Why an off season?

It would be funny if you can loan someone your points and if they win you share the profits but if they lose they keep your loan to help pay for their loss! So you could get to the top of the leaderboards by being a good loan shark!

I'd advise against the win/loss system unless it was for character rankings to see what characters are the best and try to take them on to dethrone them.
The question my character poses is a serious one. I assume the magical wards explanation is correct but I'm not positive. Obviously it might not be a good idea to hack ourselves to pieces.
Before I start reading everything and come in with my own Evvie post, anyone want her to interact with them so I know in advance?

Yeah you won't be fighting Rilla all the time, most characters wear clothes.

Niks was effective against Evvie in the past for this reason but she'll have her summoned armor in canon from now on so shouldn't be nearly as big of a problem.
Hikaru followed behind him to the weapons, eyeing them with interest, not only because she'd need to determine which one she'd use, but also because some of them were really cool looking. Although the katanas caught her eye instantly, she still gave the others a quick run through before meandering over to the blue handled one, giving it a few test swings to try and feel how different it was from her practice sword. It would take some getting used to, that was for sure, but her practice sword did try to at least get some of the same feelings down so it still felt comfortable enough in her hand despite being her first time using this weapon. She almost felt like a samurai as she swung it playfully around, but she didn't want to waste her opponent's time too much so held back her smirk and turned to face him.

"Despite being blunt, please allow me a moment to form a protective layer around myself for both practice in keeping it active during combat and so that you can go all out against me and not worry about causing too much harm due to my unarmored state. It also disperses the energy from any serious blow so that I would only be knocked unconscious instead," she explained.

Closing her eyes and standing still, she focused on the energy in her core and expanded it outwards in all directions, coating her body in her shimmering white energy that became invisible once the process was completed, only showing up again in spots where it would deflect attacks. Fast or powerful enough attacks would easily get through, but against a blunt sword and this opponent, her defenses should not be able to be overwhelmed.

With her defense completely ready, she entered a typical kendo battle stance, holding the sword with both hands in front of her, the tip pointed towards her opponent's throat, her left foot slightly behind the right with the heel raised, ready to pounce forward if an opening presented itself, but for now she was in a solid defensive posture that provided little openings.

"We may begin," she said calmly.

That in itself is telling, I'd choose the 40mm because it would be a cleaner less painful death and there would be a better chance of me surviving if it didn't hit me in the head or torso.

You wouldn't want it to badly mangle a limb either, in which case it might be horrible pain and you'd still bleed out quite possibly unless they rush you to hospital for some reason. Easier to treat the damage if you do survive, just with a disibility.
I'm aware of the damage potential of the round, but lava is hot enough to combust a human being just from proximity, not to mention burning gases destroying your lungs and all manner of other terrible options. If you gave an ordinary human (even one wearing a bullet proof vest) the option of having a bucket of lava thrown over them or being shot by a 40mm round, which do you honestly think they would take their chances with?

I'd choose the 40mm just because I'd think it would kill me instantly rather than burning to death. Neither is survivable with any hit other than an extremely glancing blow.

I'm making the comparison between my Mech's gun which you said is unfair because it would kill someone of a lower defense and your own character's fire attacks. Only one of these weapons is a clear-cut insta-kill to lower tiers.

Here's your 40 MM bullet:

If any character without insane health related abilities says they manage to survive such a bullet that hits anywhere in their torso or head (even getting hit in the leg or arm would likely cause them to bleed out in moments as the limb is taken off), I'd call that person's claims dubious at best.
@ImportantNobody I haven't read everything yet, but since I'm spending less time Role playing. I'm instead using my time to do research. So recently I've been researching the people you and Barti are fighting, and the characters in the HQ Lobby thread. I have decided to only research your other characters as they come up, or when I have extensive free time, because there are just so freaking many of them!

I'll start up my character a days again pretty soon and will stop at 200 to fix up/draw my characters. I have some good ones planned up. I'd suggest only looking at my highest ranked ones because most of the c ranks probably won't show up at all, although some have. I will do some editing on what rank I have them in, maybe tomorrow, because there's been some changes.

I'm wondering how Evvie will fit into this canon.
Maybe you only get participation points if you are below a certain point total. Newer people would need the participation points more to catch up and feel motivated while veterans wouldn't feel as big of a need for participation points. This would also allow people to catch the veterans easier, getting up to a certain number before loosing participation points and having to catch up the rest of the way on their own two feet.
