationship? No way! But to her, it was two different people; there was Captain America that the world knew and Steve Rogers, the Steve she knew.

“Much better.” She replied softly between the kisses against her neck. “But now my lips hurt.” Her voice was playful as she reached down and pulled his face from her neck, placing her full lips gently against his. After a few kisses she pulled back giving him a grin, flashing her straight white smile. “Much, much better! I can’t think of a single thing you can’t fix Steve.” With that she placed her forehead against his and opened her mouth to say more, only to be interrupted by a loud gurgling noise which instantly turned her face red. There was a moment of silence before she spoke again. “What kind of pizza do you want?”
Phloem, I don't know if you caught it but I did directly answer you back with my Marian post, we could hold a conversation until the others return.

The time down with the Guild I think threw everyone off.
