Well, finally put up Nina's CS. Decided that since no one else wanted to make their character a Doctor Strange-esq hero, I'd make Nina a magic user of sorts, though her magic is incredibly limited.
Gosh, it took so long. XD She'll be introduced into the roleplay fairly soon, I think, but for now, feel free to read up on her.
Real Name: Marina Schmidt (changed to Nina Smith when she moved to America)
Superhero Alias: Mystic Magus
Gender: Female
Age: 31
Appearance:
Disclaimer: This image is not mine. I did not draw it.
Power Set: Nina is a magician who's source of power comes from the magical staff she possesses, which gives her the power to summon creatures called Will-O-Wisps, sometimes simply referred to as Wisps, which are beings made of quintessence and appear as little flying lights, which she summons from the crystal on her wand.
There are different types of Wisps, each a different colour:
- Yellow wisps, or Sprites, are the basic wisps, easiest to summon and control. They can't harm anyone, but Nina tends to use them to distract her enemies. She can also, if she gathers several Sprites and merges them together, can cause them to explode, creating a powerful flash that can momentarily blind her opponent.
- Blue wisps, or Radiants, are cool to the touch, and possess weak healing abilities that can heal minor injuries, and soothe the pain of more major ones. Each Radiant can only be used to heal or soothe a wound once, before fading. Radiants also feed of the natural life energy of those who cast them meaning that using their power too much can seriously weaken Nina.
- Green wisps, or Jacklanterns, are created from sunlight and can be used to accelerate the growth of plants and even heal withered ones. Like Radiants, each one can only be used once and feed directly from the caster's life energy.
- Red wisps, or Hinkypunks, are fuelled by the caster's rage and passion, and are boiling hot to touch. Because of this, they can used to attack an enemy, but will disintergrate upon touching their target. Afterwards, they dissolve. They feed off the caster's emotions, and using them too much can make Nina feel hollow and emotionally exhausted.
- White wisps, or Phantasms, are the most powerful of the wisps, but also the hardest to control. They can transform into any shape Nina desires, as long as she has piece or fragment of the object or person she wants to mimic. Trying to copy living or moving objects or creatures is more difficult than static ones, and they can quickly drain energy from Nina if she tries to hold them for too long. Sometimes, when mimicking a living creature, the Phantasm may gain a mind of its own and will start acting and transforming itself, with Nina unable to reel it in. However, the Phantasm will fade shortly after. While Nina can create multiples of any other types of wisp - though to many can drain her - she can only, at least at the moment, create and control one Phantasm at a time. Anything more is a great strain on her. Plus, she can't use or summon any other kind of wisps when she has a Phantasm active or for a long period of time after she has used a Phantasm.
Other Skills: - Has an in-depth knowledge of both mythology and philosophy. - Has a very good memory, able to remember and even specifically quote every book she's ever read. - Incredibly patient, especially with children. - Good at cooking. On special days, she will help prepare the food herself. - Has a basic knowledge of hand-to-hand combat, though she rarely uses, preferring to rely on her magic. - While she mostly uses the magic in her wand, she has also studied many books of magic, or Grimoires, and has a strong knowledge of other rites or magical rituals, though she had yet to practice these.
Weaknesses: - As mentioned before, using too many of any other kind of wisp besides Sprites can severely drain Nina's emotions and strength, causing her to become irritable or depressed and sometimes even blackout. Because of this, she has become quite frail and less energetic over time. It is hinted that, because of her using her magic, she may have also shortened her lifespan. - Her powers aren't very good for attacking, so she can only really act a support for other heroes. - If one knocks her out, her wisps are immediately destroyed as she can no longer focus on them. - Her powers come from her wand, which only responds to her. However, if she separated from it or it is destroyed, she'll be powerless.
Subject: The Vice Principal, though she also acts as a teacher for Magic Arts and the Basic Occult.
Personality: Nina has been described a little bit of an 'ice queen', as any emotion or words she expresses rarely come off as genuine. Her smiles rarely reach her eyes. Her tone, while can sometimes become very expressive when she is being dramatic, tend to fall into a bit of a monotone, and her rage seems cold and icy. She's not uncaring person, quite the contrary, and she feels incredibly love and care for all the students she had been put in charge of, and there are times where her students may even bring out a warm, motherly side to Nina's nature. However, Nina is painfully aware that the students are NOT her children, and she had to keep their relationship as that of a teacher to their students, and not a mother figure, as much as it upsets her to do so.
To her staff, she's a little more comfortable, yet also finds it easier to be professional. It's much easier to be so with adults and with children. Teachers are also probably much more used to her cold, angry side than the students are, as Nina displays amazing patience around children, constantly reminding herself that they are 'just children' and will learn and grow up. Adults, though, she can get incredibly frustrated with at times, especially if she ever finds them acting in an unprofessional manner in front of children.
As mentioned previously, when saving the day as a hero, introducing herself to new students or giving a lesson, she can occasionally become a little more dramatic, raising her voice, showing off with her Will-O-Wisps, and even being a little playful, trying to play up her persona as this powerful witch. It is unknown whether this is an act of sorts or if this is the real Nina showing her true colours. Either way, she often seems a little happier when she's doing this whole act. You may even get a genuine smile out of her if you play your cards right.
Cheol laughed again, this time though it was merely a little chuckle. "Right," he said with a nod. He then walked a little closer and began writing his name down his name on her cast, careful to avoid the Pokemon stickers. As he did, he continued talking. "Kanji is both Chinese and Japanese. Katakana and Hiragana are used for words for which there are no Kanji." Once he finished writing, his letters incredibly neat, he glanced at his work for a moment, frowning slightly before handing the pen back to Kitty.
"Though, fun fact, my first name is actually Korean," he explained. "And since the Japanese don't have a character for 'L', my name in Japanese reads more as 'Cheoru'." He chuckled again, rubbing the back of his head with one of his hands. "It's kind of weird, huh?"
Cheol blinked as Kitty started talking again, still having trouble keeping up with her, when she suddenly produced a pen, one of those big black markers.
“Want to sign my cast?” she asked. It was such an awkward thing that Cheol suddenly burst out laughing. In the last minutes, so many weird things had happened. He had woken up in a train surrounded by two monsters and many injured students, had been asked to escort a girl down to what looked like some kind of underground facility, and now a random stranger who had just told him she had the ability to teleport was asking him to sign her cast.
Once he had stopped laughing, Cheol carefully took the marker from Kitty. "Sure," he said, smiling at her. He suddenly felt a little more relaxed, though he wasn't entirely sure why. "As long as you don't mind me signing my name in Katakana, that is." He paused before quickly adding, just in case she didn't know what he meant, "Err, it's one of the Japanese alphabets."
Poor girl. Things are really going wrong for her today, huh? First she gets kidnapped, then she breaks her arm, and then there's a huge-ass giant monster that comes out of the ceiling… and now she can't even make a friend XD
If it's up to me? Go ahead! But it's not up to me, so do what you want. I mean… you're the GM =D
Well, she made friends with Alexis and Graham... kind of XD They're at least on friendly terms it seems.
