Really glad this is mostly Hack inspired, SAO's not my fancy, haha.

Legend of Korra - For Lack of A Better Path (2)

The Five metal wires reached down over the office, as five people dressed in gray gear with crimson accents were slowly repelling down the building, taking their time moving down. The one in charge signalled with his right hand for them to stop, they were at the right floor. The night gave them the cover they needed for their attack. Their targets were the cell in the local gang that had grown quite the rep around the city as “The Earthshakers”.

The commander of the force motioned with his hand for the guys up on the roof to lower down the two water-canons. The two weapons, looking similar to a rocket launcher, were pressed against the walls that they were hanging from. The Commander signaled, one, two, three, and on three everyone jumped backwards, and the water canons were fired, blowing holes in the wall and splashing the room with water. The Commander swung back towards the building, using his electric glove on the canon to transfer the electricity through the water, into the thugs inside the building.

As the commandos swung back to the wall, they broke through, causing mass confusion for the benders that were dazed from the water and electricity they had been hit with. The Commander, Soru, walked past two guys that his soldiers took down, he headed for the leader of this cell of the gang. Tashi Hano was his name, and he was dangerous man, and a powerful earthbender. He got a visual on Tashi, as another bender jumped at him, a knee came towards Soru's face, he dodged by leaning backwards, fire following the knee, and soon a fist came down with a fireball ahead of it, Soru did a cartwheel backwards, jumping two meters into the air, he came above his assailant, and with one punch he smashed the man's collarbone and shoulder, sending him to the ground holding his arm and crying in pain.

Soru landed gracefully, rolling on the ground and then back up onto his feet, as he dashed towards Tashi, whom was currently fighting one of Soru's men. “Carter, back off.” Soru said, as Carter, a firebender, pulled away from the target with a flaming-punch. As Tashi brushed the flame off, he was met by Soru jumping into the air, delivering a punch to his face, breaking his nose. Tashi stumbled backwards, holding his nose “You little shit!” He shouted, Soru dashing at him, Tashi punched, Soru rolled with the punch, and rolled over Tashi's arm, landing behind him, sweeping his leg, Soru was taken off guard by Tashi moving the floor under them, sending a slab of ground into Soru's face, making the young Commander stumble backwards.

Tashi got back on his feet, and took his earthbending stance. Soru smiled, as he pulled out the kukri from his waist, and charged at Tashi, ducking under a rock, jumping over a slab, he came in close to Tashi, and quickly slashed Tashi's leg, a shallow wound, not enough to hurt him seriously, He then kicked Tashi in the chest, as he lunged behind him, a punch to his kidney made the bigger male hunch over in pain, Soru sliced him in the arm, then in the other leg, Tashi sent a slab into Soru's chest, he dodged a wave of water coming at him from one of Tashi's men, and then he went back in on Tashi.

Soru was disarmed by a rock, but that didn't stop him. Soru punched Tashi in the gut, then kneed him in the chin, and ended his combo with a side-ways palm-punch, making Tashi smash his head into the wall to the side.

Soru held Tashi up by the throat against the wall, despite the fact that Tashi had 65 Kg and 50 CM on Soru, the bigger male didn't seem to strain the soldier at all. “W-What are you... Equalists?” Tashi groaned out, as Soru scoffed. “We look like amateurs to you? We're united forces, bitch.” Soru told Tashi, before punching his lights out.

The same man whom just an hour ago had kicked ass was now sitting in a bar, drinking scotch with his friends, trading stories and jokes. “..So then I said.. 'Thank you mam, but I prefer Platypusfox!' Bwahaha!” One of the soldiers shouted, following with the other soldiers laughing with him, the story being damn funny. The man whom was a Rear admiral in the United Forces's navy, came and approached Soru's table. “Commander Deshuga, I understand the raid went well?”

“You betcha, it did. We whooped their ass, no problem.” Soru smiled, the rear admiral raising an eyebrow, as he then looked behind Soru, making the Commander turn his eyes away from the admiral, only for the admiral to karate-chop him in the side, making the Commander fall over. “The hell man?!” Soru shouted. “Please. That was a sad excuse for a punch. You're injured. Admit injury in your report next time. You're impressive, Commander Deshuga, but you're not General Buumi.” The higher-ups told Soru, as he left the bar, throwing some coin to the barman, to pay for the soldiers drinks.

Soru pushed himself up from the ground “Damn prick..” He cursed under his breath.

171 CM, 64 Kg heavy. Spikey short red hair, distinctive scar over his right eye. If out of his uniform, he's usually seen wearing dress shirt, a black jacket, tie and black chinos, topping it all off with dress shoes, regardless of him being in his uniform or not.

| Bending skills or fighting style: |
Soru is, by blood a fire bender. However, due to his past, he's chosen to suppress his firebending with the help of Chi-Blocking, meaning that he holds no training in Firebending. This does effectively render him a non-bender.

As a Non-Bender, you have a rather difficult time in the United Forces, you have to learn to coup with stones flying at you, your clothes being put on fire, and your feet being frozen to the ground, because if you don't, you will die. That's the first thing Soru learned as a soldier, and it's a lessen he will never forget. Soru is a man who focuses primarily on stealth, he moves quietly and effectively, his commando training focuses largely on preparation, meaning that when a move is executed, he's already run the scenario in his head and already prepared the scenario to his advantage.

He's skilled in hand to hand combat, but also in armed combat. His fighting style is inspired by Chi-Blocking, but focused on causing for external damage. He won't block your chi point with a punch, he'll instead dislocate your knee with a well placed kick, and then punch you out with his weapons. He's also a accomplished free runner and acrobat, as well as tactician.

Knuckle Duster: He carries a set of knuckle dusters on him at all times, as they are his primary weapon.
Kukri: In his United Forces outfit, he's equipped with a Kukri.
Uniform: The Red uniform of the united Forces, his is marked with one Silver stripe and four Bronze stripes, indicating he is a Petty Officer, the lowest rank of all officers in the forces. His uniform is outfitted with the regular gear, compass, hand-radio, binoculars and emergency flare. In his Commando alternative, he's also armed with tear-gas grenades and a electric glove, courtesy of Future Industries.

Cocky, Arrogant, Charming.

Soru prides himself on being smart and cunning, that he's as smart as a fox, but as dangerous as a bear. Weather this is true or not, well, you'll have to figure out yourself. He likes to try and think ahead of others. He does this because he knows it's how he stays alive. He needs to cheat benders to beat them, and it shows a lot in his personality. He holds a crude sense of humor, and a innate “Bad boy” charm. He hates people who prowls on the weak, but what's more is that he hates people who choose to stay weak just because it's safe. He's aware that making Commanding Officer in your second year in the army is a pretty big feat, and while he doesn't flaunt it, he holds great pride in his service in the army.

While he has a long fuse, and he keeps himself well adjusted at most times, should his long fuse be set off, his anger is rather mighty.

Soru is part of the very rich and prosperous Deshuga family, a Noble Family in the Fire Nation They had been a opposing force to the 100 year long and actively used their influence to challenge the military, and just because of how influential they were, they weren't put down, but respected, by the fire nation's military.

Soru's older brother, Sho, being over a decade older than Soru is the head of the family. Sho has, like Soru, served in the military, while Sho's rank is much higher than Soru's, Sho being a General of the fleets, just like the Fire Lord's Grandson. Sho's the general of the Fourth Division. But, how did Soru get into the military like this?

Well, it all comes down to where Soru came from. He's not a Deshuga by blood, but only by where he was raised. Soru's parents were.. Different, they were criminals, mostly. Not big time criminals, but performed petty crimes to get by. And when they had Soru, they raised him to be the same. They were, however, both very powerful fire benders. And when Soru was four, he saw the full extent of his parent's power, just how dangerous they were.

The two of them were cornered by earth benders after they had raided a village. But like a wolf that's backed into a corner, they came out swinging, their bending took down the entire village, killed everyone in it sans the three of them. Soru, as a three year old saw it all, and it rooted deep within him. The power of Fire.. It.. It scared him.

Soon, the military would track them down and capture Soru's parents and they would soon be put in prison to never see the light of day again. Most kids would be devastated to lose their parents, but not Soru, Soru was relieved to be freed from the two psychopaths that had called themselves his parents.
He spent a year in an orphanage, and when it was time to start schooling, he proved very intelligent, in fact, he proved to be the brightest person in the orphanage.

Hatake Deshuga, the current head of the family, adopted Soru at five years old and raised him as his own. While he originally wanted for Soru to become a fire bender, he did sympathize with the young boy, and let the boy skip out on bending training.

Soru started training for the united forces at the age of 13, being a excellent fighter and acrobat for his age, he joined the UF Boot camp at age 16. There, during a drill he was pitted against another guy in his regiment, the 66st regiment. Their fight got heated, as as the guy broke Soru's arm, Soru's anger got the best of him, and for the first time in his life, he firebent, the fire coming surprisingly and taking his opponent, Madro, off guard, severely burning Madro's chest and left arm.

Soru made sure he would be unable to do it ever again, so he made deals with his higher-ups to allow him to be treated with passive chi-blocking, keeping him from ever bending.

He graduated from camp, and became a soldier at age 17. Because of his, Madro's and the other members of the 66st Regiment's skills in sneaking and acrobatis, they became a covert guerilla force, that would take out hostiles before the hostiles even knew they were there.

At age 19, Madro's the captain of the 66st regiment, and Soru's the second in command, at the rank of Commander.

He quite enjoys fishing, eating Sushi, and cooking beef stew.
He also enjoys relaxing in the sun and drinking beer, or hitting on the local girls wherever he is stationed for the time being. He's quite the romantic, or quite the asshole, depends on who you ask.
