Lexi’s gaze had moved around the street, for some reason she was more excited to get inside and see Peter than she was in the possible chance that she would run into Spider-Man. Maybe she was getting over the idea of being with Spider-Man and was able to think of Peter and only Peter. A small sigh left her as she finally heard footsteps to the door, she didn’t mind the idea of just being in a dress without him being in something special but to her surprise, he was dressed up too. Her gaze went from his head down his shoulders to his pants, his shoes then back to his face. “Wow!” She said, her voice filled with a lot more excitement then she wanted to let on. “This, I wasn’t expecting.” A nod lifted her head as she stepped inside the house. “But that doesn’t mean you don’t look dashing.” Really? Dashing?! as she turned her head away she mentally kicked herself. Really?! You’re going to use the word dashing.

“I thought I could crash on the couch tonight if we ended up staying up to late. With walking home last Sunday not being a big success, I think I’d rather stay here where I know I’m safe.” A smile moved across her shining pink lips as she looked over her shoulder at him and kicked off her shoes, following the rule of the house. The only thing was she wore a pair of black short shorts under the dress. Why? Simple, she didn’t want to accidentally show her underwear. Better safe than sorry; especially if they start running around the house like morons as they do on several occasions. “Oh I brought an additional movie.” She said reaching into her bag after she walked into the living room. “Killer Clowns From Outer Space.” Holding up the box she gave a small laugh. “A cheesy B horror film with creepy clowns; thought it might be fun.” She gave a shrug to her shoulders as she put the movie down on the coffee table and looked around. “Where’s Aunt May?” While she was asking a question, her voice didn’t seem very concerned; and if one were to guess, she kind of didn’t want her to be there.
Raising an eyebrow at him as he said she was the only girl that would talk to him. Okay, so it was kind of true, she and he could hold a conversation for hours without any interruptions except for the desperate need to go to the bathroom. “Well,” She said to his comment about people losing interested at the punch in the face, “You never know.” Her small shoulders rose and fell in a shrug as she buried herself in her sandwich keeping every thought she could off of him, not wanting to mention her feelings towards him and hoping he would ask her.

When he mentioned about the home videos and that she was going to become an adult, she gave him a cheeky smile. “That sounds like a wonderful way to spend my Saturday. Though… I have one request.” She leaned forward a bit, whispering to him, “Seeing as though I’m not going to prom, I did buy a dress. It would be a waste to never wear it. Do you mind if I wear it to your house? I’d feel bad that I purchased the dress and never got to wear it.” And the person I’d want to wear it for is who’s house I’m going to… either that or out fighting crime. When he agreed to it she beamed and the day of school began.
The week was slow, so slow, Rick had begun to act weird. Somewhat withdrawn and reserved, even form his own friends. But there was that twinkle of arrogance in his eyes whenever he looked at her. Either that he was excited he thought she was his date or he had some kind of secret compared to everyone else. This just made her roll her eyes and ignore him at school. He was leaving Peter alone and even Flash left him alone. Though he did get a good lecture from her when they walked back inside from school that day that defending yourself doesn’t make you a bad person; she even referenced Spider-Man and that if the criminals gave him the choice he wouldn’t go out of his way to hurt them, he just subdues them. Then she had to explain about her encounter with him on Sunday night but left out the kiss, she’d be in the doghouse enough as is.

Saturday finally showed up and her parents thought she was going to prom since she spent all day prepping like any happy teen would but little did they know she wasn’t going. And they weren’t too happy when she told them that her date was meeting her there. They called it ungentleman-like and everything but refusing to let her walk to the school they gave her her mom’s jeep and sent her on her way with loving speeches and reminders to be safe. She gave them a small wave, grabbed her bag with a change of clothes so when she called them from Peter’s and said she was staying the night, she wouldn’t have to come home.

Soon the raven haired girl knocked on his door, her pink and black dress her long black hair pulled back into a bun and clipped, her signature perfume aligning her neck and shoulders. She pushed down the ruffles of the black dress as she climbed out of the jeep and locked it. Feeling to make sure everything was in place properly and her flower perfectly rested against her upper left hip, she raised her hand up and knocked on the door, her small bag in her right hand with her clothes for the morning, she listened patiently for Peter to come get the door. She wasn’t sure what the situation was with Aunt May tonight but it shouldn’t be an issue. Could…. Could she tell him tonight?
Taking his head in her hands, she leaned in, the smell of the vanilla perfume noticeable on her as she examined his eye. It’s not as bad as it could have been, especially with how hard Flash could throw a punch if he truly wanted to. Unknown to Lexi, that was her friend’s super powers healing him after than a normal person. “Looks like he didn’t get you too bad, that’s good.” She let go of him in time to get the lecture about what she had done and she allowed her hands to fall into her jean covered lap with a thud as her sweatshirt covered chest fell in a sigh. “It’s a long story I’m not ready to get into yet okay. Let’s just leave it at that.” Lifting her small shoulders into a shrug she reached into her lunch container and pulled out a second sandwich. Placing it in Peter’s hand she began to explain. “I agreed to be his date but I never said I’d go.”

A small laugh left her and she held up her hand to pause him from giving any sort of a negative reaction. “It’s just another dance that’s all. I’m not worried about missing it. Besides it’s not like he’s the person I want to go with anyway.” She said softly as she took out her half eaten sandwich and took a bite. Chewing and swallowing she tilted her head. “Who are you going to ask to prom? There’s got to be someone who tickled your fancy.” She said in a teasing manor as she gave his leg a small kick. Peter was a tough guy and he’d throw a fit if she tried to drag him to the nurse’s office. So what’s her solution to the problem? Feed him and make him happy. A pretty good plan huh?
Poor Lexi was off in her own little world, imagining what life would be like if she ever ran into Spider-Man’s real self. There’s no way he ran around in the suite all the time. He had to be a real person doing real things and he had to have some interests. Maybe they had things in common aside from sitting on rooftops; maybe they could get along outside of the realm of his superhero ways. But could she really sit back and watch someone risk their life just to keep the city safe. Running out at wee hours of the night and leave her guessing on whether he’d return home or not. All these questions echoed in her mind as something to consider if she ever did date a superhero. It would really come down to, does she love the man enough to let him do what he loved to do.

Her world was broken when one of her friend walked by, “Hey Lexi, your nerdy friend just got punched in the face by Flash.”

“What?!” Lexi shouted jumping off the bench and grabbed her things. “Where?!” She followed the direction of her friend’s finger and hurried off. Her gaze scanned the crowd of people before she saw him. “Peter!” She shouted before getting to him. “Oh my god,” She said softly looking at his face. “Flash did this to you? Why?”

Before he could answer, Rick and Flash had found them; Flash smirking a victorious smirk before Rick spoke, “Lexi we need to talk about Saturday.”

“No we need to talk about why the two of you are picking on my friend.”

“Your best friend.” Rick corrected and as the color faded from Lexi’s face, he continued to speak. “Saturday as you may or may not be aware is prom night and you are going to be my date.”

Her blue eyes narrowed, she knew where this was going, and no matter what way she looked at it; she’d be in the doghouse and she wasn’t ready for Peter to find out, especially not like this. “On one condition.” She said sharply. “You leave Peter alone.”

A small nod left him and he turned around, “See you Saturday.” With that he walked away.

Lexi gave a large roll of her blue eyes, well her secret was safe for now. Turning to Peter she pulled him to sit down on the nearby picnic table. “Peter what on earth happened?!”
    Okay that works, thanks.

I do love your post by the way!
She's already escaped and finished her robbery though.

Would you like me to write as if someone found her and she outran them? I'm open to suggestions (just can't post yet on my phone waiting for boss to leave).
Lexi dreamed of Spider-Man, as if they were swinging through the city; she got to see everything from his point of view. In her dream, they stopped on top of the Statue of Liberty where they were just about to kiss as she pulled the mask off of his face. Her dream took a different perspective where she couldn’t see the face of her masked hero but a darkness grew over them and a laugh so cynical that she awoke with a freak, her body flying up out of her bed, her forehead drenched in sweat. A shiver shook her body as she thought about the scary laugh she had just heard. That... was scary... She thought to herself as she climbed out of bed to prep herself for school.

The day went by rather smoothly even though she had to be dropped off by her parents before they went to work. Since her car was part of the fire, she still needed to get a new one. It took some convincing but her parents finally agreed to let her take a karate class. She really needed to keep herself up safe; she couldn’t rely on Spider-Man on the time, right? In Geography, she was drawing her note book, strangely ironic she was drawing a picture of Peter’s face with his cheeky smile, when she’d want to draw something else, she would turn the page and draw on the picture of a face shot of Spider-Man, and she would flip through the two drawings in order to keep herself from getting too bored.

Lunch rolled around and the raven haired girl sat out in the sun, munching on the sandwich she had made; waiting for Peter to join her for lunch.
The exhilaration of having his tongue greet hers was intoxicating. Her heart was pounding, her head was spinning and her whole being was screaming yes to the whole situation. How often does one get a chance to say that they made out with a superhero? Probably not many. Her body leaned into him, wanting the situation to last for a longer while than their last one but alas, something happened as it always does during romantic moments much like this.

Her head turned as Spider-Man broke the kiss to see Ricky starting towards them. Of course! Well at least it wasn’t her parents… or Peter. God knows Peter would want some answers and would probably have questions that neither one of them could answer. But the disappointment spread across her face rather quickly as Ricky squinted to approach them. The light of the street lamp was very bright over their heads and her attention turned to see a large grin on Spider-Man’s face. Her head tilted to one side, not prepping for the kiss but actually to see his grin. Weird… it look famil… Her thoughts were cut off by the quick kiss and her mind raced with other thoughts as she watched him take of into the sky.

“What was that all about?” Ricky said, his sudden arrival making Lexi nearly jump out of her skin.

“What was what all about?” She asked innocently as she opened the small gate to her house and started on the footpath towards the door.

“I think you know. I come here to check up on you after last night’s chaos and I see you kissing Spider-Man.” Lexi just keep walking, not paying attention to Ricky as he spoke. “You can’t just go running off with some crazy dude in pajamas…”

That got her attention. “He is not a crazy dude in his Pajamas.” She snapped, stopping half way down the path to turn to him, “That is a man, a man who stands up for what he believes is right. With or without superpowers, I admire his courage and his drive to fight for justice.”

Ricky may not be the brightest bulb in the box but something seemed to click at that moment. He began to wag his finger at her. “You two have something going on.”

This instantly got a laugh from her as she started up again on the footpath. “Yeah like he has a crush on me.” Her voice filled with sarcasm.

“It’s not him I was referring to.” Ricky said in a shape tone as he stood at the bottom of the steps leading onto the porch.

Lexi stopped at her door, turning around she rested her back against the entrance to her home and looked at Ricky, a small bit of sadness in her eyes. “Ricky listen, I don’t know how to explain this properly so I’m going to try it once. My heart belongs to two people at this moment. One half of it does, in fact, belong to Spider-Man but the other and more powerful half belongs to someone else.” The jock in front of her puffed out his chest with pride, thinking it was him, his expression was to the effect of Better half then none, half is easier to get back. “And that other half belongs to someone I’ve known for many years, someone who has gone through so much in his young life and someone I’m very proud to call my best friend. And Ricky, I’m sorry but it’s not you.” She said with a small nod before open the door. “Just because you don’t own my heart doesn’t mean I don’t want to be friends. I’ll see you at school tomorrow. Good night.”

With that she disappeared into the house, leaving the baffled football star in her walkway looking confused.
A simple walk home just couldn’t be simple. During the day she could easily get through the alleys without there being any problems and here, instead she was in trouble with muggers. Two of them caught her by the arms and she let out a scream. The scream was cut short by the man holding a knife towards her. Her small body shook the terror, she wasn’t used to being so scared and so caught off guard, though she was thankful it wasn’t a gun, but she could still tie if they cut her up.

Something caught her attention, a gleam of red and blue hanging upside down above the man. Her eyes flicked upward to confirm that it was, in fact, Spider-Man but she held her breath, not wanting to draw any attention to the superhero until he wanted it himself. Her eyes twinkled with that knowledge that she knew something that they didn’t know. Upon Spider-Man clearing the area, a smile moved across her lips as he asked the men if they wanted to either hold her as a hostage or put up their hands, the second they let her go she shook herself free and dropped to the ground and crawled away, her back against the cold stone wall of the alley way as she watched Spider-Man do his work. A laugh of amusement let her as he mentioned he should be on WWE.

“I think you’re making me look bad. I thought I was supposed to be a hero and here I can’t even defend myself. Maybe I should take up some martial arts classes.” She said with a small laugh as she took his hand. “I promise I’m not intentionally getting myself into trouble just so we can meet. Next time I’ll just call you and we’ll do lunch.” A playful inviting smirk moved across her full lips as she took his hand and slid into him. “I suppose I could take you up on a ride. But if you’re going to make a habit of giving me rides, you should at least take me out to dinner.” She said jokingly as they took off.

The conversations were light and bubbly, but mostly revolved around Lexi’s awe of the view from their travels. Soon, too soon for her liking, they arrived at her house. Landing gently outside, “I don’t know about you… but, I think that would qualify as a hero’s deed…” She said with a cheeky grin as she leaned into him, her hands traveling this time up his toned muscular chest, feeling every muscle line under the fabric before find the loose piece of lift up the mask, again she stopped enough to reveal his lips. Leaning in she gently put her lips against his. This time when she felt his arms go around her, she leaned in more, pressing her lips more firmly against his as her hands let go of his mask and her arms wrapped around his neck. Her heart was pounding in her chest and her right leg lifted up off the ground. And it wasn’t long before she took a risk and slid her tongue into his mouth… and she didn’t see the headlights of a familiar truck turn off against the sidewalk across the way; she was too taken in by the moment at hand.
“I’ll help clean too; it was just as much my fault as it is Peter’s.” Lexi said, knowing full well that if she was going to yell at someone she was going to yell at Peter even though she was just doing it to help make Peter smile again. At her comment about them being 12 again Lexi shot Peter a cheeky grin, knowing that she had said pretty much the same thing just mire moments before Aunt May had walked back into the room. Taking the towels Lexi got to her feet and washed off her arms as he spoke. Her gaze followed the walls and laughed. “She probably wants the great wall not the art wall. We’ll have to finish that up.”

She did follow his instructions about cleaning off her face before her eyes brightened at his mention of Spider-Man. “Actually, believe it or not, he did show. He was very polite and sweet.” The towel rubbed against her chest in the sad attempt to get the blue off but after scrubbing she realized she’d need her loofa from her bathroom to get the rest of it off. “I got some good answers out of him too; he was very nice to answer them. He said he lost someone really close to him and that opened his eyes to the idea that great power comes great responsibility…” Her voice kind of dropped off as she finished her sentence, her brow pushed together in thought. It seemed like a coincidence that he would bring up the loss of his uncle just after Spider-Man said he lost someone very close to him. Just a coincidence; when her mind decided that’s all it was, she shook her head, pulling herself back into the reality of the situation; hoping she didn’t space out too long.

“If he could change something he said he’d want to a thicker suite.” She gave a heartfelt laugh, a twinkle in her eyes and a smirk on her lips said he had a secret but she wasn’t sure if she should spill the beans to Peter or not; she liked Peter and would be okay if something happened between them but she didn’t feel telling him about the kiss with Spider-Man would be a good idea, what if it bothered him? What if she wanted to make something out of what they had and he pushed her away because of it. She’ll wait until the time is right. “And he said he’d be around, much like everyone’s great grandma that no one really likes to be around but you still love her.” A giggle left her as she helped him finish up the wall and clean up the room.

It was a long project but they both were fed well for their hard work of course and even though she was still in her paint splattered clothes she walked home as darkness filled the skies. It was 8pm when she walked out of Peter’s door and she knew she’d be fine. But she did what she probably shouldn’t have done, she cut through the back alleys to save time… what she didn’t know was that she picked the worst time to do so, as there were men waiting to mug unsuspecting people… much like Lexi and these weirdos preferred to use knives over guns.
