I do agree with Yandere's sentiment that words not wording workingly do be a problem this time of year.

Scratch that, place your bets on polymarket.

Looks like I'll be working on memorial day weekend. And no, this does not mean place any bets on polymarket.

due to a typo on my part I was nearly convinced I owed the IRS nearly $3000 in excess taxes this year.

-There will be delays in replies. Largely due to working overtime, voluntary obligations; other RPs and online-things may compete for my attention.

'Bout me:
Started RPing (badly) back in '05, mostly doing nation-RPs with an emphasis on technology and strategy, later edging out to character-espionage and military-tactics before doing "less serious" character roleplays that were outside of the 2005-2008 continuity.

That's when I went to Dead-Frontier, and found the RP community there, joined a clan, did some pretty good roleplays and pretty much loosened-up my online-personality. When the clan-leader decided to move her RPs here, most of the clan followed.

Took a course in technical-writing back in '08, so now I may sometimes use the semicolon correctly.

In 2010 I dusted off the old nation-RP continuity I had, doing a few hetelia-esque RP-shenanigans there..

RP-Habbits: I tend to geek-out on little technical-details, and sometimes infer how those details would impact the background of the roleplay. Great for world-building, not so great when you had a perfectly good plotline and I just MacGyver it off the rails (though I usually er to the side of amusement, sometimes it creates very grim side-stories).

Who remembers last time we rolled into Fort Carson looking for free-handouts? I'm pretty sure that's how we lost Dmitry...

Shelton, you may need to come and talk us out of our crazy plan.
PMs work now.
Oh, why hello there, smooth operator.

No glorious Mosin for you.

<--- Has finally gotten the hang of using strippers, and how to shove four to a pouch.
Better use of a magazine: Millwall-brick of death.
*USBR only requires on-site staff-vehicles of public recreation-areas to have such things. Because in 'merricuh, it's just a roof with tables under it (I have yet to see a first-aid kit or working phone in one, and I'm in Wisconsin). I'd wager that it's worse in Colorado and South Dakota.

Sifter said Looking at Wayne, Yuri began naming off most things he could think in a moment:

"Uhh, Medical supplies. First aid kits must be in those by law*. Hopefully some tools that could be used. Maybe duck tape, probably an magazine hid somewhere. I noticed that "those things" bite other people before they turn into them, so, maybe if you tied the magazine around your forehand you could stuff it inside their mouth to avoid getting bitten. Have you ever tried biting thought a magazine?
что еще?

Maybe the cleaning supplies themselves could be used somehow..."

Yuri asked for Wayne's name and offered a handshake.

"As I mentioned, my name is Yuri. I heard hers, but not yours."

"First, only required for mass-gatherings; second, even then those are only stocked by volunteer-organizations; that's why the department of transportation stresses so strongly why every motorist should have a first-aid kit in their car... ALWAYS. And lastly..." He finished by pointing at a wall where emergency-supplies were usually kept, "those are obviously already looted."

"Anyways, my name is Wayne, Wayne Anderson. I'll see if I can find you something a bit more useful at stopping one of those things than a sullied morning-paper."
RP start
Main setting (Colorado; Colorado Springs IIRC): Roadblock

gets overrun

Tom gets into a multi-car pileup trying to get around it (running over an officer in process) stabs a guy
Ferra's car get overrun, her aunt has to be left behind

Pretty much everyone moves forwards out of town with a few exceptions:
1. Wayne, was heading into town, but was turned away by roadblock, and so has working truck.
2. Denny and Charlie, were further behind, turned back into city and hotwired a car together.

Everybody else walked/ran to a rest-station with varying degrees of success and detours, Wayne stops-by too and gets caught-up with the idea of being a decent human being today.

That's pretty much it.

BTW:
A rest-stop has maps, glorious highly-detailed maps

Edit to make sure post posts.
No sooner had Wayne shook Serena's hand had she dropped a bombshell of bad news, followed by an even older person sneaking-up from behind confirming his suspicioun that she was actually trying to break it to him gently... or at least more gently than this new old fellow.

"Nah. This is an unattended rest-stop. All cleaning supplies are kept with the cleaning-staff." He stated matter-o-factly. Being previously of said 'cleaning staff' ensured he knew this. "Imagine how much your taxes would have skyrocketed if a closet full of tools and cleaning supplies was left in a tiny room protected by a cardboard door with the cheapest lock ever invented at every run-down rest-stop, ever."

After a brief pause, he raised an eyebrow at the man: "What sort of supplies were you hoping to find, anyways?"
Up ahead was a rest-stop, a place with power to charge his cell-phone or at least a landline from where he could call home and see if his family was safe for now. He pulled his truck up beside it and hopped-out, barely registering that several others were already desperately huddling there for shelter. A light-haired woman with some sort of drifter he was pretty sure he'd seen stab a man through the skull earlier, and two little girls that looked like sisters.

After getting no signal on the cell-phone, and a busy-signal on the office-phone in back, he finally noticed he had the only working vehicle at this stop.

As much as he wanted to save his family, they were likely dead, and going into town for them would just get himself killed as well. These people were alive, but had no means of escape.

He decided to start with the oldest-looking people and work his way down the ages, starting with the woman:

"Um, hello? My name is Anderson. Wayne Wilson Anderson. Are you waiting for someone?"

((Note: Wayne was trying to get *into* town despite quarantine, so he was caught on the other side of the roadblock))

Dunno, but without Sarafene there's really no point in me RPing him and Minori hopping on a bus and taking a bunch of the weapons we've collected over the previous four chapters with them.

If they *do* return to the story, then it'll involve them keeping a bunch of zombie-fetus pets and/or making a twisted spectacle of the zombie-apacolypse a-la Zombieland.

Anyhoo... The theme of this entire RP. Rule 34 sez there's probably a music-video of TWD with that song.
-Meh, goes pretty good if you mute this video to it

They may return.
Sarefene, honey, just so you know, the cooltext isn't working anymore for Sarene and Alysia.
