Yeah. Do we get a cool backstory for Darkness Rising?

^^^^^^^^
Sigurd was trying to get rid of all the damn dragons everywhere in Skyr- his homeland.

Though I don't remember what WOTW that was numerically, I think the 1st one was lore, so probably third?

You didn't exist when the first one came around, you showed up at number two if I recall. The same one Guru made Sikako almost rage quite.

Poor guy. He was pretty god compared to allot of those who joined, but never got to the second round in either of the two WOTW he joined in. Partly due to being set up against very good fighters at the very start. His goal literally came down to just surviving round one at some point.

Story arcs are only as good as the writers who want to invest in them. NoW has story arcs that can be exploited and examined but few people do so.

I think it depends on what you are fighting for IC wise. I think the second WOTW had this whole holy grail war wish thing going for it. So you ended up with allot of pretty good and believable reasons for people to enter the tournament in the first place. I believe Asperger (or whatever her name was) made a character was was basically fighting for the soul of her daughter.

Stuff like that you remember.

Quick, everyone post the best character sheet formats they've seen?
No one wants to join WotW anyway, all you get as winner is a t-shirt and have to write a letter . . .LOL

Hmm...that is a good point...

though generally I've find the story-arcs in WotW to be quite engaging.
Hey, the first letter that's not depressing. XD

Which should tell you how depressing all the previous letters were. I like we're keeping the theme of bitter sweet in these.
I would rather her be trained in something else, instead of jumping from spellsword to necromancer.

Since that sort of carries into warrior and mage.

Perhaps her primarily being trained as a mortician for the dead, and being taken under someone's wing to learn necromancy. That'd give you the necromancy, as well as a rather unique set of skills.

Well I didn't want her to be an outright mage, more like a monster hunter in the fashion of the Witchers. Only specializing in undead rather than all types of monsters. Though I suppose I could make her a necromancer with some tweaks.

I know freaking well I couldn't have been dead for that long....
@MelonHead

The 'letter' previous winners write to the new crop of WOTW contestants.

DJ was in the last WOTW?
