They're gonna come back eventually, yeah. That's a given. In the meantime, though, there aren't too many others to focus on.
Now all of Goku's somewhat capable friends are dead. It's just the Super Saiyan and his son now. Thanks to Frieza, maybe Goku will have some more screen time.
