The rats continued swarming around Reynault and Pele, unrelenting in their quest for food. However, Pele had wisened up to their tactics and managed to prevent any more rats from biting her, while the rats that swarmed Reynault still can't find a way to get past his armor and to his flesh! They might as well be using their gums to bite him to death.

After Pele threw off a rat from her armor, she muttered to herself "The staff isn't working! Damn...didn't want to use this so soon...!" She then closed her eyes and focused. The air around her and Reynault seemed to be getting hotter and much more humid. Three orbs of fire appeared, one above Pele's head, and two in each hand. She opened her eyes to show nothing but bright white light. As this power built up, she inhaled a large breath of air. She then exhaled, like she was a dragon breathing fire onto its enemies, and the fire orb above her head fired a reddish orange flame at a swarm of rats.

Pele, apparently, wasn't kidding around when she said that she was part of the Fire Ashari. That one blast took out more than half of the first swarm that had been bothering her. She finished off what was left of that swarm with the ray in her left hand, which was much weaker than the first blast, and she threw the last ray at the second swarm that was bothering her.

A portly, bronze scaled Dragonborn is manning the bar, and he nods to Elaranna in response to her request for water. He slides a glass to her, and he answers her question, "Ah, yes. Today for breakfast, we have your typical eggs and bacon, we also have fried fish on a bed of toast with a sea of greens, and we also have the special of the day: clam chowder. We also offer apple fritters for the pastry of the day. So, what would you like ma'am?" His voice was a rumble, as expected of a male dragonborn. It sounded like he could roar if he wanted to, but was keeping his voice at a reasonable volume for a busy tavern.

The dining area was full of other patrons and the waitresses and waiters were busy helping bring orders to the cook in the back, and bringing out prepared food and drinks for the patrons. Along one of the walls is a massive job board for those interested in working to achieve some coin.
Yes, that is correct. ^_^
10 actually hits. Just barely! Go ahead and roll damage
While Pele and Reynault had been speaking with each other, the rats seemed to have noticed the both of them and started swarming towards them. A large majority of the rats went to Pele as she seemed to have less armor than Reynault. Only one of the rats managed to bite her while she managed to avoid the other rats. The rats that did swarm towards Reynault just can't seem to bite through his armor.

Pele shouted and swung her staff at the rats, and she managed to knock one of them towards a wall, but the staff strike did not do much damage.

Better to have that nat 1 on Initiative than on an attack I say....

XD
Pele mentioned to him, "Well, I would like to save my spells for if we have to face a more challenging foe, but if you want to fight the rats, then I'll help." She then taps her quarterstaff end on the ground and the staff shines green for a moment. She prepares herself for the fight, if Reynault wishes to fight the rats.

((Roll Initiative if Reynault is going to fight the rats.))
The bard looks towards Keiji as he makes comment, and the bard rolled his eyes. He retorts, "Oh please. Don't act like you're not here for the same reason. Every man knows of Princess Tsukiko and her radiant beauty, and of course, every man would want her hand in marriage. You're more of a scoundrel than I am," He then spots Yuki by Keiji's side, and he comments "But I guess that's to be expected of a man who travels with his wet nurse instead of his friends," This gets a barking laugh out of the barbarian, and the tiefling smiles. Some of the guards were clearly holding back laughter and trying to maintain their composure.

The Daimyo calls out irritably to both your party and the bard's, "Enough! If you are to squabble like handmaidens, then do it outside of my estate!" His shout definitely snaps his guards back at attention, and they are certainly prepared to escort both parties off of the estate if the argument continues.
Scrapmouse shook his hand and answered his introduction with a "Nice to meetcha," before turning her attention back to her shop. She gave a laugh at Albrecht's question, and she answered him, "Most people are! But I ain't most people! No, the greatest inventor to ever live can't be averse to explosions! Besides, I've been in worse than this," She then continued answering as she started cleaning up, "I'd thought I'd try and see if I can make an improvement to ye olde Alchemists' Fire, but wouldn't ya know it? The chemical combusts before I can even start refining it!" She laughs after she mentions the Alchemists' Fire.

Looking around the shop, you can see not just potions and other alchemical items, but also small inventions, like toys, boxes with a wind on them, and some other gadgets you don't quite recognize. Some of them even look like they might fit with certain weapons. Everything is covered in soot, and it is hard to glean the details. The soot coverage seems to be at its worst in the backroom...that's probably where Scrapmouse works on her projects, instead of working on them in the front of this little store.
Pele answered Reynault "Well, the Headmasters certainly are druids, but the Ashari tribes aren't just druids and rangers. People of many talents are part of the tribes," When he asked where she fit in all of this and if she was a druid, she nodded and answered "Yes, I am druid. As to where I fit in all of this? Well...remember how I mentioned the Aramente? I just started the on that particular journey myself..."

Before she could continue, she holds an arm out to stop Reynault. In front of the both of them are three swarms of rats, eating and fighting over a corpse. With those swarms of rats blocking the way, it would certainly be difficult to maneuver past them. Pele suggests, "Er...On second thought, maybe we should take the long way around,"
