To Dance with the Stars

It was surprising she was able to answer the questions that Cal fired off. Axel was pretty sure he would have had to ask the questions again or require Cal to slow down. They were an odd pair but were consistently found together in the heavens despite their difference in jobs. The reason they were found together is because they got along. While Cal was the older of the two, her free spirit tended to lean everyone into thinking was younger than she was; and her ability to provide Axel with positivity and happiness made her a good person to be around despite people’s fear of him. It was first thought that they were dating by the other gods of the heavens but, that was until people actually saw them together. That’s when the other gods realized, this was more of a sibling relationship then a romantic one and the idea that Cal had actually settled down became a thing of the past and their fear of her getting her was lessened a lot.

The sudden blaring of the music made both of the gods cover their ears along with the rest of the class and it truly was no surprise that Lee had to end all of the shenanigans before they became too crazy.

As they both breathed a sigh of relief, their gaze turned back to Lee as she announced they were going to begin. Before Axel could move to take Cal as his partner, his natural choice on instinct to take his best friend; he gained a moment of pause having Lee ask him a question. “Oh, Uh….” He began shyly, his large hand running along the back of his neck as his face flushed red. “I’m kind of required to for work. Traditionally it’s just the ballroom dances but on occasion they like us to participate in other forms.” A nod rose and fell his head as he looked over at Cal.

Cal had found herself a male and a female dance partner, coordinating between the two that she would dance with the female first and take the lead, then on the next song she would dance with the man. His eyes rolled rather hard at her before turning his attention back to Lee. “I do apologize for dropping in like this Lee. Cal is very… um… fluttery. When we were walking it was ‘popcorn’ then I happened to say that I thought this was your studio and she bolted right in. I'm very sorry...”

Her stuttering over a topic made him laugh softly and he reached forward, patting her gently on the hand. “It’s okay, I know.” With that he dropped the topic and they continued on with their meal. The meal was pleasant and interesting. They talked about what had happened during their times apart, how their families were and what they expected from school. It wasn’t long before lunch was over and they hurried back to school to their respective classes.

They did pass each other throughout the weekdays and there wasn’t a lunch time that Lily spent alone. Rayne was always by her side and it seemed a bit daunting for the rest of the female population to see Rayne so interested in another girl. Little did they know that ring on her right hand meant more than they knew.

Saturday evening rolled around and Rayne had grabbed his keys from his room and started towards the exit of the home. Kenton, who happened to be reading a book at the time, looked up from it. “Where are you going?”

“Dinner, see ya later.” Kenton called out as he shut the door behind him and skipped down to his car, the little chirp greeting him as he arrived.

Pulling into the driveway was Rayne’s smart smooth red car and stepping out was a Rayne she didn’t grow up with. The young man was dressed in a sharp crisp looking black suit, black undershirt with a gold tie, matching cuff links, belt and black shoes, his hair was styled in his normal fashion and in his arms was a bouquet of red roses. His car chirped as a signal that he had locked it and he strolled with conviction up the stairs.

He was here to be Lily’s date for dinner with her mom and her mom’s new partner. This way she wasn’t alone and he could spend more time with her, plus Rayne always looked good dressed up and he knew how to treat a lady. His rhythmic knock echoed through the house as he waited for the door to open.

Fairy Tail (Sanquin / EasilyAmused)

His idea was… something. Something was better than nothing but the sudden arms around her waist caused her face to explode red. Then again with the velocity required to get them moving, he had to hold onto her and tightly. With a beat red face, she pulled herself and him with all her magical strength and launched them from the inside off the ship. It wasn’t long before they found themselves falling towards the water, her magical chains vanishing due to her lack of magic and pain in her shoulder.

This confidence was shocking and she even looked back at him with surprise in her big blue eyes. Could she actually trust him? Well probably… she was sharing a house with him for the time being and while he didn’t seem like one who really cared about many things, the thought of beating up people seemed to be something he enjoyed. Maybe that was a Dragon Slayer thing, a small nod rose and fell her head as she listened to him. “Kick some ass.” She said with a smirk as he let go of her and she was caught by Valier.

The young flying cat took Taunie to the ground where she was dropped. A lot of the guild members had pushed back the remaining group but were focused on treating others. By the time the two had arrived to shore, they fell with exhaustion. Guild members were quick to gather the tired cat and the injured girl before taking them to the nearby recovery tent. As the tent closed, all Taunie could see was a figure emerging form the water, ready to end the battle of Fairy Tail.
