How about they do a one-on-one battle for the egg after they go back to New Bark Town before it hatches. That way, whoever carries the egg is most likely going to be the first person the Togepi sees.
As the heroes proceeded back along Route 29, Shiranui remarked, "Looks like our journey through our home region just got a bit more interesting.
The heroes made it back south to Cherrygrove City. Shiranui still had a hunch on what is within the egg.
I'll have all of 1Charak2's requests {Raikou, Suicune, Togepi egg} if you don't mind.
Shiranui left the house and waited for the others.
"I'll tell you when we're on the road again," answered Shiranui, "Mainly so we don't spoil the surprise for Mr. Pokémon."
Shiranui recognised the pattern on the egg and said, "We'll make sure it gets to him in one piece."
