I'm having way too much fun with my Legend of Zelda Encylopedia. This is the game that got me into roleplaying so have a lot invested in it's lore and stories. Too bad can't have all the games too.

The problem was she was isolated in the first place because she fell for their trap hook-line-and-sinker. Of course Julianna made sure that fact would not go unnoticed. Hmm I need to edit it just a little though.
Things were getting quite crazy at the moment with the undead knight trying to sing the little captain's praises, Gillian giving a more accurate account of what actually transpired though still not the whole truth yet. As much as she wanted to continue her little game action was now needed. "Forgive me Sir Garett and Lady Marianne but it seems my presence is needed. Thank you for escorting me." Julianna detached herself from his arm and gave a small curtsy before making her way over toward the princess.

Julianna stopped near sir Gillian and was the picture of humility before the princess with her head slightly bowed. "Thank you sir Gillian for that more honest report though even that clarification still doesn't paint a clear picture. While clearly a successful campaign we never the less had casualties largely in part to hero play on the young captain's part. Falling to ambushes twice put the company in risk and casualties though thanks to the quick actions of the Iron Rose Knights best we managed to pull through. While I hate being the bearer of bad news it is rather clear that more training to avoid such mistakes in the future. I hope we all learn from these trying experiences and are better suited for the tasks ahead in the future."

Being such a spectacle in front of so many was not something Julianna particularly enjoyed, especially with such a sticky subject; however the nobles needed to hear what actually happened from an Iron Rose Knight so it was up to her to play the part. "I hope you can forgive me for speaking so candidly but an accurate recording of events must be preserved." This caused quite the murmur among the crowd and more than a few grumbles could be heard.

"However I do not mean to downplay our accomplishment at routing a despicable force in the midst of our fair kingdom despite the mistakes made. The Bandit King is no more and will not be a plague upon our people any longer."

As Julianna gave her side of the story, the Silverns proudly made their way closer so they could hear every word. Theodore smiled at his daughter, yes, so to the throat as it were. There was no way this royal ball would just be in favor of the new captain now.
Well almost certainly there will be an inside job as to who and what is trying to be accomplished I'm not sure.

I say that the three women surrounding Sir Ian are actually witches plotting to use the knight as cover until they can get into position and attack the princess. Well probably not but you never know...

Which makes the little girl the counter-mage hired just for tonight in order to protect the royal family.

Conspiracies make everything more fun!
Theodore Silvern and Lady Theresa Silvern made for a striking pair of nobles. Theodore was a tall, broad chested man with light, chocolate colored skin, and appeared to be in his hearty forties. He was decked out in white and gold colored clothes that simply screamed wealthy. He also carried a polished cherry-wood cane with a large diamond affixed to the end that could even cast a bit of a rainbow when the light streamed through it. To complete his esteemed look was a thick, white streak through the middle of his coarse, black hair, as in in tribute to his family name. The man was every inch the noble at 6'0" but his strong looking and somewhat large face and body betrayed his strength and power as a warrior.

Lady Theresa stood a bit below her husband at 5'8" but her features were certainly striking. The woman had just started to show the signs of age with little crow's feet just starting to show around her eyes but she still was a very lovely lady. It was quite easy to see where Julianna got her good looks from. While her husband had a bit more of a flat and strong face, Theresa was a bit more on the angular side with sharp features. Like her daughter, she had moonlight colored hair that would have reached to her back if it was not styled into some intricate braid work around her head.

She had darker skin than her husband and while well-endowed was also quite toned and strong limbed, it was easy to tell that they may be nobles but they certainly came from a family that had seen their fair share of warfare, which is why they had risen to such prominence during the rebellion. She was wearing a white gown with silver lace work, quite the work of art all on its own that was only made better by the woman wearing it.

The two were calmly doing a quick survey around the room after saying goodbye to the latest group of nobles they had conversed with that day. They had already made quite a few rounds around the ball to catch up on the latest inner workings in court.

"Quite the marvelous spectacle our princess is putting on." Theodore said privately to his wife. Such a marvelous girl deserves to only have the very best serve her, though that day is still a bit far at the moment." Theodore allowed himself to crack his own neck just a bit to limber up for the rest of the evening.

"Don't worry my dear, that day will no doubt be closer than you think. Oh do look at the poor knight trying to say only good things about the captain." Theresa barely nodded in the direction of Sir Gillian who appeared quite flustered in front of the princess. It was quite an amusing sight.

"Oh do look dear, our daughter is already hard at work." Theresa nudged Theodore over in the direction of Julianna and Sir Garett. As the pair watched the Delacroix heiress also joined them.

"It looks like she may have some competition from one of our fiercest rivals. That being said, I don't recognize the man she is holding onto? Theodore narrowed his eyes as he scrutinized Sir Garett from afar. "What a fierce looking man, hmm, I have to wonder how he would have stacked up to myself in my youth; however he appears a little...savage." His face started to turn into a scowl.

"I swear if that barbarian tries anything to my daughter." Theodore started to tighten his grip on his cane subconciously, causing his white gloves to start to rub a little on the polished wood.

Theresa merely laughed. "I'm sure you would run him through I have no doubt my love; however I think we both know Julianna can take care of herself quite well. We were the ones who raised her after all."

"Of course but still, seeing that man with this youth and vigor seems to really be scratching at my old warrior's spirit. I feel like a fight with him would be quite the challenge, alas that this body is not what it once was." Even saying that the older gentleman certainly didn't appear like he was losing much of his touch though.
The things you forget to put in the first time...well at least it looks shiny and eye catching so...it will have to do. Causing doing the same in another post just seems lame.
Hmm well I want Sir Garett to have a chance to respond now that he's been sandwiched between chocolate and vanilla. XD

So I think I'll just have the Silvern family make their appearance for now.

That's the interesting and challenging part to it all. Normally, Marianne wouldn't never even consider the thought. But how twisted and manipulative would you have to be? How crafty and skillful to undo someone's line of thinking like that?

Challenge accepted, all in good time...

While it seemed like she was entirely leading Sir Garett on, he managed to maintain his composure quite well. It was really quite remarkable actually, for someone who did not have much experience in the Thaln court. Even when there was some noble banter the tall knight even managed to put in his own zinger to her mention of a relationship.

“Although frankly I’m certain I can break them of their opinion. After all, who wouldn’t want an army of Barbarians ready to come to the assistance of their new family members.” The man could think on his feet outside of battle and he was even testing the waters and her intentions. It was quite amusing in its own right.

"My, my Sir Garett; whatever could you be implying?" She teased, taking a last sip from her glass and then placing it down. Before she could say anymore Dame Marianne arrived and proceeded to compliment her on her choice of dress. During this time the princess made her appearance and like most everyone else in the room, Julianna had to get a good look at the princess before returning to the conversation.

The princess was quite the pretty thing, young, beautiful, pale skin, a dress so well adorned that it had to cost a fortune, and rather ample assets. She was a gem whose beauty rivaled the goddess Reon herself and even her personality was a great boon to her popularity. Julianna could not help but think that this was a person she could put her whole being into following.

Then back to the matter at hand. The Lady Delacroix was quite the elegant beauty herself, wearing her somewhat simple white dress with a red corset her attire was quite tasteful and refined. With her porcelain skin and raven hair she exuded an air of purity and grace that Julianna doubted she could match even if she had gone with her own white dress. Skin tone could really change how a color made one appear to other people.

"Thank you very much Lady Marianne, though I must simply counter by saying you look stunning yourself." Julianna gave a short curtsy, though hardly moved as at the moment she was still attached to Sir Garett. Marianne was a very upright and noble knight associated with a family with plenty of history. Julianna had to admit she was a wonderful person and certainly hoped they could remain friends so it was unfortunate that their two families were essentially opposite in views, especially on tradition.

"If you must know, the dress was a custom production by one of the best tailors in Thaln. My parents were quite giddy when they managed to procure the talents of the great Thateous Germain. That being said it is only thanks to his magnificent talents I could come even close to your own radiance." Julianna smiled, she admitted she might be laying on the compliments at bit thick but at events such as this it was only expected.

"But I digress, we are leaving poor Sir Garett out in the cold with our talk of dress." Julianna patted his arm lightly with her hand as if he were a great prize. "He was just enlightening me to the great mysteries surrounding his lineage. Can you image? This man is one of the main contenders of Jarl and yet he prefers our own company rather than secure his station. Quite the noble sentiment in its own right."
Is it bad that i also immediately noticed the boobs.

Considering you freely admitted your character has a soft spot for beautiful women I think not. XD
It was certainly a very stimulating conversation, also one very different from the usual she had to contend with. His straightforward answers were certainly a breath of fresh air as nobles could be notoriously stuffy. Of course as they conversed she quickly started to file away all relevant information she could glean. Sir Garett was, in a sense, second in line to the Jarldom and while he probably had a decent amount of support his older brother was the more likely candidate. The most important fact though was that Garett really just didn't seem to want to be a ruler, preferring to wield his sword and see the world than to be stuck in politics.

Julianna graciously took his arm with her gloved hand as he started leading her to the drink table. "Being a leader limits you freedom, a truth I know all too well." She thought of her own parents briefly, the Silvern family heads who were always doing their utmost to rise in power and prestige which meant quite often acting in a way to appeal to the other nobles. It was just such a life that she had been bred for, her parents were using her as a tool for their own ends but she accepted their will as if it was her own. They were put her in the captain's seat of the Iron Rose Knights and then she too would be completely encased in that game to bring about change to the kingdom.

There was also the princess herself, she would be expected to be the pride and joy of the ball no doubt as her royal duty demanded it. Leadership was complicated, sticky, and frankly Julianna just could not see Fanilly raising to the ocassion as the leader of the Iron Rose Knights. Tradition could work for a while, but eventually the reality of the position would come to bite anyone not prepared because they were put into position without proper training.

So Julianna was quite unsure of what to think when Sir Garett had said that the point of the captain position was to be young and naive. Admittedly the young part had its merits and Julianna herself was still young in comparison to most knights, but the naive part just seemed like a very poor fit for the position.

As they walked Julianna took a sip from her glass. "That being said a strong leader is a necessity, even if that leader may not want to lead. That being said, there is a bit of romance to the fact you have the freedom to choose your own path. It's a quality I certainly do not dislike, it even makes me a little envious even." Julianna mildly alluded to the fact that her path in life had already been chosen for her, but her happiness was her family's happiness.

They had just made it to the drink's table when a noblewoman intercepted them. "My, my quite rugged gentleman you have their my dear. A suitor of yours perhaps?" The noblewoman was wearing quite the dashing red dress despite being a tad on the older side though she could have been quite the looker in her youth. It was mostly just some semi-polite teasing on her part, possibly designed to make them feel awkward but Julianna was too used to such tactics so she lightly smiled in return.

"He is quite the catch isn't he?" She gave his arm a light squeeze for fun, "Unfortunately my parents would never allow a relationship with one such as he, forgive me kind sir." Julianna looked up at Sir Garett as if in longing to make the statement even more dramatic, but then she returned to the task at hand. "Needless to say he is one of our order's best knights and an esteemed colleague of mine Countess Prawm, though I am sure you know of Sir Garett by reputation alone."

"But of course," she quickly responded though most likely the woman didn't actually know who the man was, other than his title. "A great honor to meet such a knight in person. I wish you both the very best." The woman retreated to her posse, no doubt to the relief of Sir Garett.

"I certainly hope that did not scare you for life Sir Garett but since things are only to be expected I am afraid."
