We're slowly working on that new concept, but we need to hash out some things, like finding that map.

We've not found a completely blank version yet, but Sep found one with a few extra bits. The question is this: same map, or new one? What do people here vote?
" When worn, only the chosen holder of the relic can take off the key when it is being worn in any fashion. "
This bit is the one that immediately strikes us as least plausible about the character.

We'd also say you should have some sort of ability beyond unnatural wanderlust, some sort of tangible goal or some ability that makes her unique or somehow superior to regular people. It doesn't have to be powerful. Right now she's not really all that different from any other person. There's nothing making her more powerful.

The clothes on the image seem a bit modern/futuristic, but thats a minor detail.

Blox: right now, with Sparks dropping out, a reboot of sorts is being discussed.
agreed, sep.

We already got a few ideas for building up to it.

Keeping Da-hyun as a far-off kingdom that is essentially unknown to most would fit well. Probably about as foreign as Kalesia, really.
Agreed.

We would suggest a clearly defined map scale. maybe 2x2km per pixel?
That would leave us with a world of roughly 9922x7016km. Minus a little for the ocean of course, but still manageable. There might be other continents, but they wouldn't be relevant for a long time. Going with those dimensions, Kalesia would roughly be 3000x2800km. Enough for a large empire that wouldn't initially be explored.

We'd recommend sticking mostly to Othea for the start. But someone should build up that nation enough to have a playground society for the players.

We'd keep at least some of the Empire, but we'd try to keep it more mystic. If those mountains are as forbidding as they look, there probably wouldn't be much contact between the Empire and Othea. People would have heard of it, but not really know it. We'd set the Empire up as villains in relation to the Othean gov't, but not as evil to the populace. That leaves the players with a difficult choice of whether to support the local government or the invaders who treat the people well. Both of those can backfire.
Our second imagination is that Amaryth gets taken, but that the rest of the nation isn't as easily conquered.

Is that set of ideas one others think is decent?
The one thing we'd say favors a (partial) reboot is the fact that a number central of elements lack players to control them (Othea, the Knights of Idris, Relics constabulary, the reason almost everyone fled Amaryth, etc. )

But there's also the issue of what lore to keep if we do that. Some things shouldn't be discarded. and there's a lot of character development that shouldn't go.
We'd like to discard some elements of Kalesia. Some of them don't make perfect sense now, and some of them make it more difficult for others to play with it.

All that said, we still think this RP could also work well as a simple continuation too.

One thing's sure. A new thread needs to give ample credit to Sparks. It was his idea that sparked all this. Without a new thread or Sparks, editing the OP will be impossible, so it essentially has to be done.
Either way works. Keeping it will mean less development, restarting will mean that some early mistakes can be fixed. (we know we made many of them.) The most pesky issue is the sudden change in scale when we realized how small the world would be based on some numbers.

And Sparks was a very good GM. This RP couldn't have developed without his wonderful base idea. Its sad to see him go.
Thats more or less the reason we've read, Barks.
Not really, Blox. There's maybe a little discussion, but its not drama-level. The ex-GM (Sparks) has been leaning towards that choice for almost a week. We tried working towards convincing him not to pick this choice, but it appears we failed. The RP evolved away from his original idea.

It is most sad to see it reach this stage. We're willing to do some work for this, but we'd rather not do it alone. This RP deserves to live.
We really don't care for arguments today. Going about nearly nude when working is illogical. Unless you're a plain and simple whore working at whoring. Even then, if you're at all outside a warm building, you'll quickly catch hypothermia going about dressed in metal bands. Unless you try to godmod yourself out of any situation potentially involving direct combat (which we rather doubt you will), you'll eventually come into a situation where you're forced to fight prolonged.

Only being affected by iron isn't really logical, and it is very much overpowered. Not quite as OP as only gold, but still OP. We'd recommend going with metals instead. Perhaps refined metals being more effective against her than raw ore or contaminated ones. That'll make hiding a bit more challenge. We'd also suggest being able to take certain objects with you into the walls you're fond of hiding in. I.e. your peasant clothes.

Or the opposite. Rawer materials are harder to pass through, metals are resistant. That would explain why she doesn't fall through floors / Stairs / the ground).

The best way to hide being an evoker is by looking like everyone else, not by having dozens of potential relics on you. If someone wants to steal your relic, they will remove all objects they think could be it, not one at a time. And to be sure they do that, they would strip off any garments to be sure nothing is hidden underneath. And it is at that time the toe ring will become very suspicious.

As the crossbow discussion was all done some 60-80 pages back, we're not in the mood for going through it again.
Crossbows = nono because someone wanted knights in shiny armor. There's no central church here with the power that the church had in the middle ages, so there's no authority that could issue same ban on heavy crossbows that was issued in the middle ages. Without such a ban, all those noble knights in their expensive (and shiny) plate armor will find themselves pin-cushioned by the companies of easily trained crossbowmen. In the middle ages, crossbows ended up banned because the nobles found themselves awfully vulnerable to such weapons and convinced the church to ban them.

If wearing heavy armor (especially like Markul), arrows have to strike just right to cause harm, if the angle is wrong, they ping off plate armor. Crossbows have slightly shorter range, but more force, so they perforate thicker armor. thus, wherever you mentioned that bit about markul not being affected by arrows Freeshooter, we didn't react, because it made some sense. You could probably have him react in the future, even if it is only in irritation at how harmless they are to him.
