If there was one common rule about being a Merry Man, it was that access to Robert’s apartment was welcome at any time. And Gwen Hathaway stopped attempting to use wifi at her apartment and would just help herself into Robert’s on a regular basis. Especially since he had her starting to look into things, including but not limited to information about a Marian Anderson, the daughter of the police chief; as much as it seems like Robert had a thing for her, everyone in the gang knew better than to bring it up to him. Hopefully he had a decent reason to go after the police chief’s daughter… hopefully.

Gwen found herself sitting cross legged on Robert’s couch typing in a few things when the door opened. To her surprise she heard more than one voice which caused her to close her laptop and throw it in her backpack. “Robert hello!” She said, announcing herself that she was here. The voice he walked in with was very young and female, not something she recognized and a random woman in his house wouldn’t exactly look good. It’s a good thing everyone always came with a back-up plan.

By the time the two had entered the living room Gwen was picking up a box full of cleaning supplies. “I thought I’d be done before you go home like normal. Who is this?” She asked politely as the two rounded the corner.

“I’m Cassie are you… my cousin’s maid?” She asked questioningly looking around the room.

“Maid not really, I’m Gwen and let’s just say when I was in a pickle your cousin was the only one willing to be my lawyer aaaannnnddddd since I had no money to pay him back, I clean his apartment once a week.” She said with a nod before looking at Robert. It was a sad story but it held a lot of truth behind it. “Glad to hear you got your job back.” She said with a sweet smile before giving him a nod.

Then she snapped her fingers from under the box. “Oh yes! Last time I was here you had asked me to recommend a place to get a good drink and some nice food that might have arose while you were gone. Aunt Maddie’s English Pub has become a rather popular location. Every time I walk by it’s always busy. You should go see it some time.” With that and a nod she went to the door and pulled it open. “Good bye Robert and it was nice to meet you Cassie, see you two around.” With that she shut the door.

    ----
Aunt Maddie’s English Pub had become a popular location alright; many of the rich began to populate there as soon as it opened and it was intriguing enough that others soon followed. And one of those others just so happened to be a blonde haired blue eyed young woman with a simple pink dress that could or could not be ignored. As much as she’s wanted to try the pub, she truly didn’t wish to stand out too much. Taking a cab to the location she paid for it and climbed out before venturing inside.

Inside there were a lot of highly respected people minding their own business, talking and laughing with one another. Letting out a small sigh she walked to the bar and sat down. Another night at the bar, another drink down her throat and another… hopeful chance to running into Robin Hood… Who knows…
Blackcat moved quietly through the store after marking the line of where to go in the chalk. Everyone she made eye contact with she flagged them to her and pointed to the chalk in her hand then to the ground. It didn’t take long for people to get the people to understand what she meant and soon they were crawling out one by one. The puns her boyfriend was saying were really funny and she did her best not to laugh behind her mask as she guided people out of a traumatic situation; laughing while people are so stressed probably isn’t the best idea.

Working her way through the store, she got most of the people out before her attention turned to see Spider-Man holding someone by their hand. Her smile faded at the pause in Spider-Man’s face but someone drew her attention away from her boyfriend when they whispered to her. She gestured towards the exit in which she came from with the line of chalk and as she did so, a snapping noise echoed and the yell rang through the grocery store. Ignoring it, BlackCat ventured down the alleyways collecting people and getting them out. Something was… off, about the feeling of the building though. It was, hard to put her finger but something wasn’t right.

The situation finally claimed down when Spider-Man got the robbers tied up and she got the rest of the hostages out. And the two superheros took off. First stop, food. Second stop was the top of the Empire State Building. Upon arriving at the building, Lexi landed with a grace and removed her mask before taking a bit of her hot dog with a fierce hunger. Looking over at Peter as he landed, she chewed and swallowed, giving him a closed and full mouthed smile. “So.” She began after finishing her bite. “I have to ask…”

She bit her bottom lip slightly in thought, should she really ask… well she had to know. “When the robbers were getting taken out, I heard some of them screaming about Spider-Man breaking their wrist… what happened?” Her blue eyes glanced up at the black masked face. Sure he looked sleek in the black but she still loved the man underneath more than anything in the world and she didn’t want to think that her boyfriend, her Peter Parker could/would do something like breaking a man’s wrist.
The young woman continued to stir the potatoes. She felt like she was back in the kitchen of her home on her own planet enjoying the use of the kitchen with the family staff and her mom. She flicked some blue hair behind her head and watched as the potatoes danced under the wooden spoon and she couldn’t help but smile. This was a wonderful feeling and she never imagined doing something like this again.

It didn’t take long for the boys to return to the kitchen/dining area. Rick had retreated into his dashing costume for help with healing and she gave him a smile. But her attention quickly turned to Quill who proceeded to take over the potatoes. His comment about making good hashbrowns made her beam. But she shook her head softly at him, “Quill please don’t call me that,” She said gently to him, “We’re friends, formalities aren’t needed unless you want me to start addressing you as Prince or Captain from now on.” Her small body began to sway with the music as it started to play.

Drax was an unexpected entrance to the dining room and his barking about the blade caused everyone to stir and Nikki swallowed a laugh. “It just appeared.” She said with a shrug as he picked up the blade. “It’s a gorgeous piece of work, I’m sure it’s taken many lives.” That was apparently a good enough explanation from Nikki as Drax glared her down and left.

“Do you dance Princess?” Rick said with a smile on his face as he watched her sway to the music.

“I’m far from skilled but to some degree I guess you could say I do.” Nikki responded lightly as her body moved to the music.

Seeing something he could enjoy and rub in Quill’s face, Rick approached her and offered her his hand. “May I have this dance?” A laugh left Nikki as she gave a shrug and placed her hand in his. For wearing the suit he was surprisingly light weight and they moved around the dining room with grace and ease. Nikki never took into account how close Rick was holding her or the twinkle in his eye when he would dip her to the beats of the song; she just found it enjoyable and laughed. Even when he pulled her up from the dip and left barely any room between their faces, all she could do was smile. Much less shy than when she had danced with Quill before; this dancing around the dining room was fun and together as a team making the hashbrowns! How exciting!
Of course Sharon thought he’d say yes and kiss her, but that doesn’t mean that she didn’t have a worry. What if she wasn’t good enough for Captain America himself? What if she wasn’t this or that and he didn’t like something about her. It could be an ordeal but it wasn’t. He leaned forward and kissed her, enveloping his lips against hers. A shiver moved through her body as she placed her hand gently against his cheek and tilted her head. This was an amazing feeling and something she never wanted replaced!

The night was a magical one of simple situations met; relaxing on the couch, watching tv and kissing each other. It was simple, sweet and very much what they needed. Who knows when the next time they’d have a chance to be a couple again? Simply put they wanted to spend as much time together as they could and even when Steve left, she was still on a mental high thanks to her new boyfriend… god that felt good to think!

The next morning rolled around and like a good agent; she dressed in her shield clothing and began to venture into the meeting room. What she expected was the Avengers to be there; and her boyfriend, that handsome man in the Captain America outfit. Sitting next to Stark was uncomfortable but she kept dodging and avoiding any of his questions and comments he said. Sighing softly she ran her hands through her hair before looking up at Maria, someone she had known for a long time and even she gave her the look of ‘I’m sorry’ prior to Steve’s arrival.

The mood of the room began to shift as the questions arose about the Winter Soldier and what he stood for. The mention of Red Skull’s second in command made the group jump slightly and the mention of the camp made Sharon’s eyes flick to Steve, even she knew of that camp thanks to her Aunt’s stories. Her eyes widened slightly as she turned her attention back to Maria listening closely to what she had to say. But it wasn’t until it was mentioned that they were adding in two new people would be joining their little group of amazing individuals. The first person that walked in surprised her a bit and the blonde turned her head away for a moment before looking back. Three years ago… it was three years ago but three years still wasn’t a long enough time for past feelings not to disappear.

“Sharon.” Brock said softly with a tender smile to her. Sharon looked back up at him, and returned his smile with a standard smile she gave everyone, even Stark. “Brock, nice to see you.”

“Heard you had gotten in with the Avengers, good for you.” Brock said softly with a nod and a smile. They used to care about each other in a romantic fashion but not anymore… at least Sharon hoped that was a case.

“It’s been an experience.” She said with a small laugh before looking at the new person that had entered. It was hard to believe that these people would join them.

Soon they were suiting up ready go to and as Natasha and Sharon left, Brock fell into step with her. “Sharon, when we’re all done for the day, do you want to go out for a drink or…”

“Brock,” Sharon said softly as she adjusted the sleeve of her body suit. “I’m flattered but what we had is over and besides I… I’m already seeing someone.”

That got Natasha’s attention rather quickly; her red hair jerked looking up at Sharon with a sense of shock. Sharon, on the other hand, kept her attention forward, a small smirk playing on her face as she straightened out her suite and rounded the corner to load into the back of the hummer truck for the ride. “Captain.” Sharon said as they climbed into the back giving him a nod. Going past him, she took a seat and Natasha sat across from her, her eyes flicking between Sharon and Steve. Sharon kept her attention away from Natasha not giving her any ideas but, it was too late. The redhead smirked hard indicating that she had figured it out and the blonde merely shrugged.

“Captain.” Sharon started, turning her attention to him as he arrived in the back of the truck. “What can we expect from this location? Could there be hidden land mines or traps that we should be aware of?”
Thanks Belated you as well, keep in touch!

The annoucement of them being a couple, in a relationship probably wouldn’t be taken too well. The Avengers were a huge deal and having them be single was a great publicity thing. It wasn’t uncommon to see signs that claim someone wants to marry them out along the streets or talks of what someone would do to win over an Avenger. Even within the office girls and guys alike plot ideas and make plans on how to win over one of the Avengers but no one has had the guts to go through with them. Listening to the men plan over how to win Black Widow’s heart was always funny and the girl’s idea of ‘what the men would want’ was always humorous as well. But she never thought she’d be here, face to face with Captain America and hear him say that they were in a relationship.

He stumbled over his words like the awkward kid from Brooklyn that he still was on the inside. It was great to see that his outside appearance hasn’t changed his noble and modest heart. Sharon liked him, she really did and could you blame her? She had wanted him ever since she was a child. Reaching forward she placed both her small hands on his face and rested her forehead against his. “You’re not the only one who’s assuming that we’re in a relationship Steve, I’m thinking the same thing.” She said with a small nod as a smile moved across her face. “So if you want to call this a relationship, know that I do as well. And if you want ‘seal the deal’ you need to do it with a kiss.”
Marian did, in fact, catch that Robert said so quickly through his teeth and she just rolled her eyes. Her dad, always the overly protective one, but she could understand where he was coming from. Before she could open her mouth to say something back to him, someone appeared in the doorway and gave them a questioning look. It doesn’t seem like it matters how many times she tells people that nothing is happening between her and Locksley; they’re always assuming something and more office rumors will fly…

She gave Robert a small nod of good bye before taking a long drink of her coffee. Today was going to be a long day.

During the time that Robert was out of the office, Marian played her role in the courts typing away on the computer and documenting everything that was said, “he stole this from me” “he stole that from me”; it was nothing new or interesting to her. She had heard all the excuses before and all the lies, so she was paying attention but not really. Her mind was back on Robin Hood; would she see him again? Would her dad ever have any luck catching him? And who was he? Obvious questions with an obvious answer ‘Who knows?’.

Upon the finishing of the trail, Marian packed up her stuff and left the courtroom. A small walk took her down the hallway before she nearly ran into her father. “Dad!” She said with a large amount of surprise as she nearly ran had first into her large father.

“Ah Marian,” He said with delight in his voice, “I’m glad I was able to find you, I have someone I want to introduce you to.”

    “Oh I don’t know…”

A man stepped out from behind her father in the small hallway they had encountered each other in. He was dressed in a sharp blue suit with spiked dark brown hair and deep hazel eyes, a smile moved across his face lifting his casual five-o-clock shadowed mustache and beard. Marian was a bit shocked by the guy, he was younger than her father but older than her. He held himself in a manner that said he knew a lot but wasn’t going to rub it in your face and his charming white smile seemed inviting to talk to him. “Marian, this is FBI agent Guy Gibson. He’s been assigned from the agency to help with the Robin Hood case and will be going between the police station and here.”

“Oh okay.” Marian said, finding herself staring at the man who continued to smile at her, as if waiting his turn politely to speak. “Hello, I’m Marian.” She said extending her hand to him.

“I guess my introduction isn’t necessary but hello, I’m Guy.” He said with a playful grin and shook her hand. His handshake matched his demeanor well. He knew a lot but he wasn’t going to consistently remind you of it.

“If you need any help around the office or town you’re more than welcome to come find me.” Marian said, speaking without really thinking and getting a dirty look from her father, which she responded with glances of ‘I’m just trying to be nice’.

“I shall, I appreciate all the help I can get. Plus I’m sure I’ll need suggestions for a good place to eat lunches. I don’t get to New York City very often so this is quite a treat for me.” Guy said with a casual shrug and a playful twinkle in his eye before Frank coughed lightly.

“Where is Locksley?” He asked his daughter, finally pulling her attention away from the agent.

“Oh.” She said shaking her head slightly and shooting her blue gaze to her father. “I’m sure he’s back from the station by now, maybe in his office? I’d check there first.”

“Thank you. Come along Mister Gibson, I’ll introduce you to the man you’ll be working with.” Frank said before starting down the hallway.

“See you around.” Guy said pleasantly before starting down the hall and giving one final glance over his shoulder to her with a smile.

“Bye…” Marian said, her voice dragging a bit unexpectedly as she turned on her heel and started back down the hallway…

Again she ran into someone! But she wasn’t the one who stumbled, though she probably should have since her mind was elsewhere. “Oh are you alright?” She asked quickly helping the young girl to her feet.

    “I’m fine thanks.”

“I don’t believe I know you.” Marian said gently to the young girl with a smile. “I’m Marian, Marian Anderson.”

“Oh, I’m Cassie, Cassie Locksley. I’m Robert’s cousin.” Cassie said as they shook hands.

“Oh wonderful. Welcome to New York City. I’m sorry you got drug here.” Marian said with a pout. Why would Robert drag her to his work; that’s no place fun. “You know.” Marian began, a small smile curling her lips. “I’m in the mood for some cheesecake. Have you ever had New York City’s cheesecake?”

Cassie’s eyes went wide. “No! This is my first time in NYC.”

“And you’re stuck here? That’s a shame. Come on, your cousin will understand you’re with me so you’ll be fine. Let’s go get some cheesecake!” With that the girls were off.

Surprisingly enough they hit it off rather well. Joking and laughing and talking about nonsense-girly-things that Marian actually felt comfortable. They swapped information with each other about random topics and gossip. For being a 17 year old girl, Cassie showed some rather high intelligence but her obsession with Robin Hood and the Merry Men was even higher than Marian’s but it was a hot topic between the two of them. The mention of her being on the news came up and Marian told Cassie the true story and she even got to hear how much Marian enjoyed the walk and how much of a gentleman Robin Hood actually was towards her.

The conversation ended when Cassie and Marian returned to the courthouse and Marian left her with a good thought. “Robin Hood’s a good man, I just wish; like everyone else, I knew more about him.” With that Cassie left to track down her cousin and Marian returned to her office, happy to know she made a new friend and got to meet the new FBI agent; it hasn’t been a bad day actually!
Nikki didn’t expect this kindness from the Nova, so as you can imagine her smile was bright and her body actions were relaxed and ready for some form of peace and quiet around the ship. That was her original hope until the boys came out to play. Quill seemed a bit, uneasy and the way Rick approached Quill did not come across as a very pleasant one. But then again, Rick seemed to be a bit hard when you first meet him but after the talk last night, she did feel like there was something more to him than meets the eye.

Though she couldn’t help but smile at Quill when he arrived and the comment about the suit made her laugh softly. The Nova Suits were rather incredible, so it wasn’t surprising to hear that it could sustain the large man through space and when he said he enjoyed company that made Nikki grin at him. She had begun to like people again so finding someone who was willing to spend time with her was a wonderful thing. And him openly admitting that he wouldn’t mind spending time with people in general was a good thing. Even if the people weren’t exactly the best of their kind, they were good people and hopefully he’d get a chance to see that.

When Quill left, Nikki turned her attention back to Rick and opened her mouth to say something, only to have the ship jerk from under her and her tumbling and nearly falling backwards onto the floor. The colorful words and scream of pain/surprise drew her attention to the Nova watching him jump back from the potatoes. Then her gaze moved to Quill who said something about an asteroid field, it made sense; I mean, they were in space.

As Rick excused himself, she assured him she would watch over the potatoes and stepped in as the stirrer to insure they wouldn’t burn. Her ears twitched slightly as if looking for the music that should be playing throughout the ship. Sadly there was none yet and she let out a small sigh.

“Good morning beautiful!” A small voice said from behind her. Rocket had made his way down the hall and climbed upon a chair without her hearing him.

“Good morning Sir Rocket. Did you sleep peacefully?” She asked with a brightness to her voice as she stirred the potatoes, in her mind it’s been a good morning so far!

“I did, thank you for asking.” His voice still filled with pride that she would call him Sir Rocket. “I have something for you. It’s nothing big but I saw it and thought of you.”

With that she turned around to see his little arms stretched out holding a good sized bowie knife in a sheath.
“Is… is that for me?” She asked, her voice stumbling slightly.

“Well yeah.” He said with an innocent shrug as she took the weapon from him.

She unsheathed it and examined it with great detail. Two sets of footsteps were heard coming back down the hallway, one obviously the Nova back in his suit and the other sounded a lot like Quill’s. “Oh Sir Rocket…” She began, a softness to her voice unlike any other time. “This… this is wonderful. Thank you…”She slowly put the blade back into the sheath. “This is the first gift anyone has ever given me since my people were killed…” With that she reached down and picked up Rocket from the chair and wrapped her arms around him. Not feeling the new sets of eyes upon her she embraced Rocket in a hug, her voice filled with a mix of joy and sadness. “Thank you. Thank you so much…”

At first, Rocket really didn’t know what to do. He was confused as Nikki picked him up off of the table but as she hugged him, he realized what was going on and wrapped his small arms around her neck returning the hug. A small sniffle left Nikki as she placed him back down on the table and turned back to the stove, placing the blade on the counter and stirred the potatoes.

Behind her, unseen, Rocket climbed down and started towards the hallway only to see the two men walking into the room. He gave them an arrogant smile before disappearing down the hallway walking with a large sense of pride.
Sharon’s heart sank a bit when he said that he wanted her to hold the thought and he got up from her. What was the thought she was thinking? Or supposed to be thinking? She was, at first, thinking about how good looking he was, how amazing he was and how wonderful he treated her. Then she had begun to think about what Director Fury would say if he found out about their relationship. Or whatever this is? The thought disappeared as she watched him walk out the door and she continued to think about them together instead.

When he returned, he came back with a notebook and a pencil. Her eyebrows raised slightly as he sat down in front of her. But they kept their conversation light and fun, she gave him a small smile as he talked and she responded. It wasn’t until he turned the picture to her that his eyes went wide and bright in surprise as she reached forward and took the notebook from him.

“Oh my god Steve this is incredible!” She shot her blue eyes up looking at him in the face. “It looks like a photo! Wow!” Her gaze moved back to the drawing in shock. She handed the book back to him before leaning forward. “What else can you do Steve?”
