You showed up.

One way or another, you've arrived at my profile. You've taken a wrong turn in an alleyway because you didn't pay enough attention to your map. You've heard of something cool and new and thought maybe you'd see what all the fuss is about? Or maybe it is that you noticed like me updating my status or were lurking through an RP or something I am in and just kinda clicked my profile, that happens too. Regardless, you'll come to learn that your actions have consequences. Not this one since you can always just, like, leave.

I have a few names and I don't mind being called whatever you fancy at that given time. KingofTheSpectrum, FamishedPants, ChadChadlainn. Any derivative of these is fine as well. Most tend to use Pants, however. I'm nearing my thirties and enjoy games, anime, V-tubers, and visual novels. You can find my still-obsolete list here as it contains everything important on it.

As for games particularly, I am a huge fan of Devil May Cry, Metal Gear Solid, Nier and its sequel, FFXIV, and recently, Project Wingman.I tend to lean towards shooters and action games, but I have also wasted 8+ years on League of Legends. I think the only games I tend to avoid are card games and sports games, but there can always be exceptions.

For anime, I tend to watch whatever looks entertaining. It doesn't have to be good. I've seen a lot of the generic, poor-quality isekai harems that are out there. It's difficult to remember what I actually genuinely like, but Chaika the Coffin Princess comes to mind, as well as FMA: Brotherhood. I'm currently enjoying Tokyo Revengers.

I've read my fair share of visual novels, as my list would tell you. I can't recommend going through Muv Luv Extra/Unlimited, then playing Alternative enough! Big fan of Rance, Grisaia no Kajitsu, and Demonbane as well. I could probably go on and on about them, but I'll stop here.

Also, fuck you, Broken.

Silhouette

"Unseen and unheard."

In the last moments before the Earth Bastion had gone from Earth to the Overcity, Silhouette had made her move. She darted from one hiding place to the next as she advanced upon the ship and eventually jump into the side and clung to it, crawling higher up until she found a place on the side she could wedge her arm into. With the application of stasis on the limb, it was more likely that the Earth Bastion would break before her arm did, and Sil probably didn't have to worry about that happening anytime soon.

Of course, the police had not stopped firing their weapons at the ship or at Sil herself, as it was likely they were under the impression she was a part of this weird group. Thankfully for her, there was absolutely nothing they owned that could even scratch Silhouette's costume. It was quite sturdy even for a magical girl's, and even had they landed a blow on her exposed head, it wouldn't have been anything her regeneration wouldn't take care of immediately. Her biggest threat would be getting discovered by the other Mahou Shoujo aboard this vessel, which she succeeded in avoiding for now, which was indicated by her unimpeded crossing of the portal created.

It was unpleasant though, to say the least. She didn't exactly have the most comfortable position on the boat...thing that this had become since she'd sabotaged it. Still, she managed to hold on and once the Earth Bastion had completely gotten through, she had no problems.

This place looks... odd.

The Dark Magical Girl did not care much for this strange scenery. It was unfamiliar and that meant more for her to be cautious of while she attempted to complete her mission. At least on Earth, she knew exactly what to expect but here? With dragons and checkered floors, this was beginning to look a lot like some fantasy realm a kid invented. Only much less 'fun' looking. She'd need to be careful more than anything while she was here. Sil was not blessed with a natural ability to traverse between Earth and this place. To get home, she'd either need to stowaway once more upon the Earth Bastion, or she would need to rely on Veronica setting something up. Due to the limited time she had to begin the mission, Silhouette was not able to confirm anything solid as a means of escaping this place, but it didn't make sense for Veronica to leave a pawn like Sil out with no way to return, so in the most basic way possible, Silhouette trusted she wouldn't be entirely out of options should she not be able to stick to the ship again.

In one way, however, things did go smoothly for Silhouette. The surrounding area was rather dark, and seeing a fair distance out was all but impossible to those not gifted special vision. This boded well for Sil, who wished to remain unseen for the time being. As soon as was possible, she jumped from the side of the ship and made her way to the outer edge of the light, where spotting her just about impossible. Nobody would accidentally catch sight of her, and anybody attempting to use magical methods that could spot her would stand out due to her Third Eye, so she could relocate or adjust her distance in that case. Hopefully, this was enough to allow the assassin to tail the...Bastion for now.

A Discord is a good idea. That's the place where people bugging me to post are most likely to get an answer. :^)
Once again, I have not died, though I would not be surprised if anyone thought differently. Seems I'll have my chance to make a post very soon! A man of my calibur cannot ignore the summons of the local Yas Queen.

Zachary quietly approached the counter, collecting himself before the inevitable showdown that was about to unfold. He had to ask himself if he'd truly have the same stance were it another individual put into that situation. He imagined it. Again, what if it were Cyrus instead of Krista there? At the moment, Zachary hadn't any reason to personally dislike anybody more than him, and even that wasn't very genuine. So in that hypothetical scenario...

...He couldn't let Cyrus die, and he still would not allow himself to sit idly by and watch somebody sacrifice themself in vain! Given the situation at hand, Zachary had absolutely no reason to trust that it would end with anything other than two deaths instead of one. Perhaps if he were the odd man out, he could reluctantly back down, but that wasn't the case. He wasn't the odd man out! He wasn't crazy! And so, a fire in his heart, he knew he couldn't back down. Even if it hurt to argue with his only friend.

Jezebel approached with her head up, eyes locked with Zachary's. There was no uncertainty lingering in her eyes. If anything, she looked outraged that someone would dare suggest to go through with this rescue. The trickster was shorter than Zachary, but height meant nothing in a battle of ideas. Jezebel had proven herself far better than Zachary at arguing her points in the last trial. This had the potential to end very poorly.

“So...” Jezebel began. “Like, you totally think it's a good idea to risk everyone for that little liar?” She gave Zachary a sideways glance. “Like, do we even know Krista is going to die?”

"Are you saying that she's not worth trying to save because she's lied before?" he instead asked. "She's locked up with the 'sister' of a robot that tried to turn a competition into a bloodbath, and who doesn't seem to be above tricking people into captivity. You shouldn't have to even ask that. It's not a matter of 'if", it's 'when'."

“If we can't trust emo bot, then we totally can't trust killer teddy. Cyrus didn't even bat an eye when the fur ball offered his help.” Jezebel unfolded her arms and placed them on the counter. Her hands were closed into fists. “As for Krista, It's not like she was hiding baby pictures. She hid something very important from all of us.” She fret her brow. “Let that sink in okay? She totally trusted that robot over all of us. I wouldn't be surprised if she was working with them. Nobody can be that stupid, right? If so, it’s not like we can stop this sort of thing from happening again. Betty keeps walking into trap after trap.”

Zachary nodded. “I won’t disagree with you there. I also don’t like the idea of placing any amount of trust on someone who is keeping us in here.” Had he any alternative options when Geina attacked him, the Archer would not have relied on the bear to get him out of that mess. But the doctor wasn’t the priority right now. “But moving on,” he stole a glance at the robot before returning to Jez. “I can understand that she has not been entirely honest with the group over something fairly severe, but again, is that really enough to warrant abandoning her to her death? Or, even in the best-case scenario, leaving her and another to be confined with that killer bucket of bolts until it decides it just wants to kill them? As Cyrus mentioned earlier, there’s a very real possibility that it’ll only continue asking for more and more sacrifices, then what? We’re down two people at the very least and in the same predicament?”

Jezebel folded her arms up with a groan.“Like, to be totally honest with you, I don't think Aleecia should turn herself in and junk. But if that's what she wants to do, like, who are we to stop her?” She gave the archer a sideways glance. “Like, going to your point about what Krista deserves. I don't think it's that she deserves to be condemned, I don't think she's done a lot to earn her rescue.” The clown's face suddenly scrunched up in anger. “Like oh my god! Even if you can forgive her for running into Nariko's loving embrace, she still insisted on being Erin's ally. And before that, she totally ran away from the people who were protecting her to be with some barf bag. That was how the first murderer in this killing game happened. She got one of her protectors killed. Is it all coincidence that it just happens to always be her?” She threw up her hands in mock submission. “I'm sure, I'm so sure.”

Zachary found himself grinding his teeth to the point it was almost audible to everybody around him. He had been as calm as one could really be while arguing with a life or two on the line, but Jez's statement had obviously touched something the Archer couldn't address without exploding. His fist collided with the counter quite with a loud thud.

"Earn?!" he repeated, throwing his hand out to the side. "So we have to 'earn' our freedom and be 'worth it' to live? You and that ventriloquist are suggesting this, seriously? I can't agree with that kind of thinking, at all! I can agree that Krista has made some really stupid decisions, and I won't fault you or anybody else for being upset she's kept the truth hidden. But I refuse! I refuse to believe that a life should be ditched over something so miniscule, so insignifcant! A life is worth so much more than doubt or practical use!" wearing an expression that was hard to decipher, he continued quietly. "There's... only one equivalent."

His arm fell back to his side and his expression softened. "...Hate her. Shun her. Hell, interrogate her, I'll even help! But abandoning somebody to die is just too cruel, and the only other alternative to that is even more questionable than Krista herself. Even if there's a risk or hard feelings, we shouldn't willingly cull our numbers." Perhaps given his clearly emotion outburst seconds prior, the effect of Zach's subsequent attempt at a logical reasoning was diminished, but at the very least it would make it clear that he had chosen the side out of an actual investment rather than something not quite as solid.

“Like, willingly culling our numbers would be rescuing her.” Her hands were balled into tight fists. If it weren't for her gloves, Jezebel's knuckles might have shown up to be pure white. “Even if Cyrus's radical plan saves everyone, it's just a matter of time before she gets someone else killed. Or are you okay with saving someone if it means someone else has to die down the road?” The clown looked Zachary in the eye.“I'm so not abandoning anyone. I'm totally making the choice that protects the most of us. Because I care about everyone, Zachary. I'm not bad enough to risk everyone's life for some two-faced blond bimbo. Jezebel quickly fashioned a smile. “Am I missing something Zachary? Is that what makes her worth our lives? You're so into blonds, aren't you?”

His eyes cast downwards to the floor, Zachary gave potentially the longest, most drawn-out sigh ever conceived in the history of sighs. He shoulders slumped as though he'd finally given up. Slowly, the young man looked back up to his friend and opponent, and begun speaking.

"Yes." he said straight. "I don't think I need to tell you, but I really do take our promise as serious as a heart attack. Even if we're at a disagreement currently, I don't think any less of you and I still do trust in you. It might sound weird, but that's the truth. And another truth, Jezebel, is that I really want to make it so that you do not have trouble doing the same, which means I certainly do not want to lie to you." Ackerson gave himself a minute to think before continuing. "One of the only ways I can think of proving this to you is by telling the truth, even if it's difficult or won't lead to my ideal result in a given scenario. So, again, let me say 'yes'."

He rubbed the back of his neck softly. "Yes would be the answer to your last question. Aesthetically, I do find Krista, as a blonde, very physically attractive. I would even say, given our brief interaction before all of this, that I find her fairly pleasant to be around, but this is said by a man who had never cared enough about her before to really be affected personally by her deception, so take that for what you will.

However, this does not matter. I can only repeat what I've said before in that my stance would not change if it wasn't Krista up there. If it were Cyrus, if it were Max, and especially if it were you, I would still choose the attempt to save over the other two choices. So please, even if we cannot agree on this subject, at least do me a favor and take my opposition seriously! Because even if that weren't the case. Even if I were thinking with my dick and not my heart, Krista is most certainly not the first person I would jump headfirst into danger for just to get the chance to fuck."

Jezebel's sarcastic smile had disappeared sometime during Zachary's “confession.” The trickster was leaning against the counter with one elbow, while her other hand was on her hip. “Like, do I want to know who you 'would' jump head first into a fight for? To fuck I mean?” The question must have been rhetorical because Jezebel did not give Zachary enough time to answer it. She folded her arms and stood with her shoulder and hip pointed towards the archer. “We can totally stand here and argue, but neither of us are going to budge.” Jezebel looked at Zachary. “Like, you'll just keep listening to your heart, and I'll so keep listening to my head. There's no point in discussing this further with you.” Her eyes softened. ”It's not that I don't understand how you feel. I totally get that. It's just... Jezebel trailed off. “Bogus.” The trickster turned her back towards Zachary and walked away from the counter.

“So it seems.”

Zachary, too, decided to leave the counter, as there was simply nothing more he could do.
I hope it's at least somewhat obvious where Zachary stands on the issue. I would love to have a scrum debate, that sounds entertaining.
Zachary Ackerson

Up until now, Zachary never really had a reason to dislike anybody other than Cyrus, who had insulted him during the last trial, and even then, it was not as though Zachary could hold that grudge forever. It was silly, after all. During that trial, emotions and revelations ran rampant. There was almost nobody who had kept a cool head and so things had obviously gotten out of hand. The Infinite Archer could realize this much and with some talking, he was sure that he and Cyrus could return to having a neutral relationship, at the very least. Since he was the one to inform Zachary of their situation when he first arrived, Zach had a positive opinion of him initially. So there was absolutely no true dislike for the politician or anybody else alive, for that matter.

Ignoring 'friends' he made online and the various people he placated with a public face, Zachary quite honestly had only one real relationship. It was his father. The man who meant the world to him. It was only very recently that he'd made his first actual friend in Jezebel, an older woman whom he looked up to for her maturity and kindheartedness. The latter of these two traits, however, was called into question. Her response to this situation had come to Zach's surprise. Sure, he was aware that Jez may not prefer Krista's company, what with that whole deal during the trial, but he wasn't expecting this!

Zachary was almost overwhelmed by the different emotions he experienced in this moment. On one hand, an almost sick feeling took him as he saw his one friend quite obviously in emotional pain. It was clear there was more to this than just some lingering resent after the trials. However, the young man could not offer any form of support to his friend, as he also felt both disappointment as well as anger towards her for deciding that Krista should die. The best he could do was not go ballistic. At least, not yet.

It might be wise to clarify that Zach adamantly believed that offering up Aleecia to the Carnage Sister would effectively get both Krista and her killed, at the very least. If what Davis said was true, that Krista visited the Sister willingly, then it could be inferred that she was tricked and that was why she was now in this situation. Who was to say that the Sister would even keep her word, then? What if she just offed all three of them? And what would the group get in return even had she not? They would be down two people and it was always possible that the Nariko would simply ask for more and more. Currently, Max and Zachary were on the same wavelength when it came to this particular option. And with the alternatives being "Let Krista die" or "Try to save her", it became painfully obvious that anybody who was not for saving Krista was in the wrong. Leaving a fellow survivor, no matter whom it was, to this kind of fate simply was not something Zachary was capable of. He'd reach the same conclusion if it were Cyrus locked away instead.

“So we’re basically fixing your mistake? And for what, a violinist that can give us nada in return? I don’t know about you guys but the lives of the people in this room seem so much more valuable than that of one violinist."

Braden's line was what set Zachary off. Anger that had been boiling since Jez, of all people, opted out of saving a fellow member, finally reached the point where Zach could no longer remain quiet.

"How fucking ironic that the person suffering DID and disguising it with puppets is talking about how is useful and who isn't. It's also pretty fucking disgusting. Really shows what kind of character you are behind those masks. The kind I really would rather avoid if I'm alone. Remind me not to turn my back on you since I don't want to end up a victim." Zach was furious. That this guy mentioned valuing lives over another was something he could not forgive. He hated this prick, even if this was the first time they'd interacted. He hoped it'd be the last, too. "And, I can't understand why anybody actually believes the robot death machine that probably JUST lied to Krista would not go ahead and do the same to us once we hand over Aleecia. And in that case, there's only one viable course of action."

He glared at his friend but doing so probably hurt himself more than her. That he was even in such a rage and that it was partially directed towards her wasn't something he was happy about whatsoever. But still, something like this was no joke. "You can't be serious, Jez.

How can you justify throwing a life away like that?"
@GamerXZ

If I recall correctly there aren't too many actual DMGs right now. I went with one since I wanted to play a bad guy, but I don't think you're required to be evil to be one.

It might be a bit disappointing to hear, but nothing too interesting happened in the time between Krista ditching him and Cyrus' call on the speakers. It was rather upsetting that Krista had ditched him for... 'that' guy. Sure, she left him with another pun, but puns don't fix everything. At least, not yet. If they could, then he'd be shooting off puns until this damned Kazoo showed up, as after looking for a while, it almost appeared as though the facility did not have one. Which was definitely strange. How could this shitty hospital dare claim it has the coolest and best gadgets when there's no kazoo?

Pathetic. I should bring this up with the man who runs this place!

...Except that the person he would need to talk to was insane and placing people in a twisted 'game' of sorts, so somehow, Zachary felt this would not achieve the intended result. Opting not to possibly incite the murderer, the Infinite Archer was just about to give up when he noticed the familiar shape of the best instrument ever created right before him, in a spot that was... actually rather obvious. The young man was a bit irritated that he hadn't noticed it before but also glad that there was even one here. Kazoos are love, kazoos are life.

Well, that's one objective complete. But now what? I guess I could practice for a bit.

And so, the man started playing the kazoo. He did so furiously, blowing up a storm and making sweet, sweet music. He was no musician himself, so he opted to simply take a song he'd heard before and replicate it as best he could on the weapon he now wielded. Honestly, it was something so beautiful, so gorgeous, that had there been any onlookers, they might have fainted from the sheer amount of awe they'd experience from witnessing the masterpiece. Fortunately, for now, at least, Zach hadn't run into anybody while he played the Kazoo. Unfortunately, however, Cyrus' voice rang out across the hospital, with some an urgency in his voice. Briefly, the archer wondered if he would have to see another body, but after thinking for a moment, he realized there was no Body Discovery Announcement, so that was unlikely. Still, nobody just shouts on these speakers unless they're a robot, so perhaps he should head over. Kazoo in the mouth, the young Infinite made his way to the rest of the group.

...

...

...

...He was just a bit behind Cyrus, as the man had begun speaking before Zach had entered the room. Still, Zach caught every important part of the situation. Krista was in trouble, and if they did not help, then she would probably die! How could he just sit idly by while his alternate self was murdered!? They hadn't even had their duet! So, with a determined spark in his eyes, he declared that he would do anything in his power to help his fellow Infinite!

At least, he tried to. While he attempted to say something akin to "I'll go!", what actually came out was...

"TOOT TOOT"

The situation was serious, his new friend was in danger and they likely would be in conflict with those killer machines again. With all of this weighing on his mind, the young Infinite had forgotten he didn't take the kazoo out of his mouth. How embarrassing! Still, this wasn't exactly a situation where silly things should happen, so he quickly removed his kazoo and clearly declared after clearing his throat:

"I'll go! We can't let anyone else die."

Hey if the ship's gonna be working again can I go ahead and sneak back on it?
