Lexi rocked gently back and forth on her heels as she waited for Peter to open the door. It was still chilly outside, snow falling and Christmas was poking its head around the corner. A smile moved across her face as she saw a few of the neighborhood kids playing on the streets throwing snowballs at each other and wearing Spider-Man jackets. Peter truly was a hero in the eyes of the city, though people were still skeptical, the children never seemed to lost faith in him. He was a hero to many, and a hero to her. But it wasn’t just Spider-Man that was her hero; it truly was Peter Parker.

Hurried footsteps echoed towards the door and the raven haired girl turned her attention quickly to the door as the handle jiggled. A smile moved across her full lips at the sight of her boyfriend, though stepping into the house she wasn’t quite sure where this was going. Her gaze moved around, no greeting from Aunt May, the lights were dimmed and the place seemed to have a dramatic feel. When he began she didn’t really want to look at him; oh god, was this the break up meeting?! But when he began to explain exactly what was so important, her body relaxed and she turned to face him with a tender closed lipped smile.

Following him into the kitchen she found a rather unexpected (but kind of needed) surprise awaiting her. Walking to the plate with the framed photo she had asked for, she picked it up with both hands. Her thumb gently ran along the frame of the picture as she examined their smiling faces. From the time the picture was taken until now, they had been through a lot and yet here they were, standing with each other surrounded by the smell of grill cheese and French fries/tater tots with a dimmed romantic light and the cheesy rose in the middle of the table. For all that was said and done, this was something they needed; something they needed together and not in their Super-Hero personas.

“We’ve been through a lot…” She began softly, almost talking to the picture more than she was talking to Peter. “Traditional relationships don’t involve fighting crime and free-falling off a thirty story building for giggles.” A small laugh left her as she placed the picture gently down next to her plate and turned to Peter. “I don’t need blue and red spandex, I don’t need super-speed or web shooters.” She stepped to him, “I don’t need a crime fighting hero, I just need my best friend and my boyfriend.” Slipping her arms around his neck, she leaned gently against him, “Peter Parker is not a part of Spider-Man. Spider-Man is a part of Peter Parker. Give or take that part; it’s not who I fell in love with. I fell in love with Peter Parker and even if Spider-Man goes away; it’s not going to stop me from loving you.”

She rested her head gently on his shoulder, her fingers dancing along his back as she faced his neck. “We’ll get passed this; it’s just a relationship bump that all couples face. It’s just… as we are far from a ‘normal’ couple; our problems are just a bit different. But…” She pulled her head off of his shoulder, looking up at him with her bright blue eyes. “We will get through it and be stronger than ever.” Leaning up, she gave him a gentle loving kiss before pulling back, sniffing the air. “I think the fries and tater tots are done. I probably should let you go so they don’t burn…” She said with a laugh as she slid herself out of Peter’s arms and pulled out her chair at the table. This should be a good night.

Biography – Everyone loves to think that they have a normal life; my life growing up wasn’t too bad. My father was disfigured in a horrible accident and my mother died in child birth. My father wears a mask over the left side of his face, saying that he doesn’t want his precious angel to have to see him in such a state and would rather her remember him for being the loving father than the damage the accident had caused. My father loves me and what more can I say than I’m ‘daddy’s little girl’.

I’m far from broke. My dad makes a lot of money and loves to let me have access to credit cards that he gives me money to pay off. So far the price has never been too big for him to not want to purchase me something. I’ve traveled the world, seen many things, know a few different languages and even learned some hand to hand combat skills from my time overseas! But nothing is better than coming home and settling back down. Don’t get me wrong, the parties people throw around here are amazing and mingling with people is SO fun but at the same time; I’d get too bored if I didn’t find something to pass my time with.

You’d never know that the girl in converse with an oversized sweatshirt walking the streets of Gotham was a multi-millionaire but she was. I like to stay simple and keep things easy on me by not drawing attention to myself when I have to. I even got a job… right how often do you hear of someone rich having a job job? Anyway I’m a photographer for the Gotham Gazette, and they’ve even let me start writing some stories. Nothing fancy, just some things here and there but it’s good honest work and I don’t feel like I’m relying too much on my father at this point.

The biggest news buzzing around the Gazette is Wayne Industries finally has an heir to its business and fortune. I may be new to the reporting scene, and I may not be a well-known rich person but that doesn’t stop me from having access to the rich and powerful. If anyone’s going to find out who is taking over Wayne Industries first it’s going to be me… how you ask? Well some new face as got to show up to the rich parties sooner or later. Maybe it’s time to put daddy’s credit card to use once again and throw a party of my own. A lavish party with music, dancing, drinks and good food; plus beautiful people who can help make connections, who wouldn’t want to be there? The life of the wealthy is all about the connections and let’s face it, a couple shots of the party is nearly front page news anyway to see who’s talking to who…

See, I’m more intelligent than people give my blonde hair credit for (I get it from my dad) and my caramel colored eyes from my mom. I’m not too tall, only five foot five inches but I work hard to keep myself in shape. I won’t lie, I like the rich things in life; shopping, eating at fancy delicious places, lavish houses and amazing cars… but dressing up in a simple outfit and going out to do simple things is nice too.

Dad’s been very clear though, if I’m going to go out at night he expects me to call this cab company he runs. I humor him by doing do. He’s a good man and it’s obvious he loves me. What does he do for a job… well I don’t know actually… never asked. But he loves me, makes lots of money and when I see him, he seems happy; so I don’t really care what he does…

    Should I care…
It took all of her being not to jump at Yondu the moment he whistled and sent the golden arrow went flying at Quill’s chest. This was the guy that raised him? That was hard to believe but then again, the more Quill talked, the more she realized that even though he was raised by them, he really knew how to manipulate them. Her gaze flicked to Gamora as she held up a gun, a gun that Nikki did recognize but the green skinned woman’s actions and expression was so calm that her stomach pulled; the fear that Gamora might actually pull the trigger was there. Little was Nikki aware that the gun couldn’t be fired unless it was in Quill’s hands…

She swallowed hard before turning her shocked expression to the crowd of men in front of her. “I’d like to remind everyone that I’m worth more alive. A lot more…” Her voice was in a small amount of fear in her voice as she continued to struggle with the bracelets in an attempt to get them off.

His talk about the Talon’s made her have a shocked expression on her face, she repeated the words softly to herself, “Going after the Talons, that’s crazy…” She muttered staring down at the floor, “They’re the most deadly group in the galaxy… taking them out would make these guys…” Her chocolate gaze flicked up, seeing that one of the guys near her happened to hear her muttering and was able to put two and two together that she was referring to them being more dangerous. His eerie smirk made her visually shiver before she stepped a little closer to the gun, which caused the once smirking individual to try to lunge forward.

“Whoa whoa there…” Rocket said coming around from behind the two women and holding his small paw towards the Ravager who almost came towards Nikki. “She’s ours. And there’s no telling how much patience Gamora has compared to the rest of us. The more you push herm the more likely she is to blow this pretty young thing’s head off. Besides…” Rocket said making his way to Nikki’s other side. “She’s not as dangerous as she looks.” With that he reached a small paw up and smacked her hard on the butt, the sound echoing with a thump around the lounge. Laughter rang from the dining area as Nikki let out a yip of surprise. During the laughter from the Ravagers she shot a death glare to Rocket who seemed to ignore it, finding some personal humor in what he had done after Nikki and Quill giving her a disgusted look over claiming she had killed one of his people.

She slid passed Rocket, the gun following her head as Gamora turned and didn’t move; she moved to Quill batting her long eyelashes. “Come on Quill, Captain, Star-Lord; however you want to be called. I can help….” She stopped batting her eyes and looked towards Yondu before looking back at Quill, “If you’ve never met the Talons, help is something you’ll need and I can be that help.” With that she batted her eyes more, the cooing of the men around her indicated that even they wanted to believe her. “I’m not as bad as you think… Take off the cuffs and I’ll behave…” She said gently holding up her wrists to him, an innocent pouting expression on her face.
If there was one person that Lexi Rogers always had faith in, it was Peter Parker. When she first met Peter, he refused to talk to her due to the amount of shyness he had. But unlike the world, she kept at it. Spending countless times in class and at recess when they were young attempting to get him to talk to her. It did take Harry befriending him first before he’d actually start to hold a conversation with her. It was a few words were and there at first. It took a while for Peter to start talking to her first, and it was hard to believe that she was sitting on the empire state building, eating a hot dog with Peter Parker, the amazing man who saved her life, is a super-hero saving the city and is now her boyfriend.

She remembered the first time Peter shared his past with her. She found herself as a young girl banging on Peter’s door heart broke and crying. Harry told her not to worry about it and to get over it but she couldn’t, she was heart-broken by her first crush. Peter opened the door looking confused to see a crying Lexi. After about an hour of crying on his shoulder he spoke kindly to her, telling her everything would be okay; brought her some water and took her down to the park. They spent hours at the park that day sitting on the swings swinging back and forth and talking. Peter finally warmed up to her to share with her his background. He was Lexi’s first experience with someone who wasn’t as well off as she was. But in that same sense, she found more love and family within the three people there then with her family. But over time, Lexi’s parents learned to slow down so they could spend time with their daughter.

They didn’t stop Aunt May and Uncle Ben from having Lexi over consistently and inviting her to do things with the family and in exchange, Peter got a lot to do things with her family as well. The best thing for Lexi was win she accidently called them Aunt and Uncle and in apologizing they told her she didn’t need to. If she wanted to call them her Aunt and Uncle as well, she was welcome to. That really meant a lot to her; as she expected, her parents didn’t give Peter that same option but he never expressed that it bothered him. From then on, she had found another family that proudly called her part of their own.

Another family member that she loved dearly was her ‘uncle’ Matt. It was never a mystery that he would be her legal guardian if something happened to her parents and she was okay with this. Matt had a good sense of humor, especially for being blind. His favorite joke was to ask if it was dark in a room and the reaction from some people would be worth it, and even he would chuckle at his own jokes from time to time.

“So Lexi…” He said, in that questioning father tone he sometimes gave her as he sat at the kitchen table listening to Lexi make something for lunch while her parents were out doing things. “Tell me about Peter.”

    “You already know about Peter.”

“Well tell me something I don’t know.”

To that Lexi smirked, knowing full well that Matt couldn’t see it but that didn’t stop her from doing it. “There’s a lot about him that you wouldn’t know Uncle Matt. Probably the biggest thing you wouldn’t know about him is that, even though the situation happened; he’s the nicest guy I’ve ever met…” The cough from the table made her laugh, “Yes, even more than you.”

“Hey…” He said sticking his hands out, ‘I’m a nice guy.”

“I never said you weren’t nice, I just said you weren’t the nicest.”

“Fine, fair enough.” Matt said dropping his arms to his side with a sigh. “So tell me about this Spider-Man.” With that Lexi was off in her fan girl style; but Matt was listening more to her actions then her words. Her heart picked up speed, skipping beats every time she mentioned the word ‘Spider-Man’ or references of him, he or his. She didn’t vocalize much about Black Cat but spoke enough about Spider-Man to prove that she was, in fact, a fan. But was she a fan or was there a personal connection. “Interesting…” He said softly listening to her as she spoke. Upon him speaking like that, her voice dropped slightly and he could hear it. “Have you changed the type of clothing you wear?” He asked randomly.

A confused look moved across Lexi’s face as she looked over her shoulder. “No… why?”

“Sorry for talking about your personal belongings.” He said with laugh holding up his hands. “Didn’t mean to talk about your personal whatevers but it just smells like you have a different fabric you’ve been wearing since the last time I saw you…”

“I am a foot taller.” She said with a grin and a laugh, “A girl has to change the type of clothes she wears when she grows taller.”

“Whatever you say,” Matt said shaking his head. But something about Spider-Man troubled him, her reaction said more than just a fan-girl crush and the intense heart-rate said that he meant more to her than the average person. “So tell me Lexi; if you had to choose between Spider-Man or Peter, who would you p…”

“Peter.” She said quickly and without hesitation. “That’s probably the easiest question you have asked anyone.”

Her heart-rate didn’t change, so it was obvious that she was telling the truth. A good hour was spent grilling her about Peter which she answered all the questions. He listened closely to all of her reactions to his statements and her responses. She loved Peter, there was no doubt about that, but her reaction to the Peter questions matches the same with Spider-Man… hmm….

Buzz Buzz… Lexi’s phone buzzed and she pulled out it to see a text from Peter telling her that she needed to come over to right away, it’s very important. Speaking kindly to Matt she excused herself claiming that Peter need to some over to his place. Matt just rolled his eyes and waved his hand giving her the okay to go before she hurried out of the house.

It didn’t too long before Lexi was knocking on Peter’s door.
Nikki took her time joining everyone outside of her room. She changed back into her normal clothes with a pair of blue jeans and a black tank top with her beloved maroon overcoat. Sliding her father’s blade onto her back, she couldn’t help but laugh to herself. She was married now, well not really married married but the paper said they were. “Mom and dad….” She said softly, “I know it’s not the best way to have your daughter married but, well you’d want me to live my life outside of politics. I can promise one thing…” A small smile moved across her full lips as she looked up at the ceiling of her room, “I know I’ll be happy.” Did she mean that she would be happy being free in the galaxy or did she mean she’d be happy with Quill… or both?

She expected there to be some attitude about the situation but what she didn’t expect was to find Gamora standing outside of her room. “Look I get why you did it…” She began pulling herself off of the wall and facing Nikki, “And while I won’t say that I’m happy about it, I will say that I’m impressed you thought of it.” She said with a nod. “Maybe Quill was right; you really are one of us.” There was a silent exchange of understanding between the two women before Gamora began to tell Nikki of Quill’s ridiculous plan….

“What was he thinking?!” Nikki said at first before crunching her eyebrows together in thought… “That’s brilliant.” She said quietly before looking up at Gamora. “No one in the galaxy are going to know the location of the Talon’s except the only people who would be able to stop them… aside from you guys.” Bringing her hand up to her chin she began to tap it with her pointer finger. “From what I hear, he’s not too happy with you guys. Not only is he made about the stone, but he also doesn’t feel like you guys are any good at your jobs…” Before Gamora could make some form of a comment, Nikki held up her hand. “Listen it’s a jealousy thing; anyone in the bounty hunter business likes to think that you guys can’t do your jobs so we feel better about ourselves.”

    “But what if…”
“He thought you guys could do your job… not just do your job but do something no one else could do… he might take you seriously if you guys came in and said that the Talons were a threat to them. If they think their reputation is in trouble of being the baddest group out there…”Her gaze shifted back to Gamora before holding up her hand, “No offense,” After Gamora gave a shrug Nikki continued, “He’d be more inclined to help, especially if...”

“He thought his reputation is in danger.” Gamora said finishing her sentence. “But we would need something to show off to prove that we are good at our jobs, so if we were to show up saying the Talons would be causing problems; he’d take it seriously.” To that, all Nikki could do was smirk.

    ------

The Ravager ship was filled with a bunch of misfits men from all races of aliens around the galaxy under one roof with one ultimate goal; to make money. The ship was a buzz of booze and card games. Laughing, drinking and a bit of hitting one another echoed around the bay of the ship. The group talked about many things; money, women, drinks, money, gambling, women and more money. Hoots and howlers echoed along with groans of disappointment from the losers of the card games. That was until one of the doors slid open.

The groups’ attention turned up expecting to see the leader venture in but instead there was nothing for a moment… that was until a body slid in. The curvy body of a woman entered the party room. Cigars fell to the floor in surprise, drinks dripped out of opened mouths and card hands were forgotten the instant the shapely woman got inside. “Hello boys.” The blue haired woman said with a smile across her full lips. The rocking of her hips as she walked in caused heads to sway with the motion. Silence filled the room as the men stared at her, shocked of the woman’s presence, half lust filled and very few realizing exactly who she was.

One man finally got to his feet, the second in command to Yondu. His hands placed gently until his hips as he scanned her up and down. The smile across his face showed his highly un-kept teeth, “Well hello gorgeous.” He said with his smile pushing harder into a grin. “You’re quite a sight.”

“Thank you.” Nikki said in a causal tone as she stopped her walk and stood a good couple feet away from the large group of men.

“Both beauty and the dollar sign that hangs above your head; I’m half tempted to keep you for myself….” There were shouts of disagreement around the room of ‘no she’s mine’, and ‘yeah right, she belongs to me’. The ‘I saw her first game’ came into effect almost instantly until Nikki coughed lightly to get their attention. “So you know who I am?”

“Never caught your name beautiful…” The standing one said, “But I know what you are and exactly how much is offered for you.”

“Then you know that you can’t have me…” At that moment everyone was on their feet, as if accepting the challenge to see who could get her first. Guns began getting pulled out but the decision of who to aim it at became confusion. The rotation of having the guns aimed at her, then the guns aimed at each other.

“Boys boys boys…” She said getting all their attention, guns aimed at her. “You can’t have me… because I’m already taken.” With that and a wave of her hands she used her telekinesis to pull the guns from the guys’ hands and had them all facing the men. Loaded and locked the men who seemed rather surprised; holding up their hands at their own guns.

Another body slid inside the room. A green skinned woman slid up behind Nikki with a grace much like her friend’s. “Nikki, let them go…” She said softly to the blue haired girl who seemed to be smirking. Gamora reached her hand up and placed it gently unto Nikki’s. “Don’t… make me….” The woman said in a harsh manner which caused Nikki to flinch. The Metra threw the guns behind the two women completely out of their reach. Gamora took a hold of Nikki’s arm and twisted it behind her back. “Stay calm, we only let you out for a moment….”
Nikki shot Gamora an evil glare before looking back at the men. “Look how she treats me…” She said, pity to her voice, a pout on her face and the men seeming to fall for it. Gamora turned the blue haired girl around and placed a thin black wrist band on each of her wrists, “Damnit…” She muttered under her breath before Gamora let her go. Nikki attempted to pull off the bracelets but they wouldn’t budge while glaring at the green skinned woman.

“We’d like to speak to Yondu.” Gamora said looking over at Nikki before looking back at them, “Don’t worry she’s harmless.” Which was true, she was harmless. But the death glare from Nikki to Gamora would say otherwise for anyone who didn’t know Nikki as well as the group did. Nikki needed to seem dangerous, need to seem innocent and needed to seem caught. And the girls felt like they got that across pretty damn well. The details of their little plan wasn’t given out completely but they did inform the group that Nikki would act like she was being a hostage and transported to the Collector when they saw fit. And pointed out that ‘capturing’ one of the biggest prizes currently in the galaxy would show Yondu they really were good enough to hold the title of Guardians of the Galaxy but still be bounty hunters…
“My child, you’re new to Robin’s cause.” The Friar said gently to Marian as they worked together to put the cleaning products away and start a load of laundry to help clean the blood covered clothing.

“I am father, I’m Marian Anderson; new recruit.” She said with a smile before looking over at the Friar who seemed to show a slightly bewildered look upon his face.

“You’re the daughter of the police chief.” He said, to which he received a nod. A smile moved across the man’s face as he looked back down at his work. “Blessed be the Lord, allowing us to have such a person to help with the cause. Tell me my child, do you wish to help the poor?”

“Yes father I do.” Marian said with honesty; giving a good nod and a small smile across her face as she finished putting the supplies away. “I’ve always wanted to; it’s been a passion of mine for quite some time but I’ve been denied to do so by my father. He didn’t want me to be a police officer and he knew I’d never want to be a lawyer; so I stayed in the court system…”

“This is a risky way to help the poor…”

“I’m aware of that Father, I’ve made my choice and will stick to it through thick and thin.”

The Friar stopped what he was doing and turned to face Marian. “I’m glad to hear that my child, because this could end up calling for a lot more than you know. Please, be mindful, be cautions and most importantly, never lose faith.” With that the two exited the back room to meet up with Robin and Cassie once more.

Marian was a bit twitterpatted seeing Robin bare chested. Her breathe caught in her chest and she felt her face explode into a red color. Small coughs of shyness left her as she shifted from side to side holding her purse; when he turned to talk to her, her blue eyes moved up to look at him though she wasn’t sure why she was suddenly embarrassed and/or shy but it happens. “Excitement is for sure.” She said with a small laugh, Cassie giving her a confused look before a quick look of understanding moved across the seventeen year old’s face.

“As much as I’d love to stay and chat,” Marian said reaching over and grabbing Cassie by her arm. “I have to take this one home and give her cousin a piece of my mind.”

“Wait, it wasn’t his fault…” Cassie began to defend Robert as Marian started to drag her out of the back room.

“Robin, Father; I will see you both later…” She called from behind her as she yanked the girl along.

The car ride was a heated discussion over what caused Cassie to be out and do something so stupid. Cassie defended Robert to the bitter end, stating that he knew nothing about her leaving and didn’t know that she was going to steal anything. “I bet he’s running the streets of New York City looking for me right now.” She said defending him, the only problem was that neither one of them had the ability to contact Robert because they didn’t have his cell phone number (needing Robert Locksley’s cell phone number… did Marian ever think that would be something she would ‘need’? Not in a million years). And apparently Marian couldn’t hit a single green light on her way back to the city.

“Tell me how to get Robert’s house or I’m taking you to the police station for the night.” Cassie’s jaw dropped as she looked at the driving blonde who just kept her attention straight ahead. “Those are your only choices.” She said shortly before Cassie finally started to give directions to Robert’s house. Again, they hit every red light attempting to get there.

Parking in the guest parking spot at the apartment complex Marian climbed out and Cassie reluctantly followed suite. “If Robert isn’t here, we’re sitting outside of the door. And if he is here he better be stressed to high hell in worry about you or he’s going to get a piece of my mind.” She said sharply to the girl wagging her finger. As they climbed the stairs, Marian’s rage dropped; her worry subsided knowing that Cassie was home, Robin was okay and the police will most likely be too bamboozled over the fact that they shot Robin Hood that they would forget about Cassie and her. There probably was a party at the station, thinking that if he was shot someone would have to go to the hospital for help; and they’d know exactly who it was. Or at least be able to narrow it down to suspects based off of the hospital report. That and, the cop that shot would probably get some form of raise. It’s the closest any officer could ever gotten Robin and they hope it won’t be the last. Hell, he had to be the hospital right?

Marian’s hand rose and she gave the door a shift knock. “Robert, Robert is Marian… I have someone here for you.” She said shooting Cassie a disapproving glare.

“I saw the way you looked at him…” Cassie said playfully, a smirk across her face and her gaze shooting up to Marian. Her face instantly turned red and before she could retort, the door handle began to move.
Listening to his beginning, Black Cat nodded, overlooking the city and agreeing to what he had to say. “Sounds like a plan Spidey.” She said with a closed like smile upon her face before turning to look at him. “Everyone makes mistakes. But correcting them is not what everyone does. Don’t worry my dear, we’ll get this all straightened out. I believe in you and I trust you.” Upon his explanation of the second thing he wanted to do, she bit down on her lower lip in thought.

“That could be harder than you think, but I’m sure between your smarts and my pestering skills, we’ll figure something out. I’m sure we can start small and work our way up. I don’t know who’d be protecting the guy and why he’s gotten away with these styles of things more than once but it will be the last time.” She said with a nod before lowering the flap over her lips. “The gallery filling shall begin, I hope you brought an card.” She said with a giggle as she followed him off the building.

Throughout the night they worked together and made sure there was a good mix of photos of Spider-Man by himself and with Black Cat, to show that they were still a team and that Black Cat still trusted Spider-Man. Little crimes fluttered the streets and it was something new for the duo. But the surprise on everyone’s face to see Spider-Man back in his red and blue seemed to invite a lot of questioning looks. Children instantly accepted at the truth Spider-Man had returned; their expression showing that they had never lost faith but their parents seemed a bit skeptical still.

Hesitancy was expected by the city and that’s what Spider-Man received. But even the criminals seemed more afraid of him than before; this is something that Lexi wasn’t sure if she should be happy or worried about. They surrendered a lot quickly at Spider-Man’s presence and the ending of all the things that were happening at night did very fast. Soon they were sitting on the empire state building, Black Cat requesting two hot dogs and two sodas before returning to their meeting spot and giving Spider-Man his, it was just easier than scaring the poor hot dog stand man who hadn’t seen that Spider-Man was back to his normal self.

“Get any good photos?” Lexi asked as she pulled off the mask to eat more comfortably.
What was this crazy girl doing? Why was she out in a city she didn’t know, with the cops chasing her down and pointing guns at her? The death glare was intense and even Cassie’s shoulders dropped as she made eye contact with the angry blonde. Not only was Cassie going to get her butt chewed out but Robert was as well. Why would he let her go out by herself?! Or maybe he didn’t know, he could be working late at the office and she snuck out. Either way Robert was going to get a piece of her mind when she saw him again about leaving his cousin unattended. Even though she’s 17; it is New York City and New York City has its temptations.

A horn blared and to her shock, a motor cycle flew between the two cop cars and stopped in front of the two girls. Hands up, she turned her attention to the driver to see it was Robin Hood. What did he want? Why was he here? Her face scrunched in confusion as he turned his attention to Cassie and held out his hand. What? What was going on? Ooohhh… after seeing the things that Cassie pulled out of her pocket and handed to Robin, her glare got even more stern. Why was she doing this? Did she have an obsession with Robin Hood as well… wait, what?

When Robin went to the police, Marian went straight to Cassie and grabbed her by her arm. “What on earth do you think you’re doing?”

    “That’s…”

“Yes we’ve established who he is, you know who I am and unless you want to get introduced to the cops you better tell me why the hell you’re running around New York City stealing stuff? Did you think you wouldn’t get caught?!”

“I just wanted to meet Robin Hood…”

“Stealing we’ll get you thrown into jail before a moment like this happened. You’re not going to meet someone, especially like him by trying to mimic what he does…”

The girl’s attention moved to Robin as he hollered to them. But the gunfire is obviously what got to them. Unlike Cassie who nearly jumped out of her skin towards Robin to help, Marian shoved her backwards, yanked open the car door and forced the bickering seventeen year old into the car. “Be safe.” She said quickly as she dashed around her small vehicle and jumped into the driver’s seat. Without anything else said or interrupted, her car roared to life and sped off.

“YOU’RE GOING TO LEAVE HIM THERE?!” Cassie screamed at Marian as she struggled to find the door handle in the expensive car.

“Cassie you don’t understand the situation that could have happened if we stayed…”

    “HE WAS SHOT!”

“And if we would have stayed we could have been shot or arrested. He can escape better if we’re not around. DO YOU KNOW NOTHING?!” Marian snapped harshly to the young girl who suddenly got quiet. “If you honestly wanted to be part of the Merry Men, you should have gone about it the other way. You’re stressing everyone out.” Her body tensed as she drove, her hand tightened against the steering wheel as she turned the corner and started south.

“Isn’t the south section of New York City dangerous?”

“Nothing is more dangerous than how pissed off I am at you right now.” Marian said darkly as she stared straight ahead in the drive. The drive was silent until they reached the church. Climbing out, she parked around back and slammed the door shut with anger. “Get up the stairs, now.” Marian thumped after the climbing teenager and opened the door to the church.

A man came up to them in surprise. “Welcome, what has brought you to the church today?” He asked softly, a gentle smile upon his face.

“Forgive us for the intrusion father. We are meeting a friend here for safety I was told to tell you, you get what you give.” Marian said as she shut the door behind them.

“I see,” The Friar said with a nod and a warm smile, “Come with me.” With that he led the young ladies to a back room and inside where there were tables, chairs, couches and other things to help one relax. Robin wasn’t kidding when he said that the Friar allowed them to lay low. Attached was a bathroom with a shower and blankets and pillows were neatly folded in the corner. Every church had a kitchen, for most Father’s lived within them.

A gentle gesture allowed the ladies to enter before the Friar stepped back out into the church taking in a deep relaxing breathe. That was until the front door opened once again; many lost souls find their way to his church so he wasn’t surprised to see someone else entering. What he didn’t expect was to find his friend nearly falling through the door. “Oh no. HELP!” He shouted to the people in the back and he took off down the walk way to the door. “Robin, Robin I’m here, it’s okay. I’ve got you.” He spoke in a calm manner to avoid sending the injured young man into a panic.

Marian and Cassie were soon to the men, Marian took one of Robin’s arms and the Friar took the other while Cassie led the way. “Miss,” Friar said to Marian as they laid Robin down on the couch, “Please get some wet towels and in the medicine cabinet is some cleaning supplies with a needle and thread. Can you retrieve them for me?”

“Yes of course.” Marian said and she was off.

Reaching up, the Friar pushed the hood back from his face, revealing the closed eyes of the young hero. “My friend, you always come injured and never to visit.” He said softly with a smile upon his face, reaching down he rolled up the fabric to reveal the bullet. It was stuck out and visible, which was a good sign that he didn’t have to dig for it. “Child.” The Friar said, address Cassie who held back a look of disapproval for being called a child. “This will be a lot of blood and he will be in a lot of pain if he returns to consciousness. Can you hold him down whilst I work?” All Cassie could do was nod and placed her hands on Robin’s shoulders. Upon Marian’s return, the skilled Friar went to work.

An hour had gone by and many towels covered in blood were put into the washer before the Friar declared him done and fixed. Marian and the Friar went into the laundry room where replacement clothes hung for means of a disguise and began to talk. Cassie was left unattended with the masked vigilante.

Her gaze moved along him, he had been through a lot and she had wanted to know so badly… her temptation got the best of her and her hand rose up, slowly and gently pulling down the handkerchief that had covered his face… what she saw was… was….
She impressed him again. Her heart was soaring and nothing could take her down at this moment. She was on cloud nine and helping people! Marian’s father would surely regret not allowing her to join the police force and fight for good in that sense; instead she was fighting against her father to help the poor. Isn’t it interesting how children never truly du e what you want them to do?

She listened closely to the safe house information and nodded; maybe that wasn’t the best sign that Guy seemed to know that some people like the Merry Men would have a safe house. But who would suspect a church. Though back in the olden times, a person would run into the church and claim sanctuary for safety. It’s only ironic and logically that they would seek the safety from everything in a church. But when he said he would look into Robert Locksley she nodded in agreement. “Please do, I do think he could become a problem.” She commented before giving him a smile and a nod. “Good bye, have a good night.”

Her walk to her car was pleasant; the sun was setting and gave a glow along the streets of New York City. Climbing into her little car, she began to go down the street humming to herself. She was an official member of the Merry Men and now she could finally help people in the way she’s wanting to. Finding herself nearly dancing to the music she got lost in it as she turned the corner and slammed on her breaks turning her car sharply; nearly hitting a small figure in black.

Jumping out of her car, Marian’s blue gaze landed on a horrified young girl, “Cassie?” She said in shock. “What are you doing running around in black on the streets of New York!? You should be home with Robert. What are you doing?!” The young girl seemed so stunned to see the blonde haired lady that she just stared at her and it wasn’t until the flashing police lights showed up and guns pointed at the two of them that Marian held up her hands and realized, with a death glare to Cassie, that the young girl had stolen something.
It was hard to believe they had just gone through everything that disgusting black ooze had caused and somehow, in some way, they came out alright. Her hurt cheek was nothing compared to the look of pure pain on Peter’s face when he realized what he had done. And worse off, she shows up to his house with a lawyer of all things. Sure… she probably should have thought that one through a little better or she could have sent him into a complete heart attack thinking he was going to get sued but that wasn’t the case. Way to look out for him Lexi, you idiot… she lectured herself in her mind before placing her hands on her hips and overlooking the city. It was so peaceful but, soon, it was going to get a new awakening; the realization that Spider-Man was back!

She could sense a presence behind her but it wasn’t threatening. Black Cat slowly turned around to see Spider-Man hanging upside down, her mouth piece was up and she showed her full lips and white teeth with her installed and sharpened canine teeth that she always wore. “Good to hear.” She said softly, reaching up and gently rolling down his mask so she could kiss him on the lips. It was nice to see that she could take off his mask if needed; when he was in the black suite there was never a reason to and, come to think of it, she never saw him actually take off the mask; it would always just sort of be, well gone.

Removing her lips from his she pulled the mask back up and gave him a smirk. “No more sleeping on the job Spidey.” She said with a purr to her voice as she stepped back from him and placed a foot on the rooftop’s edge. “So where do we begin?”
