I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

I'm so up for giving this another go round.

"There's one on this floor. You're supposed to use it after gym time. This way." She said, gently dragging the procession in the direction that Kyo had indicated. She had pointedly ignored the first part of Josive's question, but as they made their way down she started to feel bad about that. After all, wasn't he helping out.

"Alfreda, Alfredo, is doesn't really matter. I don't really have a name but Mr. Hemlock, the man in charge of my old orphanage, didn't like calling me Jane Doe." It's something you put on forms, my girl, she could hear him say, No character. No soul. No je ne sais quoi! Not a fit name for a child at all. "He settled on Alfreda because..." She shot a grimace back at the little hopping flock following them down the hallway. "Because I like movies." She said through her teeth.

The bathroom would have been a good sized room if it weren't for the wall segregating it by sex. Entering through the boys door, momentarily basking in the feeling of being somewhere forbidden that swelled up in her chest, she led the boys past the lockers in the front and toward the line of enclosed shower stalls standing along one wall. "Hold on." She said, extraditing herself slowly from Kyo so she was sure Josive had him. She walked into the stall and threw aside the shower curtain before standing out of the way of the nozzle and turning it on. She stuck out her hand and felt the water, adjusting the temperature until it was just right. "Okay," she called, her voice echoing. "Get those shoes off and slide your legs on in here."
@Gentlemanvaultboy I have no idea what your character said.

She needs somebody to help her walk Kyo to the bathroom and run some hot water over his feet to make sure he doesn't have frostbite. She can't support him competently herself because she's tiny, so she wants one of the bigger kids that have already done show and tell for help.
@KatherinWinter@KatherinWinter
Oh no. She grimaced as she watched Kyo try to walk and how obviously he was struggling with it. She wasn't big enough for this. "Housekeeper!" She called out. "I need some help. I think we need to get Kyo to the washroom. Just give me someone who's gone already. I won't be able to catch him if he falls."

At least the ice was receding, that would at least make it easier. She wouldn't be falling on her face again, at the very least. She glanced over at the newly blue girl as the birds hanging off of her alighted on the now safe ground and made a mental note to stay far away from someone that dangerous and stupid. Then she went and inserted herself under Kyo arm, grabbing him around the waist to give what little support she could. "It's probably just pins and needles," She said, "but just to be safe we should go run some water of over those."

??? Ya lost me. It's somehow racist to compare me to someone else who likes Hetalia?

No, they don't like Hetalia because they find it racist, but have friend that like it like you do. They're going to stop talking about it now before it becomes a point of contention.
Unfortunately shed misjudged the force of her pull, sending herself clattering on to her back as Kyo came free and tumbled down beside her. Still, just the fact that he was out was a relief and she laid there for a moment to let her heart slow down, watching that tree he'd summoned up from the ether shatter into pieces and vanish. As the the thing fell to piece the bird, seemingly totally forgetting Kyo's existence now that he was free, flocked over and perched themselves on her prone form.

A second later she realized why, the feeling of something cold and wet climbing its way onto her hands and up her hair. She hastily sat up, the birds seamlessly exploding off her as she stood up before setting across her again like a feathery coat. She quickly grabbed Kyo for the forth time today, and started helping him up. "Who's still doing the ice?" She called, disgruntled, over her shoulder. "Knock it off!"

"Can you feel your toes?" She asked Kyo, concerned. Because of birds she'd never had the misfortune of catching frostbite, but she'd see it on other people. "You should probably change your shoes."
She was momentarily distracted by the tree that seemed to sprout up from the ground, looking from it to him and back again incredulously. She grabs his hand and pulls it down to make him feel the ice flowing up around his ankles. "Look, that's real. That's important. You need to get out of these shoes before- ahhhh!" She said, hurriedly ripping her feet off the floor and scattering the ice that had started to flow up them into tiny flakes of crystal.

That was bad. That was bad! She alternated feet, dancing like a barefoot child on hot asphalt. "Rub that." She said. "Where I put your hands. Keep rubbing it. Don't let it go up your leg. Hold on, I'll get help." She turned to sprint off and tripped again, falling forward and knocking her forehead against the ice before scrambling back up and out the door.

Slipping and sliding out of the gym and into the wall, she ran down the hallway toward the front door. She didn't know exactly what she would find when she threw it open, but she had a good idea. The reaction was almost instant. Bird swarmed around her for a moment, tiny little tufts of yellow, brown, and red, a small flock that swarmed down the hallway. What followed were four bigger birds, red head plumage displayed proudly, and then Alfie herself. This time she took the ice just a little slower.

When she rounded the corner back into the gym she saw exactly what she expected. The little birds, snowbirds, had swarmed around Kyo's feet. You could hardly see his shoes under the swarming mass as they rapidly beat their wings around him. It was very similar to a technique used by bees to silence wasp scouts. Knowing that they couldn't fight the wasps with stingers or mandibles, the bees instead simply dog piled the invaders, baring their wings furiously as they did so. The exertion raised the bees internal body temperature, and the heat generated by so many bees moving together cooked the wasp alive.

Alfie understood none of this, only that it had saved her life more than once when faced with a long cold night. Once she'd passed out despite their efforts and awoken the next morning in a circle of birds, dead from sheer exhaustion.

She could already see water pooling around his feet and up in the rafters the four woodpeckers watched stoically, ready to chisel the boy out if need be. She walked over and placed her hands on him again. "I'm going to pull on three, try to move with me. One, two, three!"

Considering all the more important thing that are happening and how long I was gone due to internet troubles, I'm just going to drop and stop tying up Minder and ToadRopes characters.
Anybody still here? I finally got my internet situation sorted out.
Finally have my internet back in working order, is anyone still here?
