Naw some woman hit it with her little car. My parents were on their way home and they stopped to make sure she was all right, because it was the middle of February and dark. They decided to wait with her for the police to show up, and my mom calls home to let me and my sister know they'd be late and why. Naturally I ask if the deer was still in good shape and if so could we have it. My mom just hands the phone to my dad, who proceeds to consider my request. He explains that he'll have to ask the woman who hit it, since she technically would have first claim to it. So he goes to ask her if she wants the deer, and this poor lady is just like "No no no no…" and my dad is thinking that she's thinking the only reason they stopped to help her . Anyway, long-story-short the cop gave my dad a permit, he comes home to swap the van for the truck, and my sister and I (in our pajamas) throw on our boots and coats and hop in the truck with him to go get it. When we brought it back and gutted it we made a game of trying to name all the internal organs.We skinned it the next day, and it's pretty neat that this happened in the winter because the doe had a really thick winter coat, which deer don't have during the hunting season, so I wouldn't have ordinarily had the chance to get a fur like that. It's hanging up in our basement right now.

I was real young when I lived out in the country, so it's been a long time since I've been exposed to such things as hunting and skinning game. Makes me wonder if I'd even remember any of the things I was taught as a kid.

Skinned a road-killed deer, tanned the hide, entered it in the county fair my first year in 4-H and got Grand Champion in the conservation and wildlife category.Also we made it into a stew and it was delicious.

The Armies of Spam: A Medieval Fantasy Spamfic [Interest Check]

Took a further glance into this, and damn those naval battles. I want to see more. Locations of harbors, forts, etc? Tilrive is completely protected on all sides by bodies of water ( The lake, river border, bay, and deep water ) thus making me presume that it would have good naval capabilities. It also allows for the quick transport of troops and supplies. And considering it's a small piece of land, it wouldn't take very long to send troops to reinforce various key points at whim. It's nigh suicide to cross a body of water to attack an opposing force.

Reboot of a former RP of mine, which, as the title suggests, is simply a pointless rp. Story can be subject to rapid change, characters can vary, as can the setting, technology, etc. Mostly centers around a more steampunk style world with typical steampunkish and medieval technology. Also has a blurred line between good and evil, portraying a more in depth Information pertaining to the world and important characters will be updated as the story progresses.

For any who wishes to join, just post and let me know. C.S., all that good stuff. I'll probably get a blank template up sometime, but most of you should already know how to make a character sheet. Try to keep characters balanced, believable, etc. I'm also adding a sim aspect of this game from an RotK sim that I had played. The traits section below is part of that, and more will be added over time.

Agreed.I like the community we have on these forums. Any attempt to move people en masse to something off-site just seems... counter-productive?I dunno. It's like, everyone complains about Spam being "on the decline" but, like, maybe we wouldn't be declining so much if we weren't always migrating away from the forum, leaving this place to be less active. Food for thought.

I think it's less migrating away from RPG, and more of spending a bit of time together en masse. Easier to communicate quickly on a chat than on a forum.
