She left and James stayed on the floor staring up at the ceiling. Huh… she really thinks highly of him, which is bazaar for some to tell him. A long sigh left him as he sat up off the floor and looked about the clean room. She wants to be his friend; she seems like she wants to get to know the true him but… would she like the true him? Is she painting a picture of the person he is in her head what he really was? In his mind he wasn’t a good person but she seems to think so. She speaks highly of him and wants to know his personality. Was this… a good thing?

Finally Annie got ‘off work’ and wondered back into her room in the manor. The moment she shut the door, she pulled out her phone and dialed a number. Annie was always quick about making friends and her first friend she made when she arrived was Freya. Placing her phone to her ear, her head bobbed along to music before Freya answer, “Hey! How’s it going do you like the place? How’s the campus…” The small amount of silence caused Annie to pause as well before she finally asked. “Freya, what’s wrong?”
“Stupid… ugly…” Again the rooster screeched at her and she let out a small scream of terror. She wasn’t up too high but she was lucky that the chicken coop’s roof was flat. Why was this thing so mean?! Why was it so scary and why was it attacking her to the point of no return!? She had attempted to get down a couple times only to have her legs attempted to be peaked off by the annoying creature on the ground.

Shaking her head she was about to let out another call for help before a young man came through the gate and to her rescue. She watching him shoving off the rooster and turn to her. A grateful look moved across her face as Lily has never been one to be able to hide her emotions, and she took his hand as he helped her down off of the chicken coop. “The big bad blonde, we are a threatening bunch.” She said with a small laugh and letting out a sigh as her feet hit the ground.

“Yeah then again it’s been years and years since I’ve been here. He only had three chickens and a horse. Certainly not a rooster…” She couldn’t help but shoot the rooster an evil look of disapproval before turning her attention back to Chris and giving him a genuine white smile. “I’m Lillianna, but you can call me Lily.” With that the two entered the coop and Lily began to gently remove the eggs from the basket that she left comfortable on the stool so they could work together. “How long have you been working for my grandfather Chris?”

Also thought it would be fun to do a Next Generation Avengers.
Very few people have seen James laugh, much less laugh as much as he did when she unintentionally tickled him. His eyes scanned her face as she walked down to him saying he was stiff. Blinking a few times up at her he allowed his body to straighten out on the carpet covered floor and rolled his head to look at her when she lay next to him. It wasn’t until she stated that she had never seen him laugh that he realized just how expressionless he had while he was around. Upon hearing that she wouldn’t tell anyone he was ticklish he shot her a playful dirty look before turning his gaze back to the ceiling.

James my friend instead of James my butler, the words echoed in his mind as he stared up at her ceiling. The debate went through his mind and upon his face laid a large amount of confliction. The idea of being friends with someone out of his sister would be nice but she was his temporary employer. “I’m not a good person…” He said softly not daring to look in her direction. Taking in a deep breath and continued, “I shouldn’t even have a job as a butler, but your dad and Adrian gave me a chance… a chance to redeem myself and I never want to break that trust by doing --- something I’m not supposed to.”

A deep sigh left him before he continued, “If you want me to tell you I will…” His head rolled and his gaze landed on her. “But I don’t know about being ‘friends’, I’m unsure if the friendship can be two ways between a butler and their Master. You can confine in me, tell me anything and I will not breathe a word to anyone else --- but I don’t know if it can be done the other way around; nor do I know if I deserve it.” Reaching out he gently patted her hand with his white gloved covered hand and shot her a gentle smile. “But you deserve to have someone you can trust unconditionally, and if that person is me I will do everything in my power to keep that trust and faith you have in me alive and well.” Pulling his hand back he placed it on the his jacket after checking to make sure it was still buttoned due to his collapse on the floor, folded his hands on his flat stomach and looked back up at the ceiling.
    Bump.
When she finally looked up at him, Byron gave her a bright white happy smile. While he was away and with his hood on most people wouldn’t recognize him, he preferred to keep it that way. Sometimes not talking to a fan was nice but hey, if she turned out to be one there was no reason to treat her any differently. In the reflection of the sunlight he saw her cheeks change a bit of color and he couldn’t help but grin a little wider. Maybe he shouldn’t be happy that he can make some people blush but he did find it amusing.

“Oh no, I’m just here visiting. You’re very good, I think Bob Ross would say all my heart is actual mistakes including my stick figures.” A small chuckle left him as he looked out over the scene then back down at her drawing observing the details in her little doodle. “I hope you don’t mind me looking. I know some artists hate it but I love watching someone passionately do their craft.” A small nod rose and fell his head as he watched her for a few moments longer then turned his gaze to the see.

Los Angeles had water but it was nothing like the waters of Hawaii. The waters, the air, the atmosphere, all completely different compared to where he lived and he loved it. “I’m Byron by the way. Do you mind if I sit with you? I don’t want to impose…”

    @Deyedreamer {I now understand why you do this}
Perfection was key when you are a butler. You should do your job perfectly and without hesitation. Adrian was big into instilling those beliefs into his staff members and James listened to him whole heartedly. Adrian was the one who found him and his sister as they ate sandwiches on a park bench and offered them the jobs they had now. Little did James know just how much that offer would change their lives!

He was indebted to his Master and Adrian for giving them the opportunity to work. Sure, Annie could work anywhere and get a well-placed high paying job as a maid or even a head maid, but she didn’t want to leave him behind. To show his utmost loyalty to his Master, Adrian and his sister; he spent all of his time focusing on being perfect at his job. Even if it meant he needed to keep his emotions and expression in check.

Setting the bar correctly, he began to lower his arms back down to his side before he felt hands on his ribs and the sound of a “boo”. It wasn’t the boo that got him or even her presence; it was her hands on his ribs.

“AHAHAHAHAHA!” His voice rang through the living room as he laughed loudly and honestly as he fell to the floor losing all his strength. Red faced and embarrassed, he pulled open his water filled blue eyes and stared up at her.
The gentle breeze of the ocean was more than Bryon could imagine. The clean air of Hawaii was so much better than the clogged air of Los Angeles; even though living outside of the city was a little better; it was never the best because he was required to go back in for work. Sighing softly to himself he finished off his last taco and threw away his stuff into the trash can before going back on his walk.

Finding a small trail he followed the path before coming upon a beautiful view overlooking the sea and to his surprise someone was sitting down drawing. He stood in silence in his shorts with his hands in the pockets of his light weight white sweater watching the scene in front of them. It was so nice not to have the voice of his girlfriend next to his ear talking about everything in the world of Hollywood and nothing about real life. He didn’t even know her favorite kind of ice cream, or her favorite candy nor has she even shared with him her favorite flower. Yet she insisted on spending more time with him in public than at home when they could just relax, lie around and watch movies or go out for a run or swim in the pool. Ride horses, garden; something other than Hollywood parties or clubbing! While he enjoyed those things he always wanted to do more but she wouldn’t.

Leaning over slightly, he looked at the drawing but kept a respectable distance. “You’re really good.” He said softly in hopes he wouldn’t make her jump. “How long have you been drawing?”
Taking his time while she ate, James cleaned the kitchen and it up with the unpacked boxes. She wouldn’t spend her time in the kitchen, that wasn’t her job. She was supposed to focus on her schooling while he took care of everything else for her. That was his job as a butler, as her butler. A smile moved across his face, honestly; he was happy to be here, he was getting a bonus by taking the job… but then his smile dropped. He couldn’t be too happy about this, he was leaving his sister behind… but she wanted him to be there. His heart and his stomach pulled, fighting for which he felt would be right.

After finally finishing the kitchen, he walked out into the living room to find her curled up on the couch sleeping peacefully. He gathered up the brunch things before starting back towards the kitchen; before entering the hallway he turned and looked over his shoulder at her. He took a moment to watch her sleeping peaceful, a smile moved across his face showing his straight white teeth. She was adorable and innocent, there was no doubt out it and while she was sleeping, he felt more comfortable showing expressions. Shaking his head he did his best not to chuckle at her adorable sleeping and ventured back into the kitchen.

He finished up the kitchen and went into her bedroom. Looking around he realized that the last things to put away was her clothes. Would she be okay with him putting away her underwear? Probably not. However he wouldn’t have any issues picking out her outfits for her if she needed him to. He undid her bed and walked back into the living room. Gently, he scooped the light weight woman into his arms and carried her into her room and gently placed her down onto the bed. Pulling the blankets over her, he placed a large hand on her head and gave it a gentle rub before heading out and shutting the door silently behind him.

While she slept he put away the remaining boxes and began marinating chicken for dinner before checking to insure that the house was in a proper order and nodding to himself, a small smile playing across his fine lips as he looked around approvingly. He and the staff from manor did a good job arranging the apartment and hopefully she was happy; especially her suckers everywhere. That was something he really knew she enjoyed and would make it a point to always provide her with that… why? Well it was his job as her butler, right…?
“So… this is Alabama…” A young blonde muttered to herself as she picked up her nearly purchased car, well it wasn’t so much a car as it was a wrangler jeep. Of course it was white, pretty clean white; however the sales man was rather insistent that she get a small lift on the jeep to help get her through the town. “Oh where? I’m here to help my grandfather on his farm. I’m excited!” The blonde said sounding way too excited for someone who’s driver’s license said they were from New York City.

“Who’s your grandfather?” The seller said as he dropped the keys into her hand.

“Adam Ratcliff.” The young man looked stunned but the blonde ignored him and skipped to her jeep. Climbing inside a bit awkwardly before settling in to the seat and wrapped her small hands around the wheel. A grin moved across her face as she started the engine and it roared to life. Back home she rarely drove because travel was so simple so excitement was easily read on her face. The salesman tried to ask her a question about her grandfather but she ended up driving away before she could hear it.

Unlike in the city, it was difficult for her to find cellphone service; however her jeep came with a built in box the salesman called a ‘CB’, but she had no clue what that was about. Using the directions she had written down she found a long, long LONG dirt road she began to travel up. Keeping her window up, she pushed her sunglasses up on her face and was glad she didn’t have the top down. Despite the high sun she was thankful not to get caught in a dust cloud. Little did she know exactly what she was getting into by agreeing (and slightly getting forced into by her parents) to come.

Driving up the road she noticed a truck, her jeep slowed down but the person was out of view. So she shrugged to herself and went to the house. Her grandfather met her at the door, she charming old man with a cane. “Hey Kiddo.” He called to her as the jeep shut off and the door opened.

“Hi pa!” She called out as she shut the door and dashed to her grandfather giving him a big hug. “How are you?”

“Oh… that’s a topic for later. I’ve got something I need to do here before we go in and talk, I need to collect the eggs from the chicken coop.”

“Oh I can do that pa, just like when I was a kid right.”

“Right but…” Her grandfather tried to say something but then stopped with a sigh. “The basket’s right there.” He said with a smile.

Without giving it much thought, the blonde grabbed the basket and skipped towards where she knew the chicken coop was. “Hello chickens.” She called out just like she did when she was a child. Pushing open the little gate she kicked it shut with her tennis shoe covered foot and walked towards the coop. That was until she heard a cry; actually it was more like a screech. Her head turned to see something she had never seen before, it looked weird… a darker colored chicken with a red thing hanging off its throat. She raised a blonde eyebrow at it before it cooed at her again and CHARGED.

“AAAHHH!!!” The blonde screamed in terror and took off in a run away from the thing. After running around in a few circles she scrambled up onto the chicken coop. The roaster cooed at her, flapping it’s wings threateningly at her and kicking up dirt in anger. “GO AWAY!” She yelled in terror, a small scream leaving her as the rooster cooed at her again. It had peaked her quite a few times prior to her sitting on top of the coop clinging onto the fabric lined basket to collect the eggs. “Leave me alone you ugly chicken!!!” The blonde haired girl in blue jeans and a soft yellow tank top was Lillianna Ratcliff, Lily for short and she was getting attacked by a rooster on her first 10 minutes on the farm.

The moment that Lily walked away from the porch, Adam went into the house and picked up his radio. “Chris.” He called into it, “Head to the Chicken Coop when you’re done with the pigs, the eggs need to be collected here shortly. Thanks than you can take your lunch. Thanks.”
