@Flamelord I mean, you could've had her chat up Marquis and help with the mission...

Marquis seemed busy talking with Endian and angsting over Stark.
I encourage any and all factions to attempt to 'advance' in terms of technology, and to develop counters to your opponent. Military science is often as a game of chess, but with many more players.

Well, I will do science if/when I can. As was just explained it's a bit hard against the Aviary, and there aren't really Tyranid available to experiment on at the moment (since the ones from the previous battle received several doses of nuclear weapons) That sort of thing tends to skew your test results a bit.
Tatiana Lorenz

Tatiana looked around as everyone began to exit the throne room, huffing in annoyance as her cheeks puffed out momentarily. What, was she nothing to these people? It was perhaps understandable in the grand scheme of ranks and hierarchy and the like, but it was still slightly aggravating. At the very least they could recognize her existence, rather than pretending that she was just empty air.

"Fine, I guess you don't need my help after all," she grumbled as she turned to watch them all walk out the door, apparently more fixated on Endian at the moment. She had no idea why, when it wasn't like the robot hadn't fallen from grace if the rumor mill was any indication. Not to put too fine a point in it, but she wouldn't be comfortable relying on her for anything important.

But that was fine. If they didn't want her help, then she was under no obligation to give it. Thrusters activated once again as she rose off her feet to hover into the air. Turning, she quickly focused before rocketing off once again to return to the city proper. She could think up something to do, that was no problem. For now, she planned to relax and do a bit of flying. That would definitely get her mind off of things after she wasted so much time racing here in the first place.

Tartys

Having posed her question, Tartys was not surprised to see Omega quickly turning to the problem of actually finding out where it was they needed to go, and planning out the rescue operation for Miyu. It wasn't like this sort of thing was unheard of, but it was definitely going to be difficult. Especially in a demonic stronghold. At that point Omega headed off, intent on finding someone who could help them out with this particular dilemma, since there had to be someone who could, with all the resources of Heaven available.

But Tartys wouldn't be able to come with. She had been prepared to follow, only to find her arm caught in the grip of the Dwarven Commander from the last battle, Dora not hiving specifics but indicating that she had plans for her. And if it involved the dwarf, those plans probably involved a lot of drinking, and more boisterous atmosphere than Tartys herself was used to. But she didn't get a say in the matter as Dora started to drag her away.

"Slow down Dora," she called, doing her best to keep up as the dwarf dragged her along. "There's no need to be in a hurry." It wasn't like the next battle was going to be any time soon.

@Lucius Cypher
So, who wants to place bets on which character gets captured by the Demons in the next battle? They have a streak to continue after all.
Alex thought he had done well so far, managing to avoid the guards closing in while they were distracted chasing after the twins and Tori. Unfortunate that the latter had gotten wrapped up in all of this, but with how she had treated him over the duration of the trip he didn't feel too bad about it. Besides she'd be fine, probably. Well, assuming she didn't phase out of existence like a ghost again as she had done previously.

Yet as he ran he found himself distracted, the Relic he had managed to bring along shaking and seemingly determined to leap out of his pocket, as if the thing itself was angry with his decision. A quick glance showed that it was flashing back in the direction of the Cathedral, but even so he wasn't about to listen to a rock. If it didn't like it then it should have gone with Tori while it had the chance.

"Geez," he grumbled, glancing down at the Relic that he held at the same time. "Apologies for not heading in towards the place where apparently every soldier in the Imperium is heading." Sure, he was a daring thief and what have you, but that didn't mean he was a full on idiot. the only way he was going to get anything out of that adventure back at the temple was if he managed to get away and not be arrested. And so far he seemed to be doing a pretty good job at that.

His muscles worked as he finally let out the energy, exulting in the adrenaline rush of his flight for safety. He didn't know what was up with his Relic, but he was not going to let it stop him from doing what he wanted. "Should save myself the trouble and just drop you off in a thrift shop somewhere." Not that he would do that, even if it was very tempting. One way or another, he wanted to get something out of this.
Yeah, Lucius is just gonna handle Endian for the foreseeable future. He'll be able to handle her better than I could, after I got distracted by the visions of the cool things she could do only to be distracted by my own ineptitude. And now I just can't find this mindset that you guys seem to have of her being an interesting character anymore.

Oh well, we'll see if Tatiana works out I guess
@Flamelord Treat the mooks as your attacks instead of as NPCs you have to spend an action ordering. Pretend that they're Victoire's wolves/bats only instead of summoned out of her ass, you bring your toys with you.

......

Just more evidence that I shouldn't be the one in charge. It never even crossed my mind that I could do that, even when other characters were doing it.
@Flamelord I think that miscommunication was the primary problem. You wanted to be a commander, and everyone else was treating minions as attacks at best, nothing at worst. However, if you were personally leading a squad, that would be a compromise between your vision of a commander, and the otherwise hero-centric design of the thread.

However, if switching charries is what you wanna do, best of luck!

The problem is that while she could lead around some NPCs, it wouldn't really benefit the Machina that much. With a cap on the amount of actions one can take in a post, controlling a squad of NPCs basically halves the amount of things Endian can do in a single post for negligible benefit, since NPCs are still mooks to be wiped out with ease.
@Flamelord Maybe upgrade her and give her some direct weapons? Or combat drones? She could be a fun fighter on the front lines commanding swarms of combat drones.

This would be useful, if Endian got to fight anyone ever. At this point for all my desires out of character she has been misapplied and useless in pretty much every engagement. Especially for the claim of being a commander. At least with Tatiana I can satisfy myself shooting things.
@Mega Birb While I appreciate it, I'm pushing Endian to the backseat, at least for this battle, probably permanently. Apologies.
