@Kuro Sounds good. Approved!

@Finetales Just a quick reminder you were approved as well in case you missed it.

I saw, thanks! This has been an absolutely crazy week (out of the country at the moment lol) so I haven't been able to check the Guild as much as usual. I'll put Himari in the Character tab and post IC when I can. :)
Finished my CS! Wrote a small novel for the bio, hence the delay lol.

Queen of Gold

Since the skirmish in the park, Kate had resumed her normal life. In the time since she had arrived on Earth, she had managed to acclimate to the culture more quickly than she expected, and her day to day life was mostly indistinguishable from a typical rich Middle Park East socialite woman. The only real clues that she was something else entirely were her occasional Khobalian turns of phrase, and her habit of finding street-level crime and taking care of it. And really, she didn't have to work to find crime here; it was so frequent that it seemed to follow her around, attracted like moths to a flame. If this was her new war to wage, Kate had to admit that it wasn't very exciting. She liked doing good of course, but she yearned for real combat. In the mean time, shopping was an excellent way to pass time and get what humans called "dopamine" flowing.

On one such day, she was walking in the fashion district when she overheard the crackle of a nearby police officer's radio. Something was going on at a superhero academy, which Kate didn't know existed until she heard it on the radio.

An academy? she thought, surprised. There are enough superheroes to have a whole academy, and I haven't seen a single one in the months I've been on this planet? What are they doing? Where have they been? Kate had to admit, she was surprised she hadn't run into more villains either. And she was very surprised that that chaos woman who was apparently in love with her hadn't come knocking either.

The cop's radio sounded urgent. It seemed they were under attack from a super of some sort. Multiple heroes already down, dragged into the ground...

"Wait." Kate stopped in her tracks. That sounded familiar. And more importantly, it sounded like a call to battle.

The only issue was, the cross streets that had just crackled out from the cop radio were not ones she was familiar with. So she did what anyone in Liberty City would do: she hailed a cab. She repeated the cross streets she had heard, and the driver sped off. Fortunately for Kate, it was late morning, traffic was light, and like all Liberty City cabbies, this one had a lead foot.

In an illegally short amount of time, her cab screeched to a halt at the cross streets Kate had requested, and after Kate handed the driver a generous cash tip, he sped off to find another fare. After a brief look around, Kate deduced that the academy in question was the building that looked like a police academy, said it was one on the side, and had some commotion going on right in front of the entrance. Still appearing to be a normal civilian with a chic outfit, no wings, no manifested weapons, no fire, and definitely no Khobalian battle armor, Kate walked closer to parking lot separating her from the entrance. She figured there would usually be guards at the entrance to the lot, but it seemed they were very much occupied. She walked closer and quickly noticed some very familiar ripples in the ground, close to the entrance. It seemed her suspicions were, unfortunately, confirmed.

To protect herself from being pulled into the ground again (something she very much did not enjoy the first time), Kate chose this moment to sprout her huge wings and shoot up into the air with an audible whoop. As she did so, she also manifested her Khodalian battle armor, which wrapped around her in seconds. A large, ornate, two-handed battle staff was soon to follow. Kate knew what the chaos woman was capable of, and she figured making a good first impression on the heroes wouldn't hurt either. She just hoped the heroes wouldn't think she was a villain like the news networks did after the park incident. Otherwise, things were about to get very messy.

For now, she had a task at hand. "Show yourself, chaos-bringer!" she bellowed.

@BunniesOfDoom
I'm intrigued!
Duhhhhhh obviously I'm in!

"Anyhow, speaking of missions and flying; it's about time I took some rest myself to get ready for the one coming up. Anything else you needed, Calico, or can I politely show you out?"

Yuna downed the last drops remaining in her bottle, added it to her little pile of consumed sustenance, and stood up. "That's all, boss," she said brightly. "I'll get out of your hair. Thanks for the beer!" she gave a casual salute, which was clearly focused on the beer part of her sentence, and then turned and opened the door behind her. "Catch ya later, boss!" she sang as she walked out the door and closed it behind her.

After depositing her trash in a nearby bin in the hallway, she pondered for a moment what to do. She still had a decent amount of time to fill before the briefing. She had lost count of how many cups of coffee she had had, but it was enough. Unfortunately, that also meant she wouldn't be able to nap. She decided that eating, her 4th or 5th favorite activity, was as good of a way as any, and so she headed back towards the mess hall.

When she arrived she saw more new faces that she recognized from the files as some of the other pilots. It would be good to meet some more of them, and also report her success in confirming town bar access to Ximena. Everyone seemed engrossed in conversation though, and Yuna herself was engrossed in the idea of lunch anyway, so she headed straight for the food line.

I'm obviously in!
I might be interested! Either as staff or an SCP.

"Well, I'm glad you and I are on the same page about that, at least. I'm sure it'll settle down eventually. People are probably just testing the limits, seeing how much they can get away with, or finding out what kind of ship I run. And I mean; everyone's followed orders when we're in the thick of it. That's the main thing at least. If that didn't happen, well; I'd be a lot less understanding."

Yuna noddeed her head in understanding. "Well, I suppose I'll find out for myself soon. Playing an impromptu level of Call of Duty on the ground here is one thing...doing what we actually do is another."

"I think it's part of the way of being a fighter pilot - hell, a combat pilot at all - to have some wild moments under your belt. I'm sure we'll get plenty of chances to swap stories too. Lord knows I'm looking to being able to hit a bar and decompress for a bit once we get a breather - and it's only been a couple of days...!"

Yuna leaned forward a bit when Scott mentioned hitting a bar. "Speaking of bars...are they still allowing us off base after the firefight last night? Jefe and I would hate to lose our bar privileges in Malta...we've only been to one bar in town so far! I got a list going of others I want to hit and everything."

"Ahh, well; I'll keep it in mind. You obviously know your stuff, and it seems a few others do as well. Peacenik sure knows what she's doing. And Jefe... well, I'm not sure if she knows how to fight on the ground, or is just compensating for that by using the biggest gun she can carry. Either way, as long as it's pointed at the hostiles".

"A little of column A, a little of column B, I suspect," Yuna answered, responding to Scott's swig with one of her own. Her bottle was near empty at this point.

"Heh, maybe next place we find ourselves, if we've got the space and the time we can set up a little training area and get some paintball or airsoft guns so we can all indulge in improving our ground tactics without getting seriously hurt. And set up a range as well, so we can practice with our actual guns. Maybe it'd be more popular than you think."

Yuna sighed and briefly closed her eyes, thinking about how much she'd enjoy some range time. She took another sip as Scott spoke and quickly replied. "You give me a proper range or an airsoft arena and you can bet I'll be spending any time I'm not working or drinking in there. Which, granted, is not too often," she said with a grin and a shrug.

"And yeah - while I'm... well, not 'comfortable', but I'd say 'competent' with fighting on the ground, there's definitely a reason I chose to be a fighter pilot...!"

Yuna nodded and raised her bottle in agreement. "Tell you what Heartbreak, I can't wait to see what you do in that ancient Intruder." She chuckled and shook her head. "I'm still not convinced all those stories are true, but I'd sure as hell like to find out."
