Athalia Academy: Season Two - Finding Bael

Carmen watched Lily as she gracefully flew up to her, clearly enjoying herself. She followed Lily as she ascended higher and, at her "dancing with the stars" comment, made a smile that said "if only you knew". "You should try it sometime," she said in an unusually soft voice. "It really is lovely." She, of course, knew full well that it wasn't that simple for someone not spawned from the stars, but maybe it would spark Lily's imagination.

Turning abruptly at a sudden (but timely) flash, Carmen looked down to see the normal-looking boy gone, replaced by what was unmistakably a phoenix. Her eyes followed him as he flew up to them, looking back over to Lily as she said, to both of them, "Looks like we won't have any darkness problems," she said with a chuckle. "Well, shall we?" she offered, looking over the island, which looked beautiful and full of undiscovered vistas from this height.

Carmen tilted her head at Matt. "'A' or 'the' doesn't matter to me. Phoenix, hm? Why would you be embarrassed about that?" she asked, seeing right through him (the blush helped too) with her piercing bird eyes. "It would seem that the feathered friends have flocked together," she remarked to both Lily and Matt, looking between the two. "The ground just gets so boring sometimes, you know?"

After a pause and listening to Lily and Matt's conversation, Carmen interjected. "Well, we're not going to just stand around on the ground forever, are we? Let's fly!" And with that, she swooped her huge wings and vaulted off the ground, arcing upwards gracefully before lazily circling the two still on the ground a fair bit below her, awaiting their arrival in the air.

Nah, vitamins are amazing. Vitamin C tablets are one of the greatest taste sensations ever. They're like...crunchy orange juice. Aka amazing.

Probably busy. DP is a music person. Expect them to be more busy than any other person you know. Just.. as a rule of thumb. Lol.Music and Music Edu. majors have the worst of it. Their schedules are so packed, you'd think they don't exist outside of classes and gigs and concerts and auditions and recitals and just... stuff. Lots of... stuff.

That, basically. We usually don't exist outside of all those things (plus rehearsals), except to eat and sleep. Now that the semester has started the only time I can really ever be on either here or the pad is evenings/nights, and that's assuming there are no performances, masterclasses, gigs, ad hoc rehearsals, or big homework assignments that night (yes, we still have to take academic classes on top of it all). Even weekends are usually pretty packed, even if "packed" means just getting off campus and eating somewhere to decompress. But even that's often not possible.

I'll try to get a Carmen post out tonight for you guys (Ebil and Rose), but I can't guarantee anything.

After making all the necessary preparations with the rest of Excalibur, including getting her flight lead's data and suiting up, she made her way to the hangar. The squadron's now dwindled numbers still sat menacingly in the hangar, the aircraft seemingly eager to take flight. There were only five of them now - Lioness' sleek Kfir, the pilot/WSO team Sandstorm's fearsome "Ghost of the Straits", Swift's snarling Jagauar, Musket's poised Tigershark, and Miyoshi's own beloved "Massao" Foxbat. Reaching the MiG-25PDX, she gave it two friendly slaps and smiled at the Japanese kanji on the tailfin as she climbed into the cockpit. Soon she and her aircraft were towed up and out to the launch deck, and the clamshell canopy split open almost majestically.

Miyoshi had done carrier launches before, but she never grew tired of them. It was one of the many things she loved about being a pilot. Her excitement mounted as the Foxbat was prepped for launch, and she eagerly watched the light. "Here we go, Massao," she said to her aircraft. "Time to do what you were made for." One exhilarated yell and catapult launch later, Miyoshi was in the skies quickly forming up with her flight lead. "Excalibur Two in the air. I have your wing, Lioness," she stated over the radio with a little grin.
