Marian couldn’t take herself out of her office the whole day because she was so embarrassed. Though Guy found no reason not to enter her office; he’d come by to say hi, he’d chit chat with her for a bit and he’d even bring her some coffee. She nursed on that all day in desperation to move through the day and hope her embarrassment would be over. She didn’t even stick around long enough to see what his reaction was to her statements and she was half regretting doing so. Simply because she wanted to see what he would say and now she was chickening out.

It was on more than one occasion that the blonde put her head against her desk debating on what exactly she had asked Robert and if it was a good idea or not. There was a third time that the blonde pulled her head from her desk and stared at her computer screen, her hands tucked under her thighs as she stared blankly at her work that needed to be done. Well so much for completely anything today, she felt like she made a complete fool out of herself and now she couldn’t focus.

Her head jerked up hearing the knock on her door and she pulled her hands from under her before placing them on the arms of her chair. Turning, she found Robert Locksley poking his head in. It was a nice change from Guy continuously popping in and out of her office. As he spoke to her, her full lips curled into a small closed lip smile but all she could do is nod in a response to his ‘have a good night’ comment.

The next day went smoothly, she felt less embarrassed. Actually she felt excited, happy and she was going to give him information that he might be waiting for. The blonde waited until a half an hour before the office closed to walk by Robert’s office. She stopped, why was she so nervous, she shouldn’t be. Taking a deep breathe she rose a small hand up, the one not holding the papers and knocked. Slowly but surely she opened the door and poked her head inside. “Hey.” She said, grabbing Robert’s attention, surprised to her Guy was in the room with him. She gave Guy a small nod of acknowledgement before turning her blue gaze to the man she came to see. Sticking her free hand in through the crack of the door she pointed at Robert. “Don’t be late.” She said with a nod before leaving and shutting the door.

Saturday arrived and the blonde spent most of her morning and afternoon getting ready. Holding up different outfits to her body, feeling rather silly doing so but still throwing things behind her. Why was she stressed? It was just Robert. It’s not like she actually liked him or something… she just, had to know what he knew about Robin Hood; and throw him off the trail… which means that, going out on a date, no a not-date’ with him right? That’s… logical. At least that was the blonde’s excuse as she tossed the fifth outfit aside.

She didn’t want to admit it to anyone else including herself but she was really enjoying her time with Robert Locksley, He seemed like he had changed and that was really all she could ask from him. He was such… well such a jerk. And now he seemed nice, respectable, playful and fun. He came across as somewhat of a sarcastic-smart-ass but not a jerk and she was enjoying it. Between their run in at the bar to working together again, it was nice to see this new side of him and maybe he wasn’t as bad as he used to be. Maybe that’s why Marian could be around him, maybe that’s why Marian waned to… go out on a date with him.

Finally settling she let out a long sigh. A pair of white short shorts and a female fitted dark blue jersey labeled for the New York Yankees and a baseball cap over her head. Her feet were a pair of simple sandals and her clock clicked to 4:55pm. She lived in a small house just outside of the hustle and bustle of the city but Robert knew that already. Now, as she attempted not to stare out the window, the blonde waited.
They were going to leave; everything was going to be fine. Nightwing would be fine, the Electrocutioner would be behind bars and she could go home. Her dad looked, well he looked disgusting to put it lightly; but she could hear the calm love in his voice, the love of a father to a child as the two turned away from the hero and started out of the giant warehouse. She may not like the guy, but he did save her life a couple times so she felt a bit in debt to him. That was until the smoke pelt went off and the whole room filled of a thick gray smoke.

Her father snapped, shoving her away from him who caused her to stumble backwards and nearly fall to the ground. She caught herself though, her arms in a lot of pain compared to anything else and she couldn’t see! The voice of the Commissioner was the most heartbreaking thing she had ever heard. She had high hopes that her father would just let them go; there was no reason for all of this. But then again, she had just learned that her father was, in fact, a villain and villain’s don’t play by the rules.

As the banter went on she looked from left to right. She had a couple of options; one was to run for it, the other was to play stupid and the third was a lot more risky. Can you guess which route she chose? She took off in the direction of the Commissioner’s voice. Surround him were men with guns and though the room was filled from top to bottom with smoke, they kept their guns point at the Commissioner. Without giving it a second thought she began to take out the men in the darkness of the smoke one by one. Small thuds and cracks could be heard as she weaved from one to another knocking them unconscious. Go go go go go! She mentally urged herself as she went through the guards and got them knocked out. She couldn’t free the commissioner, she had no knife or anything but she pulled him to his feet and shoved him towards the door as a signal to go before she dashed away from him. Leaving the man baffled at what had happened, and hopefully he’d get the hint.

Her silent footsteps in the run took her towards the area where Nightwing had most likely gone. He wouldn’t have tried to get passed them; there were too many people at the time. Now there was just Two-Face and his daughter… who practically tripped over the hero who was lying on the floor. “Nightwing?” She said in a harsh whisper. Reaching out she felt the rubber of his suit and knew it was him. With that she jumped to her feet and grabbed him by his suit; with all the force she had she pulled him to his feet facing her. “Keep your smartass comments to yourself and let me do most of the talking.” Without giving a moment to explain herself further she put her little plan into action.

The smoke finally settled and Two-Face seemed to roar with disapproval of Nightwings actions but it wasn’t until he found the direction of Nightwing that he saw a horrible sight. “Dad…” The young blonde sobbed, Nightwing’s weapon pinned against her throat and her hands ‘pinned’ behind her back of his sight, “Dad… Ddddad…” Her voice was sobbing, tears rolling down her face. “Dad I want to go home. I need to see a doctor. My arms hurt really bad, I need to see a doctor! Please.,. dad…” Tears streamed down her cheeks and she was sobbing intensely, the tears was from the pain of her arms.
Though Charlie’s wasn’t a short man, Havardr towered over the man by a good foot and walking in together he could see over the man’s head. Again, the house was beautiful and that wasn’t something that he had expected. He also didn’t expect to find one of his ex-girlfriend’s sitting in the chair. His sister was always a fan of her, during the time they were dating and when Erin began to appear in films, maybe his sister set this up in hopes the two would end up back together. Oh she was going to get a talking to when he got home, but that thought was for a later time.

They didn’t end on bad terms, just had to part ways to better themselves educationally. According to his sister, Erin married and was now going through a nasty divorce. Havardr felt bad for her, she was an incredible person and didn’t deserve the additional stress that came with a divorce. Who would have thought he’d have the chance to help. “See your fame precedes you.” Charles said with a grin as Havardr and he sat down across from Erin on the couch. It was obvious the previous relationship wasn’t common knowledge and it felt only right that Havardr kept his mouth shut about it.

“Well mam’,” He began, his soft politeness ringing through showing his still gentle nature. “I worked for a few years as a bouncer at a night club and formerly a bartender, which means I’m used to dealing with people who could be a problem. I also worked security for large events and helped presenters and performers navigate their way through large crowds and overly excited people. I’m afraid I do have many adventurous stories because I’ve found that most people are rather compliant with me.” He gave a small shrug, lifting and dropping his large shoulders before he straightened himself more upright and continued to look her directly in the eyes. “In a sense I feel like I am qualified, but that mam’ is your decision not mine.”
Dare Devil was supposed to be a legend, a myth in Hell’s Kitchen in order to keep the criminal activity at bay. Even when Blackcat came alive, she was told by Spider-Man that nothing really happened in Hell’s Kitchen, outside of popular belief and even when he ventured in there, nothing was serious. It was hard to believe that rumors were true and something, well someone, was protecting Hell’s Kitchen of all places.

Though he didn’t quite fit the stories that were laid out for him. He was supposed to be eight feet tall with the strength of an elephant and the grace of a butterfly. The hearing of a cat and the excellent eyesight of a hawk. And yet; here he was, in the flesh and none of those things. It just shows that stories really can design something to be what they truly aren’t meant to be. Her head jerked back slightly at the mention of Kingpin; well that was a new name. Certainly not something that got around a lot and yet, seems to fit the guy that Dare Devil was talking about. It was not uncommon that villains went by alas names as well but this one seemed to be a name given to him by the people who worked under him.

Her head turned to look over at Spider-Man, of course she’d follow his lead, he was their ‘leader’ after all but his agreement to help fit her personal choice in the matter and she gave an approving nod. Her attention moved back to Dare Devil and she snatched the usb device from the air with a grace only she could produce. “Okay.” She said softly to Dare Devil.

Spider-Man and Blackcat left Hell’s Kitchen and arrived at the Empire State Building before Lexi pulled off her mask to get some fresh air. Her blue gaze stared in the direction of Hell’s Kitchen before she turned them to Spider-Man and spoke. “Do you think this is a good idea? If this ‘Kingpin’ guys is as big of a problem as Dare Devil makes him out to be it could be problematic.” Reaching into the storage compartment on her belt she pulled out the usb drive and looked down. “I think it’s important that we don’t attack him but attack the people working under him. Slowly remove the support bricks and things will fall.” With that she looked back up at her beloved boyfriend. “So meet at my place then to tour your new job, some lunch, study the drive then meet up with Dare Devil?” She asked with a smile to him flashing her bright white teeth. They needed some form of plan and this seemed like a start… well some start at least.
Havardr found himself hypnotized by the sights out the window. He really had never been in a place so tropical and lively that he was enthralled by the scenes. People on bikes in swimsuits, local people selling things they had created to other locals and tourist. Bright and shining smiles from children with ice cream to senior citizens holding hands; some were obvious tourists much like himself, others were locals living there but that didn’t stop any of them from having a good time. “So basically, your job would be to just make sure she’s safe and help guide her through places and people that might get too friendly with her…”

“Uh-huh.” The curly haired brunette responded as he stared even longer out the window. It probably wasn’t the best answer to give to his new employer but at the same time, when you come from Ohio, this type of beach beauty and intense sunlight wasn’t something you really saw on a regular basis.

The house the manager pulled into was huge! Even the doors looked big enough that the seven foot tall man wouldn’t have to duck his way through and again, Havardr was in shock as he climbed out of the tiny car and stared up at the size of the manor. “Come, this way.” The manager said abruptly cutting off the young man thoughts. “Oh and leave your bags in the car, we’ll get you settled into the hotel when we’re done with the interview.” Havardr nodded to the man giving him a gentle closed lip smile as he followed the shorter man to the door.

The manger gave a few swift knocks before cracking open the door. “Erin?” He called out before slowly stepping inside. “Erin I have the interviewee with me. Where are you?” They had been in contact via text messaging and emailed as he shared the exciting news of finding the ‘perfect’ body guide for her. Of course, it was her final say, not his.

Havardr followed the manager in slowly, careful not to bump of damage anything due to his larger size and sometimes clumsy nature. When Erin responded with her location the manger left him down a hallway and into a living room. Havardr was aware he’d be interviewing as soon as he arrived so he dressed himself in a pair of black slacks and a causal deep red dress shirt even though it was quite a bit hotter here in than in Ohio; but hey, it was important to dress nicely for an interview. He was so entranced by the decoration of the large manor that he almost ran himself onto the wall by turning to soon. Luckily he side-stepped it with a shocking amount of grace for a man his size and looked into the room with curiosity in his deep brown eyes.

Upon landing on the interviewer, he felt his heart nearly jump out of his chest and his mouth went dry for a moment. “Erin?” He said in confusion. In the mists of all this, he would have never thought he’d run back into an old girlfriend in a situation like this; much less one he missed so terribly bad.
When he said that he wouldn’t die on his first week of the job, she laughed softly in a happy way to find him in better condition than a corpse in her lap. “Oh thank god.” She said softly more to herself than to him as he attempted to get to his feet. “Whoa there tiger,” Abbie insisted as he started to climb to his feet. She reached out and helped him balance himself as he tried to pull anything together.

She raised her eyebrows at him as he began to talk into an earpiece. But it wasn’t until he began to speak further that she realized that he was speaking to someone. It wasn’t until the building began to fill with people the room and fight with lights.

The room slowly began to fill with lights, one then the other and a few more before the room; aside from the light above their head. Standing at the doorframe was a large man in a white suit and half of his face was complete burnt disgusting looking and the other side was the face of her father! “Dad…?” She said sounded confused and grateful to seeing her father.

“Hello Kiddo.” Harvey Dent said to Abbie, it was obvious that the Harvey Dent side showed strong feelings towards the young girl as he stepped to her and helped her to her feet. His attention moved back over Nightwing. “Now let’s find out how to you will die.” He flicked the coin up into the air. “Heads you die by gunshot to the head, tails you die by my men and however they feel.” With that he flicked the coin into the air.

As it came down, Abbie reached out and grabbed the coin from the air; Two Face shot her an evil glare, only to be responded with a glare from his daughter. There was a silent exchange between the two before the blonde placed the coin into his hand. “If it wasn’t for Nightwing I would be in worst condition then I am now. I’m exhausted, still in pain and really really tired. Please can we go? Just… please… dad---dad?”

Two-Fact stared down at Nightwing, a look of hate on his face as his daughter spoke; but it wasn’t until he was touched by his daughter that his attention was broken and he looked at her. A few moments passed before he nodded, “Okay.”
The comment from Nightwing was responded with an expression of an eyebrow raising with a half sarcastic look and another have of understanding that he was giving some form of advice. She backed away from the laughing man and wasn't sure exactly where this was going to go. She didn't seem to take too much out of him but he was stunned that she could pull a kick and punch as hard as she did. Oh no, a manic laugh, fantastic...

Though it was a bit surprising to see that the Electrocutioner's threat of burning Nightwing to a crisp was met with mocking response. Her head bounced back and forth between the two as their weapons lit up and proceeded at each other. The spark was intense, filling the room with a large flash of light causing the blonde to drop to the floor as the lightbulb exploded and the place went pitch black. And there begin the intense slow-motion light show.

What Abbie didn't expect was to curl herself back against a far walk and stare in aw at the incredible light show. Sure she probably should have looked for a way out or some way to help but considering the light would flash than pitch black would fill the room she was lacking the ability to let her eyes adjust. Attempting to make a layout of the room was difficult and by the time she had succeeded, Nightwing was calling to her to help. But it wasn't until the man's legs were grabbed and he began to scream in pain that Abbie was finally able to pin-point their location. Jumping to her feet she reacted quickly and in her hurry to the men she grabbed the wooden chair and brought it over her head in her run.

Her arm swung down and the thick wood came into contact with the even thicker skull of the Electrocutioner. A lovely cracking noise filled the room and the wooden chair fell apart like putty in her hands and the large man went tumbling to the floor, gloves deactivating and his grip letting go of Nightwing. The glow of Nightwing's weapons were the only thing giving off any sort of light which caused her to drop the legs of the chair and run to his side. Wrapping her arms around his upper body she pulled him off the Electrocutioner and his upper body into her lap. "Nightwing." She said, panic in her voice, "Nightwing don't you die on me. I won't put up with that." Her voice should signs of playful sarcasm as she tried to joke her way through her panic as she shook him slightly. "Come on buddy, who else is going to stalk me like an overprotective boyfriend; get up!" She placed her hand gently against his cheek before sliding it down his neck to check for a pulse. Oh thank god there is one! "Come on, I can't carry you but between you functioning arms and my functioning legs we make a whole person; we need to get out of here now wake up!" Her voice filled with desperation, worry and sadness; yes for him, at the end of her sentence. She hurt, he hurt but they needed to leave!
It’s funny how when you’re in the mites of screaming out in pain that things come into perspective. Her father was a multi-billion-dollar mafia leader with half of a face. Private school was a horrible idea. Traveling the world was awesome. ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’ is believable, it’s horrible. And her only regret was that she didn’t get to say good bye to Dick. Oh and that straight electricity to the bare skin HURT.

Her screams were cut short by the Electrocutioner letting go and falling back against the ground with a loud thud. Head dropping, blonde hair falling off of her shoulders and hanging alongside her head, she slowly pulled her tear-filled eyes open and breathed heavily. She didn’t dare give the Electrocutioner the pleasure of knowing just how much pain she was in but the tears running down her face onto her ripped shirt and dirty jeans showed just how much pain she was in. Slowly, her head rose up and her caramel eyes blinked to see that Nightwing was the first person onto the scene.

The struggling of her ropes was intense. For the past three days she had been attempting to get them loose and now with the arrival of Nightwing, things were going to go from bad to worse and being tied to a chair wasn’t her ideal location. Her arms were throbbing and she had massive burn marks were the loon had grabbed her but that didn’t stop her to struggle for freedom. In the time that she had dropped her head in an attempt to focus, she pulled it upright in surprise to feel the ropes drop to the floor, and her legs to be freed. Abbie leapt from the chair just in time to see that electrical currents were heading her way. Oh shit… What, what was that? An arm? Holy shit she was flying in the air!

It did take her a moment to realize exactly what was happening before she looked up at Nightwing, this being the first time they had ever been so close and, as she hoped, it would be the last. The second he let her go she distanced herself from him and responded to his look with a ‘no shit’ expression before the two took off after the Electrocutioner.

Abbie made it to him first. Taking quick stance as he rose up, she spun kicked him in the jaw. Oh, OH that felt good. She gave a small closed lip smirk as he stumbled backwards in a mix of both pain and shock at the fact that she was A] free and B] kicking him in the face. She bounced backwards and when the Electrocutioner came forward once again she gave him a swift uppercut into the jaw causing him to stumble backwards and for the blonde to jump back shaking her fist and making a ‘ow’ face even though she was running on adrenaline and ignoring her current pain.
The rumors behind the person protecting Hell’s Kitchen wasn’t uncommon, in fact it was before Spider-Man even came about that the rumors of a hero patrolling Hell’s Kitchen would reach the other sections of New York City. This was, of course thing new for the raven haired girl to hear. She loved the idea of super heroes and never truly through she’d end up becoming one but hey, such is life right?

BlackCat finally made it to the top of the roof only to have Spider-Man nearly thrown at her with an unexpected force. She sprung out of the way as Spider-Man caught himself and the two stared at the figure in front of them. Apparently BlackCat made the connection a lot quicker than Spider-Man. A gasp left her as Spider-Man narrowed down who was standing in front of them. “Dare-Devil…” She said in shock as she stared down the man on the rooftop. “Come on Spidey, you’ve heard the stories of Dare-Devi.”

The air filled with a familiar scent and Dare-Devil’s head turned up slightly and his nostril’s flared as he took in a certain smell. Was that… Lexi? His head tilted as his ears took in the sound of her voice. This, was Lexi, Lexi Rogers? And the other smell was that…Peter Parker? Something was seriously wrong and Dare-Devil’s mouth dropped slightly into a frown. This isn’t what he was expecting..
“So you seem like a perfect fit for the job, here is your flight ticket to the Bahamans where Ms. Edwards lives. I will pick you up from the airport and you will say at the hotel nearby to keep an eye on her. I’ll see you soon.” Was the voicemail left on the phone of Havardr Bye. It had been a long time since Havardr had done any traveling outside of returning back to Norway, until now. Take the job!! His sister’s nagging voice echoed in his mind, You need to get out and about. Since college you’ve been boring and not doing anything for yourself. Doing this work could give you a chance to travel with a celebrity! Her main reasoning was sound, he never got out much but at the same time, it was something and something’s better than nothing.

The seven foot giant ducked into the plane before helping an older woman with her carry on luggage get into the overhead compartment. Most people would complain about being flown out to meet a celebrity for a job interview would be flown first class but Havardr was just happy to not be swimming. Instead he settled in his seat and relaxed even though he was in a cramped space.

He woke up to the plane landing and looked out the window in amazement; the Bahamas were beautiful and bright. As he left the plane he changed into a pair of shorts and a comfortable shirt with sandals, the heat was not his favorite thing but he knew how to dress for it. Running his hand through his curly brown hair he left the airport and found the car waiting for him only to be greeted by the manager of Ms. Edwards. The typical ‘you’re a lot bigger than I thought you were’ comment came out of the manager’s mouth and was met with a simple gentle shrug, “I get that a lot.” With that they climbed into the car and started towards Ms. Edwards.
