"Unfortunately, my coin purse is running rather light. I don't believe I could afford to buy anything currently," the assassin said. Duncan made a disappointed sigh as he listened to Xavalzo tell him of possible odd jobs he could take to help the inn and be given free room and board. Pocketing his coins, he looked to the thief turned bartender and said, "My... skills are a bit more oriented for other types of business, if you know what I mean. Are you sure there aren't any rival taverns you'd like for me to put out of business? Any noble making you pay an unreasonable amount of taxes?" He said this as more of a joke, he knew they were way too far out in the middle of nowhere to have any competitors or nobles.

Noticing Xavalzo's reaction to the strange sound originating below them, Duncan slid off the bar stool and got to his feet. Adjusting his gear he said, "Alright. Seeing as I don't feel like sleeping outside or hunting for food every morning, I'll take you up on that job offer." He held out his hand to shake on the unofficial contract before adding, "Just tell me where the stairway to the basement is and get a meal ready for when I return."

I knew that Velvet was taking pictures of weapons. Don't know how she's able to use them once projected, but whatever.

Called Ironwood's robot arm. Or robot half, or what have you. That looks like it's been resolved for quite some time, though.

Well, I guess a single knight arm is something, Weiss.

The way Ruby took Neo out of that fight had me pausing the video and giggling uncontrollably for half a minute.

Hope they didn't kill Roman. I mean, there's no body, but he also got swallowed by a giant half-bird half-lion thing that exploded and presumably crash landed with the giant airship.

inb4 'need a hand' jokes from Yang. Or shocked silence when she figures out she lost a body part. I'm reminded of RWBYQUEST. Hm. Oh well, Mercury and Ironwood prove that the replacements are very good at their jobs. There's something about arms in this episode.

Is it wrong that I felt this heavy Yandere vibe coming off of Adam for over half his screen time?

Also, are we finally going to see Ozpin fight now that Cinder blew through plan B through Z?

I think Velvet's semblance allows her to copy other people's fighting styles as well. Kinda like that one character from the TV show Heroes.

Thoughts on episode

Well, I'm glad Ironwood's not dead.
Qrow's scythe is a truly impressive piece of machinery indeed.
I seriously doubt Roman is actually dead.
Adam is brutal, man. I don't think his weapon pierced Yang's aura; I think it brought it to zero in one shot, depending on what damage she already sustained offscreen during the fighting.
Cinder got all of the Fall Maiden's powers.
Assuming for the sake of appearances that Roman is actually dead from being eaten, this episode is the first one with technically real casualties so far: him and Amber.

It surely is.
I don't know. I could see them having him crawl out of the gryphon corpse in the next episode, but at the same time I could see us never seeing him ever again.
I'm not sure how Adam's weapon works, but HOLY SHIT YANG'S ARM! I wasn't surprised by it due to my own stupidity, but goddamn.
Yeah, it seemed to me she got all of it as well. Who knows, maybe during the final battle Pyrrha will call on her fraction of the power cosmic Maiden's Power, but we're definitely not going to see the two of them have a 1v1.
What about that Hugh Jackman looking character that Emerald and Mercury killed off screen? Are you not counting it because it was off screen or did you forget?
And don't forget Velvet's weapon/semblance reveal. It's pretty cool that she replicates their fighting style as well as their weapons.
