Hmmmmm....

Solomon Grundy was more than just a menace. His low intellect and high power was a disastrous combination. He honestly was a villain out of happenstance rather than need. He just wanted to impress his friends and make some money, his friends just happened to be criminals. If he only realized that he'd be able to get way more of both helping out the good guys than the bad guys.

Bruce couldn't worry about that now, however. Grundy was mad, and he was throwing knives from inside himself at the Batman. Once he realized that wasn't going to work, he ripped half the train apart trying to swipe at Wayne.

"Batman," Oracle's voice popped back into his ear, "the Batwing's sensors are picking up an approaching speedster."

Barry, you wonderful goof, Bruce thought to himself. He'd be able to handle Grundy by himself, but without help Star Sapphire would easily get away with Amazo's head, something she was trying to do as Grundy and Batman circled one another.

It was then that Solomon Grundy noticed the bright pink trail of light leading away from the train. "Huh?" He questioned. The big creature turned away from Batman momentarily, glancing around the cabin. His partner was gone! "Where she go?" He asked. "Where box go?!" Grundy panicked when he noticed the missing crate. "Did Bat-Man take box and partner?!" Grundy yelled angrily. "Grundy smash you if you did!"

"No," Batman growled at the zombie. As the villain attempted to sort it out in his head, Batman slid his hand up to his utility belt, searching for a small charge. Grundy had torn the train car half apart. A well placed blast would send it splintering apart. "She took the case and ran, Grundy. Like I told you, they don't care about you. All they want is to use you as muscle."

"Bat-Man lies!" Grundy yelled angrily before taking off in a run towards Batman. Unfortunately for him, the vigilante's explosive landed below his first footstep. The combined shock ripped the train cart apart, flooding the area with a huge rush of air. Batman caught it with his cape, gliding him safely to the ground.

Grundy wasn't as lucky. He bounced hard along with the tumbling pieces of train car, the momentum of the train carrying him a few dozen yards away. With a window, Bruce contacted Barbara, "Oracle, send the Batwing to assist the speedster with Star Sapphire."

"What are you going to do, Bruce?" Babs asked.

"Make sure Grundy is occupied."
Cool... If you don't mind, I have a couple of idea's for characters for this:

1) Super Soldier

Honestly, if you reject this, I will not argue as I fully understand why. But the idea is that Super Soldier is an Amalgamation of Superman and Captain America. I've always loved the character and the chance to play him is always something i've wanted to take advantage of. I was hoping for him to essentially work with the whole "I may be Clark Kent, but I'm not this Superman guy everyone is so upset about. I'm just an honest man with the power to fight for Truth, Justice and the American way, and that's exactly what I plan to do."

2) Magic based OC

Essentially, she is a hermit witch, one of those beings with immense magical potential in the world, though not on par with someone like Doctor Fate, her power is still comparable to Zatanna's, although her method of magic is completely different. Instead of magic incantations, she makes Magical items to use. Magic Scrolls, Talismans, jewelry and all other magical items that are each imbued with a specific spell. She is more than happy to remain in her shop that she uses to hock glittery rocks to morons to pay the rent, but events force her to take an active roll in the Justice League's affairs. Of course, most take exception to the fact that her chosen physical form is that of a 10 year old girl, but in reality, she is closer to 700... And has a mild addiction to a smoking a magical herb that permeates her body with mana.

3) Slobo

Always my go-to guy for playing younger characters. He is the Top Teen with a foul mouth and even more foul attitude, damn near indestructable and physically as strong as Superboy, he is almost the Boy of Tomorrow's dark reflection. He's always a lot of fun to play.

Okay, out of the three, only the third would be an acceptable choice.

Batman post will be up shortly

Neutron unleashed another blast towards Supergirl, leaving her only a blink of the eye to get out of the way. The stream of energy strikes the wall behind her, melting it like butter in the microwave. Even though it didn’t hit her, the radiation made her woozy. Clark had been on the planet long enough where powerful radiation didn’t affect him, but Kara didn’t have the same luck. This fight was going to have to end soon if she had any chance of coming out okay.

And she was not planning on dying on her first day on the job.

“You look like you’re feeling ill, Supergirl,” the villain mocked her. “Maybe you should take a seat!”

He fired another stream at her, which struck her in the chest, sending her reeling. She slammed into a marble column, sending the rock collapsing on top of her. It hurt like hell, but it also gave her an idea on how to take this guy out. His mocking words were more than just a mind game. He needed to charge up his blasts. He mocked because he didn’t have a choice otherwise.

That’s all Kara needed.

She popped back up, prepared for yet another energy attack. Like clockwork, it came towards her, and she easily stepped out of the way. Before she had to hear another word out of his mouth, she took a deep breath and let loose a powerful gust of super breath. The incredibly frigid air strikes the villain, and almost instantly the nuclear reaction fueling him grinds to a halt in front of her. She continues, and before long Neutron is frozen solid in the middle of the bank.

Kara exhales deeply as the sound of helicopters reach her ears. The sound of ARGUS helicopters, to be specific. Whether or not the leaders of ARGUS were people to be trusted, they were the Justice League’s only option for superhuman detention.

The helicopters landed outside and a wave of agents rush in, surrounding Kara and the frozen villain. She nods at the Neutron-sicle, “You’re gonna want to keep that as cold as possible. If not, he’ll get out. Once you have him at a secure location, keep him in a radiation proof room. That’s the best way to keep him off the streets.”

“Thanks, Supergirl,” one of the agents smiled as they began to take Neutron away.

Kara walked with them, emerging to applause from Metropolis’s citizens who had gathered outside the bank. She smiled and waved meekly at them. She had seen Clark do this so many times, and he made it look easy. She was different. She wasn’t someone that took the admiration and attention all that well. She appreciated it, sure. But it still made her feel slightly uncomfortable.

“Nice threads, Supergirl!” a familiar voice said from beside her. She turned to find the smiling face of Jimmy Olsen snapping pictures. “Looks just like the big guy’s costume.”
“I think that was the idea, Jim,” she smiled back.

“Supergirl!” Lois Lane came up behind Jimmy. “Can I get a statement for the Planet?”

“Sure, Ms. Lane,” Kara nodded. “I stand by what I said at the funeral. My cousin’s mission is now all our mission. I’m here to take up his fight in Metropolis, and no one attacks this city without hearing from me.”

With that, she took off and headed home.

Fortress of Solitude

Kara rubbed her eyes as she stared at the screen analyzing Neutron’s attack on the base. Next to her, Kelex stood analyzing the data as well. She could hear his circuitry and sevos running as he looked for any sign of how the man got his powers.

“This is Intergang. I know it.”

“It seems likely,” Kelex agreed. “They do enjoy stealing. Though we’ve never seen power like this from them before.”

“Well...let’s hope the computer finds something,” she sighed. “In the meantime, I’m gonna try to find out where Intergang’s hideout is.”
Freaking Christmas.

Sitting down for a night of posting in a bit. Nothing on my plate and I took tomorrow off, so we'll definitely have some stuff up.
Robin is approved.

Still working on posts, y'all. The holiday is getting in the way, but should have stuff up tomorrow

Metropolis

Kara Zor-El had heard Krypto’s howls from the moment it happened. That’s the thing about dogs, they always know, even before people did. The old dog’s howls of sadness tore the bandage of shock off Kara’s wound, letting the emotion pour out as she made her way around a ruined downtown Metropolis, trying to find any survivor she could. It was the only thing she could hear as she floated through the city, overturning rubble to reveal choking people. Everything else was a dull, monotone ring, like after standing a bit too close to a firework going off. The civilians she saved cried and hugged her profusely, but she didn’t hear a word they said. She set them down one by one at the emergency triage centers and went for more, barely acknowledging their gratitude.

<Kara,> a soothing voice entered her mind, shaking her out of her malaise. She turned to find J’onn J’onzz, the Martian Manhunter, floating behind her. A gash across his right shoulder dripped with blood, and his left eye was swollen. J’onn had always been a calming presence to Kara, a fellow refugee on the planet. He knew what it meant to be the last of his kind. But tonight was different. There would be no calming the tempest of emotion flowing through her.<We have the situation taken care of. Go. You need to go.>

“Thanks, J’onn,” she replied flatly, choking back the tears. Zooming off towards the Arctic, she just wanted to be alone.

Kara landed at the Fortress of Solitude, hobbling on the leg the creature had injured earlier in the night. It was probably broken, but she couldn’t feel it. She couldn’t feel anything really. Nothing but a void left by the only person who she had a real, true connection to in this world.

Krypto bounded through the snow out of the Fortress towards her. His head was held low, and he began licking Kara’s wounds when he reached her, whimpering slightly. She reached down and patted the dog on his head, “Good boy.”

The two of them entered the gigantic doors of the Fortress, which shut behind them with a thud. Kara hobbled towards the location’s command center, passing the other wings as she did. The intergalactic zoo, labs, and Krypton museum were eerily quiet, almost as if the robotic workers and specimens in each knew what had happened. This place was now hers, she guessed. Well, her’s and Konnor’s.

“Kara Zor-El,” the robotic voice of Kelex, the Fortress’s caretaker said as she entered the control room, “are the reports true.”

The metallic-sounding voice roused Kara from her stupor. She looked up at him and wiped a few lingering tears from her face. She adjusted the ripped skirt of her costume, realizing now that it was nearly ripped to shreds. Finally, she nodded, “Yes...Clark...Kal-El...he’s dead.”

As the words came out of her mouth, the lights in the control room went out, and a hologram emerged from Kelex’s eyes. There, standing before her was Kal, clad in his full Superman regalia, “Kara, if you’re seeing this, it means I’m gone. Neither of us ever wanted this, and both us hoped it would never come. But it has. You may think you’re unable to carry on. You may think you’re not ready. But you’re wrong. I’ve watched you grow into a powerful woman, and one of the greatest heroes on the planet. You can do this. You can carry on my work, and the legacy of Krypton. I believe in you, and if you believe in yourself the people will love you as much as they did me. Take care of Ma and Pa. Make sure you visit Krypto. Tell Lois...tell Lois I’m sorry. Help Konnor...you two are all we have left. And Kara...I love you. I know you’ll do great.”

The tears started again, surprising Kara. She didn’t think there was any left to cry. As the hologram faded, a portion of the crystal floor of the Fortress began to rotate before a cylinder emerged containing a new Kryptonian uniform for Kara. She strode over to it and ran her fingers over the crest on the chest, and marveled how the new one looked so much like Clark’s. She may never be him, but she could look like him, and she could do her damnedest to do as he did.

“Kelex,” she turned to the robot and began putting on the new suit.

“Yes, Supergirl?”

“Get me all of Clark’s files...I need to study up on who I’ll be dealing with.”

Metropolis
January 2, 2016

It didn’t take long for the criminals of Metropolis to try and take advantage of the destruction and absence of Superman. Like rats feeding on a carcass they emerged in the new year in order to get their piece, and Intergang had always been one of the biggest rats in the city. In the months leading up to Clark’s death, they had gained some fantastic, deadly technology. Kal hadn’t known where it came from, but it made them a much more ferocious foe.

Kara wasn’t surprised that they were the first to really start testing the waters of the new Metropolis, but she was a bit shocked they decided to hit the Federal Reserve right away. She had to give them credit, they were certainly ambitious.

She swooped down into the hole they had blasted into the side of the building, freezing the first two Intergang members she saw with her freeze breath before coming to a landing in the main vault. There, a man in a goofy looking mechanical suit. She laughed, “Man, and I thought villains wanted to look, oh, I dunno, threatening?”

The man spun around quickly, firing an energy beam at her as he did. It struck her in the chest, sending her flying back.

That was unexpected.

“Well, well, well,” he laughed. “The girl of steel makes believe she can fill in for Superman. Unfortunately for you, they’ll be burying another flying freak and Neutron is done with you.”

“Ugh...you’re talking in the third person? Great…” Kara groaned as she stood up and readied herself for the next attack. “Makes me want to put you down even harder!”
I should have a Daredevil post up tomorrow or Monday. Sorry for the big gap, been a busy week
