Pre-cautious? Was that even a word? And what exactly was cautious about jumping into a bush as soon as someone saw you and hoping they went away? No matter. He said he was the Hermit? "You mean The Hermit that plays in Milbourne? The one that even the Lord Bryce came to visit?" Of course just about anyone in Milbourne knew about the Hermit and Col practically grew up listening to bards like him. Col debated the merit of asking him to preform something for them, but... It seemed terribly rude. "My apologies sir, I meant no offense. Though what I said remains true, the woods can be dangerous on your own and, well Milbourne seems to be getting more dangerous lately. Perhaps you should consider traveling in the other direction with us instead." Say, bards usually traveled around quite a bit... Could he know something about those giant wolves? "Regardless, this may sound terribly odd but... Have you heard anything about wolves in the area?" Giant wolves would just sound odd, and if he'd heard about any wolves, it would be those ones. And at this point, anything that could help him find Rolfe would be gladly welcomed.

Argh... What should he do? The driver wanted them to help recapture the ancient Pokemon scattered, save for the Tyrunt that stared at them, and were picked off by Ground Pokemon that emerged from the ground with frightening synchronization. What was the right decision? Should they just run? Surely no one could fault them for leaving a dangerous situation they had no understanding of? But what if the driver was rescuing those Ancient Pokemon from someone who was trying to claim them back? Or vice versa? How could... How could he possibly know what to do in this sort of situation? Dawkin's hands hovered over his Pokeballs as his eyes darted back and forth across the hectic scene in front of them. Someone needed their help. But who was in the right? Dawkin set his gaze on the Tyrunt that was staring at them.

"Hey buddy, why don't you come with us? I'm not sure what's going on but you're better off with us." Dawkin said, somewhat hopefully, as he crouched down gestured with his hand for the Tyrunt to come with them. He wasn't trying to catch the Tyrunt, he just wanted to make sure it got away safely. After all, if he wanted to catch he would throw a Pokeball after making sure it couldn't resist. He didn't know what was going on here, but what he said was true: the Tyrunt was surely well off with them and he couldn't say for sure that this was the case for anyone else here. Regardless of if the Tyrunt ran away or followed, Dawkin would attempt to leave the area. Chasing down a lone Pokemon in the middle of this mess would be foolish. "We need to get going Amelia, I have no idea what's going on, but its nothing we want to mess with." After all, their goal was to get through this route safely. That was it.

Lance Ristoff: Light Dorm #1 Student_{and friends}

A duel rather than a boring speech, boo yah! What better way to start off the new year? Lance was eager to see the two teachers go head to head. Ryuji was funny but would probably show a less exciting duel to be honest. It was technically at teacher against teacher duel, but it felt more like a student proving they had surpassed their teacher than two equal rivals. "And Wataru leads off by summoning a powerful monster and taking control of the field, how will Izumi respond against such a powerful turn 1 monster?" Lance said to himself as he watched excited by the duel that was to come.

Akane shook her head an Lance's monologue and adjusted her glasses as she turned to watch the duel. It should be interesting to see two teachers go at it, perhaps she could learn a thing or two. The notebook the perpetually was by her side was raised and she twirled a pencil through her fingers as she watched.

Gaku was similarly excited by the immediate dueling action and promptly shouted, "Go get-em Izumi, show-em what for!", pumping his fist into the air. It was unclear as to why exactly he had chosen Izumi as person to cheer for, but doing it he was. Perhaps he liked the thought of the youth defeating their elders.

Hiroji merely observed silently, more interested in judging every student there as inferior to him and by exactly how much.

Tina was talking animatedly with one of her friends in Light Dorm, seemingly barely aware there was even a duel going on, instead asking about where that earring had come from, it was so shiny and detailed.

Col stared at the bush with some bewilderment. Was... he attempting to pretend that there were other people in the bush with him? Regardless of his skill at imitating voices, it was very clear that there was in fact one person in that bush. Col turned to his group with a shrug and made a little circle gesture with his pointer finger to indicate the fellow might be a bit loopy. If he was then the fellow really shouldn't be wandering around in the forest, he'd be better off in a town of some sort where he could get help. Col would feel bad leaving him out here alone. "Yes well, people in the bush aside, I think it may be better for you if you came with us to the nearest town, after all the woods can be a dangerous place on your own. Would you care to come with us sir?"

Lance is a lanky fellow, standing at 6 feet two inches, not quite thin but certainly not muscled. His silver hair sprawls out over his shoulders and seems to be only lazily kept in check. His pale blue eyes seem reminiscent of a clear sky and can be seen filled with good cheer. As a member of Light Dorm and a natural performer he tends to look rather flashy, which accessories similar to that of his monsters.

Personality
Lance is a great person to be around. He's always fun to talk to, never takes anything too seriously, and speaks his mind. Always ready with a joke or a bit of advice. One might say he's a bit eccentric as he tends to over-bling himself. He lives for the thrill of a duel, watched or played, and enjoys announcing them, either out loud or to himself. He's nearly impossible to anger but he can be a bit annoying if you aren't ready for him. He can of course, also be a bit of a flirt, though he's quick to back off if reprimanded.

History
Lance grew up on watching videos of dueling so it was only natural that he should have an interest in it. But more than that, he grew enamored with the dramatic and suspenseful style of duels he saw. Lance bought some decks and played around to find what fit him best. After a bit of trial and error he found a deck that suited his style quite nicely in it's ability to turn the boards on its head. Naturally anytime he dueled to took over the job of new-caster and announced the events of the duel as they happened to make them more exciting. One student found this trait rather annoying and attempted to defeat Lance in a duel to get him to stop. The student in question only becoming more angry when Lance was able to seemingly fend him off with ease. Even more so when Lance wouldn't respond to his angry insults and jibes, save for with more commentray. In general Lance found dueling, both watching and playing, to be the greatest thing ever. He took to watching a student named Akane who seemed to try quite hard but never seemed to have much luck. Lance tutored her a bit and pointed out some strategies she could use to preform better. He also avoided dueling her directly, pointing out that it would be better to test his strategies on someone other than himself. The two began to hang out together, even while not talking about Duel Monsters. At some point he found out that Akane was planning on attending Haromnia academy and decided to go himself.

The exam wasn't too troublesome but Lance didn't try very hard either, nestling himself comfortably in 5th place, where he remained until the end of the 2nd year. Gaku, having known him since elementary continued his tradition of dueling constantly, but never officially, during which time Gaku slowly pulled his rating up until he made it to 3rd. Akane didn't really know why Lance didn't bother trying to get rated when he could clearly make it into the top 5 but dismissed it as one of his eccentricities. At the end of the 2nd year Lance made his move and dramatically ascended to 1st place from practically unknown near the end of the year, climbing past Gaku and Akane, both of which were upset in their own way. He planned on being 1st for his entire 3rd year, as it made for a rather entertaining story. Some might say spending the entirety of his time at the school plotting for this was excessive, but those people didn't properly appreciate a dramatic tale. The underdog who managed to climb his way to the top in his last year from obscurity and hold it against all comers. Yes, this was to be his story!

Akane Revol

A duelist that puts a lot of thought into what she does and greatly admires those who have skill at the game. Inversely however, she can be scornful of those who lack such skill and don't show sufficient talent, desire to improve, or sheer lack of thought. She's very interested in the game from a mechanical point of view but also enjoys the act of dueling itself. She finds Lance to be rather strange but his skill at the game keeps her around and, well he is a fun guy.


Appearance: Akane is fairly average height, standing at 5 feet and 5 inches tall. Her brown hair is separated into bangs at the front and it hangs down loosely behind her to the small of her back. She is nearsighted, and wears her red-rimmed glasses most of the time. She tends to wear a sweater as she gets cold easily. When put into a corner she responds with quiet, but fierce resolve.

Deck: Crystron

Gaku Kubo

A hot-blooded duelist who believes that the battle phase is the most important phase and plays accordingly. He doesn't think his actions through most of the time but usually comes out on top regardless. If he losses expect an immediate rematch offer. Gaku has challenged Lance numerous times but fallen short every time. To not see them battle at least once a day is an irregularity. Despite this he's not a bad person and can be seen helping out other students by practice dueling and encouraging them. If he sees something wrong he'll be sure to try to fix it himself.

Appearance: Gaku is a 5 foot tall bundle of energy, rather well muscled, such that he clearly does some sort of exercise regularly. He can always been see moving, even if it's something as small as tapping his foot up and down impatiently in class. His short spiky brown hair makes one think of an energetic hedgehog and his brown eyes match accordingly. There's a small scar on his right cheek from who knows what and tends to wear short, non-restrictive and simple clothing; despite the luxuries available to him in light dorm.

Tina Lori

A cheery girl that seems like a bit of airhead at times. She has a bubbly personality and loves to talk, even if no one is listening. She doesn't dwell too much on the game, taking it very lightly, not concerning herself too much with wins and losses. Despite this, she's quite good at the game, enough to place her comfortably in 4th place. She may very well be able to climb further but doesn't show much interest in doing so. Tina is rather kind and makes sure to congratulate her opponent after a duel, regardless of outcome.

Appearance:

Tina is a bit on the short side at 5 feet and 1 inches and light for her size. She tends to wear frilly or extravagant clothing, taking full advantage of her light dorm privileges and bending the rules of the dress code as much as possible.

Deck: Red Dragon

Hiroji Ono

A light dorm student with a flair for dressing as royally as possible. Don't be fooled by his dashing good lucks however, as those are about the only good thing about him. he can be quite cruel to anyone not from light dorm, or who he feels doesn't belong there with harsh backhanded compliments and outright insults. In a duel he constantly belittles his opponent. He is only 5th because he enjoys crushing anyone who wants to climb the ladder while still being in the top 5, though naturally he proclaims he could be 1st if he tried.

Appearance:
Hiroji stands quite tall at 6 feet and is a bit on the thin side, though that often isn't noticed amidst is clothing. His pale yellow hair is slicked back and doesn't make it past his shoulders. He has a charming demeanor, until you get to know him that is. Expensive outfits and jewelry are found on him at all times, as well as a smile that edges on creepy.

Deck: Monarch

-Moon Mirror is nice but it's awfully counter-intuitive to what lunalights do. That is to say beatsticking the daylights out of them. It's alright on cat dancer I suppose.
-This seems like Waboku but harder to use. Admittedly you could get a bit of LP but, I'd rather not worry about my opponent having precisely 3 cards. It is pretty dramatic though...
-This is... Pretty alright.
-Boy countering effect damage is situationally uselessful, I mean we are running heart of the cards but I'd rather not base my choices off that. I'd prob run Cattle Call over this.
-Don't need lp if they're dead right :<
-I mean it's a nice card but there are very few situation in which Lunalights are out attacked.

Most traps are based around disrupting your opponent and for the purposes of drama/Lance's style/having fun it's best to let you and your opponent simply clash with the full strength of your respective decks.

Thank you for the card suggestions though. The Grave of Enkindling is something I've never seen/heard of and is actually ok, while Three Strike Barrier and Prideful Roar were also unknown to me. ^.^
