Yes, various maps have there place, but for an official ranked tournament I'm going to continually advocating consistency among the maps. ^.^
@Dyanamo

I can understand, but I've seen the position of such things come into incredible importance, which is why I advocate for such things.
I would lean towards actually very defined terrain maps for competitive fighting, as location within them does matter and it stays consistent without constant referencing of previous posts for the added description by both the current participants and future ones.

For example, something such as this:

Dark Green is trees. Grey are stone columns about 20 feet high. Light green is obvious meadow. Dark blue is water. Light blue is open air, as this would be a floating platform. The choice of a barrier preventing knocking someone off would be an option. I'd lean towards a large diameter for the circle, such as 60-100 feet.
Alright I'm on it.

If you need simple graphics done for the tournament grounds, please let me know. I can quickly whip up something in photoshop representing the terrain.
The Arena setting needs to be decided by the scope of the powers are are going to unleash. On the assumption it is powered...

In general, I would lean in favor of making it a larger map as well, as there may be longer range characters that wish to be utilized. I'd also suggest that it be quite simple. A few things like trees for some cover, some sort of water, etc. It should have a diverse amount of 'materials' to work with.
I'd be potentially interested.

Would Four be a reasonable number?

Four would be fine.
I'm definitely interested. What is the limit for Characters and is there a limit to how many weapons can be carried?

I am not putting a limit on the number of characters in the thread as I suspect most people will break off into smaller groups for most bounties/demon hunting.

As for weapons, as long as it seems like a reasonable number, I'm fine with it.
Maybe someone can take down El Presidante Rilla. . .kick him in the babymaker a few times.

I'm too old to be overthrowing things.
The story will delve into the origin of the demons as well as some other things.
