You shouldn't have trouble finding someone to play with you as long as you don't have REALLY weird tastes...and even then, you should find someone. Or a group. Depends on your interests, obviously. Facebook groups are not exactly ideal for that kind of stuff, so it'll be different here, but not so different that it's daunting, I'd assume. You're probably fine~

Welcome. I do hope you enjoy your stay. You seem to have very commonly enjoyed fandoms; you shouldn't have trouble finding RP partners at all. And there's nothing wrong with being unable to play canon characters. You gave a lot more information about yourself in here than most people.

You are interesting, if slightly unoriginal for the name. I may call you shaitan. Or djinni. Or anything else I fancy calling you. Or just "you." If I call you anything. I usually don't. But the important thing is our genre interests align, and I would be more than willing to RP with you if you don't mind a "everything is true" style modern fantasy conspiracy RP with elements of cosmic horror. I don't think any of the people I originally asked would still be interested in it by now, but I actually have things to work with now, even if it DOES end up in three or more separate RPs. Or just several in the same universe...(I could do it as a 1x1, though)

Might as well say it here, though I doubt people would be interested (and honestly, it would be hard to work with, since it would require so much coordination AND involve replaying the same scenes AND have very little direct interaction between players (though there could be, and WOULD be if the pairings or groups or whatever either met at the same place at the same time or I didn't have people play multiple characters to avoid it), with changes, but...). This is copypasta with some edits from Skype.

[5:47:54 AM] *** Alice kind of wants to run an RP where the characters only know what's going on now, with several time skips in BOTH directions revealing what started the chain of events AND how it ends. Sort of like the first Siren game (one of my favorite horror games). Basically, I'd have my own character and GM posts, with GM posts setting times and which people are involved in scenes (with multiple simultaneous scenes). They would be replaying scenes (which I know will be a hard sell), but there will be changes based on scenes that happened earlier...
So...time travel, but not? There would be characters who would be paired up (I'd ideally want 6 or 8 people), though it wouldn't have to be romantic pairings (could be like "teacherxstudent" and "parentxchild", even "copxsuspect just trying to get to the prison through the shitstorm".
I'd have to come up with a simple skeleton for the plot to follow, and advance what happened. I'd have a timeline in the first (or second, actually) OOC post, with summaries of ALL ACTIONS TAKEN.

Actually, a single person playing the pairings, individuals, or groups would be best, so it's a smaller overall group. Downside is there'd be NO DIRECT INTERACTION between players... ***

I'd probably set it in a small town, but unsure exactly where.

I could have it set in a more urban setting (or even a LESS urban setting, like in a forest, but where's the fun in that?), even.
I know it's a hard sell, as I said MANY times, and I don't have anything completely decided yet. I mean...I'd prefer dark fantasy/cosmic horror, but that's not necessary.

There's nothing wrong with playing trap characters. Just don't make them go about flopping it out every post. In fact, it should never be flopped out. >.> There are kids about. Something something, out. Lout, maybe. Scout? Route. Keep that to PMs.
