I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

I figured 2553 was end of war. As for Nov 17th of '52, that's the claimed date of when John 117 fell back to Earth according to the same wiki that said Mombasa happened in October.
Made an edit.

At first it sounded like the Stalwart-class was a small, insignificant enough ship to be on.. too bad the only one ever named was UNSC In Amber Light.

The M319 is actually said stand-alone unless you mean the multi-shot version, although the attachment version is known as the M301 and didn't see much of any use outside Halo: Wars.

Besides, that added heft to the standard-barreled BR55 improves aim.
Prelim:

Name: Dorian Pella
Rank: Specialist 1st class
Specialization: Grenadier

Personal psych report: Totally not claustrophobic, a bit 'free-spirited', will continue sending on raids and monitor progress.

Career history:
2525 - Born on Madrigal Colony
2528 - Madrigal is glassed
2535 - Battle of the Rubble. 23 Librea
2536 - UNSC JROTC (Punitive measure)
2542 - Transferred to UNSCDF
2543 - Transferred to ODST
2544 - Training complete in ODST as grenadier, minored in sabotage
2545 - Failed Rescue mission of Draco III, sent back for re-evaluation aboard UNSC Chares
2546 - Battle of Sargasso, demoted and transferred
2547 - Battle of Skopje, re-evaluated again, screened for Boren's disease (tested negative).
2549 - Arcadia falls, promoted to specialist
2552 - Battle of Mare Erythraeum, Mars

Weapons: BR55 SR with under-slung M319 grenade-launcher (<--- Lots of EB Green was used); M7S SMG, two M9 grenades, 1 can of C-7 explosive-foam.

Note: BR85HB SR was a Halo 4 weapon.
Standard-kit* plus one special (DMR, sniper-rifle, rocket-launcher, shotgun) I presume?
*M7S, MA-5C*, two frags, one medkit.

I'd also like to have each player paired-off with another in an organized (and rational) fireteam when they start to regroup.
-So not everyone is going to be running with a sniper-rifle and shotgun.

Only problem is I don't know any of you, or how well you take to 'tactical' or 'speed, stealth, surprise', which may be a problem when it comes to chain of command.
Surprised this thread hasn't been started here yet.

Over last weekend, the successor-craft to Virgin-Galatic's SpaceshipOne crashed during a powered test roughly 15 seconds after release while traveling at a velocity of approximately mach 1.02, resulting in the loss of the co-pilot. The pilot managed to bail-out safely and has been both reported to be alert and talkative, and in critical condition; depending on the news-source.

NTSB has largely ruled-out explosion, and it is being suggested that the plane ripped itself apart when the air-brakes/feathers deployed while accelerating through mach 1 to mach 1.4, potentially causing them to catastrophically shear-off. However this is speculation based on the perceived fact that the booms deployed early after only being 'unlocked' for less than two seconds, and were the first parts to detach from the ship.

This was however, not the ship's first test-flight (this was its 55th), nor was it the first powered test-flight (4th).

I will be monitoring the situation in hopes that the pilot and feathering system, like the propulsion system, are vindicated in some way.
-And although it wasn't in space when the pilot bailed-out, I'm sure bailing out from a disintegrating spacecraft and living to tell about it is a first.

Thoughts on the situation?
Only problem with sustain was that a marine-deployment still looks quite a bit like an ICBM-launch.

And is rather ironic that spaceship one crashed, killing its pilot this Friday (copilot survived).
Just so you know, I know someone who's sort of craving a drow/high-elf RP.

A controlled world is only safe for those who are still deemed fit to live by those with power over the masses.

Who watches the watchmen; indeed.

In a free world, the strength of the masses is held paramount to ensuring the safety of the whole against mass-tyranny. If you look towards your fellow man with caution and suspicion simply because you woke up to a scary-looking thunderstorm of violence, that is your own problem.
-I suggest you learn to deal with it, rather than seek to destroy it.

What happens when you elect a leader who views YOU as suspicious? Would you be in favor of being swatted out of the blue and then 'indefinitely detained' in an unmarked grave by the highway? Since you are suggesting the implementation of 'street judges' by your angle.

So, are we talking about crime prevention, or crime and punishment?
-As we have proven punishment is hardly a prevention.

Vol 2 is "I told you this story so I can tell you the next one without you feeling like we cheated a plothole"

Also, had to include characters the public demanded.

Likely some sort of unnoticed background event that will be relevant by Vol 4 or 8.
-Especially the parts we don't understand to such an extent we aren't even discussing it for fear of plot-blocking the show.

What we do have, is more of Yang's past, and how she's acting as a guide/mentor for Blake.
-Even Weiss is helping look after her well-being. Weiss.

At times I'm not sure Ruby even realizes she's leading them. Or rather, how to lead. Or is she avoiding responsibility?
