Zahavel (They/Them): An Orphan on the Path of Trials. They were raised by angel society rather than dragon society. Quillfeather, a good friend to the angels of New Nicaea, brought Zahavel to the Moonlit isles around the same time Skobeloff and his siblings left the Hatchery. This caused some of them, Skobeloff included, to see Zahavel as something of an adopted sibling. The Seers have foretold a prophecy that Zahavel will discover a dark secret of the Moons and uncover a shadowy, dragon conspiracy. Zahavel eagerly seeks to bring about this prophecy and Skobeloff helps them where he can.

Ooh, nice to see you using the dre/drem/dris pronouns for some of Skobeloff's siblings.

Fun fact: for those who don't know, the Epyllion books state that dragons not only don't have a biological sex, but they also don't have a gender, and use a custom pronoun for dragons. They didn't use she, he or they, they used 'dre'. However, when I started this roleplay, I was worried people might have trouble with the unique pronoun so I was just like "Yeah, dragons are still sexless, but they can use any pronouns they so please." However, the 'dre/drem/dris' pronouns still exist in this setting. In fact that was the pronoun all dragons used to use during the early days of dragon society, before dragons became more acquainted with other species. It's considered quite 'traditional' to use it. Considering Blanc and Confetti are an Academic and an Envoy respectively, it's actually kinda a neat touch for those two to use it.

But yeah, lore dumping aside, thank you Rush for giving me more interesting NPCs to reference in the future. It's always appreciated, and I always enjoy seeing what extra details you guys come up with for your characters.

I did consider that for a bit, but after some thinking, I came up with a different idea.

The Crow nodded along as Emily spoke, doing his best to understand to her conundrum... though admittedly, it was difficult. From his knowledge about humans, they were very serious about the whole concept of 'personal property'. If he took something from another animal, they would give chase and try to get it back, but once he was far enough away with his prize, there was nothing they could really do about it and would usually accept it. Crows were a little more tenacious, but even they sometime had to admit when something was a lost cause. Humans weren't like that. They were attached to their things, so much so they had all these rules about what belonged to who, and would go through great lengths to get their things back or at least get some sort of compensation.

The Crow supposed there was something admirable about that, though he got the sense that Emily might not be in the position to do much within the boundaries of human law.

So he suggested an alternative.

"Well, when people wrong me, I don't sit in distress," he said. "I'm angry, yes, but I use that anger. If someone has wronged you, you should do something to, how do you say, 'get even' with them." He nodded sagely. "Sometimes I tell other crows about it, and then we all band together to harass them." He gave another, more affirmative nod. "So who is this person? Me and the boys will go find them and show them what's what."

Jub added onto Brutrumukk's question. "Yeah, is there anyway to disable it?" he asked the macaw. "Or at least tell them we're not a threat? Like a secret password or something?" Even as he was speaking, he had taken out his arcane focus and was mentally running through the lists of spells he knew for one that could help them get out this situation in case the bird's answer was 'no'. An idea was forming inside him mind, but considering how drained he was, he wasn't whether it would actually help, and wanted the bird's insight before they did anything else.

In regards to Brutrumukk, a detail of his that hasn't come up is that his views on marriage are rather... odd.

For those of you unfamiliar with Ceremony, the spell's wedding feature grants the happy couple a +2 bonus to AC while they are within 30 feet of each other.

Basically, the way Brut sees it, marriage is just a way to temporarily turn a close comrade in arms into a second shield and that the best time to tie the knot is on the eve of a long and dangerous battle.

Initially, he thought Palasha and Candlefoot were getting married because the Witchlight Carnival was going to be traveling somewhere dangerous for its next stop. Now, he thinks they're getting married because of the danger posed by the hags.

He's going to be very confused if he ever finds out the real reason they want to get married.

...Also, if he ever has access to a holy spellcaster of one of the goblinoid gods while knowing that a tough fight is coming up, Brutrumukk may very well end up proposing to Jub.
