I can’t be if the chain of events that lead to this pain you both feel, starts with me. It’s not deserved, and it definitely isn’t right. The end of a “hero’s” job is met with cheers, smiles, and celebration. But everything was quiet when it was all over. The silence was so loud that my ears felt like they were bleeding. And people continue to hurt because of it. Violet, you, Mom, Dad, Melody, X… Countless families. If I was a real hero, it’d be me instead of any of you.
