Shiranui did likewise with Kettobasu and received his belt. "We better heal up because we have a tough fight ahead," he suggested.
The dust cleared to reveal Kettobasu also knocked out. "Ladies and gentlemen, we have a draw!" came the announcement.
"Blaze Kick!" As Hitmonchan readied an electrified punch, Kettobasu wound up for a fiery kick. Their attacks met and another explosion issued forth.
Kettonasu was hit for major damage. "High Jump Kick!" The Hitmonlee jumped high into the air and readied a kick that would not miss.
Their attacks met and an explosion issued forth, cancelling each other out. "Kettobasu, Mind Reader!" The Hitmonlee read Hitmonchan's movements in preparation for his next attack.
Is anyone still out there?
Kettobasu got hit for some minor damage. "Kettobasu, Blaze Kick!" The Hitmonlee's legs ignited as he executes a stretchy karate kick.
"Kettobasu, I choose you!" Shiranui sent out his Hitmonlee and the match was on; Hitmonlee vs Hitmonchan. "Kettobasu, Focus Energy!" The Hitmonlee's legs got extra springy as energy was focused into them, making critical hits more likely.
"Shiranui, long time no see!" said a voice that Shiranui recognised.
"Likewise, Ami," Shiranui replied.
"I have someone who will truly pose a challenge for you," stated Ami, "Go Cindy!"
"Kettobasu, I choose you!" As Shiranui's Hitmonlee materialised in the arena, Shiranui saw what looked like a cross between a hawk and a luchador emitting some sparkles that indicated it was a shiny Pokémon. He pulled out his Pokédex and scanned the newcomer.
"Hawlucha, the Wrestling Pokémon. Although its body is small, its proficient fighting skills enable it to keep up with big bruisers like Machamp and Hariyama." The bell rang and the bout was on.
"Cindy, start with Hone Claws!"
"Kettobasu, Attract!" The shiny Hawlucha brandished its talon-like claws and made them sharper. Kettobasu showed off an array of kicks and Cindy fell for the Hitmonlee's courtship ritual.
"Cindy, use your signature move! Flying Press!"
"Kettobasu, Blaze Kick!" Cindy leaped into the air and executed an aerial body slam. Kettobasu's leg ignited as he kicked up at the descending Hawlucha. Cindy landed and got up and Shiranui noticed that Kettobasu's attack left the Hawlucha burnt.
"Cindy, Roost!"
"Kettobasu, Earthquake!" Cindy recovered most of the damage she took and Kettobasu seized the chance and gave the arena a stomp, causing it to shake violently. Cindy fell over and took more damage.
"Cindy, Flying Press!"
"Kettobasu, Mega Kick!" The love Cindy felt prevented her from attacking and Kettobasu seized his chance and gave the Hawlucha a powerful kick. Cindy struggled to get up and just when she stood tall, her burn made itself known and the shiny Hawlucha succumbed to it, falling down. Cindy was knocked out and Shiranui made the grand final where he had to face his own friend Liam and his Hitmonchan.

"Kettobasu, Mind Reader!" While Hitmontop was spinning on his head and flitting all over the arena, Kettobasu was reading Hitmontop's movements.
"Hitmontop, Triple Kick!"
"Kettobasu, High Jump Kick!" Thanks to the Agility from earlier, Hitmontop was fast enough to get three kicks in before Kettobasu jumped high in the air and aimed a kick a good distance from where Hitmontop was. Hitmontop was heading right for Kettobasu and the Hitmonlee's attack landed for some major damage.
"Hitmontop, Counter!"
"Kettobasu, Focus Energy!" Kettobasu was able to pump up his leg muscles while Hitmontop was poised to counter an attack that would never come.
"Hitmontop, Close Combat!"
"Kettobasu, Blaze Kick!" Hitmontop spun in and delivered a barrage of kicks that put a serious dent in Kettobasu's HP. Kettobasu's leg ignited as he gave Hitmontop a karate kick that was critical due in part to the Focus Energy from earlier. Hitmontop came to a halt on his corner knocked out.
"Kettobasu, Mind Reader!" While Hitmontop was spinning on his head and flitting all over the arena, Kettobasu was reading Hitmontop's movements.
