Alright everyone, here's the OOC For all of you.

The year is 3900 BBY, over 1000 years since the Great Hyperspace War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, ending in the defeat of the Sith Empire on the Second Battle of Korriban and appearing to have bested the Sith Empire, scattering and destroying the remaining survivors of this dark Empire. Of course, as suspected by many within the Republic chain of command, the Sith were not gone for good, too many were unaccounted for, especially notable figures such as Naga Sadow himself, and his personal Massassi warriors. For this reason, the Galactic Republic tasked one of its more talented intelligence officers with assembling a task force that was capable of tracking down these remenants and dispatching them, or holding them in place long enough for an emergency force of the nearest military vessels to arrive and obliterate the holdings of the surviving Sith Empire warriors and command. With this taskforce given respectable leeway and funding, the Galactic Republic figured it was safe from the Sith Empire regrouping enough to be a threat, and for nearly 1100 years, it worked, new generations of intelligence and military operators assigned to this taskforce to ensure the Sith Empire remained scattered, and holdouts were eliminated.

However, at the dawn of the year 3900 BBY, a disturbing event occurred that tipped off the Republic Anti-Sith taskforce something was missed, something big. A well patrolled, but distant, system went silent, no Republic channels registering any response when updates were requested. Scouts from the taskforce arrived to find the Republic stronghold obliterated, and the system competely sacked. However, corpses bearing the sigils of the old Sith Empire were found, although they were clearly only missed due to their locations. The scouts sent reports back to the main body of the Taskforce, who were deeply disturbed by this turn of events. The damage to the Republic outpost didn't match any known siege weapons or tactics, Sith or otherwise, which meant it was something new, or unknown. Said weapon apparently could vaporize such a fortified location without giving them a chance to defend themselves. Such attacks, in varying degrees, became more common in the outskirts of Republic space, and even ships in transit were not safe, ships in hyperspace coming out in pieces, clearly hit by powerful munitions. Whatever the Sith had now, the Republic was reliant on its Taskforce to find what is causing all this, and a means to strike against this newfound threat against the Galactic Republic.

So, this RP will be run in an episodic manner, with the plot moving forward based on the actions and success (or failure) of each side in each episode. The Sith come out on top one episode, the reprecussions might show up later on in another episode, and vice versa. And there might be a case where the Republic might win the battle, but still suffer in the long run for one reason or another. So, keep that in mind IC wise, your character might need to consider whats going on in the long and short term (If thats something they care about, of course) before acting. Just some food for thought. And there will be some downtime if folks want it for character development between allies.

Beyond this, I'll keep a chronicle of the summary of the events going on and outcome of past Episodes, so this way, its easy for folks to jump in later on. They can check out the summarized episode list, get a gist of whats going on, so on and so on. And that is another note, even after we start, this will remain open to new players, since it wont be normally too difficult to find a good place to slot a person in, even mid episode, since more than just the player characters will be active at any one time, so no worries there either.
Alright, we all know em and love em, so here are a coupe guidelines/rules to keep in mind for all you fine folks.

1.Should go without saying at this point, but don't godmod, metagame, kill others without permission, keep romance PG13 where everyone else can see it (And if the parties involved want to progress further, take it to Pms), and all that jazz.

2.Some folks are going to be playing some powerful folks, certainly, but keep in mind, no one is unstoppable. Everyone has weakness, strengths, personality flaws and traits, all that. Just something to keep in mind when designing your characters. This is war, so people can die as well, so if someone does kick the bucket, feel free to roll up a new character and jump right back in.

3.Just a note rather than an actual rule, but I'll be, once we are ready to start, getting PM threads set up for folks on both sides, so information that those characters would know can be more easily spread and plans can be formed more easily.

4.Treat each other, at least OOCily, with some respect and courtesy. I dont expect perfect harmony and agreement from people at all times, but act like adults, and we're cool.

5.I tend to prefer a quality over quantity when it comes to posts, but try to get at least one paragraph down if at all possible. And if you can't post, for whatever reason, just say something in PM or OOC wise. Whatever the reason, I don't mind holding someone's character NPC wise if something came up. I do reserve the right to move on over folks if they vanish without saying anything.

6.Have fun! There isn't much point if it becomes a chore, so if anyone has questions, comments, concerns, ideas, and such, post them or PM them, I'll work with anyone who has concerns or questions to the best of my ability.

7.Some other notes and guidelines. The year is 3900 BBY, keep that in mind. There aren't TIE Fighters or other iconic fighters and craft like that. Generally, the movie stuff wont be seen, at all. Think more Knights of the Old Republic for a tech base. I wont be a stickler for precision, since specific tech info is sparse, but as long it makes sense for the time period, we're cool. Same goes for powers and techniques not developed yet, for the same reasons. Roles on both sides are pretty open, but the CO of the Taskforce, and the Dark Lord/Lady of the Sith Empire Remnants, I will be managing those two roles.
Alright, with them out of the way, here's a basic CS skeleton to work off, but feel free to add whatever you feel necessary. This is by no means comprehensive, nor do I intend it to be, just covering vital stuff. I'll leave the (hopefully) self explanatory stuff blank.

Name:
Gender:
Species:
Age: Some species are longer lived than others, but keep in mind, if a human is 90 something years old, odds are, they aren't a soldier on the front lines much anymore.
Homeworld:

Physical Appearance: Feel free to use an image or description, or a combination of the two. Try to keep the blatently anime stuff to a minimum (Don't got a problem with the art style, just doesn't fit very well for Star Wars in my humble opinion). No problem with other artforms, drawings, and such though. I would appreciate at least a paragraph for a typed description of their physical appearance.

Personality: What kind of person are they under fire, off duty, on the job, dealing with friends, family, enemies, ect ect? I figure get at least a paragraph here, so folks have a baseline to expect as the character develops. (Sidenote: I usually consider a paragraph about 4-5 complete sentences.

Skills: What training and abilities does your character have?

Equipment: What kind of weapons, tools, and other personal belongings does this person have?

Powers: This is a force user only section, all you folks that don't have that force connection, feel free to drop this section, blank it, N/a it, whatever floats your boat.

Flaws: Is your character narcassistic to a fault, unable to pilot a ship to save his life, what might hinder and make things challenging for your character?

Personal History: This one will be at least 2-3 paragraphs, at least. Where are they from, what molded them growing up, why are they serving who they serve, and what kind of history do they have together? Lot of stuff can be covered, so I don't reckon 2-3 paragraphs will be that hard.

Extra/Other: Anything I miss above, that you think needs noted? Go for it here, or modify the CS and add it yourself! Just make sure everything is addressed before adding more, please and thank you.

@Sep: Your right, certainly, but part of the reason this Taskforce was developed was to give the Republic means to defend against future Sith without any Jedi intervention or aid. Their presence is welcomed, yes, but actually non vital since no one wants to become too reliant on them. Partly politically motivated by certain groups post Great Hyperspace War, and since the amount of canon information available is fairly sparce for the period I chose (which gives more leeway for making things up and giving players more leeway to work with, story wise amongst others, like the setup I have planned for the taskforce). Jedi do gain more leeway and standing based on that alone, but the way the Taskforce is organized, they are auxiliaries attached to the command, rather than integral parts of it. So, while they may not like it, they do make reports to the senior commanding officer while attached and utilizing Taskforce resources., if they don't like it, they can leave. Its not a formal Superior/Subordinate relationship, but it is an agreement of sorts, that the Jedi attached will try to maintain some chain of command, even if its not formally being ordered about like regular officers and enlisted would be.

@NarcissisticPotato: Your more than welcome to join whichever side you wish, as long as you enjoy your time spent on it, thats what counts.

On a general note, I am working on fleshing out details for the OOC right now, expanding on the Taskforce and its military and logistical strengths, what intel will be available initially on the Sith Empire forces acting here, as well as some other stuff that will need to be addressed. If anyone has suggestions, feel free to voice them here or in PM, and I'll do what I can to implement them, if reasonably possible. I dont want this to turn into some chore that folks aren't enjoying, so if I do gloss over something by accident that someone feels is too important to do so, feel free to either call me out or PM me about it, and I'll try to work something out with you based on your concerns and how everyone else is taking it. I hope that is a fair enough outlook for everyone interested so far.
@Sep: True enough, but the Jedi are not in charge of the Taskforce, not overall. Individual sections and teams within the Taskforce may see Jedi supervisors, but answer to a overall commanding senior Republic officer for all matters related to the group itself. So while the Jedi can complain, he won't be wasting potential talent if it will aid in dealing with the Sith. But your not wrong, not at all, which is certainly something for folks to keep in mind while figuring out their characters.
@LordZell: Certainly, both sides would have reason to employ talented mercs and bounty hunters of various skill sets.
Glad to see all the interest, I'll be getting to work on an OOC then, expect that either tonight or tomorrow. Oh, and as a general note, since there will be info pertaining to both sides, I'll be generating PM groups for the Republic and Sith folks, respectively, to distribute information selective to them, and allow plotting and scheming to be done from as well.

@Blackbeard: Not really, any questions you have can be directed to me, or to Wookiepedia, which I would recommend to anyone who might not recognize tech or other stuff (I'll probably include hyperlinks to stuff if it gets referenced, first time at least, for ease of reference.) And the episodic set up is to help organize the plot and progression of events on my end as well as all of yours, with the events depending on the actions and how the players on both sides try to achieve their goals or not. I have plans for whether the Sith Empire, or Republic, win overall or not.

@Enalais: Yep, Jedi will be attached to the Taskforce, considering how involved it is with dealing with the Sith, the Jedi Council does have a vested interest in its activities.

In short, this RP is based during the Old Republic era of the Star Wars universe, specifically well after the Great Hyperspace War, set during some of the interim years other canon events did not occur, giving free reign to do a lot more. In short, players would be free to play members of this old Sith Empire hold out, and would be privvy to more details on the superweapon, while the Republic Taskforce (Lacks a name at the moment, I'll fix that if enough interest for an OOC is gathered) would have their own advantages, including more up to date equipment and gear (Initially, at any rate) than the Sith Empire would, in larger amounts at any rate.

In short, this would be episodic, with downtime between episodes for off duty character development. Each episode would end in a variety of ways, depending on the actions of the PC's of both sides, and no promises a clear cut victor will always exist from episode to episode. So, anyone interested? Or have any questions, comments, concerns, whatever might be coming to mind that I can address, if at all possible?
Certainly
While the Warpsmith patched himself up and they squabbled over their shares of the augmatics and tools that the sniper had not laid claim to, Atreides kept to the shadows, rifle already reloaded and waiting for the other two to finish up with their plotting and scheming. The plan to use the facilities on board the ship was a smart one, so he made no protest to it, instead merely helping shift the bodies and, when the time came, fell into the shadows surrounding the two of the more obvious of the three man group, moving to hear out this rather interesting message that came from the Princeling. Well, that was a new and interesting situation. Surrender? Not the most tactful of demands, but this ship and its warlord were done, and it was probably high time he moved on anyways. So, if this prince indeed had his own ship, and wasn't some puppet, and use for a renegade sniper, then he would have no problem with an arrangement being made. The exchange between the Apostate and Warpsmith, while entertaining from some perspectives, meant nothing to the sniper either, who took some time to snoop around and found nothing of note, instead sticking to the shadows, determined to remain out of sight of this escort of hers, who had now encompassed the Warpsmith and the other fellow as well. Atreides would keep his element of surprise as long as possible, since that alone could win wars, let alone battles and instant moments of transient, but very real, violence.
Sutomu Yagiri stood, still in his disguise, as he supervised the transfer of the supplies of the dead samurai before him onto the transport they had secured. He didn't mind the actual tactics used to make the assault on the unsuspecting rivals, after all, his own personal style of swordsmanship revolved around sudden, precise attacks in one fell motion. And this kind of ambush was the best plan for evading attention to his clan, as well as securing the supplies that these men and been escorting. He was moving between corpses, checking to make sure they were indeed dead, and a quick drawing slash ensuring that they were indeed dead, and would remain so. Making sure his blade remained clean, and hidden from sight otherwise, he hastened the warriors he was assigned for this task, the longer they were out here working, the more likely someone would stumble upon the situation. He didn't feel like making more problems with additional corpses, or potential witnesses. Both of these things would be unwise and would not work in the long or short run of things, so he could not waste time with pleasantries or respect for the dead, as it were. It wouldn't take much longer to get the supplies underway, firmly under the control of the disguised Sutomu warriors, led by a rather surprising figure, if one would discover his identity.
Hideaki Shouta had followed the other Kabuki-Mono to the market district, with the plan to extort and intimidate the various merchants there, and while his compatriots were busy doing just that, he figured that his own Yumi would be more useful from a vantage point. He let himself into a building that overlooked the market, heading for the top of the building and finding himself a nice, reliable vantage point over the whole market, and as he watched the confrontation unfold, readied his Yumi, resting an arrow against the string of the weapon, ready to be drawn back and released without a moments hesitation, his aim already steadied on the one yelling and demanding the others surrender. Loud, noble, honorable, and a brazen target, Shouta suspected he could make a target like that in a gale, let alone a calm day such as this. But he did not let loose yet, scanning between the opposing samurai and the boisterous one, if things came to violence, one of them would find an arrow in a rather inconvenient, and most likely lethal, location.
