I guess my comfort zone is "eccentric side character."

Let me just say, nobody is as useless as the Alliance.

Not as useless as a certain independent chump!

"Gene-Therapy nanobots." v2 said instantly. Perk of being a machine was that he didn't take a lot of time to think about things. "Experimental, and relegated to non-priority development in light of the Heartless incursion, but theoretically capable of weaving together or patching broken strands of DNA. It is unfortunate that the Ministry of Science is not as advanced in the field of genetics as the scientific body in your world appears to be. We were not even under the impression the Heartless possessed DNA. If we were able to acquire the documentation of your Shadow Nexus procedure I believe the risk to you would be lowered significantly, if not negated. The more data gathered the less likely there are to be complications."

"This is not the immediate concern, however. It would take time and resources would need to be acquired." he said, addressing the the room. Two of them had left. That was unfortunate. Why was it that people could not simply put their feelings aside to do their duty? Nevertheless, he went on. "The Princess is still in danger. With their abilities the Seekers of Darkness could return for her at any time. In particular I suggest treating any form of currency with wariness. Do not pick up any you see lying on the street and do not accept it from anyone. Even change is suspect."

Firebrand nodded at Viral's request, opening his mouth wide. The embers of one last blast flecked out at the corners, heralding the end. He honestly hadn't been expecting to get through with this duel without any interference. Then he heard the rat invoke a spell.

He immediately spun on his heel and heaved the blazing ball of Darkfire he'd meant for Viral at the rat, taking off into the air at the same moment. The dream had of course been too good to last. Maybe they'd all waited patiently before, but now that someone had already interfered the game was up. The genie was out of the bottle. Anyone could potentially do anything now and he had responsibilities to think about. Besides which, he'd had enough of spells being cast on him today.

He landed heavily next to Damien. "Horned Rat. Not something I've heard of. Know anything?"

"I hope someone followed her. That was the plan until she showed up, after all." Danny said with a big dopey smile. Right now the plan was really coming together. They'd completed a step he hadn't even thought of yet by finding Pyro before they caught a bad guy and made him guide them to his base. Now that she was here they could probably get this all sorted out by dinner.

He tromped out to Pryo and jutted out one enormousness hand. "I'm Frankenstein, nice to meetcha. I've been looking for you all day. I saw your video so I decided to head up this way. Tell me who you need punched and I'll punch 'em." He said, raising his other arm into a fist. Then his expression softened. "Oh yeah, you okay? You sounded pretty frantic on there."
That's right, just a reaction.
"Despite his unreasonable behavior I am forced to agree with Drake." v2 said, standing up slowly as the man got more and more agitated. The heartless level that he had encounters before was spiking. v2 did not enjoy fighting humans by design. He was a weapon designed for the heartless. Drake, however, was very nearly a heartless. He did a quick hypothetical and found those parameters to be acceptable. v2 hoped that slap had knocked some sense into him, but was incapable of denying the part of himself that hoped it only agitated him further and gave v2 the pretext he needed to inflict violence on him. Such were the limits of his AI.

"If this Shadow Nexus is bonded to him at the genetic level removing it could result in irreparable damage to his genetic code." He continued. "In addition, the protection of the princess is top priority. She does not seem to be experienced in the use of her powers. If something should go wrong the power of the Shadow Nexus I observed in the battle could place her in immediate danger."
"Oh, this." Ashley said, pointing to her head. "Not, this is just an alternative to a hazmat suit. Not that I'm sick or anything!" She added quickly. "Just, I give off this dust and it gets everywhere if the wind blows through my oh my god what a dick."

Some guy slammed the clown kid and he went down. The guy got it right in the nuts soon after that and then the clown kid laid him out flat. Loki was posturing at the other guy, but she decided he might need a little help. She whipped off both he gloves and placed them under her arm before raising us her dusty hands toward the other guy. She didn't clowns more than anyone else, but this was a hero school. You should act like it. It boiled her blood.

The ash flaked off her hands, then seem to suddenly build up. "It's not very impressive," she said to Tanya and Ed. "But everyone else is showing off so I should get to, right." With that the ash around her hands seemed to implode before rushing forward in a jet like spray across the yard, leaving a little trail under it as it went. It passed near Loki and caught the big guys friend square in the face. It wasn't enough to hurt him, being more like a fire extinguisher than anything else, but the rolling cloud was sufficient to coat him tips to toes.

After a few seconds a spray she lowered her hands, cutting it. "Cool off jackass, act like you deserve to be here." she shouted.
The peacock let out a long plaintive caw and Josephine reached up and gently stroked its head. "You're right my love. If I'd known we were getting this many I would have insisted on examination beforehand. Now if I start there would be a long delay." She'd been planning to give each person in the party a thought checkup before setting out. It would have made her job easier to have proper medical histories for these people, but for now it looked like she'd just have to eyeball it. It wasn't that bad. She was extremely good at eyeballing it, though that couldn't tell you much about what was going on inside.

"Why the secrecy?" She asked, uncontiously shifting her pack this way and that. "I could have better prepared for the journey had I known who my companions would be."
v2 stood up from his seat. "My name is Souji Kamiya version two, an artificial humanoid anti-heartless rapid response weapon." Introducing himself like that was most enjoyable. He decided to keep going. "In laymans terms, a robot. I am pleased to meet you and look forward to working with you in the future. Please refer to me as v2 for the duration of our mission. It is more concise and honest." After that he sat back down in his seat, straight back and arms at his side, looking at Drake then at Tocsax with his wide cold eyes.

"Query; should you not have determined whether this man was a heartless or heartless-like entity before recruiting him? Your organization discovered my true nature. I only have my world as a frame of reference, however I can not imagine a more closely protected secret that that."
