She's a pirate. She doesn't follow the rules. Or she could just have signed up because they have some sort of artifact that she wants.

@Framing A Moose there are only two ways to begin this. Either as a singles mingle or as designated partners. When your character signed up for the program she admitted that she was looking for a relationship. That's the whole point of the experiment.

My character can't see the other characters' sexuality though. That's just so we know, not them.
