Adrien walked to the auditorium with Harley. They found a seat near an aisle about halfway down. He was happy to be back at school, happy to be back with his friends. Although he loved his mother and sister dearly, he did consider the school to be home like Mrs. Pryde mentioned. The formality of addressing adults by mister or misses was something his conservative Russian mother ingrained in both he and his sister. A few may have been uncomfortable, but it was more about respect than age.
Adrien waved at a few of the kids he knew from last year. He hoped he would be considered for X-men this year. He was 18 afterall, but his mutant ability didn't lend to well to a combative role. Adrien was actually very happy with his ability. He could hurt a fly and would rather help than hurt someone.
"Harley?" Adrien looked at his friend. "You think we get picked for X-men? I'm excited to see how things go. You know what mean?" Adrien spoke in his Muscovite accent. He had actually gotten better with his English and was planning to take the test at the end of the year to become an American citizen.

I am a veteran of the United States Army and the US Army National Guard. I spent three years on Active Duty serving in the 4th Infantry Division (Mechanized) at Ft. Carson, CO, and the 3rd Armor Division at Kirch Göns, West Germany. I spent 18 years in the Army National Guard with the 26th Infantry Division "Yankee" and 29th Infantry Division (Light), "The Blue and the Gray". I was deployed to Bosnia-Herzegovina with the 29th ID (L) in 2001 - 2002. I have also been reading military history articles and books since I was 10 years old. I do prefer Military Role Plays over all other genres, primarily because I have a vast knowledge of the subject including personal experiences. At the very least, my characters are always veterans.

When I was a student in High School, I used to play Dungeons & Dragons. Recently, I have been DMing a 5e campaign of my creation for my son and his friends. 5e is so much less cumbersome than earlier editions of D&D. I do have an interest in Tolkien-esque fantasy-styled Role Plays as well. Time travel has always been a fun genre for me, but to do it well, one must have a firm grasp of historical facts.
There are only a few fanfictions I will participate in; Star Wars and Star Trek are two of them. I want to do an exclusively Klingon RP one of these days. I also avoid Canon characters.
I have real-world martial arts experience. I would love to write an RP about hand-to-hand combat, no fantasy magic chit, just hands elbows, knees, and feet. Maybe the occasional head butt thrown in to mix things up. I trained in Krav Maga for six and a half years. I earned a first-degree black belt in Krav Maga on 3 June 2017.
Krav Maga is an Israeli martial art form that employs practical self-defense techniques drawing forms & techniques from Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwando. It is very brutal, demanding, and aggressive. During the seven years I trained, I have bruised two ribs, sustained several muscle pulls, and various lacerations and bruises over my body. His mother, Nika worked as a physician in a hospital on Moscow. When her husband died, she was struck with grief and felt it necessary to leave Russia.
The Timoshenkos ended up in Albany, NY. Nika could not be employed as a physician in the US as her credentials were not transferrable from Russia to the US. She trained as an Emergency Medical Technician and currently works as an EMT for a local ambulance company.
Regina, Adrien's 16-year old sister took the loss of her father the hardest. She has been morose and quiet ever since his death. She wears black and takes on a Gothic appearance with dark eyes, multiple piercings and tattoos. As a teen, she is rebellious and does her own thing. Nika is very worried for her daughter, believing trouble is waiting for her around every corner. Adrien also, is concerned for his sister and tries to watch over her when he is able.
Adrien discovered his healing ability at age 11. It was a surprise. He healed his sister who fell ill from Bronchial pneumonia. While she lay in her bed near death, Adrien draped his hands across her torso as he wept. He prayed to God and wished for her to become well. A faint wisp of orange colored light emanated at the point of contact between the siblings. It was as though a transfer of energy occurred passing the illness from sister to brother.
The illness passed as energy into Adrien making him very tired. He immediately fell asleep. In the morning, Gina awoke healthy wondering why her brother fell asleep on the floor next to her bed. When he woke up, he was happy to see his sister alive and well. He initially believed he was not responsible for her health. It would be another two years before that realization hit.
His mother was traumatically injured in a motor vehicle accident. Nika was in a coma and suffered two broken legs and a fractured pelvis. He found himself in a similar position as with his sister two years earlier and once again, he cured his mother of her injuries. When she awoke, her bones had seemingly mended themselves. She awoke to find her 13-year old son asleep in the chair by her hospital bed.

Working on a character. I love X-men and Avengers. "Rasputin" is more of a support character with his ability, than an "in your face" combatant.

TJByrum saidIt appears you have an interest in Viking history and intend to create a nation replete not with one solitary King, but with several small groups, clans or enclaves who may all get along at some times but not all times. That does make for an interesting set up. The Vikings or Northmen cooperated with other clans on many of their raids, but it wasn't always peace and cooperation. I like nations that build in an internal opposition to the majority. It does make for a more interesting story.
My general idea for a character goes something like this:He and his people were forced to flee their homeland years ago and settled these 'new lands'. These people are pagans with a warrior-ethos and simply want to raid, pillage, and loot everyone around them (similar to the Vikings). Their leader, however, is more level-headed. He wants his people to remain at peace, build up his forces and economy, and simply try to survive in this new land. He is also trying to convert his pagan people over to the church, but like an old habit their beliefs can be hard to push away. But how long before his practices cause unrest amongst his people?
I have been thinking about where I want to take my nation. My ancestry is English and French. My mother's family emigrated from Shropshire, England which would have been Mercia in the 10th century, but was then became part of the Kingdom of England in 927. My father's family emigrated to Canada from Normandy in the 17th century. By the 12th Century, the Normans were a mix of Romans, Gauls, Danes, Norwegians, Hiberno-Norse, Orkney Viking, and Anglo-Danish. Maybe something along the lines of the Duchy of Normandy. Although, I may just go with a Feudal Japan theme, the Byzantine empire or something altogether different.

Brief History: Colonel Hugo Göttingen was born on Naboo in 42 BBY. His father, Friedrich was a commissioned officer in the Army serving the (Old) Republic. Friedrich Göttingen attained the rank of General before retiring to Naboo following the conclusion of the Clone Wars. Hugo's mother, Demeter served the family at court, recording proclamations from the Monarchy. She served as recorder for King Veruna, Queen Amidala, Queen Jamillia, Queen Neeyutnee and Queen Kylantha. Demeter retired from Naboo public service in 4 BBY. General Friedrich Göttingen served during the clone wars commanding elements of the clone army. When the Clones betrayed the Jedi order, he was surprised, but close enough to see it happen. Friedrich knew that if he spoke up against the treachery he would be put to death. In 19 BBY, at the age of 49, Friedrich silently resigned and retired to Naboo with his wife.
In 24 BBY, Hugo joined the Republic Army serving as a platoon commander, following in his father's footsteps. In 22BBY, when the Republic contracted with Kamino for the Grand Army of the Republic, Hugo found himself promoted twice from Captain and finally to Major in the first year of the contract. The Republic was desperately in need of experienced officers. Although Hugo only had two years experience at the platoon level, he was able to complete necessary schooling to be prepared as a primary staff officer at Regiment or Special Staff officer at Division.
When the war ended in 19 BBY, Hugo was largely unaware of what became of the Jedi Order. He heard the rumors that the Jedi were betrayed by the Republic Army, but failed to believe or understand. It wasn't until he took leave on Naboo in 17 BBY, that his father explained to him what had happened. The younger Major Göttingen was troubled by this revelation. His period of denial ended and reluctantly accepted that Emperor Palpatine was not the man they all thought he was. This revelation took ten years to finally settle with Hugo.
Slowly from 17 BBY to roughly 7 BBY, Hugo fought an internal struggle to decide what he would do. He had served faithfully for the Republic and then the Empire, even serving for two years with Lord Darth Vader. In 7 BBY, Hugo abandoned the Empire and fled to the Rebel Army. He helped to train new recruits and fought alongside former Imperial brethren against the Empire at Hoth in 3 ABY.
Following the escape from Hoth, Hugo Göttingen was promoted to Colonel and given command of a Mechanized Infantry Regiment in the Newly formed Galactic Alliance. His Regiment is one of the regiments organized into the Galactic Alliance's 1st Armored Division.

His nose is long and pointed. A 1" long scar adorns the left side of his jaw-line. He wears the standard New Republic uniform; tan colored jacket, Light blue buttoned shirt, brown trousers and mid calf brown leather boots.
