Yes, all the waiting is killing me! Where is everyone? AHHHHH!
The gods must actually be real, as Delilah’s presence made a believer of an atheist rockstar right then. Jar couldn’t remember the last time he felt so happy, as he looked up and saw his precious Lila standing there. Even though she was crying, it was something about the simplicity of her appearance, glowing tan and warm in the ocean breeze, she’d never seemed more beautiful.

You shine so bright it’s insane, you put the sun to shame.

Jareth stood up, nervous as a school boy and slid the acoustic guitar around so it was still strapped to him, but behind him now. ”I love you so much, my JarBear” she mouthed the words through her tears, he could swear his heart flew out of his chest in that moment. Jareth practically ran to her, trying as hard as he could not to trip in the sand. Some of the feminine on-lookers gasped and cooed, pretty much all eyes were on Delilah. Jar put his hands on her cheeks looked deep into her eyes. “Bombs, I’m so sorry. I promise to sing to you every night if you’ll let me. I’d rather die at your very hand than spend another day without you in my life.” He probably should have waited for her to say something, but he didn’t. He couldn’t.

Their lips met with a crushing force that could have set the very waves of the ocean into reverse motion. Soft, she was sooo soft. In two months he had forgotten how good her skin felt, the wonderful way she always smelled, and how her eyelashes softly tickled his cheeks when they kissed. He inhaled deeply, as if he could breathe it all in and keep the moment forever, because if she ended this right now, he would do just that: savor this memory until his dying day. When he finally had to stop for breath, and their lips parted, they realized people were cheering and clapping as if they’d just witnessed a marriage proposal. Jar looked at her and laughed nervously.

One drunk guy in the crowd held up his beer and cupped his hand to his mouth before yelling “Play Free Bird!” Jar looked at the guy and shrugged with a smile “I’m afraid I’ve never heard of it.” It was a sarcastic lie, of course, every self-respecting rock musician knew how to play the Lynyrd Skynyrd classic. But Jareth couldn’t even think of playing right now, as his future hung on whatever Delilah would say or do next.

And like a deer in headlights,
I meet my fate.
Don’t try to fight the storm,
you’ll tumble overboard,
the tides will bring me back to you…

I'm home now and writing a post! Also, I'm pretty sure the only making out that Delilah and Jar are going to be doing is with each other, as I'm fairly sure that I know who the secret couple is at this point. BUT, I could be wrong! Wouldn't that be something? Haha XD

P.S. - I'll be on the chat all night if people want to join me at any point.
Oh man, I can't believe I have to endure 8 hours of work before I can post. Gah, DelilahxJar lives on! :3
That's okay though, I think Adelisa, being as bubbly as she is, would be the one to convince Lilah to go anyway.
uwu

I'm on the chat if people wanna join.
Jareth let out a deep sigh once the door closed behind her. Upset, he rubbed his face vigorously with his hands and tried to think of what to do next. He could have wandered outside, watched as the sun set over the waves. He could have found some pretty little thing to drink the night away with at the bar. He could have, but he didn’t. He had to keep his promise to Delilah, and to himself, that he would think this through. He never said he would do it sober ,though.

Jar turned and headed back into his own suite. In the bar area, he plucked a short glass from the shelves and splashed the first whiskey he had found in the fridge into it. Alone, he headed back to his bedroom, sipping on the ice cold liquor. The king sized bed was truly fit for a king, and he felt like the down feathers might swallow him as he laid there, staring at the ceiling. When he finished the whiskey, Jar lit up a cigarette and took a long drag before flicking the ashes into his empty glass. He didn’t notice when the tears silently traveled from his eyes to the pillow, he didn’t notice when the booze and the benzos had put him to sleep.

As a child, Jareth had night terrors. The only dreams he’d ever had were the ones that taught him how to scream in false chord. But this wasn’t one of those nights, instead, he dreamt of her.

He saw himself of singing to her, playing on the beach while she sat cross-legged in the sand. He saw her walking towards him, a vintage lace veil masking her features. He saw them fighting until their screams turned to sounds of pleasure. He saw her struggling to pick up an autumn leaf, belly round with child. He saw them both crying a lot, but he saw them in love…

The moment Jareth opened his eyes to the sunlight streaming in through the window sheers, he had his mind made up. This party, he would win her back at this party. Or he’d die trying. Jar spent the morning desperately trying to write down the song pouring from his heart. It came to him in his dreams. Afterwords, he had gotten ready with the boys, taking special care in his appearance. He wore his board shorts and a black mesh tank top that showed off his tattoos. Jar put on a little bit of eyeliner and styled his hair, remembering the way he looked the night they first met. He hoped that maybe tonight could end the way that one had, except for maybe not in a grungy bathroom stall.

When the guys headed down to the beach party, Jar had his acoustic strapped to his back. The beach was pretty crowded and there was music, but it wasn’t live. Jar could fix that. At some point, Hunter and Grant scattered off to who-knows where, but Jareth took a seat on a stool and began tuning the guitar. He was shaking with nervousness. Gods, he hoped he didn’t fuck this up like he had so many times in the past. He would do whatever he could to earn her forgiveness… but what could he say?

”When words fail, music speaks…” – Hans Christian Anderson

So Jareth played his music, hoping to catch the ear of the one girl in the crowd who mattered. The only one who had ever mattered… After strumming the first few chords, he began:

“It's the way that you blush when you're nervous.
It's your ability to make
me
earn this.”

Despite the nervousness, he played on, letting his emotions do all the singing. People noticed his song, even though the party music soared loudy around them. Girls had gathered around, some had their hands clasped to their mouths, enraptured with emotion, but most just looked around, jealous of the girl for whom this was intended. But where was Delilah? She had to hear him, this was his chance, this was all for her. His voice rose for the part of the song that spoke the volumes of his heart, the epiphany he had last night.

“While you were sleeping I figured out everything,
I was constructed for you, and you were molded for me.
Now I feel your name, coursing through my veins.
You shine so bright it's insane, you put the sun to shame.”

When his song was finished, Jar opened his eyes, not realizing he had them closed for so much of it. Anxious still, he looked up from his guitar and prayed to the gods that she would be there, please be standing there, Delilah…
I'm going to do a timeskip post and then wait to post again until everyone is caught up. (mostly because I got overexcited and pre-wrote the post a while ago) :p
@Dirty Pretty Lies and I decided it might be nice to have a place for us to chat about the RP (or life) without clogging up the OOC on here. If you're interested, I've created a chatroom on chatzy for us.
Jareth watched as sadness pooled tears in her eyes once more “But I couldn’t make you happy. I couldn’t even keep our baby safe.” she choked out in a cry. He wanted to tell her that their child was safer with the gods than it ever would have been with him as a father, but he feared the effect his words would have. He instead tackled the first part, “Delilah, you made me feel more emotions than I ever have before, and happy was one of them,” so was anger “don’t ever think you didn’t make me happy.”

His words did little to soothe her distress. ”Let’s just get high and wasted and make lots of love, baby..” She began, a tempting notion, at least the last part was. When Lila had found out about his drug use, he honestly didn’t think he would survive her rage. But after she knew, and things had calmed down, he had tried to convince her to try getting high with him. Now that the opportunity was presenting itself , it disturbed him. This wasn’t the proper time or place; As if there was a proper time? No, it’s just that getting high when you’re so low is never a good idea, he was one to know, from experience. A LOT of experience. He looked down at her perfect doll-like features as she laid her head in his lap. He flirted with the idea of flirting.

Flirting with danger.

The danger of flirting…

His head swam with conflicting emotions. He had the power to end their heartbreak. He only had to say a few words, and it would fix everything.

No it wouldn’t.

What an idiot.

You can fit two mismatched puzzle pieces together, no matter how hard you punch them into the table; And they had certainly thrown a lot of punches in their relationship. Not literally, but, you know…

It was like an angel and a devil were sitting on either of his shoulders, tempting him with opposing views. One told him to lean down and kiss her, to take her in his arms and claim her as his own once more. The other told him to run, run far, look at the bullet you dodged! Quit staring into the barrel of the gun, you fool! And all they did was talktalktalk… he couldn’t even tell which was supposed to be good and which was bad.

Some angels fall, and some demons used to be angels.

Which was he? He didn’t know, but one voice soared above the other, taking hold of his subconscious. He found himself leaning down towards her, not away, but her eyes weren’t on his anymore. She looked to the bottle of pills and jumped up from his lap. ”Probably for the better!” said the angel. Devil?

Despite the sadness and intensity of the scenario, he couldn’t help but smile. “Do you even know what that is? I need that, so it doesn’t get me high, and if you took it you’d probably just fall asleep. The good stuff is in my…” it didn’t matter, he stopped there and rubbed his face with a flustered sound. “Oh Delilah, you’re right there. We are screwed up, which means we need to stop acting the way we always do.” We, the word tasted bittersweet on his tongue. “What I mean is, we need some time to think before we make a huge mistake here. Can we do that, for each other? More importantly, for ourselves?” He paused and gave it some thought “Listen, I heard that there is a party tomorrow night, it sounds like a lot of people are going to be there. I’m thinking they’re going to need a DJ, or a musician, so I’ll be there. But, I just need a day to process everything, and we can talk then. Okay?” Maybe his friends could convince him not to be a fool in 24 hours, he hoped they could. He hope they couldn’t. He didn’t really feel hope anymore. Jareth stood up and took the pills from her, letting his fingers linger on hers a bit longer than he should have. “Come on, I’ll walk you back.” Much to his surprise, back happened to be right across the hall from him.

Well, that’s awkward.
