"It is hard, Viral! I've got no idea what plant here is going to be like that," Yumi pouted, wiggling the sharpened stone imbedded in her spear shaft, "It's not building a weapon that's the hard part, it's knowing what to use on an alien world." A perfectly legitimate gripe in her mind, they weren't familiar with the fauna here. Nor were they even certain something like a spear was bound to work. She could be going through all this trouble only to find out a spear was completely useless against most animals on Kaesstra. Trial and error, that was the name of the game. It was a bit difficult to accept that when your stomach was already grumbling at the prospect of a nice big meal before you. "I know that, something to bind it together." Hm, there was some tall grass here and there, maybe that would work? If she layered it enough Yumi was hopeful it would be strong enough to hold the rock in place. Or there were tall, thin bladed plants lying around under some of the trees, but she was pretty certain she could see thistles on those, which would make them very not fun to handle. Finding the next sizable clumping of tall-blade grass she hurried over and knelt before a tree, beginning to pull up the longest bits she could find. "If this doesn't work... I can always use my sleeves again, if the grass doesn't work," Yumi said, grinning teasingly at Viral, "Unless you'd rather me not do that."

Their money was foreign to the Kaesstrians, he would give Kai that much, but it was still precious metal. So maybe these people wouldn't recognize the exact value of their money but at the very least Kabocha figured they would appreciate it for what it was. What a bother it would be having to exchange it too, there was no way of knowing how much their money was worth and vice versa. It would be so much easier if everyone just took the same kind of money, which most planets under the Saiyan rule did. That was probably the only good thing about the King's manic empire building, convenience. "You say that like we can't hunt or something, Kai!" he retorted, glancing back with a smirk, "The three of us could out-hunt them in a heartbeat." What was Choi yelling about now? He'd nearly missed it, but the words registered when Kabocha looked ahead again and saw buildings beginning to peek up over the canopies. Yep, looked the same as before save for the big tree which looked even bigger now. Or maybe he'd just not really noticed it before, hard to say. It was a bit exciting admittedly to be coming back after all of this, he wanted to see how things had turned out after their slightly sloppy coup d'etat. "Of course it doesn't seem all that long ago, that's because it wasn't."

Keeping pace with Shu was exhausting, to say the least. No matter how quickly Takeshi got himself moving he couldn't manage to stay alongside his little brother, let alone overtake him. While he did want to win their impromptu race he was having a lot of fun running along in the trees as well, so he didn't mind as much as he might otherwise. Besides, gradually getting a hold on it meant he could do more intricate tricks, like diving between the branches whilst stretched out. It was almost a bad move as he nearly hit his head on the upper branch, but after clearing them by a margin he grabbed onto the next and swung back up, righting himself with a laugh. In the moment the older boy was inclined to agree with Shu, they really should have some kind of forest inside of the ship. Never mind the logistics of getting one inside and maintaining it, Takeshi thought it would be a neat idea. Grinning broadly at his sibling he took off again when Shu did, simply jumping to the next tree as he did so. "Yeah, why not! It's something for Vegeta to do, which he'll love, and it'll help all of us to have something like that, you know? I'm sure the guy can figure out how to set it up." Practicality notwithstanding it would just be really cool to see some woods inside of a ship like theirs too, a first of its kind for sure.

Haku felt plenty awkward enough trying to talk to T'charrl, full well knowing they got off on the worst foot possible. At least he was making an effort here instead of just sulking like he usually did. It was almost painful in a way to see how uncomfortable the Kaesstrian was to talk with him, but he understood why it was. He'd be pretty wary over someone who tried to kill him too, perfectly good reason and all. Maybe a bit of small talk would help break the ice and things would go from there, or he could totally get shut down and ignored. "Heh... Really...? The forests are kind of awesome," the Saiyan remarked, smiling slightly as he looked around them, "The whole planet is..." And to think they were going to get to look around to their heart's content. It was his first time that he was going to get to actually explore an alien world as opposed to razing it to the ground, so yeah, he was a bit excited. Even if everyone around him didn't fully accept him he could still enjoy where they were all the same.

It was abundantly clear the very second Vegeta set down in one of the streets that he'd broken his own rule on discretion. A Saiyan flying in from the woods would naturally draw attention, he'd done just that as opposed to walking in. To be fair though once he was in view of the public it would be nigh impossible to remain discreet anyways given he wasn't a native to this world. Having heads turn would only be a natural reaction to his presence, and an unavoidable one. All of this attention wasn't an issue, but Vegeta did have some ways to walk before he reached Katas' place of work. Provided the Kaesstrian was even still there after the General was usurped of his seat of power he would have to get inside to even speak with the man. Worst case scenario, if Katas was not there, he would need to find some means of tracking down the Kaesstrian in question. Shame he didn't know many other of their people from the city as otherwise it might have been an easy task. He did notice something as he walked along though, something which brought a faint smile to his face. As opposed to only the lightly colored, extravagantly dressed Kaesstrians filling the city he now saw more of the darker, down-to-earth toned Kaesstrians as well, T'charrl's people. So they had begun interacting with one another, and peacefully at that. That was promising, it was good to know their efforts hadn't resulted in even further fighting.
Hm... A nice flat, sharp stone. There had to be something like that around here, and if not she could easily break one to suit her needs. It was finding some kind of fiber to bind it all together that was going to prove to be the really tricky part. Maybe she could see if any of the trees were fibrous enough, pull back some bark and see what they looked like underneath. Or some small plants should do the trick, something flexible. "I know Viral, but I don't even know what plants to look for here. It's not Earth, we don't know what any of these are really," Yumi said, giving her stick a careful look over, "I could just make this really pointy and leave it at that, but that's no fun!" Now where was a rock when you needed it? There were loads of smooth ones, especially by a small stream they had crossed, but nothing remotely sharp. She'd probably need to make one herself then, no big deal. The next smooth rock she found she scooped it up and showed it to Viral, smiling knowingly before making a detour towards a larger rock off to the side. "That's two out of three down, still need that string though..." Taking a second to look at the rock in hand she began striking its sides along the small boulder, slowly chipping away the edges with each hit. Using Ki to simply cut away at the rock would be leagues easier but it might also somehow anger Viral, best not to do that. With a series of strikes Yumi had what resembled a slightly jagged but perfectly workable spearhead. Using the rock she'd fashioned she cut away a small nick in the edge of the branch, resting the rock in it soundly. "Tah-dah, one spear! Almost."

Kabocha shrugged his shoulders, not particularly bothered by the sibling comment. Sure he had no siblings but that meant he got everything he wanted. That and he got better individual training than the twins did, so that was a plus. The only thing they had going for them was their teamwork, something that the Princes couldn't even match still. Probably part of that twin-telepathy stuff Choi had brought up before. Weird, he couldn't imagine someone being in his mind, nor would he want them too, it could be a pretty shady place. "Alright, we'll try exchanging the money for some Kaesstrian coin if that makes you happy," Kabocha said reluctantly, exasperated with Kai, "Sheesh, it's not like it's the end of the world if we can't buy things. Just means we need to go and hunt, which isn't exactly hard." That might even be preferable, all things considered. They would at least know then what they were eating. Whatever they bought may not taste all that good, or when they found out what it was it may be a bit off putting. Far as Kabocha could recall these people weren't huge on meat either so the selection likely left a lot to be desired. Worst case scenario he could always by some souvenirs, gods know why though.

Takeshi was having fun, a lot more than he'd thought he would have. Maybe he needed this break as well, it was nice to be able to goof off without the sense of something hanging over your head. Well there were the tree canopies, but that was different. His tree-to-tree leaping wasn't nearly as graceful as Shu's was, he stumbled a fair bit and had to take shortcuts but it was working out, and he was enjoying it. They really didn't do enough of this kind of stuff anymore, everything was so rigid and focused on the war as of late. Landing squarely on a thick branch he took a brief moment to check on the others, smirking T'charrl and Haku a fair bit behind them. So they weren't nearly as fast, with the Kaesstrian having to run and the other Saiyan being less than graceful. Couldn't blame him, goodness knows Takeshi was awkward as anything on his first attempt. Crouching down and placing his hands on the branch he launched himself forward, laughing as he went between two branches and grabbed onto one beyond them, swinging around and flipping up into the air. Again he managed to find some easy footing on a branch, the limb bending as he landed before he jumped off again. "Tell Vegeta! Maybe we can get some on there!" Takeshi said with a laugh, jumping to get closer to Shu, "I bet it'd work!"

Those two made this look so easy it was ridiculous, Haku could hardly keep himself up. He almost felt embarrassed when trying to do this alongside the Princes, there was no way he could do what they did and he knew it. It might be true practice makes perfect but at the moment he was finding it hard to want to keep trying. It didn't help either when Takeshi launched himself forward and made it look simple, he couldn't do that unless he wanted to smack into a tree or something. Glancing down at T'charrl and seeing the Kaesstrian running along he figured he might as well do that instead, running was something he could do just fine. Bounding off of the next branch he used his Ki to push himself down, landing a bit behind the alien before breaking off into a run, keeping just behind him. Even if he couldn't swing in the trees and felt a bit lame for it Haku couldn't say he wasn't enjoying himself. This was all new to him, the world, running about, laughing with people, and he really liked it. They didn't like him being here and he knew it but he could still enjoy things on his own. Glancing over at T'charrl he smiled faintly, his eyes shifting to the ground as he ran along. "Your planet is... Really nice..." Haku mumbled, coughing awkwardly, "Much nicer than Kortal... I like it."

Hm, was it wrong to call what he was doing work when it was promising to be so fun? Vegeta was technically going into the city for a progress update from Katas and to look into other matters, so it was all business, but he was a bit giddy to do it. What had the Kaesstrians done in his absence, he wondered. They showed promise, and goodness knows they had some impressive technology given their world's overall status. Their medical facilities were good enough to work on Viral and that led him to believe their other technology must be comparable, if not better. He knew their inter-city communications were good, complete with holograms and impressive data transfer, and they actually had a fairly robust electrical grid set up for the city as well. Supposedly the other major cities of Kaesstra were just as good if not more-so, it was like being in a candy shop, having the chance to experience all of it. Looking into other cities would have to wait though, that would mean traveling and it was a bit hard to do that with so many people.
Yumi smiled playfully at Viral before continuing on, not wanting to further agitate him right now. She was only poking a bit of fun at him, nothing serious. She knew how to hunt at a very basic level right now, fashion weapons and lay traps, she'd done all of that before. Her idea of their going hunting though was doing it more like animals, utilizing their senses and hunting by hand. The Beastman wasn't going to be crazy about that idea, though, she could already tell. Otherwise he'd not have bothered bringing up weapons in the first place. Realistically she could have everything she needed within moments, sans perhaps for something to fasten the sharpened rock to the stick. Some kind of fibrous plant, which would be easy if they were on Earth. Here on Kaesstra she hadn't a clue what sort of plant would suit her needs. "That would be much easier if we were back on our planet, you know that," Yumi retorted, frowning as she began glancing around for components to her weapon, "We have no idea what half of these plants are like, or how well they'll work. I should have though to ask T'charrl earlier..." Trial and error then, she'd find a winning combination sooner or later. Aha, and there was the first piece she would need too, a nice solid looking branch fallen from a tree! Beaming she jumped over to where it laid and snatched it up, giving it a careful inspection as she turned it over in her hands. Breaking off a few smaller limbs she used the branch to give a tree a solid whack, satisfied when it held together. Now for a sharp rock and some string!

"We're from the same society, Kai! Just different parts!" Kabocha retorted, smirking as he began to move into the air, "Don't get sore at me because I drew a lucky straw. I guess none of that matters now that we're on the run though, huh? We're equals as far as anyone else is concerned." There was a faint hint of bitterness in his tone, but he tried his damnedest not to let it show as he turned and took off, ready to get to the city. His money had to work, no one else had any sort of coinage on them and they certainly wouldn't get anything for free. Maybe he was being a bit cynical, but it was unlikely these people would give them free food for something they had done well over a month ago. It would be a nice gesture, and sure as hell more convenient but unlikely. Feeling two powers coming up behind him Kabocha glanced back, making a rude gesture to Kai out of frustration, "They'll take my money Kai, just you wait! And maybe I won't even pay for your food for being such a skeptic!" Hmph, that would show him. Even Choi was keeping his mouth shut for a change so couldn't his twin just do the same? If they had to find another means of paying for food then he wasn't sure whatsoever what they were going to do.

Shu was more than handily going to win whatever little race they might have, Takeshi knew that. Still he couldn't help but turn it into a competition, it just made things all the more exciting. Grinning as he came alongside his brother the older boy prodded Shu in the side before taking off, swinging and leaping (mostly) from tree to tree. No one was probably all that surprised when the little guy quickly caught up and passed him, making the whole swinging thing look terribly easy. Even when doing something that required a fair bit of focus Shu still found time to be a chatterbox, talking and squeaking away like a monkey with too much sugar in its system. Takeshi found himself smiling widely at his sibling's antics, it really was impossible not to play along when he was like this. "Outdoors isn't a door, knucklehead!" he called ahead, laughing as he flipped off of a branch and onto another, "Being outside is kind of awesome though!" It really had been much too long since they had done this. Even on Earth they hadn't played a whole lot, spending most of their time inside of the city. Takeshi missed this stuff, it really was more fun than he gave it credit for, they ought to do it more. If he missed it as much as he did then Shu must have been really itching for some time outside.

Haku was beginning to see how the others could have fun doing something like this. Sure it was awkward, terribly so. He couldn't swing even as well as Takeshi let alone Shu, his balance was arguably crap by comparison and he kept jumping too fast and near overshooting most of his jumps. That being said it was actually enjoyable, he never did something like this before. There was never time to do something simply for the sake of doing it, it was always one job or another or some mission, that was it. Free time was basically non-existent, the most he'd ever had up until now was when he was left behind on Earth. Now he found himself with all the time in the world to do as he pleased, when he pleased, and at the current that meant giving Shu's little game a try. If he weren't so busy gasping and floundering for some solid footing he might even be laughing right now, he did crack a smile now and again. Slow as he was it was perhaps a good thing for him T'charrl opted to try running in that new form of his, both of them were much slower than the Princes who were racing on ahead. So maybe he'd been a bit quick to say this was a stupid idea, now he actually wanted to see what was next on the agenda.
Just a simple 'no' answer and these two would leave. People always did when he said that, even if it also resulted in him being teased. No one bothered to put effort into recruiting a tank who wasn't overly-enthusiastic about grouping up, most people saw it as a moot effort. The otter saw it fit to question his refusal, making Kosuke worry he might have to tell them no again. Once was bad enough, he was going to sound like a real jerk if he had to keep refusing. Then Aiko decided to step up again, and this time she didn't look nearly as sweet or friendly as she had before. In fact she looked kind of pissed, making the samurai sweat as he recoiled a bit from her. "I-it's not that you d-don't look strong, honest!" he stammered, shaking his head and closing his eyes. She went on and on, this was the worst. Passing insults were easy to brush off, but when someone stood there and berated you that's when it got really tough. Kosuke couldn't do much besides freeze up under the scrutiny, just taking the verbal attack as Aiko shared what was on her mind. She wasn't wrong, he was an embarrassment of a samurai, he should be out there protecting people and fighting. He just couldn't, he wasn't up for the whole group prospect, not anymore. How else could he outright say he didn't work well in groups, what part of that didn't these two understand?

Again Aiko saw it fit to pick apart his entire argument for not joining them. Looking up at the assassin timidly he recoiled again as she continued, closing one eye and lifting up his shoulders. Everything she was saying was spot on and he hated it, he really did have no good reasons for avoiding joining other players. He never had luck with groups outside of the game and he had that sort of mentality even while inside Elder Tales. Maybe he should be seeing it more as the game he played for hours on end rather than like being in a class, or out in a sporting event. He didn't enjoy being lonely or a solo player all the time, he'd join people if it were easy for him, but it wasn't. Jeez... Why did she have to bring up his title? It was a unique one at that, and one not really befitting a person of his demeanor. Looking down at the ground he sighed softly, balling his hands into fists in his lap. "I... Beat a dungeon for it... And I g-got a rare weapon... That's how I got my t-title..." he explained, lifting his eyes again, "I d-don't let people walk all over me! I just..." How was he going to put this? Sighing yet again Kosuke turned his head and looked away, really hating having to explain himself like this. "I don't do groups... Like I said..."

Why was Aiko so dead set on him being a part of their team? No one had ever gone to such lengths to recruit him before, he didn't think anyone would want to. All he was for other players was a target, someone to berate and get a laugh at. Plenty of people had tried asking him but that always devolved into torment in some shape or form, so why were these two being different? He figured they were decently strong, Aiko was even a higher level than he was, so they would know what they were doing. And it was true, they needed a tank. Largoes' unusual build wouldn't let him tank properly, not unless he was fine with being killed in a matter of seconds. So they really did need him... What should he say? If he refused again then they would likely leave, never bother coming for him again. While it would be nice to return to his comfortable silence there was a nagging voice in his head to take the chance. He'd spent the entirety of the game thus far either within Akihabara or as close to the walls as you could, that wasn't living. And even someone as meek as he was grew tired of living like a rat after so long, he needed a change sooner or later. He wanted to accept, that was the decision Kosuke had arrived at. Getting it out however was proving to be a bit of a struggle.

After mouthing the words soundlessly a few times, Kosuke swallowed back hard and abruptly got to his feet, being only just taller than Aiko at full height. "F-Fine! I-'ll accept!" he said hastily, bowing as he spoke. Again his eyes where squeezed shut and his arms at his side, much too rigid for any relaxed conversation. "I-I'll be your tank, for a little while. But d-don't expect me to stay forever!" Maybe after this he could find some way to make a living that didn't involve working with others as much. Some subclasses ought to afford him the solitary he wanted, maybe something like a scribe, or an alchemist. Even to him they didn't sound exceptionally fun but they might be his only shot at not being bothered by people constantly. After a moment of being bowed Kosuke finally stood back up, his face flushed from embarrassment. Folding his arms tightly across his chest he sniffed a bit, scuffing one foot in the dirt. "So... W-What are you even asking me t-to do...?"
Yumi was pretty well aware her line of joking was lost on Viral, probably just best to drop it then. They were out here to have fun, not get all riled up over a small tease that had gotten out of hand. Smiling exasperatedly she rubbed at her head, letting out a sigh before looking over at the Beastman apologetically. "You don't need a shower, there's absolutely nothing wrong with your scent. Forget I said anything, let's focus on hunting, okay?" It was hard for her to get all bent out of shape right now, they were outside on a beautiful day and about to do something they hadn't in quite a long time. The last time they had hunted together was during their initial journey with Takeshi and Shu, well over a year and a half ago. The whole day was a long time coming indeed and Yumi wasn't going to let anything keep them from enjoying themselves. Humming softly she jumped over a fallen tree, turning on her heels to face Viral as she walked backwards, cocking her head to the side questioningly. "You say I should know my weapons but I've never used one before. Either I was too young to when we hunted or the only one we had was your cleaver, and you don't like other people touching that. I know how to make one but it's a bit much to assume I'll know how to use it flawlessly right away." She'd try of course, it wasn't hard to make a spear. She just needed something to fashion it together, that was all. "I don't suppose you're carrying string on you... Are you?"

How hard could it be to buy food from the Kaesstrians, really? Money was money, even aliens should be able to recognize currency regardless of whether it was theirs or not. If not he could probably exchange it somewhere, or use his bit of leverage with T'charrl to get them money. Hey, they had saved the planet in essence so the very least they were owed was a bit of money. Disregarding entirely what Kai was on about he pocketed the coins again, shrugging as he started off to the woods on the way to the city. Was Kai just sore at the fact food was being bought for him? Maybe it was a pride thing, not as if cooks really ever had the money to buy food before. "Of course money is a deciding factor. I figured you'd have learned by now that you can get almost anything you want with money," Kabocha pointed out, honestly surprised that Kai thought so little of it. Smiling amused he reached into his pocket once more, taking out a single coin before tossing it at his friend's head jokingly. "Hah, throwing it then just worked!" Letting out a laugh he quickly took off, flipping over as he flew and waving at the twins below, "Well come on then, the city is waiting boys!"

Maybe if they were lucky Shu would tire himself out just by bouncing around incessantly. Takeshi was all for playing but he wouldn't do it all day, that was a bit excessive. His little brother on the other hand looked ready for a week straight of goofing off, a little much by any stretch. Smiling exasperatedly the Saiyan rubbed the back of his neck, glancing over at T'charrl when he heard him talking. "Fly with us if that's what you have to do, it's kind of lame to just stay on the ground don't you think?" he asked, "And watch Shu do it, not me. I just kind of jump around, I can't do what he does." As if that was some sort of cue Shu bolted up a tree not a second later, doing so in a single leap and landing on a branch. Stopping to look up at his little sibling Takeshi smiled amused, shaking his head, "You've got to wait for us buddy, we're not as good at it as you are!" he called up, looking at T'charrl again for a second before jumping up and landing on the branch beside Shu. Right, so now he needed to remember how to do this. Just grab the branch and swing around, he could cheat a bit and use Ki to stay in the air if he had to. Reaching over and poking Shu in the side the older boy jumped off, laughing as he flipped head over heals before grabbing the nearest branch, swinging underneath and propelling himself upwards to the next tree in line. "Come on Shu, keep up!"

So they were really doing this stuff then, oh boy. Even Takeshi could somewhat swing around, probably nowhere near as well as Shu could. Haku's only relief was the fact T'charrl couldn't do it so by that logic he wasn't the worst one in the group. Seeing as that was what they were doing for now he figured he would join in, even if he ended up making a fool out of himself. Smiling uncertainly the Saiyan jumped up into another one of the trees, landing easily enough on the branch. So just jump from tree to tree and swing on the branches, didn't sound so hard. Picking out a tree a bit off to the side he made a jump for it, going a bit to fast for his liking. Rather than grabbing onto the branch he pushed off of it, going up and over awkwardly as he flailed his limbs haplessly. Searching frantically for the nearest branch to grab onto Haku shot himself forward, getting a good grip with both hands before swinging a bit and stopping himself. Okay so that was a lot harder than it looked, it was really disorienting getting flipped upside down.
Yumi smiled slightly amused at the fact Viral had taken offense to her comment, especially when none had been intended. "I never said it was a bad smell Viral, now did I? Maybe you have a pleasant smell, or just a very normal one." She didn't quite know how to classify Viral's odor, he did have one. Everyone on the ship had a distinct smell to them, she'd found, even when completely clean. By this point it was possible to recognize each of their friends by scent alone, provided she was trying to pay any mind to it. The aromas weren't constantly assaulting her nose or anything like that, she'd only really notice it if she tried picking them up. Figuring it was probably best to get moving before Viral decided not to go Yumi took the initiative and went off to the forests, the Beastman not far behind her. Glancing over her shoulder she pursed her lips in thought at his question, reaching up and scratching at one of her ears. "I know how to make very basic weapons. If we find a sharp rock, a strong branch or stick and some kind of rope I could fashion a spear. Other than that though I guess my plan was to just chase things." Not a very solid plan admittedly, but that's what she thought hunting was for Viral. Well maybe not only that, he had to have some intricate methods considering how much he used to do it. "You're teaching me the basics today, right? So how do you think we should start?"

"Even if it isn't whatever money they use here I doubt they'll turn away coins," Kabocha replied, smirking at Kai as he grabbed the small bag of money in his pocket. Tossing it up a few times in his palm he caught it and held it between two fingers, giving it a small shake. "It's still made of metal that's hard to come by, and once they realize that I'm certain our money will be as good as theirs. Heck, it might even be better!" He wasn't sure what Kaesstra had for natural resources, besides wood and rocks. Obviously they had some metal because of those big pillars, but that looked more like construction stuff than something you'd make currency out of. Slipping the bag back into his pocket he chuckled, folding his arms before turning away from the twins with a smug smile. "Is that jealousy I'm hearing, Kai? It's not like you to be jealous of someone, at least not openly." If this worked out then Kabocha might have a bit of influence for the first time since being on Kortal. Sure, even back home what he did have wasn't all that impressive, but it was more than most. If his money proved to be exceptionally valuable then he'd basically be nobility again.

This was going to be a blast, Takeshi could already tell. Even with Haku coming along he was sure they were going to have fun with this. It was hard not to think that way when Shu was practically set to explode with energy and all, the little guy's level of excitement was off the charts. Sticking his tongue out childishly the older boy took the lead into the woods, heading near the opposite direction Yumi and Viral had. They were off to hunt or whatever so it was best they stay away, otherwise they could ruin things for their friends. That and T'charrl might not do so well with seeing them killing wildlife, definitely a good idea to stay away. "Of course I'm going to swing longer, I promise. We've got nothing else going on so we can play all we want. Probably for the next few days even!" Unless something came up again, which was extremely unlikely they were guaranteed at least 3 or 4 days easy of just doing as they pleased. It couldn't have come at a better time for them too, everyone needed a bit of a break from the fighting. Saiyans or not they weren't mindless battling machines, even they got tired of all of it after a while.

Takeshi thought it was pretty damn neat how T'charrl could figure out where to go out here. To him it all looked the same, just trees everywhere. From where they were currently by the ship it was easier to navigate, he'd seen the city from their landing spot and could easily follow it. Once they ended up in the thick of the growth however he'd be good as senseless. There was no navigating by the sun on Kaesstra since he was pretty sure it didn't follow the same pattern as Earth's, and who knows what the stars looked like. "That's awesome T'charrl, really. And it's a good thing you feel relaxed too." Their friend had been really uptight and nervous about coming to Kaesstra the last few days, even with him trying to hide it they could tell. Funny though, once they had landed and set foot it was like T'charrl was a totally different person. He was enjoying himself and looked to not be worried about a single thing. Maybe he was really excited about playing, or really eager about seeing his parents again. His current form was a slight issue still but no one here was going to bring that up and risk upsetting the guy.

Swinging through trees sounded fun, but terribly complicated. How were they even supposed to do that anyways? Shu could do it easily with his tail, but Takeshi was missing his and T'charrl was hardly built for that sort of thing. Haku had his but he didn't even know where to begin in trying to swing around with it, that just wasn't something he'd done. According to the younger Prince you didn't really need a tail for it, you could get on fine without one. Okay, so how in the hell did you do it? And more importantly why were they doing this? There were plenty of other, more normal things they could do other than swinging about like a bunch of monkeys. Scratching at his head a bit Haku looked over at Shu, managing a ghost of a smile as he did so. "Are you going to teach us how to do this or something...?" he mumbled, not sounding all too confident, "Swinging from trees isn't exactly something most people do." Actually he didn't know a single person on any planet that did it. He knew of it, obviously, he'd seen monkeys doing it in the East City zoo, and elsewhere as well, but never a person. That aside they were basically excluding T'charrl with this game, something Haku was a bit surprised Shu didn't realize. Surely he wasn't that dim?
Kosuke just wanted to be left alone, was that so much to ask for? He tried keeping off to the side to avoid people and they still came up and bothered him anyways. They could never be nice ones either, it was always those who wanted to tease or taunt him for whatever reason. It was lame and he knew it, a tank that didn't want to group up and fight. That was his job, it's the very thing he was meant to do and yet he couldn't do it. He was like a dull sword, useless. Sighing somberly he laid his head on his arms and closed his eyes, hoping maybe for a moment he could imagine himself back in his room instead of Akihabara. The sound of a stranger's voice however startled the samurai, making him jump slightly as he lifted his head and came face to face... With an otter? That was a new one, he'd never seen one of them before. There were Werecats and Wolf Fangs, to name some of the Beastman groups, but otters? Realizing he was staring at the other player Kosuke quickly averted his gaze, feeling a cool sweat forming on his face as he was spoken to. Jeez, was this one here to make fun of him too? Maybe he could just get up and walk away, find somewhere else to relax. The Silver-Leaf Tree was fairly public after all, his fault for picking the spot.

Catching a break was never going to happen, not if he was going to stay here. Maybe if he had asked the otter, Largoes to leave then he would have. The abrupt appearance of yet another player however threw a wrench in his far from foolproof plan, yet again startling the samurai. Gasping softly at the girl falling from the tree he pressed up against the trunk, not all too relieved even when the girl didn't pay him mind at first. Why were people dropping in like that? Had she been there the whole time? Eh, had she been watching him?! He didn't do well with people, and certainly not with girls. He just was never that good with anyone in the real world, even if he wasn't exactly bad looking. Please don't let her talk to me... Just make them go away... The odd pair looked to be caught up in their own conversation meaning he got a brief reprieve. Inhaling through his nose silently to try and relax he closed his eyes, rubbing at his head with a frown. Again someone found it necessary to try and strike up conversation with him, this time it was Aiko. Opening his eyes and looking up at the assassin uncertainly he frowned, totally tongue tied. What was he supposed to say to her? Hello? That sounded kind of lame, and first impressions were everything. Oh but he was no good at first impressions!

"I-I'm Kosuke... Nice to m-meet you..." the samurai replied, bowing his head awkwardly before looking away, "He... Wasn't any trouble..." If he did say Largoes was trouble then Aiko would likely get mad, and then there would be yelling. He wanted to avoid that if at all possible, that was the worst kind of thing he could receive. Folding his hands in his lap Kosuke began to twist his fingers together, shifting uncomfortably when he realized he was still being looked at. Slowly his eyes crept to the corners and he glanced back at Aiko, wondering if she was waiting for him to say any more. At least these two weren't laughing at him, yet. If anything these two didn't appear to be mean in anyway, a bit odd, but not mean. Smiling shakily he shifted his weight around, getting into a kneeling position as he looked at the ground, pulling at one of his sleeves habitually.

"If... If um... You're going to ask me for something... To join you or whatever... The answer is no..." Realizing that may have come across as horribly rude Kosuke's face reddened in embarrassment, bowing forward with his eyes squeezed shut. "I-I mean I can't! I can't fight in groups and I don't get on well with other people and I c-can't help you with what you need so p-please don't ask!" he said quickly and all in one breath, inhaling raggedly as his nerves were getting a bit high. Couldn't they just leave him alone? Nothing against them, they were probably fine people, but he wasn't a people person. At all. He couldn't even offer them any advice as where to look for people if that's what they were after, making him feel bad for being unhelpful to boot. Neh... This was why he avoided people, these situations always turned out badly for him. Worst case scenario he was just going to up and run off, but he'd rather they left first, wanting to keep the spot he'd been at all morning.
Yumi most certainly did not consider herself hyperactive even in the slightest. Shu, he was hyperactive, no one would argue that. Her on the other hand, she was just excited about being back on Kaesstra and getting to actually enjoy herself this time. Everyone was, it wasn't just her who had been looking forward to their arrival. Deep down she was positive a part of Viral was eager too, it had to be better being outdoors as opposed to locked up in a ship after so long. Handing off one of the scouters to the Beastman before fixing her own on Yumi smiled back at him, her ears flicking excitably as a faint noise was heard in the forests. "You have a smell, believe me you have a smell," she answered, laughing lightheartedly as she began walking towards the woods, "It's not bad though, don't take that the wrong way! As for my nose... Well we'll see what happens with it!" Tracking scents was more or less the first thing that came to mind when she had brought up hunting. That was how Viral did it, right? Either that or she could use her improved eyesight to spot things out, albeit just because she saw better didn't mean she paid as much attention as she should. They were in a large forest, she'd be looking at all sorts of things. Hopefully Yumi could focus long enough to actually attempt hunting.

No way was Kabocha going to let Choi get a break, he was all primed and ready to give someone a hard time today. Teasing about the break with Yumi he sent his friend off to fetch the scouters, smiling smugly as the twin did just that and returned with one for each of them. The girlfriend comment did make Kabocha flush slightly, more because it was a jab at him than anything. He hadn't had that many, two at most as far as he remembered. And they weren't exactly princesses or anything, he was pretty glad one of them had found another guy actually. Enjoying Choi's disgruntled behavior too much to get upset himself Kabocha let out a small laugh, glancing at their new scouters before putting it on. "Right, sure you were man, because you're always about taking the initiative," he taunted again, grinning cheekily. "Tell you what, you seem kind of moody so I'll lay off the teasing. How about instead we go hit the town? We'll try the food or whatever it was you two wanted to do, and let me worry about paying." What Saiyan currency might be worth here he wasn't sure, it had to be worth something. They were made of precious metals after all so they had some value even off world, he just wasn't sure what. Hopefully his father didn't mind him stealing a bit, not as if the hefty lout needed it for anything.

"You just want to act like a goofball, that's it yeah?" Takeshi joked, smirking as he ruffled Shu's hair, "T'charrl will come with us, and I'll swing in trees with you. Just don't get too bummed out if I can't do it as well as you can. No tail, remember?" Just to emphasis being tailless the older boy had turned around with his back to his brother, wiggling his butt playfully. He used to be pretty bummed about that, missing his tail, but now it was to the point where he scarcely noticed it was missing. Honestly at this point if he got one back it might be even weirder for him then. Posing the question to everyone of what they were going to do he was a little surprised Haku gave an answer. It wasn't a very good one, he pretty much could have remained silent and they'd have gotten the same effect. So it would be up to Shu or T'charrl then what they were doing, and T'charrl had something in mind by the looks of it. Following suit after the Kaesstrian, Takeshi raised an eyebrow at the direction they were being led, "You can tell all that just by being here? That's kind of awesome. It's like you've got a map in your head, you know?" They wouldn't get lost now, that was a big plus! Takeshi had worried a little bit about ending up gods know where in the forests, now they weren't going to have that problem.

Haku listened to Takeshi and T'charrl go back and forth, feeling like he again had no place in the conversation. He was coming along but it was mostly as an observer, he doubted they'd let him play. Not that he wanted to, they were supposed to be Saiyans and all that, they didn't play stupid games. They might sound fun but they were stupid, yeah. Who was he kidding, even telling that to himself he couldn't sound very convincing. He wanted to play but he hadn't a clue how, and seriously doubted any of them were going to do the courtesy of teaching him or giving him a chance. If they offered it he might take it, if he felt comfortable enough doing so. Glancing over at Shu he actually smiled slightly, finding his peer's excitement to be a little infectious. If he only had a tenth of the fun the young Prince was having then he'd have a good time.

That was easy enough, and surprisingly there were no complaints about the imposed curfew. It wasn't unreasonable, Vegeta mused, so it wasn't that surprising he supposed. With everyone else going off to goof off he now had the time to look into other pressing matters... And maybe peruse the technology on this world in greater detail. The cultures for Viral's treatments were being developed which meant his work on that temporarily was brought to a standstill. Shu and Takeshi were handling T'charrl rather well, and Shu would benefit from having a little bit of fun. For the first time in quite a while he had time to himself, and he intended on spending all of it enjoying the unseen treasures of Kaesstra. Pocketing his own scouter he turned and took off on the spot, heading straight for the city. First things first, he'd visit Katas and check in on what they had begun during his last visit, see if he could offer any insight. Maybe he could ask about those pylons around the planet as well, those had been a curiosity that had been in Vegeta's thoughts since their first trip here. After that he might go about the city himself and see what more was out there. He also did have a little work to do now that he considered it, having been asked by Sayomi to be her eyes on Kaesstra. While he wasn't going to be doing blood and hair samples as asked he would at the very least do some observations, maybe even interviews to get insight on their culture. Ah, but technology came first, then people.
Display Name: Kosuke, the Crimson Blade
Real Name: Fukuyama Ryou
Age: 15
Race: Wolf Fang
Level: 68
Class and Subclass: Samurai and Avenger
Appearance:

    Equipment:

  • Casual attire: Kosuke dresses very simply when inside of a city, on a slight whim not to appear flashy or draw attention. Though the color of his outfit may vary it almost always consists of a high-collared tunic with short sleeves, and a long-sleeved black shirt beneath that. A leather belt secures a pair of brown pants around his waist and a set of socks and sandals cover his feet. Regardless of where he is Kosuke always wears a black, hoodless cloak which he typically keeps closed. Even out of combat he always has his sword at his hip.

  • Combat Gear: Kosuke trades all but his cloak in for his combat attire, opting for the flexible plate armor of traditional samurai instead. Wearing both a black long-sleeved shirt and pants which are both figure conforming he has over his torso a sheer, single plate of armor, both on his front and back. These are held together by black, interlacing straps which run along his sides and over his shoulders, and it’s to these topmost straps that two curved plates rest to cover his shoulders. His legs are covered primarily by thigh guards and shin guards, made again of the individual plates to provide maneuverability. A set of hardened leather boots cover his feet. All of his armor is of a reddish color.

  • Weapon: At current Kosuke only has a single weapon. Dubbed “Teshō’s Blade”, this Katana is a very rare drop acquired from the level 65 dungeon of similar name, “Teshō’s Burial Grounds.” About three feet in length, the blade of the weapon itself is made of a dark steel and a lighter steel, showing as two halves almost of one blade. Engravings of the Japanese idiom: “Nanakorobi yaoki” (fall seven times and stand up eight) can be seen on each side, the color of the engravings changing with the blade. The handguard on the sword is of an amber color and molded to look almost akin to a budding flower. The handle of the sword itself is made of a dark pine wood wrapped tightly in red cloth, two tassels hanging off the very end of it. The sword is unique in that it has two abilities to its name; Warrior’s Fury and Warrior’s Determination. Above 50% health Kosuke gains an extra 10% attack power when striking. Conversely should his health fall below 50% he gains an extra 10% in damage mitigation, both magical and physical. The wielder of this weapon gains the title of "Crimson Blade" in reference to Teshō’s infamous blood-red or crimson armor he wore into combat.

Elder Tales History: Despite playing the game for well over three years on and off Kosuke has spent nearly all of it as a solo player. PUG groups aside he typically trains and travels on his own, earning him a bit of a reputation as a loner. As such even when he attempted to join a smaller Guild he was invariably turned away under the pretense he wouldn’t work well with others, which may have been right. As a game which you could do perfectly fine as a solo player he didn’t let it bother him very much, the solitary play wasn’t all bad. As a single player he was able to train and gain experience at quicker rates than most and during the peak of his playing he was one of the higher levels on the server.

Kosuke had to take a break from the game as his grades had slipped, but after 6 months he had gotten back into it. Still a solo player, and now missing most of his few friends he’d made he resumed his solitary playtime once more. He had no desire to join others even still, but a tiny little event was set to change that. After the Apocalypse hit and countless players were stuck in the game it became increasingly obvious that you needed a group in order to survive in this world. Death may not be final but it wasn’t good by any stretch, it paid to have someone watching your back. With no one to support him then Kosuke soon found himself a near permanent resident of Akihabara. Sooner or later someone was bound to offer him a place in a group, he’d just have to hold out and wait until then.
Elder Tales... This was a game right? That was what thousands of people had asked themselves on that day, the day they had come to know as the Apocalypse. An MMO like any other, with a pedigree that drew thousands upon thousands of players to it daily. It was your typical computer game, you sat in front of a screen, used your mouse and keyboard and controlled some avatar. The character was a portrayal of you, but it never really was you. Just pixels, a collection of numbers that the game generated. You never really got an idea of what your avatar might be thinking, or feeling, because you weren't attached to it in any real sense. But what would happen if you were? If by some hypothetical situation you could feel every single thing your avatar did? From the pain of combat to the environment, the fatigue of wandering around or training all day and the very weight of your gear upon your shoulders, what if you could experience that all first hand? Surely it wouldn't be that trying, even if it did ever come to pass. It was virtual, the items couldn't have any real weight. Numbers made up everything in the game so there was no way there could be pain, no matter what happened to you. It was just a game, right?

The Apocalypse proved everyone wrong in that regard, and it did so harshly. The first day most people were just confused and panicked. No one was considering going out and fighting as everyone was too busy trying to figure out what had happened. Pretty quickly people began to band together in an attempt to find support, both friends and strangers alike. Strength in numbers, right? The mystery of what happened, of how everyone had become trapped in Elder Tales, the fear and potential ramifications of what this meant was enough to bring people together. As the initial shock of what had occurred gradually waned people gained enough courage to venture out of the cities, experience the world for themselves as it were. Not only did players now have to experience what it was like to be their characters but they also had to endure playing the game firsthand. Gone were the usual interfaces, you didn't have a mouse to click and keys to hit any longer, you were the controller. There were menus and all, and you could still access them, but much of what needed to be done was essentially through bodily motions. This made combat excessively difficult at first, and the fact pain was all too real didn't help much either. As days passed by people began to get a grasp on the new way of things though, and soon enough players were forming parties and going outside of the cities regularly, taking on the game as they had done so many times before.

The player base had shrunk drastically with the Apocalypse, and it was estimated only a few tens of thousands of players were in the game now. Players not inside the game at the time of the event could not get in it seemed, and those inside could not get out. Those who were in the game were the only ones that would be until something changed, and this was a fact the Guilds realized fairly quickly. Using their influence and size it was the Guilds that quickly took power, and through their power and influence they began to effect Elder Tales in ways never before. Towns were taken under the control of some Guilds, shaped into their design and sometimes even abused for their own purposes. In the case of Akihabara it would be a collective of Guilds that would take root, forming an organization known as the Round Table. All of the elite Guilds had decided to form an alliance and guide Akihabara as a collective, and thus far it had been fairly successful. In comparison with towns like Susukino which had been taken over by PKers, Akihabara was a peaceful haven for players. Slowly but surely thanks to an innovative take on food the city began to flourish and it became well known for its wealth and the freedom it afforded to its residents. Naturally players came here in spite of the Teleportation Gates not working, and pretty soon the city had become very lively.

In the face of all of this hustle and bustle there were still players who hadn't taken to the situation quite as well as others. Some people weren't as keen to form parties or join Guilds, they might prefer to be solitary. Or rather it was just easier that way, less stressful. Parties regularly departed on hunting expeditions and simple trips outside of town, but a few remained essentially isolated within Akihabara. A young samurai found himself sat at the Silver-Leaf Tree for yet another day, tucked away in the shadow of the large plant. He was a solo player, one of the few remaining in Elder Tales now. The dangers of playing a game which was now anything but kept him from venturing outside of the city, and his lack of any sort of friends or Guild kept him from participating in much. A bit ironic, a tank afraid to go into combat. It might be different if he had a team with him, even just one person. A few players had come along and invited him to join them, but every time he would either freeze up, immediately decline out of nervousness or remain silent until they left. He didn't do socializing well, not unless it was behind a keyboard and screen. Face to face interactions didn't serve him well at all, even if he was technically not himself. His avatar was an idealistic portrayal of what he wanted to be, and that ought to instill some bit of confidence in him, but it didn't. So the samurai kept to himself then, watching others go about their business. Maybe he'd join someone at some point, maybe not. It was easier sitting here, less stress.

Another party had come up to him not long after it had struck noon, a small team. They needed a tank, and naturally seeing one sitting by himself they had ventured a try at him. Much as Kosuke may even have wanted to accept their offer he simply couldn't, not without stumbling over himself like an idiot. After trying to explain he wasn't very good in a group he apologized profusely, enough so to the point the group called him a 'freak' before leaving him be, laughing at his expense until they were out of earshot. Sighing somberly to himself the boy pulled his legs up and wrapped his arms around them, resting his chin over his arms. Maybe he was being unrealistic thinking he would join a group, he couldn't picture himself getting into one. The best thing for him to do might well be just hang up his sword and wait for someone to fix this, then he could go back to feeling comfortable behind his computer like before.
