Vix -- And Make It Double!
Shut my mouth or she'll make me a spook?! EXCUSE ME?! A death threat over a few minor jokes?
For the most part, Vix was taken rather aback by what the girl threateningly stated. Fearful however, she was not. Much to the contrary in fact, as her hands balled into angered, white knucked fists. However, as with all things of indignant state, her anger faded, and instead was quickly replaced by a mischievous smile
A few teasing jabs equate to death threats. Hmh. Someone takes themselves a little too seriously. That will come in handy later...
Yet what was even more surprising, as she continued to guage the situation, was the state of Jaden! What had once been happy-go-lucky-lived-behind-a-wall had rapidly evaporated right before her eyes! Wha lt had once been naiveté had been forged into rigid steel!
And not the kind that melted with fire, either. The kind that spoke resolutely, with heavy weight upon each syllable as if each word he uttered oozed with confidence.
He turned, and told her to follow, and she finally closed her mouth which had been agape in shock, and fell into step just behind him. After they had finally gained a little distance from the Girl and her Spook, her fibally opened up with the first salvo against her.
His criticisms weren't unfounded, and she knew that. Guiltily causing her ears atop her head fold back shamefully. Perhaps even appeasingly, though she knew such things would be of no avail.
But the retribution for her behavior would not arrive until Viridian? After she got clothes? Why? Perhaps he had some kind of working sort of punishment in mind? One which wearing a Kimono wouldn't be conducive?
Speaking of which, the very same clothing was having havoc wreaked upon it by the tall, abrasive grasses. Even worse, the hem got caught on a particularly stubborn bit of bramble, and sent the little Fox tumbling to the ground only to get herself covered in bits of dry grass and dirt!
Great, just great. Jaden is actually REALLY mad at me, and now this. Just keeps getting better and better! This is what I get for not paying attention and getting distracted!
Grumbling a string of incoherent curses under her breadth, Vix stood back up. Dusted off what she could, and picked up hem of her Kimono and hurried after her trainer, vainly struggling to keep up with Jaden without making herself a burden more than she already had.
