The young man’s words were harsh and Melanie found herself glaring at him as he stumbled away. Sniffing softly, she took the handkerchief from Dalton and dabbed the corner of her eyes with it. This was such an experience, and something she never expected to happen. Her body shook as he placed a hand on her, but not out of fear, it was out of relaxation. Knowing someone was here to help her claim down a good amount. Nodding was the best response she could give him when he said that she should return to her room. She took his arm and followed him out.

The walk gave her a lot to reflect on. She had been through a lot in a short amount of time and despite his position and where he actually should be; he was watching over her. He probably shouldn’t be, he really took over the challenge with grace. Though, she couldn’t blame him if he wasn’t happy about it but he was doing good at not letting it show. In the end, she felt guilty for all that he had to go through. Her hand gripped onto his shoulder as they walked back towards her room.

Arriving at the room she let out a long sigh looking into the large space that she was going to call her own. She couldn’t let the king down, she couldn’t let the country down. She had to take on everything that was coming to her but she wasn’t doing it alone. Turning around she looked up at Dalton as he spoke to her. Her head dropped, listening to him speak. Sighing, she raised her head and reached out, grabbing a hold of his hand. “Do not blame yourself Sir Dalton, you couldn’t have predicted what would happen but the fact that you came means a lot to me.” A firm nod rose and fell her head.

Then… she gave his arm another small squeeze. “If it means anything to you Sir Dalton, what that man said is false. Your father is respected by the people for his work but you as the captain of the guard and leader of the army have earned the respect of the people by your own hand. The country is proud that you took over your father’s position but you are not a replacement. You have earned your position in the eyes of the people, in the eyes of the king and… in my eyes as well. Please…” She gave his arm another small squeeze. “Please Sir Dalton, do not ever forget how much this country and its people appreciate all you do for them, for us, as you.”

Her blue eyes stared him down for another moment before she realized just how much she was clinging to him. She abruptly let him go and turned her gaze to the ground. “I apologize, I got over-excited. But I would like to make a request.” Her gaze turned upwards, once again meeting his face. “When we are apart from others, will you please just call me Melanie? I’d very much appreciate some form of normalcy that I was formally accustomed to once and a while.”
Staring into the window of the soon to open bakery made her lick her full lips in anticipation to a hearty breakfast that awaited her as soon as the doors open. She was so focused on the display window that she didn’t even notice the door had opened but instinctively turned towards it and smacking directly into the individual who came out. Her whole body stumbled backwards and she nearly fell over. Catching herself with the window, she turned her electric blue gaze to the person who came out.

He was a young man about her age. His pale skin was an interesting contrast to his dark hair and he looked like he had just woken up. Despite his tired appearance something about him was interesting and she found herself tilting her head in wonder before she realized he had spoken to her. Addie shook her head quickly before answering him back. “Oh no, it’s okay just… be more careful next time.”

“Oh good morning!” A young man’s voice said from behind them, he was dressed as a waiter. “Are you here for the couple’s breakfast?”

“What?” Addie said with a questioning tone in her voice.

“Oh you know, today we offer free breakfast for any couple coming in in order to celebrate love.” The smile of the waiter was somewhat reassuring.

Addie reached over and locked her arm through the young man who just bumped into her. “Yes, yes we are. Right dear?” She turned her gaze to the young man and gave him a bright smile before pulling him along and following the waiter inside. After being placed at a table, she sat across from the man and folded her arms onto the table leaning forward. “Sorry, this is just too good of a deal to pass up. This place is delicious. I’m Addie by the way.”
The gods sat in the living room, each quietly partaking in the paperwork before the door opened and the sound of footsteps came into the house. The group watched the poor girl, each feeling her intense emotion of sadness as she left the entryway to go deposit her things into the lion’s room. The group exchanged looks with one another. No one liked seeing her depressed, even though her love is supposed to be against the heavenly law, they couldn’t blame her for being in love.

Scorpio stood up. A long sigh left her as she looked at the group giving them a single nod before walking to meet her at the base of the stairs. Upon Jo’s return downstairs Scorpio gestured towards the basement at the two went downstairs and into the room with the Punishment’s reflection pool. She gestured for her to stand behind her and place her hand on her shoulder.

“Lady Scorpio.” Isabelle’s voice rang from the staircase as her feet pitter-pattered down the stairs, “I brought the documents!” The little girl ran into the room and handed an arm full of papers to the awaiting goddess. “And these are for you Lady Jo.” Isabelle said with a smile on her face as she handed Jo three papers. And at that, she exited.

    My Goldfish,

I granted over 1,000 wishes today on my own and many of my employees seem to be slacking more than the ones on earth. This did not last long as I cracked down upon them, reminding them what joy they bring to the goldfish when the wishes are granted. And that the smaller the wish the bigger the impact it will have; you taught me that.

    My Goldfish,

Today was another busy day. Except I didn’t get to grant any wishes today; today was a day for a meeting between the Department of Wishes and the Department of Punishments. Without Director-Stick-In-The-Mud, the Punishment Gods didn’t have much to say or argue with me about and I relished in their silence when I presented my side of the discussions for the Departments. I hope the slacking Punishment Gods aren’t working you too hard; the departments here in the heavens are lazy as always which means they’re most likely working hard on earth. Do not overwork yourself Goldfish.

    My Goldfish,

It’s my first ‘day off’ since I returned to the heavens and… I’ve done nothing but watch you from the reflecting pool in my room. Yesterday you had a piece of gum stuck to the bottom of your shoe yesterday on your way into work. It looks like you were busy today, but you helped a lot of people and that’s more than what I did today. My amazing goldfish doing the work of a god without any magic. Keep up the good work goldfish.

    P.S. Name him after me.
When she asked if he slept good he stayed silent. Truth be told, he didn’t sleep, even though he was actually tired here on earth. He couldn’t sleep. He wanted to watch her face, memorize it and have it implanted into his memory for the time that he was gone. He didn’t know how long he’d be gone but what he knew was that it was going to be a while. Sighing softly be gathered up the supplies and the two began their walk back to the mansion.

The arrival at the mansion was quiet and sad. He discarded the things and took her to his room. “Jo,” He said softly as he shut the door behind him and ran his hand along her face, brushing away the fallen tears. He snapped his fingers and changed back into his Department of Wishes uniform and removed his hand from her face. He pulled his jacket from his shoulders and draped it over her shoulders. “I don’t expect you not to cry. But you will not cry without this on you. Keep it until I come back, it will hold you for me.” Placing his hands on her face making sure that she was look at him, “My room will be your safe-haven my love. Come here any time and be around the things that remind you of me. You will never be alone here.”

Leaning down he placed his lips against hers and whispered, “I love you Jo.” He placed a sealing kiss, a promise kiss, a kiss for her to remember. In that moment he pour all of his passion, all of his fire, all of his love for her into the single kiss. Making it well known that he loved her, he was hers and he will miss her. Soon his body began to fade into a soft light but that didn’t stop him from kissing her. He kept a hold of her face until he had completely dissolved from the room and reappeared in his room in the heavens.

When he realized he was back in the heavens he dropped to his knees, cupped his hands over his face and cried.
“You really think that’s a wizard master?” A slightly panic sounding Lucy said as the members of the guild gathered around their master listening to him giving out instructions to gather any remaining wizards.

“Of course it’s another wizard.” Another blonde spoke up, “How many times has anyone gone somewhere and it’s actually been an ‘evil spirit’” She said going air quotes with her fingers before resting her hands on the hips of her blue jeans.

“4 out of the 7 I went after.” Someone spoke up from the back. “I had 1 turn out to be an evil spirit.”, “And me.”, Me too.”

“Alright, I get it.” The blonde yelled to cut off the individuals listing off how many evil spirits they had met. “Master, let me go. I don’t think it’s an evil spirit. And if it is, I’ll leave.” She said with a nod.

“Taunie, you’re in charge of bringing the wizard back.” The master said with a nod and the blonde in the blue jeans with the white top turned and left.

Taunie Evens soon found herself walking along the road, she pulled her blonde hair back into a pony tail and blinked her blue eyes. Soon she was close enough to the ‘haunted area’. Placing her hands on her hips she let out a sigh. Fine, let’s get this over with. She pulled her hands from her hips and cupped them around her mouth. “HEY! HEY SPIRIT! HERE’S A NEW TARGET FOR YOU!” She dropped her hands from her mouth and extended her arms out. “SHOW YOURSELF! I’M NOT SCARED!” Unlike a lot of her cohorts in the Fairy Tail guild, Taunie was a risk-taker whether she went at it alone or with others, she was never afraid and wanted to do what she could help her friends and her ‘family’ stay safe.
She asked what’s wrong… she asked what’s wrong and Leon couldn’t get himself to say it. All he could do was stared into her eyes with his amber/golden eyes. Seeing her tear up made his heart ache and he tightened his grip on her rubbing her back and head in a relaxing manner. He wanted to make this night something she would remember because even he wasn’t sure how long he would be gone.

He could hear her wishes, but it was something he couldn’t grant no matter how much he wanting to or how desperately he felt the need and desire to. Instead he wanted to make sure she had a precious memory. “I am your little lion. Yours and yours alone.” He said softly as he placed his lips on hers.

The night was spent them embraced with each other kissing and cuddling under the twinkling stars and soon they were slumbering in each other’s arms. The sun soon rose over the sea and Leon’s eyes flickered open. Sighing softly he looked down at his beautiful goldfish and gently touched her face as she slumbered. She was so beautiful, so wonderful and so perfect. And today was the day he had to say good bye.

Sighing softly he gave her a gentle kiss on her lips. “Jo…” He whispered softly. “Jo you need to wake up, we need to get going.”
Unlike her Gray was rather used to the taste of alcohol. Wine was his preferred alcohol compared to the hard stuff. Hard alcohol always made him weird, especially with his muscle mass. So he did get drunk pretty easily; however wine took longer in comparison. Spinning the wine in the glass he gave her a grin, “I would never exaggerate.”

When she asked if he had any movies he’s been dying to watch he gave a grin and jumped to his feet. “I’ll be right back.” With that he dashed out of the door without any context to what he was going through. Thud thud thud the footsteps of him in his apartment above her could be heard, along with a few things that sounded like crashing and thumping around. There was echo of an ‘Ow’ that could be heard before the thud thud thud SLAM echoed from his room and into hers.

Gray, being who he was, burst through the door and held up a DVD in triumph, allow me to present the award winning, classic B-rated film; Killer Clowns from Outer Space.” He beamed at the cheesy horror movie in his hands before moving to the DVD Player and sliding it in. “As the guest I get to choose right?” He said with laugh and fell onto the love seat before patting the spot next to him. “Come on, if you get too scared I’ll hold you.” He offered extending out his arms with another cheesy-Gray smile. This had nothing to do with the fact that he wanted to hold her.
Her words were reassuring in his ear and her tight hug made him feel comfortable with the situation. “It doesn’t.” He said plainly in response to her statement about the passage of time between the heavens and earth. Gazing softly down at the beautiful human beneath him he gave her a tender soft smile.

“I trust you. I do not trust the other goldfish.” He said in a simple, matter of fact, tone before leaning down and kissing her gently on her lips. Despite his normal actions towards her, he was tender, soft and kind. His hand gently traced along her face and down her neck as he lowered himself gently onto her, deepening the kiss. Dropping his passion into the kiss as he did so; he loved this little goldfish, he loved this woman with all his heart and everlasting soul; which he did the best he could do to convey that in his loving kiss.

He pulled back from the kiss; a small single tear ran down his cheek. He knew the time had come and he didn’t want too… he didn’t want to go… He rolled over, taking her on top of him and wrapping his arms around her holding her to his chest. He had this last night with her and he wanted to make the most of it. “Can we stay like this for the night?” He asked softly as gently stroked her head with one large hand and kept his other arm wrapped around her body, snapping his fingers, a blanket draped over the two of them as he returned his hand to her back.
Leon had spent some time putting this together. He knew after their time with the party that he would need to get away from the goldfish and be around the only human he really could stand. The night stars sparkled brighter than ever and the waves crashing against the shore seemed almost rhythmic in its actions. A long sigh left the blond haired man as he looked over at his beloved goldfish.

Her question made him smile as he took a drink of the wine and leaned back against the forearm of his free hand. He let out a soft sigh before looking back out over the water. Her question was a playful one and he couldn’t argue the playfulness that was in her voice and the smirk across her face. Placing his empty wine glass down he reached over, taking her wine glass from her and placing it down as well. In a swift motion he pulled her to him, causing her to tumble on top of him before he rolled over, pinning her under him once again; the stars twinkling behind his silhouette.

“Goldfish,” He began softly, “Little goldfish. My little goldfish. Do you love me…. Do you trust me….” His face curled into a soft smile as he pulled his hand from the ground and gently placed it onto her face, stroking her cheekbone with his thumb. They had to have a very important topic they needed to discuss but poor Leon really didn’t want to approach it. Leaning down, he placed his forehead against hers, “Jo will you be loyal to me… Will you… wait for me?”
