@rush99999 Oh, note! O'Malley will at very least know Loch likes cryptids.

In fact, they are in this scene currently wearing this hoodie, featuring their favourite cryptid:
...

Hey... most of it is black
Cassidy

Cassidy rode her custom Triumph Thunderbird competently. Fast, but with care and precision. Her mind was still rattled by the encounter with Toby. His frailty had shaken her to the core. To have survived this long when he'd been expected to perish a while back spoke of an unparalleled strength of spirit. Images of Toby coughing blood in the gym as he approached her, of him laboring for breath in the ambulance, of the wild ride to the hospital still streaked her mind's eye.

She allowed her attention to drift back into focus on the task at hand. The bike stopped smoothly in front of the abandoned amusement park. Cassidy swiveled the kickstand with her boot, to support the idle bike and meticulously took off her riding gloves and her helmet. She stored the helmet in the bike's saddlebags. All the gear she would need was either in her riding backpack or on her person, like her sidearm and her knife. Still astride the bike, the former jodoka surveyed the landscape before her. What she saw could easily serve as the backdrop of a horror movie. Especially with the fence, she knew for a fact was not part of the park's original layout. No, it was put there later. Presumably to keep vandals out. Or... the much scarier thought. To keep something in!

Whatever the case, at this particular moment the fence wasn't doing a good job of its intended purpose. The front gate hung open, and... Wait! Wait! Wait...! Was that... a person. Slowly, quietly Cassidy dismounted her bike and reached around and under her jacket for the small of her back where her Walther P99 lay securely in its holster. There was a frantic moment of struggle as she raised Cassidy's arm, aimed at the shadowed figure and almost pulled the trigger.

LEAVE ME BE, FIEND! Cassidy threatened in her mind, aiming the shaky gun at her left hand, where her talisman resided, securely tied around Cassidy's wrist. Or I'll shoot my bloody hand of and you with it!

It was an empty threat. Cassidy knew. After all... she would never let her do it. But it made Cassidy feel good delivering it anyway.

A bit more in control of herself, the former Olympic athlete once again surveyed the horizon before her. Only this time, she allowed herself to perceive beyond what ordinary people could not. If this thing was haunted, Cassidy would know. And she was not above enlisting the help of the corporeally challenged.

Okay, just tell me if you change your mind.

No problem. I'm sure there'll be stuff to do on the ship

Accepted, though, wait a bit to post, or I should ask you this. Since there is a linguist npc in first the mission of the rp. Do you wish to replace this npc on the mission, or would you rather your char be on the Arcadian?

Neat! Thanks

So I can catch up with the IC, let's say for the moment she's on the Arcadian.

This case is definitely the latter. Your characters know each other, but came to the amusement park independently for reasons.

Great, thanks. I will get on cracking than
So, before I get cracking on with my intro post, I need a couple clarifications. We are arriving here independently of each other. Each to investigate the park for our own reasons. But since we've established histories with each other, does this mean this is our first job together, even by chance? Or do we know each other, but we came here independently for reasons?

I hope this meets muster. I tried not to take liberties with the setting, but if I've done so let me know and I will correct what needs correcting.

Working together may be best, but it also be funny if William had no idea about that. So you just showed and was like 'less go'

The "The signs all pointed to working together..." is a connection from Loch's playbook though. Not Cassidy's so I guess if you're fine with what I suggested let's go with that. You can decide what the message from William's wife was. But he doesn't know who delivered it. Since Cassidy isn't the kind to go around finding people to 'work' with. I'm gathering Loch is going to be the glue of this particular crew. And Loch can have their 'It's all connected' pinboard that way
I... feel the urge to lurk... Sci-fi, POO, Penny... NPC-occupied linguist slot subscribed
@Redking0380, I believe I have an interesting connection suggestion for William with one of Cassidy's playbook histories:

"You used your powers on them one time. Decide if it was for selfish reasons or not, and tell them if they found out about it."

What if after William lost his wife in moments of desperation he sought out mediums and the like with the hope he would be able to communicate with her. He never got into contact with Cassidy, because few people know she can see ghosts and spirits. But Cassidy may have found out he was looking for a connection and could have possibly slipped him a note with some sort of final message from his wife to give to William. Without him ever learning it was Cassidy who delivered it.

How does that sound?
